A/N : Sorry for this super delayed update. I was clueless about how to proceed but decided to go by the plot of the movie Happy. Only the plot, mind you… scenes r not the same exactly :P

Chapter 9-
Daya goes to pick up Shreya at her home by 7PM. Shreya's dad isn't home and it made things easy for her.
Daya is waiting outside the entrance door, with his jeep parked aside. He freezes when he sees her…
Shreya steps outside wearing a shimmery pink chudidar, her hair tied up in a bun (like that women used to wear in the 70's)
She smiles at him. He too is looking dashing in that suit he wore. Bell-bottom pant, multi-coloured shirt topped with a contrast coloured white coat.
He doesn't know what to say… he continues to adore her…
"acchi nhi lag rahi hu kya?" *nervous look*
"Nahi… bohot achi lag rahi ho. 70's ki heroine ki tarah…" *smiles*
"Aww thank you, aur tum tho humesha ki tarah handsome-"
He raises his eye brow.
"kyu main apne dost ki tareef nhi kar sakti kya?"
"bilkul kar sakti ho…" *smiles*
"Lets go! Yeh mukund bhi na mujhe heart attack dilaa dega. Dad bhi aate honge lets go!"
and so dareya are set off towards the party.

At the Party-
"aagaye tum log…"
Mukund greets them.
"aana hi padega na… sach kaha na Daya?"
"haan. tumne hume itne pyar se bulaaya hai…"
Daya smiles. Shreya Mukund get into a convo-
"Mukund… phone pe kuch bol rahe the ki baat karni hai… kya hai…"
"Shreya Paul… Just wait… thoda sabr aur. Aur abhi tho tumne mujhe wish nhi kiya…"
"Ohh sorry my dear! Happy birthday yar… Love you!"
"Love you too Shrey…"
"ahem-" *Daya coughs*
"arey daro mat yeh doston k beech ka pyar hai Daya. I won't steal your girl-friend." *Mukund teases*
Daya blushes at this while Shreya just laughs
Daya- "arey yar.. mera w-woh matlub nhi tha. I meant ki main bhi tho wish nhi kiya na…"
And Daya hugs n wishes him hbd.
Mukund- "thank you… cool drinks waha hai. cake cutting se pehle chota sa dance program bhi hai.. enjoy urselves…"
Mukund leaves…
Dareya are sipping orange juice.. when they hear announcement that dance is about to begin-
Mukund- (over the mic) "Ladies n gentlemen. Are you ready to dance, ab kuch hi palon mei.. ek retro song bajega. So grab ur partners hand, jhoomo, nacho. Wait wait… partner matlub, he or she can be anyone. Your mom, dad, bro or girlfriend.. haha so lets begin this friendly dance"
a song plays. Ppl clap n soon begin to dance in pairs…
Dareya sit together by a table n watch this.
Mukund comes…
"arey come on. Dance karo guys… formal dance hi tho hai…"
"Muku… mujhe dance-"
"acche se aata hai shrey. Nhi aaya tho daya hai na?" *winks*
He leaves from there. Shreya turns to Daya…
"jaan buch k tang karta hai daya… he knows I cant dance. Ab main nachungi tho mera Mazak udaayega… I wont dance… tumhe jaana h tho jaoo…"
"kyu nhi aogi.. akele kaise jaun?"
"dekho waha individual log v dance kar rahe hai go.."
"come on.. I can teach you…"
"tumhe aati hai?"
"aise hi nhi bolunga main.. Lets go…"
Daya prods n she gives up finally,
"Oh god.. don't twirl. main gir jaungi…"
"You wont. Main tumhe girne hi nhi dunga.."
She smiles at him. He's really sweet…
He twirls her around again. Her hand is lightly placed on his shoulder. His one hand is placed on her back; other is holding her other hand.
For a moment they just stay calm occasionally glancing at each other while swaying to the tune…
The song ends. Dareya still keep looking at each other. Mukund comes n shakes them from their trance…
"kaha khogaye… uff aisa pyar sab ko mile…"
Dareya blush again.
"ab ithni anokhi mohabbat ko main uski manzil tak pohuchaaunga.."
Daya- "kya.. haha. Mukund.. tumhe bhi koi miljayegi. Don't worry.."
Shreya- "tum ithne acche ho…"
Dareya hand over the gift they brought n wish him HBD again.
Mukund- "aww so sweet thank you…"
They all together move towards where cake is placed. Mukund cuts his cake amid his loved ones who are clapping n cheering.
Mukund- "thank you friends thanks for coming! Meri birthday tho grand hoti hai humesha. But ab isey double grand manaane ka ek aur reason hai… aur woh hai… *looks at Shreya* Shreya!"
Shreya stands confused.
Mukund- "shrey, Daya, tum dono k liye ek surprise…"
Jus then two persons come from inside the house. Shreya is shocked to see them.
Shreya- "Mum! Dad?"
Mukund- "Lets clap for Shrey. Its her big day today. Shrey k parents se maine baat ki hai. and woh Daya aur Shreya ki marriage k liye raazi hogaye! So folks clap for the would-be couple!"
Dareya are baffled. While everyone clap…
Shrey's father hugs her…
Shrey's Dad- "beta.. Its my dream to see you get married soon. Because everyone in our home gets married at 25. Now Even you… we are following our tradition. God bless you beta…"
He then proceeds to hug Daya.
Shrey's Dad- "I'm sorry beta. Aapko ajeeb lag raha hoga. But main dil se aapki shadi k liye razzi hu.."
Shrey's mom too enters the scene…
Shrey's dad- "Mukund ne hi samjhaya ki tum odno ek dusre se kitna pyar karte ho.."
Shrey's mom- "pehle bataadete tho hum manaa karte kya shrey?"
Mukund intervenes….
Mukund- (over the mic.) "OK guys. Engagement aur shaadi ki date shrey ki parents fix karenge! But still Daya Shreya our love birds are getting engaged. So once again give them a big hand!"
Dareya are too shocked to say anything. All they could do was glare at Mukund who's busy in his own happy world…
Shreya's POV-
Shreya's parents are super happy. They receive best wishes from many ppl. Tears form in shreya's eyes as she sees her parents happy.
Can she break this happiness? Saying she can never ever marry him?
Oh Lord help her….
Daya's POV
Daya looks on at the family. Mukund, he scarificed his love… Shreya's parents love him as their son… mukund's friends are hugging him feeding cake… there's so much love.. so many loved ones…
He never had such ppl… who loved him… except for Abhijeet of course! He craved for a family… a family like this….
They all r happy excited about his marriage to Shreya but how can he break their hearts saying he can't marry her!?
How….
