Chapter 10: Can You Hear Me

Kanna's mind could not ignore they fact that her husband had been avoiding her since their return yesterday. She knew saying what she did in Hideki's mansion, was a difficult thing for anyone to swallow.
A knock was made on her door as she laid on the couch sipping on some water as she reviewed the final paper work for her and Zero to travel to the north estate of the Hanadagi family.
"Come in" she could already tell who it was by their scent
The male pureblood entered her room with a gentle smile as he locked her door. Kaname started to slowly make his way towards Kanna taking a seat on the couch beside her. The female pureblood did not lift her eyes from the documents in front her but instead took a sip of water and continued reading the document.
"A greeting would be nice" the male said as he cross his leg over the other and leaned into the couch relaxing his form. She was such a workaholic, he had never met a woman that loved paper work like the one before him.
"Whenever we greet each other it ends badly Kaname" she gave him a quick side glance and then continued reading the documentation.
Kaname could only smile to her statement it was true the majority or nearly almost all the time when they greeted each other in a few moments they would be in bed.
"Yes, you seem to be correct"
"I always am" she smiled as she sat the paper work down on the coffee table with the glass of water in her hand.
Kaname hesitated bringing the subject up was never a good idea but he can feel that something was wrong. Only one person in the entire world would put Kanna in such a foul mood.
"You went to see your father" Kaname stated and the moment the word 'father' fell from her lips she bit the side of her lip in annoyance.
"I do not go to see that man willingly, the bastard summoned me." She cursed under her breath, it always took him back when she would curse in his presence, it was a breath of fresh air to be around someone who did not care who he was or what he was.
"I apologize, I know that Hid –" she cut him "Don't mention his name to me!"
The air around them became stiff and thick with her mood, the coffee table slowly crystalizing in red at the corners.
He took her into his arms as she laid her face on his chest holding onto his arm, tear slipping from her eyes.
"I hate him" Kanna whispered as she buried her face deeper and held onto her ex lover tighter.

Yuuki did not know how to approach the female pureblood, she was frightening. Aidou and Ruka had warned her to stay away from her only a couple of days after her arrival but she could not avoid this.
Yuuki approached the older female when it was their break time while walking towards the cafeteria.
"Can I have a moment with you Kanna-senpai"
The dark haired female only raised an eyebrow at her, it was not as if they conversed on a daily basis how could they.
"Alright" what was the harm in indulging the child for a bit.
Kanna followed Yuuki to the abandoned old moon dorm building away from the main school building. She knew that Yuuki was going to be antagonistic towards her, probably someone told her a rumor about her and Kaname. It did not matter things like this were too easy to handle, the child had no idea who she was dealing with, Kaname and her weren't best friends for nothing.
"What can I do for you Yuuki-san?" the older female started as they stopped in the woods
"Aidou-senpai and Ruka-senpai told me to be cautious around Kanna-senpai but I cannot ignore this"
Yuuki declared fisting her right hand by her side, the trees blew strongly. No winds to make the trees toss and turn around them, could only mean that it was this little pureblood in front of her creating the disturbance. She had read all about the little Kuran princess and the fact that Kaname in their early years talked about his sister nonstop only gave her more of an advantage against her.
"What exactly can you not ignore Yuuki-san?"
She threw an object at the older pureblood, laying on the grass was a picture of her, Takuma, and Kaname in their younger years.
As Kanna looked at the picture by her feet she looked back up at the young pureblood.
"It is only a picture Yuuki-san, we are friends your oni-san and I, that is all"
"OH! Really! What about the letters I found in oni-sama's office huh? Are those just friendship letters too?" Yuuki yelled at her
"Friends write letters to each other all the time, I do not see what you are trying to accuse me of" Kanna kept her voice calm. She did not want to hurt the girl, she was his younger sister. She had no animosity against her.
"LIAR!" Yuuki was breathing harshly "You and Kaname-oni-sama are lovers!" the younger female's eyes started to glow red as her emotions turned into anger.
The wind blew stronger and with it the picture blew from the ground into the night sky. The sound of Artemis extending and turning into a deadly weapon ended the friendly conversation between the two female purebloods.

Zero was in the library studying for his next exam tomorrow, Toga and Kaito were patrolling the grounds tonight.
At the side of the pile of books was a brown file holding the context of his wife background and information. He was hesitant to open it so he let it sit there were a few hours. The Headmaster had given it to him when he had requested it from him after his morning classes.
Kanna
Zero slowly marked the book in front of him and pulled the folder from the corner to position it in front of him. Slowly raising the top to reveal the insides, it was a thick folder containing some of her recent cases and work she did for the association and vampire senate.
Kanna Hanadagi
Father: Hideki Hanadagi
Mother: Kiyomi Namikaze (Decased)
His eyes scanned the common details about his wife, his eyes lingered on the picture on the paper before flipping to the next page.
A report on her hunter training, outstanding grades in every category.
Ranked number one in the female division and ranked third in the male division.
Zero flipped onto the next page, his eyes reading the context.
Incidents
Incident 1:
The pureblood murdered ten innocent children at the day care center she was attending.

