The Sky Which the Dragon Protects
Chapter 9
The next day
Tsuna's POV
When I woke up, I could hear some Guild members getting into an argument, which lead into an all-out brawl if the crashing and breaking glass noises coming from beyond the door. Do I have to go out there? I hear more yelling and sigh, ''Yes, yes I do.''
I get out of bed and walk over to the door, and when I open it the scene that met me was as bad as it had sounded on the other side of the door. I can't say that witnessing such a wide scale fight bothers me much. Considering having to listening to Lambo and I-Pin's childish arguments, which either end with Lambo pulling out grenades and I-Pin using her Gyoza fist and I get hit by their attacks instead. Or Lambo cries and shoots himself with the TYB.
I walk out a little more, almost getting hit by a table in the process, and saw that the ones in the centre of the fight were Natsu and Gray. I could hear bits of their quarrel from where I was standing. Not hard they're yelling at the top of their voices.
''Dammit Stripper, I left Tsuna in the team's care and when I come back from my 'business', I find out you lost him!'' Natsu screamed in Gray's face, while trying to strangle the said stripper. Hey where did his clothes go?
''If you'd shut up for a second, Hot-Head, you'd know that we didn't lose him…'' Gray started, but I didn't hear the rest as I saw a sword head my way.
''AAAAHHHH!'' I screamed, which got the fight to stop, and freeze in horror as the sword got closer to me.
However, luck was on my side, for once, as I heard Natsu yell out my name and I felt his arms around me, protecting me from the impending harm. Everyone released a relieved breath, then turn to glare at a still horrified Erza, who must have returned from her job early this morning.
The team rushed over to Natsu and me, ''Are you okay?'' or ''I'm so sorry, I should of paid more attention to my surroundings.'' were the things said to me. As I felt the pinkette holding me shake, I look up at him.
''Are you hurt?!'' he asked me, I shook my head, ''Positive?! YOU COULD HAVE KILLED HIM! Dammit Erza!'' the fire breathing teen yelled at the red head, with a look that should have killed her, if looks could kill. Hold on. I could have died, I could die here and one back home would know.
This sudden realisation hit like a ton of bricks, and acting the age I looked, I started to bawl and scream that I was scared, which was no act. The group that had been coddling me yesterday, came over and tried to comfort me, to no prevail. Seeing that my distress clearly wasn't being help by the crowd, Natsu picked me up and held me close and whispered comforting words into my ear while swaying/bobbling me. Surprisingly, this worked and I calmed down gripping onto the pinkette like a life line.
''What?'' I hear him snap.
I look up and see everyone in the Guild stare at us, mainly Natsu, eyes wide and jaw hitting the floor. What's with them? I look back and forth, between the Guild members and Natsu, hoping someone would explain what was so shocking.
Mirajane, a giant of a man with white hair and a scar under his right eye and some middle-aged man with a white coat and 's' shaped necklace, recovered from their shock and smiled at Natsu with knowing looks on their faces.
''You have the look of a big brother to you when you're holding that kid.'' the middle-aged man said, with a fond-fatherly look on his face.
That surprised the pinkette, and me, and he looks at me then back at the man with a face splitting grin, ''You really thinks so?''
The three, that had recovered, all nodded. A big brother, huh? Might as well, he did put up with my bawling. I smile to myself as I glance at Natsu-nii, then look at the rest of the, recovering, Guild members who all had the same looks on their faces; amused fondness.
Time skip (a few minutes later)
After explaining to Natsu-nii that I hadn't been lost and that I had stayed at the Guild, and having some breakfast. I noticed that the Guild Master was missing from the scene.
''Hey Mira-nee-chan? Where did Master Makarov go?'' I ask the white haired woman.
Mirajane smiled down at me, ''The Master had to go meet up with someone, but he should be back shortly.'' she explained.
I nodded at her and smiled, then turn my attention to the fidgeting pinkette who was irritating his team mates.
''Oi, Flame-for Brains, would you quit fidgeting already?!'' Gray snapped at Natsu.
''Hey Tsuna, you done eating yet?'' Natsu-nii called out to me, ignoring Gray.
I nod at him, which got him to rise up from where he was sitting and skip(?) over to me and picked me up, ''Good, let's go. Come on, Happy!'' he said as he rushed out of the Guild.
I heard his team yell after him, as we left and saw over his shoulder they were chasing after us. What's going on?
