Military Operations Airspace Sector B7R.

Year 3241, Day 181.

Miles was lead plane in a flight of four aircraft; two GF-18C's which included himself, and two GF-16C's. All were Mobian Kingdom Acorn pilot trainees. They were cruising at 300 knots, 10,000 feet AGL in standard "4" wedge formation waiting for the training exercise to begin.

Miles was still feeling a bit disappointed with King Elias's decision to put him into the kingdom's new air corps so quickly. He wanted to do more ground pounding military work first to gain experience. But he sighed internally knowing that he already had plenty of experience in land, sea, and air combat from his years as a freedom fighter and Team Fighters. All boot-camp and this training did was add icing to his experience cake. Not surprisingly, he was chosen to take lead in this flight of rookies for this first air-to-air exercise. He was determined to make a name for himself, knowing they were about to take on experienced Overlander G.U.N. pilots.

Suddenly the radio cracked to life, "All pilots, this is AWACS Sky-Eye. I'm in command of this exercise. All Acorn units sound off with call-sign and flight position."

"Tallman 6, Number four."

"Striker 10, Number three."

"Ragweed 8, Number two."

Miles chuckled. "Ragweed? Really Tom?" Then he keyed his mic, "Firefox 1, Flight lead."

"Roger that Acorn Pilots. G.U.N Pilots, Sound off.

"Wardog 7, Number four."

"Razgriz 6, Number three."

"Garuda 5, Number two."

"Mobius 1, Flight Lead."

"Roger that, all flights confirmed; begin exercise. Firefox 1, multiple Eggman aircraft have entered our airspace. Eliminate them and protect Empire City at all costs. Bogeys are at vector 265, 15 miles."

Miles keyed the mic. "Copy that, Sky-Eye. Moving to intercept." Miles then cut the mic to his flight's own frequency. "Ragweed, you and Tallman go 20,000 feet and follow in trail. Striker, stay on my ass and follow me in."

The Raccoon keyed his mic, "Firefox, this is Striker, you heard the call signs, Mobius 1 is in action. You know we are in deep shit."

The squirrel keyed his mic. "Oh give it a rest, Dave. He's good, but he'll have to prove he's the best. After all, we got Tails leading us, he's been air batting since he was 8 years old."

The Sloth keyed his mic, "Ragweed will second that. Lead the way, FIRE FOX!"

Miles shook his head, "All right, all right! Stick to call signs and knock off the chatter. Go to 500 knots and keep your heads on a swivel."

A minute passed, then the radio lit up. "This is Tallman, I got visual on four GF-15's, they're on the deck at vector 216!"

Miles looked down and saw the line formation of fighters. Mobius 1 was lead. His GF-15 easily recognizable by its blue colored wing tips. Just then all 4 fighters split into different directions at once. Miles keyed the Mic. "Sky-Eye, we have visual on the bogeys. Four GF-15's, they're taking evasive action."

"Confirmed, Cleared to Engage."

Miles dumped the stick over and dove for the deck, switching the radio again. "Stay in pairs, pick a bandit and take it out!" Miles hit the throttle and went for the stand out GF-15. "Okay Mobius 1, let's see what you can do."

As he and Striker pulled on the Mobius 1's rear, the fighter suddenly went afterburner and pulled a high "G" left turn and rocketed for the sky. The radio, crackled to life again. "This is Striker, we got a bandit on our six!"

Miles saw the plane, "It's Wardog! Cut right, I'll go left, we'll scissor him out!"

And the dogfight was on.

Planet Moebius

Mobotropolis.

Construction site of Scourge's Coliseum Arena

Suddenly a fist smashed out from the rubble pile, and out flew a gold colored Super Scourge. He looked at the now terrified Fiona, "Hey baby, like my new look?"

"Oh fuck me" Miles thought as he forced himself in front of Fiona.

Scourge raised his arms up and violently smashed the ground with a glowing burst. This sent a shockwave through the ground several feet high, hitting everyone throughout the arena.

Blaze went airborne and wasted no time attacking. She fired a massive fire steam at the Hedgehog. "DIE!"

Scourge zoomed through it like it was nothing and punched Blaze in the gut, sending her flying hundreds of feet back into the upper decks of the bleachers.

Down below, Marine crawled to a laser pistol, picked it up and fired at Scourge from a sitting position.

Scourge took the hits like nothing as he bolted down to her instantly, grabbed her wrist and twisted up; violently fracturing her arm like a snapped twig.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHH" Marine screamed.

Zooming as fast as his tails could push him, Miles grabbed up Nack's Sniper Rifle and zipped back around toward Scourge, just in time to see what happened. Marines blood-curdling scream piecing his ears. He kick-flipped himself airborne, flying just mere feet over Scourge as he aimed and fired the rifle point blank range at the back of his head. Then he rolled out to a stand several feet behind them.

Scourge recoiled from the hit, but took no damage. He tossed Marine aside and marched toward the Fox.

BLAM, chk-chack, BLAM, chk-chack, BLAM! Miles fired at Scourge with the bolt-action rifle, watching in frustration as the .30 caliber rifle rounds did nothing more than minor impact recoils to the hedgehog. Miles still stood his ground and fired away.

Once close enough, Scourge slapped the rifle away, grabbed the Fox's right shoulder with his left hand, and knee'd the Fox in the gut in gut three times in less than a second. Then uppercut punched the Fox's chin, sending him airborne about fifty feet to a brutal landing on a pile of broken scaffolding and wood.

Scourge smiled in a joyful yet evil way as he looked over to the red vixen on his right. She was on the ground shaking in fear. Just then a barrage of laser fire started hitting him. The resistance movement and free slaves had surrounded him and fired away with all they had. Scourge smiled inwardly. "Time to crush this resistance for good."

Alicia Acorn was some distance on the opposite side of the arena and had just seen what transpired. "Oh my, we are all sooo dead." She ran towards the smashed pile that Tails landed in and dug through the debris, finding the Fox face-down convulsing from what were probably massive internal injuries from Scourge's brutal hits. "Tails, can you hear me?"

"Uggghhhh, (breathing fast and hard) "Sa..Sal…br..br..bring…cha…beryl…n.. !"

"Mi..I mean…Tails...it's over. He's going to win. Do you have a way to get your world? We need to go now while we still can. Your Sonic can go Super form and fight him."

Suddenly, the Fox paused his breath. Shaking, he looked at her with a look to kill while reaching out, grabbing her left arm hard, "Bring to the Beryl to me….(long breath)…NOW...before I….DIE!"

For some reason she didn't know, she complied with his demand. She left him and ran toward the debris pile of what once was the central control tower. Alicia hopped down into the hole Scourge came out of earlier and dug around.

In the background, laser fire, screams, and lots yelling could be heard as Scourge was punishing all who fought him.

Desperately, the former princess dug through the dirt and rubble, finally finding one apple sized chunk of chaos Beryl, "Oh boy, I hope this works." She climbed out of the hole just as a resistance friend landed on the ground next to her with a thud. He had a broken neck and was dead. She sprinted back to Tails, who had now gone still. She fell before him and started to shake him. "Tails, I got the Beryl! Please….WAKE-UP!"

Miles sprang back with a painful breath inhale and saw the Beryl in Alicia's hand. His hands shaking, he cupped them together over his chest. "G..G..Give it….mmm..me."

Alicia set the gem into his open hands and watched as Tails closed his eyes and started muttering barely audible words in some kind of incantation. Suddenly all her fur started to stand on end as if she was enveloped in an electrical field. In fear she backed away some feet and watched as some kind of aura slowly enveloped the Fox like an energy cocoon. After a few seconds, it quickly faded away revealing Tails on his knees. He had an orange aura about him, and was donning a red cape with some kind of red and white outfit. He looked a bit more physically ripped than before like he was an Olympic athlete.

