Hatred For His Family, Love of His Sibling, Birth Of An Anti-Hero

Although I only got one review, it is okay with me and I'm inspired to bring in the next chapter, and here the turning point for Touma comes in after he makes a harrowing discovery on the identity of his mother's murderer and that Kouki having an accomplice, and at the same time he gets a chance to find the means to bring down Kouki as he meets with a peddler who offers him the chance to find Kouki as well as offering him a chance to find "a place" to work with in a bid to win back Relena's custody...

Ch. 10: Anchihīrō ga Hassei Suru

A few days later...

The scene shifts to the school Touma is attending, and he is shown to be in deep thought as he is concerned about Relena being in Kurata's custody, and that the police chief who kept him in custody a several days ago remained to be inept as his bungling allowed Kouki and Nanami to make a clean getaway even though the superintendent sacked the police chief for "focusing" on Touma and not at the truck driver who killed another pair of victims.

However, he now has a chance at redemption as he now acquired the means to find Kouki and his cronies, and he was given a glimmer of hope as he has found a way to get justice for Relena and make Kouki pay for his transgression on her.

His classmates were eyeing him with worry, thinking that he is still worried about the viral videos about Relena being on the internet, and they sympathize with him as they couldn't believe that a gang of delinquents would target and humiliate a disabled, gentle girl, though they couldn't do anything except rely on the police to find Kouki and his gang.

"Look...Touma looked...sullen..."

"I heard that his father ordered him to focus on his studies and nothing else..."

"Touma must be pretty upset when his younger sister took the hit..."

"Even porn sites are cashing in on Relena's photos..."

"Feeling sorry for him...and that girl..."

"Hope those delinquents are captured..."

"Yeah...they're the scums of the city..."

"Hope Touma gets justice he deserved..."

Touma, however, did not notice the bickering behind him as he focused on his studies while bidding his time, hoping to find a breakthrough in getting a lead to where Kouki is hiding, though he also had to put up with his dad and paternal grandmother who are constantly reminding him of his place as "heir" to the Norstein dynasty, which he mentally groan at the adults' selfish requests as he originally had no plans in doing so.

Much later, Touma had finished his classes and is about to leave when his classmates spoke to him to offer their sympathies over the "Relena incident", though he assured to them that he is okay and will not let things get to him to cause trouble for anyone, though his classmates were willing to help if he ever need one, which Touma was quite moved by their gestures, easing his inner torment and this helped him a lot.

"Hey..."

"No need to brood this alone..."

"We'll be there for you..."

"Yeah...we're friends..."

"If you need help..."

"Call us."

"We'll help you in the best way we could..."

"Thanks...all of you..."

As Touma stepped out of the school gate, a police car arrived and stopped in front of Touma, and the teen wondered what is going on as three cops stepped out and are gazing straight at him, surrounding him, in which Touma asked what this is about, and there the cops said that they got word that he is selling drugs, which Touma vehemently deny the accusation, but then a sachet of Methamphetamine drugs was suddenly seen dropping on the ground, which made it appeared that it belonged to Touma, and there the cops began "arresting" him.

"Hey, check this out..."

"A drug...an illegal drug..."

"What? I don't carry those!"

"You dropped it...and it's from you..."

"You're under arrest..."

"It's not mine!"

"Anything you say can and will be used against you..."

"Come along..."

"Let me go!"

Touma's classmates were alarmed by this and believed that he was being set up and tried to intervene, but the cops placed their hand on the belt holster as if they are ready to draw their guns and "reminded" them not to interfere in police business and as Touma was forcefully loaded inside the police car, the vehicle speeds off, and Touma's classmates, some of them managed to secretly video-taped the scene, leave the campus and head for the police station to see if they can help while others began to call the Norstein residence to call Franz in order to inform him of Touma's situation.

Several minutes later, the scene shows that the police car arrived at an unmanned warehouse where the cops alighted from the police car, dragging a handcuffed Touma with them and there they brought him to someone, and that someone turns out to be the former police chief who got sacked because of Touma, and there Touma demanded why he was brought here and why make it appeared that he is carrying an illegal drug when he never purchased one, and there the ex-police chief grudgingly explained why.

"Why did you...?"

"Part of my plan..."

"What?"

"I want to bring you here..."

"Why?"

"To get even with you..."

"What are you...?"

"Let me tell you why...you brat..."

The ex-police chief explained that because of Touma, who explained to the superintendent about the hit-and-run incident which exposed Kouki as the culprit, he was berated by his superior officer for ignoring Touma's words and using him as a scapegoat which allowed Kouki to escape, and added to the fact that he did not made any follow-up operation over THAT incident a few years back, he was fired instead of demoted, thus he is jobless and the ex-police chief blames Touma for it and vows to make him pay for that.

As Touma realizes that the cops and the ex-police chief are in cahoots with each other and they intend to torture him before committing a murder, he tries to break free but the handcuffs wouldn't budge, and there the ex-police chief gave the order, and the corrupt cops began punching, kicking and beating the hapless teen, and even used nightsticks and even a stun gun to maim him ruthlessly while the ex-police chief snickered as he get to get even at the teen for ruining his image and his job.

Touma laid on the ground, beaten and bloodied, while at the same time tries to break free from the handcuffs but couldn't free himself, and there the ex-police chief approached the teen and began kicking him on his groin, which the teen groaned in pain, before kicking him on his throat, injuring him further and vomited some blood from his mouth, which the cops laughed and there the ex-police chief brought out a printed picture of Relena in a fake naked body and there he and the other corrupt cops began taunting Touma.