Time skip
Natsu's house
Just like the first time, Natsu-nii carried me all the way to his house, this time he was bouncing from foot-to-foot, out of excitement or nervousness I don't know.
As I was placed on the ground, the team ran up the path, ''Hey, Natsu! What's the big idea?!'' Gray shouted.
''Yeah, you just ran off.'' Lucy said, somewhat annoyed.
''Your behaviour is unacceptable. We were in the middle of a conversation.'' Erza lectured. Wait, did they follow us all the way here, because Natsu-nii ran off while they were talking to him. Unbelievable. But it could be an 'extremely important and can't wait for later' thing.
''Sorry guys, but I want Tsuna to get settled in as soon as possible.'' Natsu laughs off, but I could tell that he was annoyed by the mini lecture he got.
''So you finished the business you had last night?'' Gray said, raising an eyebrow, Natsu nods in reply.
Erza sighed, ''Well, can we continue our conversation inside. We'll make it quick since I don't want to impose too long.'' Liar. She must have seen the tip Natsu-nii and Happy live in.
''Also why would anyone want to talk long in a skip.'' I hear Gray whisper, knowing the real reason Erza wanting to leave ASAP.
Lucy, however, looked a little confused at what the big deal was. She probably hasn't seen what lies beyond this door.
Natsu shrugs and calls a 'Whatever' over his shoulder to his team, as he nears the door. I followed close behind him, and what I saw nearly cause me to pass out. HE CLEANED HIS WHOLE HOUSE! This is what he was doing last night?! It must have taken him all night! I can hardly believe this is the same house I saw yesterday! (A/N think of how Lucy tidied up Natsu's place in the anime/manga)
I glance at Erza and Gray, whose jaws has hit the ground for the second time today. They are clearly as shocked as me.
''Hey, Hot-Head, what happened to this place?!'' Gray asked.
Erza nodded, ''Yes, I am surprised that this could your house. It is an improvement to…before.''
Lucy looked confused at her team-mates comments, ''What do you mean?''
Gray answered, ''Natsu and Happy live here together. You more than anyone should know the mess they make. This place made a pig sty look tidy.'' he explained, Lucy's eyes widened in realisation and shock.
''So what? I tidied up the place, it wouldn't have been safe for Tsuna if the place was a tip.'' the pinkette shrugged, Happy giving an 'Aye!' in agreement. Passing it off as his idea. I smile fondly at the pink haired teen.
Time skip (late evening)
Team Natsu had talked about a job that they would be doing soon, which oddly enough Lucy was going to do by herself originally. The job in question was apparently an easy one, so I could tag along, however 'I was to stay at their accommodations just to make sure' to quote Erza.
After that, we had headed back to the Guild where I was coddled by Cana, Mirajane, Loke, the man from earlier, Macao and several others. However, Natsu-nii did ever thing he could to scare them off. Macao teased Natsu saying that he was an 'over-protective Onii-chan who didn't want to share his cute Otouto with anyone' a comment which the pinkette didn't ever deny.
Then after having dinner, for free thanks to my cuteness, Natsu-nii, Happy and I headed home. Which has led to our current position, Natsu-nii was laid out in his hammock and had me lying on his chest, with his arms wrapped around my small body protectively.
''Hey, Natsu-nii?'' I call out, when I got a 'Yeah?' I continued, ''I can't really sleep, could you tell a bit about yourself?'' I felt his body shift, so I think he had nodded.
''Sure, I was raised by a dragon called Igneel. He taught me how to read, write and use Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, but about 7 years ago he disappeared. He didn't say one word about leaving and never said goodbye, but I won't give up on looking for him.'' he said, determination in his voice.
''Cool, your dad's a dragon? That must be cool.'' I say, meaning every word.
Natsu chuckles, ''Yeah, it is. Maybe you'll meet him one day.''
I hear him talk some more but I started to drift off. I wish I could meet him too.
Apologises for any spelling/grammar mistakes I missed.
I think I rushed this chapter since I knew I wouldn't have any other time to work on it.
Also just to give you guys the heads up, I've not read the current chapters of Fairy Tail so i don't know the real reason way the dragons left, but in this fanfic I've giving my own take of the story. Most of the plot will be roughly derived from the original story, However, as I said I will change this so some characters will be introduced early than originally and some other things too.
I understand so people may not like that I'm butchering the original work, but this is just something to thought would be cool to write.