Miles, now in Turbo form, took a deep breath and opened his eyes to see the stunned Alicia standing before him.

"I…didn't know… you had this ability" Alicia stammered out.

"I'm the Chosen one. I brought balance to my Universe. I can harness any Chaos energy for my needs. Although I don't I think your universe is as compatible, I don't feel like I'm at full strength."

Suddenly a boom was heard behind him.

Miles looked back over his shoulder, "But it will have to do."

Scourge smashed down the Kintobor built robot that had fired on him. He looked around as everyone, even his own guards were fleeing from the coliseum. "Heh! You will all bow before me!" He started spinning in place extremely fast, which created a twister, pulling everyone from all around back toward him. One of the resistance fighters actually got sucked into the twister only to be thrown away again into the bleachers. Scourge stopped and looked around and all the people beneath him. He hissed, "Now…bow before me. Some of the Slaves and guards went to their knees and bowed in total fear. Others, which included the remains of the resistance movement and Blaze's people stood there in defiance. One actually flipped him the bird. That one was Buns, Alicia's number two in command of the resistance movement.

Scourge saw it, zipped down to her, and kicked her knee straight in, shattering it and fracturing her leg.

Buns screamed and fell to the ground.

Scourge stood over her. "I said bow to me" he said in a low deadly tone.

In horrible pain, Bun's reached up and boldly flipped him the bird again.

Scourge reared back readying to smash her face in. Suddenly something crashed into him, sending him into the coliseum wall. Scourge instantly recovered to see Tails in some kind of super form, hovering over him. "GRRRR! (through clenched teeth) YOU AGAIN!? Why won't you just DIE!" He shot toward the fox in a ball, only to be smashed away by the Fox's two swinging tails, sending him into the upper rafters.

Miles took the moment to look around. Then he yelled in a thunderous voice. "Everyone, exit the arena. Gather up the wounded and get to cover and safety." He scanned the crowd, and finally spotted Fiona next to Marine.

Fiona set Marine's arm back, admiring how the raccoon was able to take the pain. Using a found piece of cut 2X4 wood and some engineering tape, she splinted her arm. In her head, she knew this was only delaying the inevitable. Scourge would probably kill her soon enough. She cried aloud as she worked, feeling hopeless, trying to ignore the sounds of others dying and suffering under her husband's wrath.

A burst of wind suddenly began to suck them both toward a tornado on the other side of the arena, Fiona jumped on top of Marine trying to protect her from flying debris as they slid on the ground about a hundred feet. After the twister subsided she rolled off the Raccoon and saw Scourge hovering over them all demanding their submission.

Marine grabbed a rock on the ground with her good arm hand and reared back to throw it at him. Fiona stopped her by tackling her to the ground. "Please stop! Don't resist, he'll kill you." Marine struggled and eventually shoved the pleading Fox off her and readied to throw again; only to see Scourge get plowed by an orange glow.

After a moment of anxious pause, Fiona's defeated mindset suddenly found a spark of hope seeing Turbo Tails smash her husband away like a fly. "Oh my God, can this be real?"

Marine looked over and punched Fiona's shoulder hard, then nodded a smile at the surprised Vixen's look.

Fiona looked up again, hearing the super fox speak to everyone; then he looked right at her. They locked eyes with each other. She could feel him through his look, his strength and refusal to quit. Then he winked before going back to work on her husband.

Fiona, overwhelmed by it all, let her head drop as she cried and thanked God for him. Miles Prower, her personal savior. She was then brought out of the moment by Marine's jabs. She looked to see Marine pointing to the spot in the upper decks that Blaze had landed earlier. Fiona nodded and wiped her eyes. "Okay, let's go get her." They both jogged through the mayhem toward Blaze.

"GRRRAGH" Both Miles and Scourge wrestled in mid air struggling to get the upper hand.

"What are you fighting so hard for, Fox?" He punched Miles in the face breaking the grapple hold.

Miles recovered, "For God and Country, for my family and friends, for freedom of these people, and for stopping an evil tyrant like you. Keep checking the boxes, Sonic. Face it, you're going down tonight! RAAAAH!" Miles zoomed and took Scourge to the ground, and started smashing punches into his gut and jaw.

Scourge kicked him off and then hit him with a spindash. "Don't call me that name! I'M SCOURGE!"

Miles slowly got back to his feet. "Keep telling yourself that….Maurice!"

"GARRRRGH!" Scourge charged him and smashed him into the arena wall, going clean through it and out into the distance. As this was happening, Scourge began punching his face.

Marine led the way as Fiona and a few of Blaze's people ran up the stairs to the bleacher deck that Blaze crashed into. When they got there, Blaze was struggling to get to her feet. She had a clearly visible dislocated right shoulder.

"Baaa" Marine spouted out as she went o her side to help her stand.

Blaze groaned in pain. "Uggggh, I can't believe this! How could Scourge survive? I blew that tower to pieces!"

Fiona came up to her injured side, "Hang on, let me set your arm." She grabbed her right arm, moved it into the proper position, and pulled.

CRICK!

"AHHH!" Blaze keeled over in pain, but then moved her arm all around and recovered. "Ugh, thank you. Wait, where is Scourge?"

"Tails is Super-powered, and they're duking it out now" came a Koala Blaze recognized as one of Marine's crew members.

Blaze's eyes went wide and she looked at Fiona.

Fiona nodded, "Like Sonic, he has that ability." Fiona sighed and looked over the horizon behind them. "And he's our only hope."

750 miles to the south.

"DAAHHH!" The vicious hit sent Miles careening into the side of the Volcano; which was slowly erupting lava down its slopes.

Scourge used his power and summoned clumps of lava and rock together into a large ball dozens of feet in diameter. "Bye fox!" Then he heaved it straight at Tails.

Miles saw it coming, "Oh…shhhh. He dove into a spindash and just missed the boulder as it smashed into the slope. Miles rolled out to a stand and took an aggressive posture glaring up at Scourge. Then he heard a noise behind him. He turned to look, "Crap!" Suddenly a massive lava flow swallowed him up like a tsunami wave.

Scourge laughed maniacally at the site.

Like lightning, Miles burst out of the lava, flew straight at Scourge and connected a huge uppercut punch to his jaw. This sent the hedgehog flying to the ground, carving a swath into the dirt as he crash landed.

Mobotropolis.

The whole city was descending in to chaos as pro-Scourge groups fought against Alicia's forces. And caught in the middle of it all were Blaze's people, desperately trying to group together just outside the arena.

Fiona stayed glued to Blaze as they ran around gathering up everyone up. They eventually ran into Alicia who was helping the wounded Buns out of the Arena.

Fiona spoke first, "Alicia, what is going on here?! We've had several people get hit by stray laser fire!"

Alicia had Buns slung over her shoulder as she glared at the vixen. "What do you think?! With your husband gone my forces are taking over."

"Well can you hold off on the civil war until after we get Blaze's people out of here? They've already lost their whole world; do they need to go through this hell too?"

Alicia shook her head. "It's out of my hands now." And she kept walking toward the city. Suddenly a swath of flame stopped them in their tracks.

Blaze approached with a deadly glare and flames emanating from her fur. "If one more of my people gets injured by this madness, I will turn this entire planet into one big burned out cinder."

Buns and Alicia stared blankly at the flaming cat.

Blaze held her flaming right hand up. "An eye for an eye, a world for a world. Should I start with you two?"

Quickly Alicia grabbed for Bun's earpiece radio and started barking cease fire orders to her forces. The act caused Buns to accidently put weight on her broken leg. She screamed and fell to the ground as Alicia walked away yelling into the Mic.

Instinctively Fiona came to Bun's aid, only to have the Rabbit slap her away in disgust.

"Don't ya tach me ya slut! Fucking stupid whore bitch, yah did this to us! You broke Scourge out and brought his rule to us. YAH DID IT!"

