Sorry this took so long to get up and sorry it's short and if it doesn't make sense. I've been focusing more on my other work and i recently found out that I'm most likely moving so i haven't really focused all of my energy on writing. I hope you like this small chapter and i hope it makes sense. This story might also end up going on hiatus as it is also Christmas time in the real world! WOOHOO!
Anyway, i hope you enjoy
It was late into the night and Ashton was laying on her room. Emma, Tyler and Jason had gone and stayed at friends houses, but Ashton had decided to stay home as she had homework to do and she had also enjoyed spending time alone with her parents, both having gone upstairs to bed just an hour earlier.
Ashton was watching a show on home décor when a loud knocking came from the front door. Panicking slightly, Ashton put the show on mute and then held the remote up as a weapon in case as she walked over to the door. However, when she looked out of the peephole, she quickly put the remote down and opened the door to reveal Dylan, his hair a mess, his eyes rimmed with red and his clothes all crinkled, sweat pants and an old looking t-shirt his wardrobe.
"Dylan. What happened?" Ashton asked and he just stumbled through the doorway, standing in the middle of the living room before his knees buckled and he fell to his knees, Ashton quickly locking the front door before to his side.
"Hey. Don't do this. Please Dylan." Ashton said, but Dylan just stared at the ground.
"Dylan, look at me. Please." Ashton said, her hands resting on his cheeks and he slowly lifted his gaze up to hers, his eyes full of tears.
"What happened?" Ashton asked and Dylan looked back down.
"It's all my fault. Everything that happened. It was my fault. I deserved it." Dylan said and Ashton forced him to look back up.
"Don't you ever say that again. You didn't deserve any of what you got. You deserve so much better than what you had." Ashton said.
"But now I have no family left. I have no one." Dylan said, the tears beginning to roll down his cheeks.
"You have me. I know I'm not much but I am here. You aren't alone and you have no one. You have me." Ashton said and Dylan nodded as she wiped the tears from his eyes and then took the bottle from his hand.
"Come with me." Ashton said, helping him up and then leading him outside, closing the back door behind her and then playing a song on her phone, setting it on the outside table before turning to Dylan and taking his hands.
"Dance with me. Let the music take over." Ashton said and Dylan nodded, listening to the soft melody of the song, the two taking each other's hands and then beginning to dance, both perfectly in sync with the music, their eyes locked.
From upstairs, Sam and Freddie had both woken up and they had looked out of their window to see Ashton and Dylan dancing.
"When did he get here? And isn't he her dance instructor or something?" Freddie asked Sam tiredly and she nodded.
"But how did you know?" Sam asked.
"I met him when I took Ash to dance. He's a good kid." Freddie replied and Sam nodded, the two falling silent as they watched the two dance.
As the song came to an end, the song being Can I Have This Dance from High School Musical 3, Dylan and Ashton slowed, their eyes still locked together, both feeling comfortable in the other's arms.
"You aren't alone. You never were." Ashton said and Dylan nodded, running his fingers gently through her hair, Ashton grabbing his hand when it hand gotten to the end of her now short hair.
"Thank you Ashton." Dylan whispered and Ashton softly smiled, her free hand going to his cheek. After a moment, both slowly and unconsciously leant in, their lips softly brushing together for a few moments, both instantly feeling breathless.
"Um, should we do something?" Freddie asked Sam from upstairs and she sighed.
"Not unless it goes too far. That's if she doesn't push him into the pool." Sam said and Freddie smiled slightly as he wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, kissing her neck softly.
"Hmm." Sam hummed softly as she leant into him, her arms folding over his, her hand gently resting over his injured one. The two then stood like that for a few minutes as they watched their daughter and Dylan, watching as their seemingly gentle kiss got deeper, their arms wrapping around each other and their lips moving in perfect sync.
The next morning at 10am, Sam and Freddie were in the kitchen making breakfast when the front door opened and Clarissa, Emma and Carly walked in.
"Normally you aren't home until dinner time." Sam said as Emma sat down on a stool and she huffed, crossing her arms.
"Uh oh. What happened?" Freddie asked and Carly sighed.
"I wouldn't let her throw water balloons out of the window at the next door neighbour." Carly replied.
"That's all you're upset about Emma?" Sam asked and Emma glared at her.
"Emma, just wait until your brothers get home and then you can get them okay? No charges can be filed then." Freddie said and Emma's face lit up.
"Thank you daddy." Emma said and Freddie smiled before music came in from outside and laughing followed it.
"Uh, who's out there?" Clarissa asked.
