Sasuke's house

"You don't think you're being a bit harsh on them?" Gaara asked as he scrubbed the old blood of the floor with Coke.

"I was being very harsh, that was the point."

"I know, but you understand how Hinata feels. She's spent her entire life being told she would never be good enough, now she knows two hundred jutus and can heal herself twenty times as fast. She wants to show everyone how strong she is, no matter the consequence. It's always been her weakness."

"Yeah, but we can't afford to fuck up when we don't know our situation just yet. We might be totally in the clear or we might be screwing up our future with every wrong word we say."

"Tough situation both ways."

"We'll work it out. We always do." He smiled at his friend.

That Night

Hinata and Neji were in Sasuke's living room.

"Alright, you guys, I got a large supreme pizza and a bottle of vodka, let's get this meeting started." Sasuke sat down, quickly noticing how Hinata was turned away from him with her arms crossed.

"First we're going to go over what happened to get us here. Then we'll address Hinata's 'attitude', and then work out a plan to get back to our own time zone."

It was clear Hinata wasn't going to talk so Gaara went first.

"I was getting paperwork done when Jason and Tiffany showed up with this giant slimy guy. There was purple mist that I assume was some kind of poison but it didn't affect me. He said he wanted my soul and something about our team. Then he showed me this hologram or something that he was spying on you guys with. I saw Hinata and Neji running from a blob and Neji getting killed. I didn't see what happened to Hinata because it switched to you. That's when I called you, I didn't know what was about to happen but I had to warn you. Then everything went black."

"That reminds me," Sasuke said, "How'd you get my number, I changed it?"

"I told Neji you were avoiding me and he gave it to me."

"Traitor."

"Payback is a bitch. Anyway, we were attacked by a blob. The entire compound was. People were getting chewed up and spit out like bad gum. It was horrific, seeing those mangled bodies everywhere. The last thing I remember is choking on my own blood and Hinata running away."

"You ran away?" Sasuke asked.

"I'm still not talking to you." She replied.

"Why did you leave him, we never leave our friends."

"What did you want me to do? Drag his lifeless body and get eaten too?!"

"You could've thrown him out the window for all that I care, but don't leave him right in front of a monster about to get eaten!"

"I was scared OK!" she cried. "I didn't want to die!" She fell on the couch crying. "And I cast a spell to reverse tiiiimee! It's all my fault we're here!"

Sasuke caressed her head as she cried "it's all my fault" over and over again.

"Hinata, it's not your fault." He said.

"It kinda I-"

"Shut up, Neji. It's not. After Gaara called me, I was killed by a tall man in a black cloak. When I woke up…I guess I was in limbo or something-the point is the contract Hinata and I used to make us immortal was dependent on human sacrifice. Something we forgot about when we had kids."

"What!?" Gaara and Neji yelled.

"Oh my god…" Hinata sat up. "You're right. We didn't go on any missions the entire time I was pregnant. And once Haruka was born I focused completely on her."

"They must have given us about five years before they figured we'd broken our contract."

"Why are you both being so casual about this!?" Neji yelled.

"This entire time you've been lying to us. I thought we were helping people, that we were doing good."

"We were doing good, Gaara! We were just killing bad people and sacrificing them." Sasuke replied.

"Why didn't you tell us!?"

"We figured you'd over react." Hinata said.

"Over react!? You both made a deal with the devil! You involved us in it! If anything I am under reacting!"

"Neji, stop yelling. We need to figure out a plan to get back to the present."

"What! How can you be so calm about this? They tricked us, we were MURDERED because of them."

"I know, but being mad doesn't change our situation."

"Gaara, you've been surprisingly cool about this whole situation." Sasuke stared at Gaara intently. "Have you been smoking?"

"I've been high all day. But, that's not the point. I am very upset that you two never told us the truth about the whole immortality thing. That doesn't change the fact that we DID help people, thousands of people. If the price for saving innocent lives is guilty souls, that's not necessarily a downside. The most important thing is that from now on we are completely honest with each other. We can't trust anyone in this time period, no matter how nice they are."

"Gaara's right," Sasuke said. "Even Naruto would betray us if he thinks it's the right thing to do."

"Everyone will think we're crazy." Hinata looked down.

They sat in silence for a while. Hinata was right, if they told just one person about their predicament, people will fear for their sanity. They couldn't trust anyone which meant isolating themselves from their friends and family.

Suddenly Neji spoke. "Tell us how the contract happened."

"It was right before the fourth war started-" Hinata began.

"Wait-" Neji interrupted, "Let me get drunk first."