Incident 3:
The pureblood bit a young hunter during training.

His eyes kept reading till it hit the last incident,
Number thirty five:
A hundred and fifty six people murdered and drained of all their blood. Victims were all human and people of the town.
Case has been cleared

Yuuki had about ten to seventeen cuts that she could count and they weren't healing, while Kanna had only a ripped blazer and skirt.
She did not understand why artemis was not hitting her target, Yuuki was running out of breath. She tried to breathe more deeply. They had reached the main court of the academy.
"Are we getting tried little girl" Kanna muttered as she swiped once more with her scythe, it was much longer than Yuuki's and harder too, it was made out of red crystals.
She really was going easy on her, she truly was disappointed that this weak child was Kaname's sister. It occurred to her now why he was always worrying about the imbecile.
"You should stop Yuuki-san I do not wish to hurt you anymore" Kanna twirled the weapon around herself wrapping the end of the blade around her own form.
"I won't give up, you took oni-sama from me I will not forgive you" She yelled back as she charged at Kanna with full speed, with the help of her wings behind her back.
The two female purebloods scythe kept clashing as they landed on the roof a few feet apart from each other.
Yuuki was breathing harshly as Kanna threw off her blazer revealing a white crop top under her uniform. Her heel of her boots pounding against the roof as Yuuki charged at her again.
Kanna blocked using the handle of her scythe against artemis.
"And now you're trying to take Zero from me as well" Yuuki yelled in her face pushing harder against Kanna's form
"Tch…you're really are starting to get on my nerves gaki" Kanna moved hitting Yuuki straight in the face making her fly off the rooftop and onto the courtyard grounds with the handle of her scythe.
Kanna watched as the night class all came running outside, the Souen girl running to Yuuki's side trying to help her up as she tried to wipe the blood from her mouth.
Kanna stayed on the roof watching, as she pointed her blade towards the floor of the roof putting a boot on top the blade relaxing her body.
"Ehh… I thought this fight was about your oni-sama, but now you're going on about my husband"
The night class looked up the pureblood on the roof shocked, what husband?
"I don't know anything about your husband, I'm talking about Zero!" Yuuki yelled back as she pushed Ruka out of the way.
Hey dark pair of eyes travelled to the form her husband as he ran to courtyard with the rest of the hunters on campus.
"My husband and your Zero are one and the same little Kuran princess." Kanna smiled as leaned forward.
She really had an itch, it had been three years already since the last time, she …
"LAIR!" Yuuki screamed as she jumped towards Kanna.
Kanna did not move from her position as she felt his presence.

Kaname pulled back his sister keeping her form close to him as the silver haired hunter walked towards Kanna as she landed a few feet in front them.
"Yuuki enough" Kaname ordered as he held her in place making sure not to come in contact with artemis.
"Kanna are you alright?" Zero asked as she dispersed her weapon turning into a red powder.
"I'm fine, it seems like your ex-girlfriend over there has some jealousy issues" she motioned to Yuuki as Zero covered Kanna's form with his blazer.
"She is lying Zero!" Yuuki screamed as she pushed against her older brother.
"That is enough, the both of you I will not condone violence in my academy" The headmaster ordered
"She is lying! Her and –" Yuuki was knocked unconscious as a fist came in contact with her stomach knocking the younger pureblood out.
Kaname held his younger sister in his arms as his eyes looked at the woman by his side.
Kanna's eyes were dark and filled with – he did not know what to call it but he knew exactly what that look meant.
"You need to control your sister better, She will ruin everything"
"I will have it under control Kanna" the older pureblood declared as he walked back to the moon dorms with his unconscious sister in his arms.

Zero sat next to his wife on his bed, keeping her improper form hidden under his black blazer.
"You're exams are they going well?" Kanna asked as she made eye contact with her husband.
"Yeah, I only have two more to go." The hunter said as he laid his hand on his wife's shoulder
Kanna shivered by his touch, she looked towards the window in her husband's room.
"What was Yuuki going on about?" Zero asked as he looked at his wife.
Kanna sighed there was no way around the whole thing, she would have to be honest with him if she wished for the same in return.
"She mostly likely found the letters" Kanna whispered loud enough so he could hear her.
"Letters?" Kanna slowly reached and took his pale hand in her dark one entangling her fingers with his.
"The letters between Kaname and I"
Zero held his breath, he felt like the past was replaying itself once again.
"Zero, I wish to be honest with you. Kaname and I for almost a year had been involved in an improper relationship" Kanna looked into his lavender eyes hoping she would not do the damage that Yuuki had done upon him.
He was finding it hard to breath, he had trusted Kanna more than he would like admit and had grown to depend upon on her then he truly wished to acknowledge.
"Are you still?" he whispered low as his eyes searched within her deep eyes.
"No, we are not" Kanna moved her hair from the side of her face revealing the entire left side of her neck to her husband.
"You may look into my memories, if you wish too"
