I am so sorry it has taken me nearly a year to update. This year has been crazy with me and my husband trying to find a place of our own. Finally we are in an apartment and not at his Mom's house. I am hoping to be able to update every week again. I also gave Toshiro's third seat a name, Osamu. Osamu means discipline. If there are any mistakes in grammar or spelling blame my sister, she is the one who checked my story. Thank you for all the good wishes and patience.

Chapter 10 A week without a Captain
Tuesday
"Waky, Waky!" said Yua
"Ok," said Rangiku getting up. "I hope today will go as smoothly as yesterday."
"Good morning," said Shuhei. He was putting breakfast on the table.
"Good morning," said Rangiku setting Yua at the table.
"Hungry," said Yua.
"Well, eat up then," said Rangiku.
They quickly got ready for the day. Rangiku took Yua with her to the office. On both her desk and Toshiro's desk was a pill of papers. Rangiku groaned. "Why is there so much paper work?" She set Yua on the floor, and went to her desk to start on it. As soon as Rangiku sat at her desk, Yua started climbing the selves, throwing the paperwork on Toshiro's desk, pulling books off the selves, ripping the paperwork, and getting into the ink. Because of Yua Rangiku didn't get any of the paper work done.
"Lieutenant," said Osamu the third seat.
"Yes," said Rangiku wrestling with Yua to prevent Yua from putting her hand in the ink.
"It's time for the team training," said Osamu.
"Right," said Rangiku. "Come on, Yua."
Yua laughed.
On the training field Rangiku spilt everyone up into groups with four people. "Ok, now you four groups are hollows the rest of you need to corner them!"
"Yes, Sir," said everyone together.
Rangiku shouted instructions, encouragements, and scolding's as needed. However she did not notice that she put Yua down and Yua was walking toward the middle of the training field. No one notice Yua until she tripped someone who was in fierce combat. He fell into his team mate who fell into the person they were fighting and so on until everyone had fallen into a pill. Yua began to cry. "Oh, no!" cried Rangiku as she started to rush to Yau, but Unohana grabbed Rangiku's shoulder. "Let me go!"
"If you rush to Yua, you well be stepping on your men and you may cause them or Yua harm," said Unohana calmly.
Rangiku stopped struggling and looked at Unohana. She was smiling. "Captain Unohana?" Rangiku said jumping in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"I came by to check on your Company. Now let's help everyone onto their feet and see if anyone is hurt."
It took an hour to make sure that no one was seriously injured. There were just some scraps, bops, and bruises. Yua was fine. She just got scared when everyone fell.
"Why isn't Yua in a daycare?" asked Unohana.
"Yesterday she cried so much that they brought her back to me."
"Then you need to leave her with Lieutenant Hisagi."
"But she'll get in the way there to."
"Yes, but right now your Company is in serious trouble and could be shut down if you are not careful."
"Yes, your right."
"I've been away from my Company too long so I am going to leave now. But if you need anything don't hesitate to ask for help."
"Yes, thank you, Captain Unohana."
Rangiku took Yua to Shuhei after lunch. Then she started the team training over again.
"All your teams are sloppy," said Soi Fong.
"Captain Soi Fong? What are you doing here?" asked Rangiku.
"Since Company 10 doesn't have their captain right now, it is a security risk so I have to come be to check on it."
"Thank you," said Rangiku.
"I'm just doing my job."
It didn't take long for Soi Fong to take over the training. Rangiku wanted to ask her to leave because the men were getting tried but she was afraid to. It was close to sunset when Soi Fong said that they were done for the day. When she was out of sight all the men groaned and slowly walked to the showers. "There will be no training tomorrow," said Rangiku, "I what everyone to rest."
"Yes, Sir. Thank you," the men said with relief.
Rangiku went home, ate dinner, and went to bed.
Wednesday
Rangiku got up early, ate breakfast, and got ready for the day. When she left the house, she left Yua with Shuuhei. She groaned when she got to the office and there was twice as much paper work since she never got to the paperwork yesterday. "I guess I better get started." She said setting down at her desk.
Shinji walked in the door with Momo 15 minutes later. "Hi," said Shinji. "How are things?"
"I have so much paperwork I don't know if I can get it done!"
"I can't help you there," said Shinji.
"Why do you have so much?" asked Momo
"I didn't get any of it done yesterday!"
"Good luck with that," said Shinji plopping down on the coach.
"How did the Captain get all this done?"
"He wouldn't do anything else including meals and sleep," said Momo.
"I'm not going to do that."
"Where's Yua?" asked Shinji.
"She's with Shuhei because I don't get anything done with her here."
"Help!" cried Osamu bursting into the room.
Rangiku know that something was really wrong for him to lose his usually calm and collected demeanor. "What's Wrong!?" she asked standing.
"Captain Soi Fong says that she can work with our men until launch!"
"Oh, no," said Rangiku rushing out the door.
Shinji slowly got up off the coach and cursorily followed Rangiku. Momo followed behind Shinji.
"Your men are pathetic," said Soi Fong when Rangiku flash stepped beside her.