"Emma and Dylan. He stayed over last night." Sam replied and Emma choked on the coffee she had taken from Freddie.
"He stayed over?" Emma asked.
"Yeah. He and Ashton fell asleep on the couch. He's a good kid." Freddie replied.
"Okay. Who are you and what have you done with my father?" Emma asked and Freddie rolled his eyes.
"Blame the antibiotics." Sam replied and Freddie sighed before taking a piece of her toast and biting into it.
"Hey. That was mine." Sam said.
"Not anymore." He replied before walking over to the couch and sitting down, turning the TV on.
"Wow. I've never seen you let him have your food before." Clarissa said.
"It doesn't happen that often. He's just lucky today." Sam said
"Wow. Those two can dance." Carly said and the other three females walked over to the book door to see Dylan and Ashton on the basketball court dancing to Can I Have This Dance, actually dancing and not just swaying.
"Isn't the song they were playing last night?" Freddie asked and Sam nodded.
"Yeah, but now they're actually dancing to it." Sam said.
"They actually look like they could be a couple." Clarissa said and Sam and Freddie looked at each other before going back to what they had been doing, Sam walking back into the kitchen and Freddie watching TV.
"Where have I heard this song from?" Emma asked.
"High School Musical 3. Ashton and Tyler did the dance remember? They practice it for like 3 hours before they showed us last Christmas as a present for your parents." Clarissa said and Emma nodded.
"Oh yeah. It was so-they're kissing." Emma said suddenly and Sam and Freddie looked at each other again.
"They saw us. Quick scatter." Carly said and the three quickly moved away from the door and went to the kitchen, Sam taking a fresh coffee over to Freddie as Emma was still drinking his other one.
"Thank you." Freddie said and Sam smiled, leaning down to kiss him as Ashton and Dylan walked inside, the music now off.
"The door is made of glass. We can see you." Ashton said and Emma, Clarissa and Carly looked at each other.
"Sorry." Emma said.
"So I'm guessing you two are together from the kiss you just shared." Clarissa said and Emma face palmed.
"Are you serious?" She asked and Clarissa shrugged.
"What? I'm curious." Clarissa said.
"Well, I don't just kiss random people do i?" Ashton asked and Dylan half smiled.
"Alright. You guys ready to head to the mall? You're still on for the arcade right?" Sam asked and Ashton nodded.
"Yeah. But we could just take the bus." Ashton said and Sam shrugged.
"Saves money that way. And anyway, I need to take your dad to the hospital to see if he can come off of the antibiotics yet." Sam said and Ashton nodded.
"Okay. Come on. We'll go and wait by the car." Ashton said, taking Dylan's hand and pulling him towards the front door.
"Alright. We'll be back in about half an hour if there's no issues. I'll call the house if I'll be longer than that." Sam said and Carly nodded.
"I'll stay here until you get back. I have nothing on today thankfully." Carly said and Sam nodded before she grabbed her car keys and she and Freddie walked out of the front door after Ashton and Dylan.

It was almost an hour and a half later when Sam and Freddie got home and Freddie looked sort of out of it.
"I'm guessing he's still on the antibiotics." Carly said and Sam nodded, directing him to the couch.
"They had to give him a stronger dose because the cut isn't healing. They took the bandage off and it was filled with blood yet when we cleaned it last night it was fine. But his hand was dripping blood so they upped the dosage so he's going to be fun to be around for the next couple of days." Sam said and Carly sighed.
"You love drugged up Freddie. He's so cute and even happier than normal." Carly said.
"Yeah, but he also cries so much easier and that's not so fun." Sam said.
"Oh please. You love when he gets upset because he always wants to cuddle and don't lie. You're a cuddle bug. I remember from all of those cuddle moments I walked into when you were teens and when we were in college." Carly said and Sam slapped her arm.
"Shut up Shay." Sam said and Carly stuck her tongue out at her.
"Sammy." Freddie said and Sam turned around to Freddie trying to turn on the TV.
"It won't turn on." He said and Carly tried not to laugh.
"Oh baby. You have to press the on button." Sam said, leaning over him and pressing the red on button, the picture flickering onto the screen.
"Wow. How did you do that?" He asked and Sam took the remote as he went to look at it closer.
"Why don't you just watch a movie? It can be anything you want okay?" Sam said.
"Will you watch it too?" He asked.
"Carly and I already have plans." Sam said and Freddie sighed.
"Okay." He said and Sam kissed the side of his head, she and Carly watching as he laid down and stared straight on at the TV, his eyes glued to the screen.
"Well, this should be fun."
