A/N: So… what do you think happened with Dean, Draco, and Ginny? Leave me a comment about what you think.

Chapter 10: One Heart Broken

When I woke up the next morning, my eye looked brand new. If you didn't know that I had gotten punched in the eye, you wouldn't be able to guess. "Thanks, Madame Pomfrey," I whisper as I look in the mirror.

Once I get dressed and ready for the day to come, I start to make my way towards the Great Hall for breakfast. As soon as I sit down at the Gryffindor table (facing the Slytherin table, of course), Dean sits next to me and kisses me on the cheek. "Hello there, Sunshine! Looks like the eye is better!" I scoot down the bench a little further. "Yeah… about that…" Thank goodness Lavender Brown came and sat in-between us, saving me from carrying on.

"So," she whispers. "There's this rumor about you going around the school. It's all anyone is talking about!" I nod my head while chewing on some toast. "Well, are you going to tell me or let me find out myself?" I ask. She has a look on her face like she is disciplining herself on the inside. "Oh, right. Sorry! Okay, so, someone said that Draco Malfoy took you into a classroom last night and you guys kissed! Like, full on! That's mental! Like that would ever happen. I mean, it's Malfoy!" she shook her head a laughed a little. "What are you going to do? You have to tell everyone it isn't true!"

I shrug my shoulders. "They can believe what they want. It doesn't really matter to me. Besides, who cares what other people think? If I want to be with a Slytherin, I will." I said. Lavender gasped. "Are you actually dating him? Wait- did he actually kiss you?!"

Before I could respond, Dean butted in. "Of course they aren't dating. And of course she's not kissing some Slytherin in a classroom late at night. Because I'm dating her and I'm kissing her." I think some of the toast slid out of my mouth back onto my plate because my mouth was open so wide. Lavender just squealed with excitement. "Oh, I'm so happy for you! We'll have to go on triple dates! You and Dean, me and Ron, and Harry and Hermione! Oh, this is going to be so much fun!"

I put my hand on Lavender's shoulder. "Hey, can you excuse Dean and me for a minute?" Lavender giggled. "Of course, love bugs!" I rolled my eyes and made contact with Draco, trying to mentally tell him to follow me. Well, I'm going to have to do this at one point…

I drag Dean behind me into an empty classroom. Before I can even say anything, Dean is kissing me. I push him off with all the force I can muster. "I did not bring you in here to snog," I say. "I brought you in here to talk some sense into you. You can't just go around kissing me!"

Dean laughs and puts his hands on my shoulders. "Of course I can, you're mine." He says.

"No, she's mine."

Draco was standing in the doorway staring down Dean. "I'm sorry, but I thought we settled this the other night… Ginny is my girlfriend." Dean said. I looked up at him.

"That's why I came in here… I wanted to tell you that I'm not your girlfriend, and whatever happened that night was just a dream or something. I never said any of those things and honestly, I haven't liked you in that way ever." Dean looked at me with big, sad eyes. "You're not?" he asked.

"Of course not. She's been with me for quite some time now; you were just too blind to notice." Draco said. At that I tore away from Dean and went over to Draco. Dean scowled our way.

"Alright. That's fine. Do what you want, Ginny. I'm just going back to the Hall and I'm going to tell everyone about your little thing with Malfoy here." I gasped. "Dean, that's quite unnecessary," I said. "Can't we just work this out?"

Dean started towards the door. "No, I don't think we can. I don't know what happened to the girl that I hung out with the other night, but she certainly isn't here anymore. When you find her, give me a call." With that, Dean stormed out the classroom door towards the Great Hall.

"Draco, we have to go! He'll tell everyone he'll-" I turned to look at Draco. He was looking down at the ground with a sad face. "What's wrong?" I ask. "Are… are you really that embarrassed of me?" he asked.

I walked over to him and cupped his face with my hands. "What do you mean?" I ask. He pulled away and sat down on one of the desks. "I mean, you don't want Dean to tell the whole school about us. What's wrong with that?"

I'm so taken aback by his question, I'm frozen in place. "Well, do you want the whole school to know?" I ask quietly. Draco tore his gaze away from his fiddling hands in his lap and looked at me. "You know what? Whatever to all the people who think this is forbidden. They can think what they like." He stormed out of the room with what looked like tear-filled eyes. Tear-filled eyes?

"Draco, wait," I run out of the classroom to find an empty hallway. "Great," I mutter. "Now everyone hates me."

"Look at that, Weasel has finally opened her puny eyes to see the reality of her life. What's it feel like?"

Ashley.

"Go away. I'm fine." I said. "Little Ginger doesn't look fine- what happened? Did Draco and Dean dump you?" Ashley and Patricia laugh together as they walk off.

Fine. Let them think whatever they want.

I walked to the Gryffindor Common Room and told the Fat Lady our password. Once she let me in, I decided to draw and write an animated note to Draco. I drew a picture of the number seven eating the number nine and wrote at the top: "Why was nine afraid of seven? Because seven 'ate' nine!" At the bottom I wrote a small note. "Look, I'm really sorry about what happened today. I shouldn't have said what I said. Forgive me? –GW" I cast a spell on the paper so the pictures moved and sent it to Draco.

About ten minutes later I got a reply.

"Ginny. I think you should leave me alone. It was hurtful what you said and I think Dean might be a good choice for you- he's Gryffindor just like you, and he won't cause nearly as much trouble as a Slytherin like me would. Just… don't talk to me anymore. I'm going to take your advice from the other night and go out with Ashley again. –Draco Malfoy"

I could feel a part of heart chip off and dissolve, leaving me with a hole in my heart that hurt like hell.

I went up to my bed and cried for what seemed like a lifetime. What on Earth is happening?