Fiona stammered in a low voice, "I..I didn't want…all this….I.."

SHAT UP! Don't pretend to be on the good side now! Yah know you deserve what yah got! Yah deserved ta have that baby of yours killed for what you did!"

Fiona was frozen solid by the words. She stood there unmoving for a few seconds before emotionlessly turning and walking away.

"Yeah, walk away. Yah good for that! BECAUSE YAH KNOW I'M RIGHT! Ahhh, (cries) dirty…ffffucking whore!"

Blaze watched as Fiona walked away like a lifeless zombie back in to the arena. Part of her felt some concern for the fox, but the truth was she really didn't care at this point. She was more inclined to side with the foul mouthed rabbit in this case.

Alicia came back over, "Okay, it's done! I got my forces to cease fire until you move your people into the clear."

Blaze looked at her unconvinced. "And where is the clear you speak of?"

Fiona walked into the coliseum and looked at all the carnage around her. At least twenty people were dead, their bodies strewn about the unfinished pit. Her mind wandered as she kept hearing Bun's cold-hearted words play over and over again. She had tried so hard to put it past her, but she couldn't. And now all the emotions of that night came back full force.

Flashback 1 year ago.

Fiona had just come from the hospital, everything had checked out. Her "boy" was healthy and developing normally. She just wished she could say the same for her life on Moebius.

Fiona had felt sick over Scourge's recent conquest. He had destroyed an entire world. Who knows how many millions perished. She knew in her heart he didn't do it on purpose, he just wanted to get the Sol Emeralds. But the fool didn't listen to the princess cat's warnings. Now only 3000 of her people remained; forced to work as slaves for their kingdom.

She tried to brush it aside though. She was not going to let the world's events ruin this moment for the two of them. She was going to be a mother, and was not going to let her child go through what she went through. She just hoped the birth would change Scourges demeanor too.

Her escorts brought her to the castle where she walked in and slowly made her way up the stairs, refusing the servant's offer to assist her. Eight months pregnant, yet she still refused to let herself be helped. She had done everything on her own before, so she wasn't going to change, not even for this time in her life.

Once she got to the top of the stairs she called out for her husband; hoping to see his heart-melting smile as she gave him the good news. There was no response though and she made her way through the long hallway to their chamber. "I bet he passed out drunk again." She walked into the bed-chamber, "Hey man of mine, guess wh…..(Gasp)."

On the bed, she caught the stunned hedgehog on top of Blaze in the middle of intercourse. The Cat had the green control collar on, so obviously this act was far from consensual for her.

Scourge stopped in mid-thrust, "Oh shit, hey babe…uh…"

"Wha…how could…..?" It was like the world suddenly crashed in on her. She suspected the possibility that he had slept around on her before, but she had foolishly convinced herself that she was "his" special girl, and wouldn't do that, especially now. Not to be. Fiona stormed out of the room slamming the door.

Scourge hopped off Blaze and ran after her. "Stay there cat, I'll be right back!"

"Yes master" Blaze responded. A tear trickled down from her right eye moments after.

Totally naked; Scourge ran after Fiona. "Babe wait! Hey, get back here!"

"I can't believe you! You stupid…" she was cut off by his hard grab of her left arm.

"I SAID WAIT!"

She could smell the hard liquor on his breath. "Oh…is this your next excuse. (In a mocking voice) Oh babe, I'm sorry, I was just drunk, that's why I raped the slave princess while you were in the hospital."

He violently grabbed her by both arms. "SHUT UP! We haven't done it in months and I'm king! I have fucking needs, okay?"

Fiona looked at him in disbelief, "I can't believe you just said that. I'm pregnant for God's sake!" She brought her right hand up to his face and rubbed the side of his left cheek. "What happened..(Sob)… what happened to you?"

"Babe, just calm down! That chick in there….. she's immaterial. She's only for fun, you're my…..."

"You….cheated on me….I thought we were…..(crying loudly)."

"Fuck babe, get a grip! It's not a big deal. IT MEANS NOTHING" he growled at her.

"SCOURGE?! (Sob) Look at me! What do you think is going to happen to her in eight months? WHAT THEN?! Am I just going to be downgraded to another concubine of yours, and your son another random bastard child?"

"RELAX!" He reached down and pulled off his rather bloody condom and held it up. "See, no problem with the kids."

Fiona exploded. "YOU SICK FUCK! GET AWAY FROM ME!" She jerked herself away from him, but he grabbed her again and viciously slapped her across the face.

"(Gritted teeth) "STOP IT RIGHT NOW BEFORE I HIT YOU AGAIN!"

The fight was on. She fought back and kicked him as hard as she could in his fully exposed private area.

"GAAAH! You stupid bitch…" He gripped her hard and threw her with all his might to the left; right at the main stairwell drop.

Fiona saw herself heading for the stairs. She was in such horror from the moment she couldn't scream. She landed right on the top of the stairs and rolled down, tumbling in all different directions, bouncing off the side railing at least twice before slamming to the floor at the bottom.

At the top of the stairs, Scourge looked down at her, seemingly in shock at what he just did.

Fiona rolled onto her back, taking in the horror of what just happened. She could feel that her left arm was broken, but that pain seemed trivial to the more searing pain in her abdomen. This was followed by the feeling of wetness forming between her legs. She knew what just happened. "Oh no…not my….AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHHH" she screamed out in horror like she had never screamed before, and didn't stop.

Scourge stood there for a few seconds before yelling for his servants to go help her.

Back to present.

Tears flowed from Fiona's eyes. They had to take her deceased baby out, leaving a long scar on her abdomen; a permanent reminder of the consequences of her stupidity. She remembered how she felt when she stared at her baby boy's corpse after the surgery. She thought about all the other innocent children killed by her husband on Blaze's world. She forever changed on that day, realizing that Sonic and Tails were right all along…about everything. She had been so wrong and so stupid, and thus paid a high price for not listening to them. So many others also paid a high price because of her, and she knew it.

Fiona walked to the brick pile that she and Miles had taken cover behind earlier and found the equipment strap and handgun he'd left there after Patch was taken out. She picked up the now dusty handgun seeing it was empty. She dug through the equipment carrier, and found a loaded magazine.

She cried as she reloaded the gun. "And now Tails is fighting his ass off for me, when I don't deserve it." She looked at the handgun, admiring its features before slowly bringing it up to bottom of her jaw at an angle that would send the bullet through her head. Then she slowly began to depress the trigger.

Alicia elected to have her forces group together and escort Blaze's people to the King's Castle. There they would set up a base of operations and protect them until someone can warp ring them out of here. It took several minutes, but they were able to gather up all 2,722 of Blaze's people, and slowly walked the group toward the castle. Alicia stayed behind though. After helping Buns onto a stretcher carried by her soldiers, she walked back to the arena with a laser rifle in hand.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Alicia jumped from being startled. She turned to see Blaze glaring at her. "I'm just taking care of some unfinished business."

"You mean you're planning to go in there to kill Fiona Fox" Blaze said crossing her arms.

Alicia stepped towards her with an aggressive pleading look. "You're damn right I am! YOU, of all people know she deserves to die with Scourge."

Blaze shook her head slightly. "I did feel that way, but as my memories of enslavement slowly come back to me, I'm not so sure anymore."

Alicia went face to face with her, "How many times did she join in on Scourge's rape sessions with you? I know my count!"

Blaze looked at her with mild acknowledgement, but was hesitant. "I vaguely remember her being there once, but she looked…beaten….defeated…like she had no choice but to do as he commanded."

"There is always a choice" Alicia snapped, charging the laser rifle and then putting a hand on Blaze's shoulder, "He tortured us, violated us, took away what dignity we had, and she did NOTHING to stop it. Not to mention all those he killed. My mate…..your people."