"Their tired form yesterdays training," said Rangiku.
"That's no excuse."
"But..."
"Do you want your men to be strong?"
"Yes."
"Do you want your Company to fall?"
"No."
"Then I'm here to whip them into shape."
"Did the Head Captain tell you to do that?" asked Shinji walking up.
"I'm just trying to increase the security of the Seireitei."
"By making Company 10 to tied to fight?"
"You stay out of these for you don't even train your men."
"What should I do?" Rangiku asked Momo as the argument between the two captains continued.
"I don't know?" replied Momo.
Rangiku and Momo stood there listening to Soi Fong and Shinji argue.
"What's going on?" asked Yoruichi standing behind Rangiku and Momo. They both jumped.
"Yoruichi!?" they said together.
Yoruichi just looked at them waiting for an answer.
"Well," began Rangiku, "Captain Soi Fong wants to train my men, but she's working them to hard. So Captain Hirako is trying to help me tell her that I don't need help in that area."
Yoruichi walked up to Soi Fong and Shinji. "Hi," she said.
"Lady Yoruichi!?" exclaimed Soi Fong.
"Come on Momo, I think we can leave now," said Shinji walking away.
"Yes, sir," said Momo following after him. "Bye, Rangiku."
"Soi Fong, I know that you're just trying to help. After all Captain Hitsugaya worked really hard with his Company, but you're taking it too far," said Yoruichi.
"I'm sorry, Lady Yoruichi, but this Company likes discipline without Captain Hitsugaya."
"I'm sure that Lieutenant Matsumoto..."
"Lieutenant Hisagi," interrupted Rangiku.
"Right, I'm sorry. Lieutenant Hisagi can handle it. Now you need to apologies to her and her men."
"I'm sorry I was trying to take over your Company Lieutenant Hisagi, and I'm sorry I was pushing all of you so hard," she said turning to the men who were watching.
"It's ok," said Rangiku.
Soi Fong started to leave. "Wait a minute." said Yoruichi, "You need to promise that you will only help Company 10 when they ask for it."
"Yes, Lady Yoruichi. I promise," said Soi Fong. "Now can I go?"
"Yes, and I will be joining you shortly."
Soi Fong's eyes sparkled with delight as she decided to wait for Yaruichi.
"She really did have the best intentions," said Yoruichi to Rangiku.
"I know," she replied. "And thank you for your help Yoruichi."
Yoruichi smiled and left with Soi Fong following behind her.
"Time for some launch," Raniguka said looking at the time. "Then I have to get back to that paperwork," she groaned.
When she got back to the office she saw Byakuya doing the Captain's paper work.
"Captain Kuchiki?" she said surprised to see him. "What are you doing?"
"I'm doing all of Captain Hisugaya's paperwork," he replied peeking up the last one.
"Thank you," she said.
Byakuya said nothing as he finished the last paper, put it aside, and walked to the door. When he got to the door he said, "You need to be doing the paperwork on your desk." With that he walked out the door.
Rangiku look at her desk. It was obvious that Byakuya did not touch her desk. "At least the Captain's paperwork is done," she said walking to her desk. It took her until sunset to finish the paperwork.
Thursday
Rangiku was relieved not to see any paper work on the desks. She lounged on the couch. She was only there for five minutes when Osamu came in.
"Lieutenant," he said, "We brought you today's paperwork."
Rangiku looked up and saw the third seat and two men behind him caring a pill of papers. She signed as she sat up. "Please, put all of them on my desk."
"Yes, Sir," the three men said.
Rangiku sat down at her desk and started working on it half way though she heard Yua crying. She got up and looked down the hall. Kensei and Shuhei where coming up the hall with Yua. Rangiku meet them half way. "What's the matter, Yua?"
"Nii-sama!" Yua cried.
"He isn't back yet," said Rangiku.
"Nii-Sama!" she yelled.
"She doesn't believe us," said Shuhei.
"Let's just take her into the office so she can see for herself," said Kensei.
Rangiku took Yue form Shuhei, and they walked into the office.
"Nii-Sama!" Yua cried excited, but when she didn't see him she started crying loader.
"The Captain want be back for a well," said Rangiku.
"Crying isn't going to bring him back faster," said Shuhei.
"He wouldn't want you to cry." said Kensei.
All of them tried to get her to calm down. Kensei left to get all of them lunch. Yua just throw her lunch just like she through every toy they tried to give her. Jushiro walked in almost getting hit with some rice that Yue through.
"Why is Yua so up sit?" asked Jushiro.
"She misses Captain Hitsugaya," Replied Kensei.
"I haven't gotten any work done," said Shuhei.
"I need to finish the paperwork then go throw some routine drills with the men," said Rangiku.
"Then let me take care of Yue so all of you can get your work done," said Jushiro.
"Are you sure?" said Rangiku.
"She's a handful," said Kensei.
"Are you sure you're well enough?" asked Shuhei.
"I'll be fine Kiyone and Sentaro will help me since Rukia is with Byakuya."
"Of course, I will help you Captain," siad Kiyone appearing beside Jushiro.
