A girl, 12 years old, lost her parents from Space Pirates and soon adopted by Chozo. With the bird-like creature as the tutor, she had been training in a power suit to seek revenge on the Space Pirates. Gradually, she got better and better with the power suit and was soon 14 years old.

"Great job, Samus. Your accuracy at shooting is getting better. Go ahead and take a brake," Chozo said.

"Thanks..." Samus took off her helmet, along with the rest of her suit.

"You can go get some water in the basement."

"'Kay."

Samus walked into the house and went down stairs.

"I think this is the first times I've been in the base-" she then noticed a large hall with multiple rooms. "Ment..."

She sweated as she walks through the hall.

"Chozo didn't tell me that there were multiple basements..."

Samus kept walking and walking until it was hard to see the stairs. She heard what sounded like coughs and heavy breathing.

She searched for the source and noticed that one of the doors was slightly opened. She opened the door to see a boy, probably couple years younger than her, on the floor, coughing and wheezing.

The boy tried to get up but fell down again.

"H-Hey?! Are you okay?!" Samus bent down picked up the boy onto her back, "What are you even doing here?!"

"*Cough, cough* Ch-Chozo... *cough* to... him..." the boy kept coughing between words, "... help...!"

"You want to go to Chozo?!" Samus got up and turned her head around to see the boy's face. He nodded weakly.

Samus ran through the hall and up the stairs and went outside and spotted Chozo.

"Chozo! I found this boy in one of the basements!" Samus was sweating from running, "I-I think he has medical problems!"

After a while, the boy's breathing calmed down, and he was now rested in a bed in one of the basements that were closest to the staircase. They sat in chairs and watched him for a bit, to make sure he doesn't start coughing and wheezing again.

"Stay here for a while, I'm going to get water for the both of you," Chozo walked out and went further into the hall until Samus couldn't see Chozo anymore.

Samus looked at the boy again, to see what he looked like. The boy had messy brown hair and really pale skin.

"It's a bit rare to see another living human..." she thought.

The boy opened his eyes slowly and sat up. He has blue eyes but a bit hazy since he was half awake.

"Oh, you're up," Samus said.

He rubbed his and blinked a couple of times to clear up his vision and wake up entirely. The boy turned to stare at Samus with bright, sky blue eyes.

"Did you save me? Thank you," he said.

"What were you doing?" Samus asked.

"I was going to get some water but I got lost since I don't really go outside my room," he smiled and sweated a bit. "My health's really bad, that's how I ended up like that..."

"Wait, so you live here?"

"M-hm!" he smiled a gentle smile.

"I thought I was the only one adopted by Chozo..." she thought.

"Name?"

"Samus... Samus Aran."

"Samus, huh? What a pretty name!"

"Your's?"

"Mine...?" he looked down at the blankets.

"Don't you have one?" Samus looked at him oddly.

"Ever since I was a baby, I pretty much lived in the hospital, since my health was so bad. I never got to see, talk, or meet my parents since they were busy or when they came, I was asleep or when I have breathing problems I could barely keep my eyes opened. The nurses showed me pictures of them though and they were pretty much my friends, but they never called me by my name, so I never knew..." he played around with the tip of the blanket.

"When I was 3, the Space Pirates came and attacked the hospital. I could here screams from the nurses and doctors. I escaped my room and ran till I reached the lobby. I saw the backs of my parents who were killed right in front of my eyes. Their bodies slammed into mine and I hit the back of my head onto the wall from the impact and fainted. I woke up in this room with Chozo and Chozo explained what happened."

"That story sounds a bit similar to mine," the boy looked at Samus.

"My parents were killed too by the Space Pirates. I couldn't fight so all I could do was run threw my neighborhood that was in destruction and soon bumped into Chozo. Soon enough I decided I wanted to learn how to fight and avenge my parents, so Chozo is tutoring me on how to fight," Samus played around with a strand of her short blonde hair.

"Well, I specifically want to defeat Ridley who is personally responsible for the death of my parents. By the way, didn't Chozo give you a name?"

The boy just sat there for a bit but soon looked down again, "Pitiful."

"Pitiful?" Samus raised one of her eyebrows, "What the heck was Chozo thinking?"

"Well, I asked Chozo a bit suddenly and he said it fits since people would pity a sick child."

"But it's so... awkward..." Samus tried thinking of a better name for the boy but none of the names she thought of fit him, so she tried thinking of a nickname. "How about Pit?"

"Pit?" the boy thought of the name for a bit.

"I know it's not any better, but a nickname is better then-"

"Okay!"

She looked surprisingly at the boy, who was now looking at her.

"I'll go with that!" he said.

"Uh, okay, Pit!" Samus said.

"Right, onee-chan!" Pit smiled a bright smile.

"'Onee-chan'... huh?" Samus thought. She smiled at the thought of having a little brother.

Samus woke up and slowly sat up on her bed.

She covered her face with her hands.

"I love that memory, I truly do! I was so happy then, and I want to keep dreaming, but..."

A few tears made it's way out through between Samus' fingers and onto the blanket.

"If I do... then I'll see it all over again!"