Blaze stared back at her blankly.

Alicia went closer to her face and spoke low, "Princess to princess, you and I, we deserve retribution for this. Some kind of satisfaction to recuperate what was taken from us."

Blaze slowly nodded.

Alicia's face lit up joyously, "So you'll let me do it?"

Blaze realized then how much she had changed from all that had happened. Here another victim of the same was asking her to join in on cold blooded murder, and she was struggling horribly to find a sliver of reason to resist. Sighing in defeat, she nodded and walked with Alicia into the arena. Once there they looked around, and saw Fiona sitting on top of a pile of bricks with a gun in hand.

Alicia aimed the rifle at Fiona as she hurried over to her, Blaze only slowly following. Once close, Alicia spoke up, "Drop the gun you bitch!"

Fiona just sat there unmoving, her face in a trance like state.

"I said drop it!"

"What are you waiting for, Alicia" Fiona finally spoke out softly.

Expecting deception, she held the rifle firm and aimed right for her face, "This is all your fault!"

"I couldn't stop him" she said very low.

"YES YOU COULD HAVE! Now drop the gun and stand up!"

"Why won't you just kill me" Fiona said, again barely audible.

Alicia was stopped by question, but shook it off. "I want to look you in the face when you die! I want to watch the life slip away from you, just like you two did to my Miles!"

"I tried to stop him" Fiona said, still unmoving.

"YOU SHOULD HAVE SLIT HIS THROAT IN HIS SLEEP!"

Blaze watched the drama unfold before her and realized that Alicia was hesitating. "Why is she hesitating?" Blaze tried hard to remember more.

"I tried to stop him" Fiona said yet again, her pale emotionless face unchanging.

Alicia was frustrated, "You should have tried harder!"

"He was too strong" Fiona said barely audible.

"LIAR!"

"He ruined all our lives." Fiona looked up at her. "I know you once loved him too, and he destroyed you just like he did me."

Alicia threw the rifle down, stormed over, and punched Fiona in the face. The hit sent the vixen flying over the pile of bricks she was on to the dirt on the other side. Alicia marched over and started kicking the fox over and over, anywhere she could. Growing ever more frustrated that the fox wasn't putting up any fight. She then straddled the fox 's back and started slamming her face into the dirt over and over again. "You..(slam)…fucking…(Slam)..stupid…(Slam)….bitch! I HATE YOU!"

Finally the memories came back and Blaze ran over and pulled Alicia off of Fiona. "ENOUGH! Why are you doing this?"

Alicia struggled, "What do you mean?! I'm trying to finish her off!"

"No you're not! You're prolonging this! WHY?"

Alicia finally broke free and confronted Blaze standing.

Blaze stood there undeterred, "She's telling the truth, isn't she?"

"What?!"

"She did try to stop him. I remember now. Scourge beat her all the time. I saw it happen with my own eyes."

"She didn't do enough!"

"So you admit it. She did try to save your Mate?"

"She…graaah! She barely put up a fight!" Alicia fell to the ground and pounded on the soil with her right hand. "I could hear him screaming through the dungeon halls and as that bastard tortured him to death!"

"But was Fiona a willing participant?"

Alicia glared at her in frustration, "Does it matter?!"

"Yes, it does."

"Why?"

"What do you mean why? If Fiona is innocent….or at least tried to resist, why should we punish her?"

Alicia slapped the ground in frustration "Gah, why are you doing this, Blaze?"

"Because I can not allow punishment to happen to those without justification."

"You're just being…Moral. She deserves to die."

"Then why didn't you kill her on site" Blaze said loudly as she helped the battered fox to her feet.

"I….I..just…don't know!"

Blaze looked at her sympathetically, "Understand me, I want justice too, but not like this."

"She was the devil's wife" Alicia said seethingly.

"And you were once his mate too" Blaze fired back.

Alicia glared but didn't answer back.

Blaze helped Fiona over to the brick pile so the fox could lean on something. It looked like Alicia had slammed her face into something other than dirt, as there was a deep bleeding laceration on the left side of her face. "We need to get you medical attention."

"No!" Fiona shouted, accidently spitting some blood on Blaze. "Not until Tails returns. I…WE need to make sure he's okay….and make sure my ex-husband is dead."

Alicia chucked as she stood up. "Ex?"

Fiona pulled out a diamond ring from her left pocket. "EX!" Then she threw it away as hard as her sore body would allow.

Just then a roaring sound came to the trio's ears as the ground rumbled. Then a gold glowing meteor came and smashed into the heart of the arena, sending all three women to the ground as the shockwave hit. Once the dust cleared, Scourge could be seen on top of Tails. His thunderous punches to the fox making booms as loud as gunshots. Then he picked the fox up and threw him across the arena into the opposite wall.

"Miles" Fiona screamed as she and Alicia ran to him.

Blaze on the other hand fired herself up and went before Scourge.

"Teh! You again? More annoying flames for me, kitty" Scourge said in a mocking tone.

Blaze focused all her rage to maximize her energy and fired a massive two handed burst that stuck Scourge. It took him out along with the coliseum wall and three buildings nearby. Blaze caught her breath and hoped that this time Scourge would stay down.

Fiona dove by Miles side. She was shocked to see that he had bleeding gashes all over his body and blood trickling from his mouth. "Oh my God, how is this possible, he's in super form?"

Miles struggled to get to his feet as Alicia went to help him from his left side. "Ugh, you're all still here, I told you to run!"

"It's okay, I think Blaze got him" Alicia said as he got to his feet.

"N..no. I feel it, he still full strength."

"How is this possible, he should have lost some power by now" Fiona asked as assisted Alicia.

"I don't know, but it's not over yet.

Then they heard Blaze firing more flame bursts, and then her screaming voice. Through a wall of fire came Scourge, holding Blaze in a painful behind the back arm hold. He looked like the devil walking out of hell as fire burned harmlessly on his skin.

He grinned at the trio near the wall. "Bad fire pussy cat."

Miles face riddled with horror. "Don't you dare!"

Scourge then violently twisted Blaze's left arm with both hands, fracturing it violently in two places. As Blaze screamed, he pulled her head close and slobbered a lick on the side of her left face, looking at Tails as he did so. Then he spit out a small flame, "Yuck, fiery hairball." Then he kicked Blaze's lower right leg, breaking it like a broken stick before tossing her aside to the dirt.

Miles could feel the fear in the two woman, as he pushed them away and stumbled toward Scourge. "I'll kill you…rrrrrrAGH!" Miles swung a punch at Scourge, but it was caught.

Scourge smiled evily at Miles, "Turbo Tails? Pah! Pathetic Tails is more like it!" Then he swung the fox around like he weighed nothing, slamming him around on the ground over and over again before letting go, allowing the fox to stick into the small impact crater he made. Then Scourge grabbed him by his neck with both hands, lifted him up and squeezed. "I'm going rip your head off! Then I'm going deliver it to Sonic's doorstep. Let him know who's really the king in this reality.

"Grrrgh…C…c..ffff" Miles struggled.

"Then I'll pay your parents a visit. I never had an older woman before, and I heard your mom is a MILF?"

Alicia looked and saw Fiona frozen with fear in place. She shouted at her, "Like I said, you are a coward." Then she sprinted, scooped up the laser rifle, and fired at Scourge. "DIEEEEEEEE! DAMN YOU!"

Scourge dropped Miles after the first hits and saw Alicia running at him. He stood there and took the hits boldly as Alicia went all the way to him and fired at his face point blank range. Scourge slapped the rifle away and walked at her. Alicia fought by kicking him in the face, but it was like kicking a stone wall. Then he grabbed her by both arms and lifted her off the ground. "Ahhh!"

"Hmmm, I'll always remember you, 'Licia. The one who made me a man for the first time." He buried his face in her chest, actually ripping her clothing as he sniffed her. "I can still taste you sometimes."

