Soo... I'm gonna dedicate this chapter specifically and ONLY to ups, or good things, that I find in fanfiction.

Next few chapters may or may not be this as well.

So let's talk about OC's.

Yes, the unforgivable sin, making an OC. Blah blah. We've all done it once. Mostly. We've speculated a 'what if' and created an OC to help us figure out that 'what if'. Either that or we just do it for shits and giggles.

Either way they're fun to make.

So.

Here's my guide to making a good OC.

Number 1.

Be Original.

Use some unique ideas, to twist and turn your OC and make it special. Customized, even. It can be skill, looks, personality, or hell, family. Anything that suits your fancy.

Number 2.

If OC is a ninja, be realistic.

Do NOT, EVER, have a ninja OC be impractical. That's like a shinobi running around in a loin cloth and a kunoichi in just a tube top and a skimpy skirt. Practicality is key.

Number 3.

If they have a Kekkei Genkai, don't just make it a copy of the fucking sharingan.

I am not even shitting you. I see this EVERYWHERE and it needs to be stopped. Yes, it can be a doujutsu, no, it cannot look, work, feel, or BE like the Sharingan, Rinnegan, or Byakugan. Don't use an already used idea. Also, weaknesses in a Kekkei Genkai are good to have.

Number 4.

NO SAKURA REPLACEMENTS/LOOK ALIKES/ COPY CATS.

Sure, Sakura's place on team 7 can be re-arranged if the re-arrange makes SENSE, but holy shit she is immensely important to that team. She is the glue that holds Naruto and Sasuke together. She latches onto Sasuke, and Naruto latches onto her. She glues it together and you CANNOT remove that. Your OC also can't look exactly like sakura except 'TEH CULURZ R DIFFRENT!1!'. No.

Number 5. Final.

DO NOT HAVE THE MAIN CAST ACT OOC AROUND YOUR CHARACTER!

Oocness is a major turnoff in a story and pushes reviewers and readers away. It also classifies your OC as a sue (by my standards, anyway.)
