When they walked into the hospital, Ryan and Jenny and their kids Oliver and Olivia were already there.
"So what's the news?" asked Castle
Ryan put down his newspaper. "Well she is currently 4cm dilated..." He was cut off by a deafening scream.
"Was that Lanie?" Kate asked nervously, putting an unconscious hand on her stomach.
Jenny smiled "Yep, she's been like that since we got here."
After an hour of waiting and screams Kate got up quickly causing everyone to look at her.
"I'm gonna go get a bottle of water."She really needed to escape from Lanie's painful screams,
"I'll go." Volunteered Castle, trust him to ruin her plans.
"I'll get it myself." But he wasn't giving up so easily.
"I'll go with you." And they left hurriedly. Ryan and Jenny looked at each other with a knowing smile.
When Kate reached the machine, she stopped and allowed Castle to get it for her.
"Rick I can't do it."
"Do what?" he asked obviously confused
"Give birth."
He picked up the bottle and gave it to her before getting one for himself.
"Kate sweetie you kind of don't have a choice, besides you're like really strong and I'll be there every step of the way, holding your hand and you can squeeze it as much as you want." They returned to the room and six hours later the cries of a baby filled the air.
They all entered the room one hour later Esposito was holding a small bundle in blue blankets, he had Esposito dark curly hair and Lanie's eyes and brown skin he was the perfect 7 and 1/2 pound baby.
"Meet Maximus Sanchez Esposito." He announced proudly as he gave the baby to Ryan. They all took turns handing the baby around the room until he ended back up in Esposito's arms and Lanie spoke up.
"Hey Kate you didn't get a chance and you're next so wanna hold him?" they were all staring at her and she couldn't say no and she wasn't ready, he was so tiny and fragile.
"No thanks, maybe later." And before Lanie could protest Maximus started to fret obviously hungry.

One month later and nine month's into Kate's pregnancy, Kate waddled next to her husband through the park walking up to where Lanie was laying down on a blanket next to Maximus, the group decided they needed a day out together and planned a picnic. When they reached her Kate grabbed onto a tree bending over slightly.
"Are you okay?" Castle asked worriedly. She took a deep breath.
"Yea, just making sure I wore shoes."
"But you checked at home." He said confused.
"Oh really I forgot." Before he could question it anymore the boys came and dragged him off to play football.
Lanie waited until Jenny left to be the goal keeper before talking she patted the spot next to her and Kate gladly took it and Lanie slapped her.
"YOU'RE IN LABOUR AREN'T YOU!?" she exclaimed.
Kate looked around to make sure that no one had heard her friend's statement.
"Shhhhhh, only since this morning, look Lanie I am not going to the hospital to lay down all day in a bed, I'm just going to wait a few hours and I'm going to enjoy my last day as a woman who is not a mother, so shut up and don't say anything."
The day went pretty smoothly they asked how school was going for Alexis and discussed Castle's upcoming book and how they were going to made into a movie. They talked for at least three hours then they ate and afterwards Kate leaned on Castle's shoulder and started taking practiced deep breaths.
"Okay Rick I'm ready to go to the hospital now." Everything went silent as all eyes turned to her.
"Are you serious?" Castle asked slightly nervous.
She put a hand on her stomach as the contraction continued to pass.
"Oh, I'm serious as hell."
Well this is it the final chapter before Kate gets her little Castle baby, I'll try to update as soon as I can seeing that this Chapter was shorter than usual.