Miles was still disorientated as he looked up from his face-plant on the dirt and saw what was happening.

Scourge then forcefully nuzzled the side of Alicia's neck, "Kiss me once more, for old time's sake."

Alicia cleared her throat and spit a wad into his face, "Fuck you!"

"Fine, have it your way." He slowly extended her arms out and began to pull.

Miles knew Scourge was about to tear her arms out. But in his mind, it wasn't Alicia he was hurting. It was his Sally. Her scream piercing his mind like a knife, once again, bringing out the rage buried deep within him. "Not again!" Miles shot to his feet. "I WONT LET YOU HURT HER!" Miles double chopped Scourge's shoulders, forcing him to drop Alicia. Then he smashed his head with sonic-boom loud punches that actually momentarily deformed the hedgehogs face. Then he grabbed the back of Scourge's neck with his right hand and shot straight up like a rocket with him.

"AAAAARRRRGH" Scourge yelled, but it was quickly lost as they entered the vacuum of space. Looking forward, he could see the moon fast approaching.

They smashed into the moon at many thousands of miles an hour, leaving a 200 mile wide impact crater with the rippling shockwaves and ejected debris being clearly visible to all viewing on Moebius.

Miles was on top of Scourge in the heart of the crater, still holding the back of his neck. He planted his feet and then tossed Scourge up into space. Putting his hands together, he fired an energy burst right into the Hedgehog's chest, then zoomed with both fists forward into Scourge taking him back to Moebius in excess of a hundred thousand miles per hour. Miles held him in place as they re-entered the atmosphere, using the hedgehog's body like a heat shield as the fire of re-entry enveloped them both.

They streaked across the sky like a falling meteor, the shockwave sonic boom of which blew out almost every window in Mobotropolis as they flew by overhead. Then they smashed into the distant mountain peaks, going through three of them before finally crashing to a stop on the side of a fourth mountain.

When the dust cleared, Miles was on a knee breathing deeply regaining the energy he spent. He looked up and saw the gold colored hedgehog embedded back-first into the rock of the mountain. Blood was spewing from his mouth and slowly his color changed from gold back to blue. Miles smiled confidently and he stood up and marched over to him.

"Guuuuahhh, yaaauuuugh (Cough)" is what came out of Scourge's mouth along with more blood.

Miles grabbed a handful of skin and quills on the top of the hedgehog's head and dragged him along as he went airborne. Scourge made gurgling noises as they went.

Mobotropolis

Fiona had splinted Blaze's broken leg with Nacks rifle, and her arm with a cut steel rod she found in the Arena. With the Cat's good right arm over her left shoulder, and Tails handgun in her right hand, she walked Blaze through Mobotropolis with Alicia following from behind.

Members of Alicia's resistance force gradually joined them and formed up around the trio as they slowly made their way to the castle. When they arrived they were greeted by more resistance forces at the main gate, who eagerly waved them inside.

Fiona looked around and saw that all of Blaze's people had been moved into the courtyard, where the not so injured were trying to help the critically wounded.

"BAAA!"

Fiona watched as Marine ran to Blaze's left side and attempted to help her. "Careful, her arm is broken worse than yours." Once they found an open spot on the grass, they carefully lowered Blaze to the ground.

Blaze hissed and moaned in pain as she was lowered. Others gathered around, deeply concerned about their princess.

Fiona stood up, and looked at Alicia, who was in discussion with other resistance members. "Alicia, we could use some medical supplies here, do you mind getting some?"

Alicia glared back; then ordered a subordinate to retrieve the needed supplies from within the Castle.

Fiona took the moment look around; a feeling of dread then came over her. With Blaze out of commission, they were all like fish in a barrel in the courtyard. Resistance fighters were lined all over the parapets. Should Alicia turn on them, they could gun everyone down in a matter of seconds. "Oh God Miles, please be okay and hurry back." She reached down and felt the warp ring in her pocket. She edged it up for quick removal, just in case.

One mile away.

Miles floated down, landing on a road and walked forward to the castle. He was still dragging Scourge along by his head with his leather clothing, shoes, and tail quill scraping on the road as they went. The citizens of Mobotropolis lined the streets and the blown out windows of the buildings they passed. Whispering to themselves they watched in stunned amazement.

Scourge yelled out, ordering and pleading for his people to help him; no one did. Many of his Soldiers actually threw their laser rifles down and walked off for Scourge to see. Others spit, threw objects, and cursed him as they passed.

Scourge cursed them back aloud. "Fuck you then, (Cough) Fuck you all!"

Miles was unfazed by all of it, not changing his pace as he marched forward. When they approached the castle, he spoke "See what you're rule has brought you. You did all this to yourself."

"Garrgh, screw you, Tails!"

When they approached the castle gate they were greeted by Alicia and her resistance fighters. Alicia smiled gleefully at the site of Scourge crippled and humiliated like that. "Tails, you gorgeous super Fox, you did it" she joyfully spoke to him.

Miles seemingly ignored her and went right past them all. Once inside the castle, he finally spoke. "Stay down here, and protect Blaze's people until I come back. I'm taking care of this."

Alicia stopped cold and watched as Tails continued carrying him deeper into the castle. Her subordinates looked at her questioningly. She replied back by saying "Do what he says, we owe him our lives." She then went to the courtyard and looked over the mass of people, noticing that one in particular was missing. "Shit! Where did Fiona go?"

Miles dragged Scourge up a twisting stairwell to the top tower of the castle. Miles could hear him still mumbling all kinds of curses and gibberish in-between fits of coughing up blood. Once there he walked over to the edge of the parapet overlooking the courtyard. He found what he was looking for tied onto a stone cutout. He could remember Scourge using it numerous times. The horrible memories fueling his current actions, overriding his pleading internal moral compass that was telling him to not do this.

Miles slammed Scourge's head down on the stone roof, grabbed up the rope noose and then hooked it around the hedgehog's neck. Then he stood him up and faced him toward the edge.

"(Cough) Feels good doesn't it? Taking your time to kill someone, now you know how I felt every time I did it" Scourge spoke out.

Miles ignored him and forcefully tightened the noose around Scourge's neck. Then grabbed the back of his jacket and hoisted him to the edge. "All your people have turned on you. You're done for! This is to make sure no one else will ever suffer by you again!"

"Heh! (Cough) I have a strange feeling that you're not going to go through with it, Fox. You're not the murdering type."

Miles growled and went close to his ear, "You wanna bet on that?"

Chik-chak

Miles recognized the sound of a handgun slide charge and looked behind him to see Fiona, wearing his equipment strap and pointing his 10mm semi-automatic at them; pure rage plastered on her bloody beaten face.

Scourge turned to see his wife and smiled evilly. "See Fox, in the end, I still win. (Cough) Uuugh…Fi-babe, his Turbo power is low now, he can be hurt. Go on, kill this motherfucker. Then we can get out of here together."

Miles looked at Fiona, and could see that he was in her line of fire. He took a step back, from Scourge and looked at her blankly. "You're choice, Fi. You decide."

Scourge took a step away from the ledge and looked at Miles, "Heh, like she'd ever choose a pussy bitch like you over me."

BLAM!

"UUUUGGGHHHH!" Scourge recoiled from the hit. Blood started pouring out from his abdomen. He looked at his blood soaked hands and then to Fiona, who was heaving breaths out loudly. "B..b..babe….w..wwwhy?"

BLAM!

The next round hit his upper right chest area and he fell to his knees. He tried moving toward her. He begged her, "Fiiiii…uuuuugh…I…I…Love…y..y.y..you…"

BLAM!

"AAAAUUuurrrrrrghh" Scourge gurgled out after the previous round tore through his left kidney.