"I can help you better then Kiyone," said Sentaro appearing on the other side of Jushiro.
"No, you can't. I know more about kids then you."
"Ha, I know more then you."
"That's enough now. You both will be a great help," said Jushiro.
"Yes, Captain," they both said together.
"Ok," said Rangiku giving Yua to Jushiro.
"You are so cutie," said Kiyone. "We are going to have lots of fun."
"No, she is going to have lots of fun with me," said Sentoro
"First she needs a nap," said Joshiro.
Joshiro, Kiyone, and Sentoro left.
"It's time to get some work done," said Kensei.
"Yes, Captain," said Shuhei. "I love you, Rangiku." He gave her a kiss.
"I love you; even through it's your fault that Yua is so stubborn."
"What!?" said Shuhei.
"I believe," said Kensei, "That it is your fault, Rangiku."
"Me!" she said innocently.
Shuhei and Kensei left. Rangiku finished the paperwork and did the routine drills with the men. When Rangiku got to the house Yua was playing on the floor with the Kiyone, and Sentoro while Jushiro and Kensei were talking and Shuhei was in the kitchen cooking dinner.
"How did Yue do?" Rangiku asked Jushiro.
"It took forever to get her asleep," said Jushiro, "But after she finale took her nap, she was happy and played the rest of the day."
"Thank you for your help, Captain Ukitake."
"Anytime," he replied.
"Dinner is ready," said Shuhei.
"Yeah," said Yua.
They all had a nice dinner.
Friday
Rangiku walked into the office to see more paperwork on the desks. "Will the mission reports and mission assignment ever end?" she groaned. She went to her desk and started working on them.
An hour later Kurotsuchi walked in, "Hello, Lieutenant."
"What do you want?" asked Rangiku trying not to worry.
"I am trying to do some research on spirit energy and since I can't ask Captain Hitsugaya for his assistance I came here to ask for yours."
"You have a whole company to help you."
"Yes, but they are all form Rukongai. I need some assistance from those who were born in the Seireitei or Nobility."
"Then go ask Captain Kuchiki for his help because I say no."
"Why want you help me?"
"First you are implying that you would like to experiment on Yua which isn't going to happen. Second the Captain wouldn't want me helping you in any way."
"He used to help me all the time."
"I doubt that Toshiro ever helped you with anything," said Shinji coming in the room.
"I have the records to prove it."
"That met explain why the two of you are always at each other's throats," said Rose stepping out from behind Shinji.
"Please, can the two of you get him to leave?" asked Rangiku.
"You do need to leave Kurotsuchi," said Rose. "It's not fair to pick on Company 10 when their Captain isn't here to protect them."
"If you really need help form Company 10 you should take it up with the Head Captain," said Shinji.
"Fine I will leave for now," said Kurotsuchi.
After Kurotsuchi left Rose asked, "Do you need help with anything else?"
"Yes, please make sure Kurotsuchi doesn't come back."
"I'll talk to the Head Captain about it," said Shinji and he left.
"I'll stay here and help you with the paper work to make sure Kurotsuchi doesn't bother you anymore," said Rose.
When Shinji got to the Head Captain's office Soi fong and Byakuya where standing outside the door. "Why are you here?" asked Shinji.
"Kurotsuchi!" said Soi Fong angrily.
Byakuya nodded.
"I am here for the same reason," said Shinji.
"Alright," said the Head Captain. "Now you may come in."
The three of them entered the office and bowed to the Head Captain.
"What is the problem?"
"Captain Kurotstechi won't leave us alone," said Soi Fong.
"He wants help with some research with spirit energy but he will not elaborate," said Byakuya.
"He started brothering Company 10 about it today," said Shinji.
"I will speak with him about the matter."
Three hours later when Rangiku and Rose were outside training the men. Lieutenant Sasakibe came up.
"Lieutenant Motsumoto I mean, Lieutenant Hisagi."
"Yes," said Rangiku.
"Captain Kurotsuchi is not to bother any Company about helping him with research unless it goes through the Head Captain first. He is to stay away from Company 10 unless it is a life and death satiation. So if he bothers you again let the Head Captain now immediately."
"What a relief," said Rangiku. "Thank you."
Lieutenant Sasakibe left.
"That means I can go back to my Company now," said Rose.
"Thank you so much for your help," said Rangiku.
"Just let me know if you need any more help."
"I will Thank you."
Rose left.
Rangiku finished training the men and went home.
Me: If you review I will give you some of my mama's fudge. If you don't review I will do nothing since it has been so long since I up dated.
Kurotsuchi: It is about time you stopped flirting with that person and spent more time writing about me.
Me: First, that person is my husband. Second, this story is about Toshiro not you.
Kurotsuchi: I wonder why the Head Captain won't let me do my experiments on every company.
Me: Because you are getting carried away.
Kurotsuchi: But they are important. At least my lab is fully repaired, so I can experiment on that person for not reviewing.
Me: I gave them a break this time.
Kurotsuchi: Breaking an arm or a leg is not nearer as fun.
Me: That's not what I meant.
