Percy woke up, gasping for breath. He needed to talk to the Athena kids. "Annabeth! Annabeth! I need to talk to you!" he shouted. Annabeth turned around looking annoyed. "Yes, Peter?" Percy ran over to her quickly. "I just had a dream. Kronos is sending a drakon and Hyperion for us as a distraction while he goes up to Olympus. By my calculations, Typhon will be here by about midday, and Poseidon is losing to Oceanus. We need to form a plan." Annabeth's expression turned from annoyance to shock and horror. "Malcolm, assemble the best strategists we have, and quickly!" she told her brother.
With the Athena cabin assembled, Annabeth told them the situation. She glanced at her watch. "Oh no. It's nine in the morning, which means we have about three hours until Typhon gets here. If Kronos is smart, he'll deploy the drakon and Hyperion at the same time, giving us more to do. We need a plan. Any ideas?" Just then, Percy got an idea.
"What if we send all of the able demigods, with the exception of the Ares kids, to fight Hyperion. Send the Ares cabin to deal with the drakon. All of them together should be able to do it, as long as they fight together and not individually. The three strongest demigods should go to meet Kronos. That way, they have some chance of fighting him off. We're just going to have to let the gods handle Typhon. He's too strong for the demigods to beat." Annabeth nodded in approval. "I like it. We just need to decide who the strongest demigods are. I think that Thalia and I should go, since we know who Kronos' host is personally. That leaves one more..." Percy raised his hand. "I think I should go. I just have this feeling... like I'm meant to go." Annabeth looked at him skeptically, but shrugged. "Okay, you can come. Everyone else, go inform the demigods about their roles. FOR OLYMPUS!" she yelled. "FOR OLYMPUS!" the demigods shouted in response. Percy smiled.
"Come on! It's almost noon! Kronos will be here soon!" Thalia shouted. They ran along the roads of Olympus, trying to reach the throne room. The task wasn't easy; the road was cracked and pieces broke off, one by one. "The connection is dissolving. If it fails, the gods won't be tied to Western Civilization anymore! They'll die once the heart of the West moves." Thalia said, watching the bridge as she ran. "Oh no..." Annabeth murmured. They had reached the throne room, but the doors were already open. Kronos was already there. Inside, Percy could see him walking around smugly, talking to himself. "Which one should I destroy first? Hmmm. Oh!" he exclaimed, catching sight of the three demigods. "The daughter of Athena, the daughter of Zeus, and the unclaimed. This is who was sent to defeat me? Surely the gods could have done better.
"No matter. I will win nonetheless. Let's see. I think I'll destroy your daddy Zeus' throne first. How does that sound?" Thalia snarled. "You will not touch my father's throne, you b****(Sorry, but the nicer sounding ones didn't really fit the situation)!" she growled. Kronos laughed. "Such fire. I will remember that when I kill you in front of your dearest father." Thalia lunged with her spear, and Kronos blocked easily. Percy and Annabeth joined in, stabbing and blocking like there was no tomorrow. Percy was irritated about how he had to hold back most of his skill, but he fought anyways. Kronos froze time, smirking. Percy acted like he was affected, though he really wasn't. Kronos pulled up an Iris Message showing Typhon and the gods crossing the Hudson. The image changed to show Poseidon on the ground, Oceanus hovering over him, sword raised. Percy snarled at the image of his father, which broke Kronos' concentration.
Percy lunged at Kronos, gritting his teeth in an effort to keep holding back, but he hated it. He hated the sloppy moves he had to use, being slow, and most of all, the fact that his friends were in danger and he couldn't do anything about it. It killed him, but he ignored it. Kronos laughed at their attempts, which enraged Percy. However, instead of attacking Kronos again, he calmed down and analyzed Kronos. Kronos had obviously taken a little dip in the Styx, which explained why he didn't have a scratch on him. He also noticed that the area diagonal to Kronos' left collarbone was a little more armored than the right side. This led him to believe that Kronos' Achilles Heel was that tiny area where the left arm met the torso. Mentally smiling at this revelation, Percy leapt back into battle, aiming for the left side.
Hahahahaha! Cliffhanger! So, vote on the pairing please! I need your opinions!