Fiona had tears streaming from her eyes, still holding the gun firmly. "I (sob) once loved you too." Then she squeezed the trigger again and again, emptying every round into her ex-husband, the last one blowing his head wide open. Fiona shook and fell to her knees. She started screaming aloud and cried in place.

Miles watched with sympathetic features as the vixen cried out in pain. After a few moments, he went and grabbed the rope and pulled Scourge's corpse to the edge.

Blaze hissed in pain as one of the surviving doctors of her people re-bandaged her left arm's compound fracture.

All of the sudden screams where heard from all over while others gasped.

Blazed looked around in a hurry and saw all eyes on the tallest castle tower. There swaying on a long rope was Scourge's corpse, his neck was visibly broken, and bullet hole ridden body dripping blood as it swayed in the wind. She looked up higher and saw Tails standing on the edge of the tower with his red cape flapping in the wind overlooking everyone.

"Blaze, get your people ready to move, we're leaving this planet in five minutes" Tails voice thundered for all to hear.

Blaze struggled, "Help me up." The doctor and Marine helped her to her feet as she gave commands to her people.

Miles returned his attention to Fiona. He took a knee before her. "Fi?"

Fiona dropped the gun and looked up at him. "(Sob) I'm so sorry, Tails. I'm so sorry for everything."

He put the gun in his belt. Then slowly lifted her up to her feet and hugged her tightly. "Shhh. I know you are. It's okay. It's all over now."

She returned the hug in kind and cried on his shoulder.

Below on the staircase, a pair of suddenly very jealous eyes watched the site in front of her. Then Alicia emerged from the tower stairwell. "Tails?"

Miles broke the hug and looked at the Sally doppelganger. "Yeah?"

"Blaze's people are gathering up. They'll be ready soon."

"Thanks." He held Fiona close to him as they walked past Alicia and went down the stairs together.

Year 3244 Day 170

0902 hours.

Charles Hedgehog's home in New Mobotropolis

Amadeus walked to the house, approached the door and knocked, "Charles?"

"I'm in the garage" Charles voice sounded from the right.

Amadeus walked around to the garage and saw Charles on a dolly, working underneath some kind of fancy looking wheeled vehicle. "Charles? You called?"

"Yeah! I need a hand for just a few minutes. Mind grabbing a dolly and joining me under here?"

Amadeus sighed and lowered himself onto the nearby dolly and slid underneath the vehicle. "Ugh, what do you need me to do?"

Charles was pushing on the engine that was being suspended by a lift and chains in front of the vehicle. "Well, I'm trying to get this damn engine seated properly, and I need a second set of hands. I need you to hold the block like I am right now while I lower it from above. Make sure it stays where it's at, or it won't seat on the mounts properly."

Amadeus was about to complain that he could have gone to a neighbor for such a menial task instead of making him come from across town, but elected to bite his tongue and cooperate. He put his hands where Charles had them, "Okay, got it."

Just as Charles was about to slide out, we tossed a crumpled up piece of paper on Amadeus's chest. Then he went to the lift and lowered the block down into the compartment.

Amadeus, held the block in position until it was seated, then read the note on his chest.

"Miles lied! I found a picture of him with Shard and Sally on the Death Egg. I have to report the finding to Harvey at 1100. Whatever rocks you haven't kicked over yet, kick them over now and get your son to tell you what really happened. Otherwise your son will be deep trouble! You know how Harvey is, and Silver will follow any of his orders to a "T". Good luck!"

Amadeus mind was clawing with questions, but knew he couldn't ask them. Chuck took a huge risk bringing this to his attention, and knew that Harvey had eyes and ears everywhere. He crumpled up the note and set in on the floor near a wrench, "You good up there?"

Charles unhooked the chains and secured the engine in place. "Yeah, got it. Thanks old friend."

Amadeus slid out from underneath the car and went to a stand. "Anytime!" He washed his hands, parted with Charles and left. As he walked down the sidewalk, he thought about what to do. What had he missed? Why would his son lie? It just wasn't adding up.

WHEEHOOWHEEOO!

Suddenly a Military Police sedan running code 3 screeched around the street corner. It pulled along the sidewalk next to Amadeus and a Bear in uniform hopped out of the driver's side. "General Prower, Sir. I need you to come with me!"

"No way! Harvey can't be that good?" "What's this about, Sergeant?"

"We got a situation in the field on the south side of the city's security perimeter, Sir! Your son is involved. King's orders, we need you to report there now!"

Amadeus didn't think twice as he hopped into the passenger side, and in seconds they were off. "Okay Sergeant, give me a sit-rep?"

Thirty Minutes Earlier.

Planet Moebius.

Blaze had managed to gather up all her people for the move and Fiona had retrieved every Warp ring Scourge had in the Castle.

Miles typed away on a touchpad as he walked with Alicia. Once he finished his report, they both walked to the front of the crowd, "Is that all of them Fi?"

"Yes, seven warp rings total. This includes the ones Scourge took from Dr. Finitevus years back" Fiona said handing them to him.

"With all those rings so close, the Zone cops will be drawn to you" Blaze said and she was helped over to them by Marine and an older grey Lynx.

"That's the idea, who better to give them to. Besides I need to have a word with Zonic about the lack of enforcement of the Cosmic interstate. Had they done their job, Scourge would have never made it to your world." Miles then opened up a ring gate. Okay Blaze, we're going to the outskirts of my Mobotropolis, you first."

With that Blaze and her two helpers went through and one by one, her people filed in after her. After roughly half the group went through, another portal opened up above the courtyard and several zone cop vehicles came through.

"EVERYONE HALT. THIS MOVEMENT IS A VIOLATION OF THE COSMIC INTERSTATE LAW OF TRAVEL!"

Miles was still in turbo form, and he floated some feet into the air. "Everyone keep moving, I'll take care of this." Miles made a gesture with his hand and sent all four Zone cop hovercraft crashing to the ground.

The Zone cops piled out of the vehicles and aimed their weapons at him. Miles held his right hand out and brought every gun to him like a magnet. Then he crushed them into a basketball sized mash and let it fall to the ground. Then he floated down to the group, "Who's the lead officer here?"

One of the cop's stepped forward and pulled up his face shield, revealing Zonic. "I am; and your Tails Prower from zone "Prime" I assume?"

Miles snarled, "You assumed correct!"

"Then why are you doing this?! We worked with you to stop Mammoth Mogul years ago, remember? We're allies!"

Miles punched the hedgehog in the head, cracking his helmet and sending him flying to the ground.

Other zone cops moved to pile on Tails, but were stopped when they all suddenly lifted off the ground and floated in the air.

Miles picked up Zonic with one hand and yanked the remains of his helmet off. He looked just like Sonic. He pulled the hedgehog close "How dare you show up now and badger me about zone laws!? Where were you when Scourge destroyed the Sol world?"

"Ugh, we were unable to intervene. We had all resources committed to fight Nega's forces. Only long after the Sol world was destroyed did Nega's forces finally collapse. We just won the war just recently!"

"Then why didn't you help the survivors after the war was won? Scourge has been torturing them for over a year!" Miles yelled.

Zonic didn't answer the question. "Where is Scourge?"

Miles jerked him to the side so Zonic could see the lifeless hedgehog still hanging on the rope. "Dead, with no help from you!" He dropped Zonic and then tossed six warp rings onto his lap. "All the warp rings Scourge had in his possession. All yours now."

"What about the seventh?"

Miles turned and watched the last groups of Blaze's people walk through the ring gate. "Once I bring all of the Sol people to my world, I'll secure it. As long as there are no more are on this world, you'll have less to worry about, right?"

Zonic went back to his feet. "Okay then, but can you put my men down now?"

Miles waved his hand and they all fell to the ground.

Zonic ordered his men to get the vehicles operational and head back to the No Zone with the Warp rings. Then he went by Tails again, "Tails, I'm sorry. I wanted to do more."

Miles said nothing until the last of Blaze's people went through the gate. Then he spoke, "Take a good look at your dead counterpart over there. Make his image burned into your mind."

Zonic became defensive, "Why?"

Miles turned and glared at him with his red glowing eyes, "Sonic told me about you're Robo-Robotnik balancing act bullshit. You let Eggman stay on our world." Miles walked some feet away. "You allowed him to unleash hell on our people. Do you have any idea how many lives he destroyed on my world before we took him down?"

"We had to maintain your zone's balance, you just don't understand the…"

Miles stormed over, grabbed his vest hard with both hands and went face to face with him, "Shut…..your…mouth!" He jerked him to the side and pointed to Scourge's corpse. "I want you to burn that dead 'hog's image in your head, because if another Eggman balancing act makes its way onto Mobius Prime, I'm going to personally see that you are the next one hanging from that rope!" Then he shoved Zonic away. "Now I don't want to ever see you again. You fuckers ruined my world. LEAVE!"

Zonic stood there for a second in shock at the Fox's threat. Then he hurried back to his squad craft and left through an opened portal.

Miles took a deep breath then walked to the ring gate where Fiona and Alicia were waiting. "Time to go, Fi, are you ready?"

Fiona nodded. Then she walked through the gate.

Miles was then approached by Alicia. "You could stay y'know?"

Miles looked at her surprised.

"Everyone saw what you did. You want to be king, they'll gladly follow your leadership."

Miles could see an almost pleading look in her gaze. He knew why she was offering this to him. "I'm sorry Alicia, I'm not him. I can't stay."

Alicia let her head fall and she nodded with closed eyes, "I know, but I see him in you."

He gently used his left hand to left her head up so he could look at her, "And I see my some of my Sally in you. So please do me one favor."

Her head perked up, "Name it?"

"Rule these people right. Learn to be a good person, and lead them justly. They deserve a change of pace, and frankly, so do you."

Alicia nodded. "I can do that."

Miles nodded, and readied to step through the gate.

Alicia called out, "Wait!"

Miles stopped, "What?"

She went close to him, "Please, can you give me just this one thing before I lose you forever?"

He knew what she wanted, so he allowed her to lean close to him and passionately kiss his muzzle.

"Thank you." Then she turned and walked away not saying another word.

Miles then stepped through the gate.

Southern Mobotropolis Plains.

0845 hours

As soon as Miles came through the gate, he saw that everyone was waiting for him. Fiona was on his right, and after he closed the gate he gestured for her to follow him. "Security forces will be here momentarily."

"You sure" Fiona asked.

"Yep. Can't put three thousand people this close to the city and not be noticed." He went to Blaze, who was resting on the ground near Marine and carefully picked her up into his arms. He happened to look at Marine who smiled at him in a weird way before giving them both a thumb's up.

Blaze rolled her eyes and sighed.

Miles then realized what Marine was hinting at, and rolled his eyes too. "Ugh whatever, Marine."

On cue, two MP patrol SUV's with flashing lightbars approached them from two different directions. Miles walked toward them with Blaze in his arms. Each truck had two Soldiers. Miles spoke to them. "Gentleman, I am First Lieutenant Miles Prower of the Royal Army Air Corps." He recognized one of the Sergeant's from boot camp and gave him full his attention.

The Possum saluted Miles, "Yes Sir, long time, no see. What is the situation out here?"

"Okay Sergeant, here in my arms is Blaze the Cat. She is the leader of these people. They are from a different world and dimension. They are survivors from a planetary disaster. Blaze here is also a good friend of mine and Sonic. She can speak for her people, but needs immediate medical care. So I need you four to follow my orders exactly as I give them, understood?"

The Possum and the other three all nodded and in unison said "Yes Sir."

"Okay. I need you to alert the King, and the Council. We have three thousand people out here in need of medical care, food, and shelter. I also need you get Sonic and Amy Rose out here. They know Blaze, and she trusts them. So they'll be essential to establishing a dialog with between Blaze and the Council." Miles then reached out with his right hand from under Blaze to hand over the small rectangular touchpad. "All other details are reported here on this pad. Make sure to pass it up the chain to the General and so-on. Understood?"

"Yes sir" The Possum said, taking the pad from him.

"Good. Now two of you get as many wounded as you can ready for medivac. The other two report what I said to base. Now move out!"

With that, two of the Soldiers got into their truck and zoomed away while the other two stayed and went to help sort through who was wounded.

Miles went behind the MP's SUV with Fiona following. He opened the rear hatch and sat Blaze down in the back compartment. Then he pulled out the Warp ring from his pocket and grabbed Fiona's arm.

Blaze looked at Miles curiously, "What are you doing, Tails?"

"They're going to take care of you all, Blaze. Just get with Amy or Sonic." Miles then opened the gate.

"Wait, why are you leaving? Tails, please, don't leave" Blaze said in a panic.

"It was good to see again, Blaze. Good luck." With that, Miles pulled Fiona into the gate with him and then it closed and disappeared.

Blaze sat there dumbfounded as more military vehicles and a hovercraft approached their location.

The Mystic Ruins

0855 hours

Miles and Fiona appeared through the gate right in front of his workshop. To Fiona, it seemed like a lot more time had passed since she was last here than just a couple hours.

Miles hurried to the computer counsel, scanned his palm, and deactivated the self destruct sequence he initiated earlier. He looked around and saw that the Babylon Rogues airship was still circling above the property. "Hmm, they must not be there, Jet would have flown off by now."

Miles then turned and looked at Fiona, who stood there and looked back at him in return. An awkward silence passed before Fiona took off his equipment strap, letting it fall to the ground as she walked up to him. She then pulled him into a tight hug. "Thank you so much" she whispered into his ear.

Miles hugged her back and nodded; then he started to whisper out an incantation as he held her tightly. They were then enveloped in a bright light, which dissipated within seconds. Her injuries were all suddenly healed and Miles "Turbo" form and clothing were gone. He was returned to his cargo pants and normal shoes that he wore before the transformation. Then he released the hug.

Fiona looked and felt where her injuries were, realizing that Tails had saved the last of his chaos energy for her. Not for Blaze, not for anyone else, but her. She gave him a rather loving look in return for his kind act.

The beautiful look made Miles feel deep regret for what he was about to do, so he broke eye contact and stepped back from her. "Fi, wait here for a second, Okay?"

Fiona nodded.

Miles then opened the Warp ring. He stepped into it, then back out again after a minute with his Yellow Tail hoverboard in hand. Miles set the board on the ground next to Fiona, then picked up his equipment carrier off the ground and went inside the workshop.

It then just occurred to Fiona, "What now? Where do we go from here?" But the truth was that she knew what she wanted to do. She wanted to stay with Miles. A new life and a fresh start with the handsome Fox that never gave up on her. How blessed she was.

Miles then came outside with a backpack that looked full, and set it next to the hoverboard. Then he pulled out the now loaded Handgun from his pants and stuffed it into the backpack, along with the ten grand in cash he still had in his back pocket.

Fiona suddenly felt her stomach turn, "No, this can't be happening?"

Miles zipped up the bag and looked at her, now seeing the dread in her features. She figured it out, and now he had to confront her. "Fiona, this backpack is loaded with food, supplies, the gun, and ten thousand in cash."

"No" she whimpered out.

"You can use the money to get a fresh start, it's accepted throughout most of the planet."

"Why are you doing this to me" she whispered.

"My Yellow Tail board is now yours. Go wherever you want to go."

Fiona glared at him, "No, I'm not going anywhere."

Miles looked back at her firmly, "Yes you are. You have a fresh start now. Take the stuff and go, now!"

Fiona growled at him, as she paced away several feet. "I know what you're doing, and it's not going to work. I'm not leaving you."

"Fi…please. We just went through hell; don't make this moment harder than it has to be."

"WHY" she screeched! Then turned to face him, "Why? Why are you doing this to me?"

"Fi…you have to go, it's for the best. Now listen to…"

Fiona ran up to him and hugged him close as she started planting kisses on his face and neck. "Mmmm…you always wanted me, didn't you? You know want me now, I can smell your desire for me." As she kissed him, she groped and rubbed his chest fur, working her way down to his pants. "Now I want you, Tails. Don't throw me away, I'll give you all of me. Everything you always wanted."

"Fi…I'm not throwing you…uuhhhh." Miles couldn't help his arousal as she worked a hand into his pants and gently massaged his hardening member. "Fi…stop (Breath) please stop it! I can't…(moan)."

"Miles, (Kiss) please don't send me away. You did so much for me. (Kiss) You killed for me! (Kiss) No one does that for someone they don't love. (Kiss) Tell me you love me, Miles."

Miles pried himself out of his desires and finally forced the issue. "Fiona, enough!"

She nuzzled his neck and kept massaging his member. "Mmmm…no….let's just go inside."

Miles growled and forced her away from him as he yelled, "STOP IT!" Fiona stood there shocked at his action with a look the tore right through his soul.

Tears started falling from her eyes, "Whyyyyyy? Tails….why don't you want me? Why did you almost die for me, only to throw me away now? (Sniff) Whyyy?"

Miles gritted his teeth really hard, trying to fight back his own tears. "Because, I'm no better than Scourge, Fi. Staying with me would be making the same mistake over again. AND I WON'T ALLOW IT!"

Fiona looked at him confused.

"I'm a bad person. I've done horrible things, and now I'm on the run." Miles stepped back a few steps. "I'm only bad news, Fi. You have to get away from me as fast as you can. I'll only bring more hell to your life, and you deserve so much better."

Fiona shook her head and wiped her eyes. "I don't believe you. You're a great person."

"No, I'm a piece of shit! (Sob) And I fought hard for you, so you can have back the life you truly deserve. Now I want you to let me go and leave! Now!"

"But…..what…ugh…why?"

"Like you said, I nearly died for you! So listen to me when I say that I know what's better for you!"

"B..but I don't want to leave you? Tails…..you are…..you're all I have left."

"Fiona…" He turned away and pointed to the west with his right hand, "Go, right now."

Fiona shook from anger and frustration. She went down and pounded her fists on the ground several times before grabbing the backpack and the board. She strapped the pack on and stepped onto the board. "Before I go, there's one thing I need to know?"

Still facing away from her, he said "What?"

"Do you love me?"

Miles gritted his teeth again as tears flowed from his eyes, "I…(Sob)….CARE…..deeply for you….as my friend. I always will. But we have to say goodbye to each other now, b…(sob)… because I can't risk being in your life anymore."

Fiona wiped her eyes and departed, but stopped after a few feet and looked back at him. "Well…..Mr. Miles Prower…..I will never forget you and what you did for me…(Sniff)..and whether you say it or not….I know deep down…..you do love me."

Tails shook as he cried, still not looking at her.

"Goodbye Miles." Fiona then zoomed away on the Yellow Tail heading south as the sunlight of day grew ever brighter.

Miles then stumbled inside his workshop and plopped himself down on his couch crying loudly. She was right…he always loved her, still did. And now, after all that just happened, he sent her away; permanently killing his hopes and dreams of being with her forever. All because he screwed up, and he had to let her go to protect her from his own fate. The realization hit him full force.

"MOTHERFUCKER! WHY DID I DO THAT?! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Miles lost all control and started smashing everything in sight. The TV, the couch, the fridge, everything he could get his hands on. When done with the living room, he stormed down the stairs into the hanger, grabbed the large wrench Wave pulled out earlier and started destroying the shop with it. After several minutes he collapsed to the ground and screamed out in pain and grief. "I HAAAAAAATEEEE MYYYY LIFE! I FUCKING HATE MY LIFE! AAHHHHHH! WHY CAN'T I JUST DIE ALREADY! AHHH! (Crying)"

4 hours later

Miles flew down from the Rogue's zeppelin, having dropped off Wave's stuff that she'd left in his workshop, along with a few extra items in thanks for the help they gave. He went inside and grabbed his duffle bag full of clothing and a few items that he just couldn't part with. Then he took a moment to look over his wrecked workshop. He invested a lot of time and resources into the place, and it really was breaking his heart to let it go. But, he knew that Blaze would lead Sonic and the others here soon enough, so he had to go. He stepped outside and scanned his hand one last time. "Computer, initiate self destruct sequence. Fifteen seconds, auto robot recycling program enabled."

"Confirmed."

"Execute!" Then Miles quickly hopped onto his experimental type ZX extreme gear and rocketed away.

Moments later the whole workshop imploded into itself.

Miles didn't look back once. He was leaving his old life behind with his workshop. Now, he had to make a new life for himself. He increased speed and headed for Station Square.

Downunda

At the same time.

Sonic and Bunnie rode on Dulcy's back as they approached the home of the Downunda Freedom fighters. The trip was long, taking over a day with the stops. Sonic was still a tad bit nervous riding Dulcy, having all the memories of her youthful crashes fresh in his mind. But it slowly faded as Dulcy had grown up and was now pretty damn good at landing.

They were on the final leg of the trip and Bunnie had fallen asleep. She had turned around and clung to Sonic, who was facing forward the whole flight holding her in his arms. Dulcy turned her head and smiled at Sonic as he held the rabbit tightly and waved in acknowledgement.

"We're just about there, Sonic" Dulcy chimed up.

Sonic nodded and gently nuzzled Bunnie. "Hey, wake up."

"Hmmm."

"Were almost there?"

"Mmmm…(Yawn)..oh, good, how long was ah out?"

"About three hours" Sonic replied with a smile.

Bunnie kissed him then turned around and looked below for familiar sites. Then she saw the smoke. "Hey, what's with all the fire ovah there?"

Sonic looked and became worried, "That's their village. I think some of the hut's are on fire! Crap! Dulcy put us down just outside of town, okay?"

"Will do!" Dulcy swooped down and made a graceful landing on the flat near the village.

Sonic and Bunnie hopped off and took in the scene.

"Something ain't right. The village mustav been attacked" Bunnie said.

"No argument here, but who? Dulcy, mind scouting around in the air while we check out the village?"

Dulcy nodded and took off.

Sonic approached the nearest hut with caution as Bunnie pulled out a laser pistol. "Let's split up."

Sonic nodded and walked forward as Bunnie went left. He looked in the first hut and saw a mess inside, but no one was home. The story repeated itself in the next three huts. "Damn, where the hell is everybody?"

The next hut was in flames and he hoped no one was inside when it went up. The crackling of the flames, the only noise he could hear. The eerie silence was making his quils stand on end. Finally he had enough and went old-school by zooming forward, running around, hitting up several huts calling out for anyone. There was no response or signs of life.

When he arrived at the center of town he saw someone sitting there, partially concealed by the smoky air. He slowed to a walk and approached the figure, "Hello?"

"Huh! Who's there" the voice called back.

Sonic recognized the voice, "Is that you, Guru?"

The Emu responded, "Yah man, is that Sonic I hear?"

Sonic zoomed up to him, "Yeah, it's me. Dude, what the hell happened here? Where is everybody?"

"Oh man, it's awful. We were attacked. They captured everyone!"

Sonic helped the Emu to his feet, "Who attacked you?"

Just then a chorus of electric charging sounds were heard. Sonic looked around and saw several sighting lasers dotting his chest and several figures emerged from all around them. Sonic pulled the Emu closer and took a defensive stance. Once the figures approached, Sonic could see that they were all members of the Dark Legion.

"Surrender Hedgehog! You're surrounded!"