"Aw..."

"Poor you..."

"Having a slut on a wheelchair..."

"I want to rape her..."

"I bet she'll be crying after seeing you dead..."

"I can't wait to "do" her..."

"I want to "jerk her up" after I get a boner..."

"Ha-ha-ha!"

"And after my boys finish you off...I'll use your death to win me my position back...and then i'll secretly have fun with your sister slut...like that?"

Hearing them taunting his younger half-sister, as well as hearing that the ex-police chief would "charm" his way back to the police force to cover his illegal activities, and for beating him up, adrenaline began to rush up within Touma's body, and he miraculously broke free from the handcuffs and began to reach his bag, which the ex-police chief did not do anything as his cohorts believed that he is not carrying a weapon, and the ex-police chief told his men to proceed in beating up Touma before shooting him to death, but then one of the corrupt cops saw Touma brought something out from his bag, slowly alarming the others.

"Hey..."

"He got loose!"

"Look..."

"What's he holding..."

"Whoa! That's the stuff that Armored fighters use!"

"You mean...?"

"He can't be serious!"

"Go get him! Kill him!"

Touma brought out the Lock Driver and placed it in front of his waist, which activated as a metal belt strap fastened around his waist, and the left portion of the belt glowed, which a "symbol" appeared, which it "locks on" to the person wearing it, though the ex-police chief clapped his hands as more corrupt cops arrived after he contacted them earlier as he wanted to torture Touma some more, but Touma was livid and intends to survive the ordeal as he brought out the Blackberry Lock Seed and activated it, surprising the others as a huge blackberry appeared from above, hovering above the teen.

Blackberry Lock Seed: "KUROICHI..."

"Hey..."

"He got loose!"

"Look..."

"What's he holding..."

"Whoa! That's the stuff that Armored fighters use!"

"You mean...?"

"He can't be serious!"

"Go get him! Kill him!"

The ex-police chief slowly guessed that Touma is secretly becoming an Armored Fighter, and feared that if that happens he and his cronies would be exposed and ordered his cohorts to open fire, as he should have realized that he should have killed him instead of torturing him for sheer fun, and now he regretted having not inspected his bag as he had no idea up until now that Touma had a "trump card" with him, but Touma wouldn't let them have the chance to do so as he inserted the Blackberry Lock Seed into the Lock Driver, and presses the belt's "cutting blade" which "slices" the Lock Seed and the transformation is initiated as the huge object landed on top of Touma's head while his body began to get enveloped in a sleek, black armor, before the huge Blackberry "splits apart", forming the helmet and bulky body armor.

Blackberry Lock Seed: "KUROICHI ARMS...KING OF THE SEVEN SEAS!"

Touma is now covered in black armor, his body armor and shoulder pads on his upper torso resembled that of a blackberry, his helmet had "bug-eye" lens and its head resembled that of a pirate hat, his lower body is covered with a skirt-like overcoat and he is armed with a cutlass, and he is now ready to get even as the corrupt cops began to open fire at him, and sounds of gunfire echoed, but to their surprises, the bullets simply ricochets off him and some struck back at the cops, wounding them, and the ex-police chief became scared like a real a coward as he shouted at his cohorts to stop him.

"What the...?"

"Is that?"

"An Armored fighter I saw on the internet?"

"Must be..."

"I think that's just special effects..."

"DON'T JUST STAND THERE GAWKING1 SHOOT HIM DOWN!"

"O-okay..."

"Let's get him!"

As the cops continued to open fire, Touma stepped forward and slashes his cutlass, producing an effect which slices the guns apart, amputating their hands in the process, and the cops screamed in pain while bleeding non-stop, and they fell to their knees and there Touma went after the other cops who attempted to flee in panic, and seeing that they might "squeal" on what they just saw, and may used that to incriminate him which would expose his identity and the possible confiscation of the items he recently purchased, Touma did something he didn't have a split-second of hesitation, pressing the belt's "cutting blade" once, activating its attack function.

Blackberry Lock Seed: "KUROICHI SQUASH!"

With a swing of his arm, Touma, did a sword slash which emitted a strong energy, and the action caused the escaping cops to be sliced in half, killing them instantly, and he did the same to the other corrupt cops, turning the warehouse into a bloody slaughterhouse littered with mutilated bodies, and the ex-police chief was the only one left and is crying like a coward seeing that he couldn't do anything as the armored Touma approached him, and began pleading to the teen for mercy.

"W-wait...!"

"..."

"Please...spare me...!"

"After what you did just now?!"

"I'm sorry! Please! You're a good boy! A MARVELOUS boy...!"

"Really...?"

"Yes...I won't tell anyone! I promise!"

"..."

Hearing the ex-police chief trying to swoon him by saying that he is "marvelous", Touma replied by saying that he intend to keep things a secret, and thus will give the ex-police chief a "marvelous reply", and he swings his cutlass and beheaded the ex-police chief and killed him instantly. As he looked around, he knew that what he did was not right, but he knew that complications would arise if the ex-police chief and his cohorts would use this fact against him and may even use this as an excuse to charge him illegally, hence he felt justified with his actions.

He then deactivated his Lock Seed and Lock Driver and reverted back to normal, hid his items inside his bag and leaves the warehouse, walking wobbly as the injuries started to make him notice it, and after a few minutes of walking, several police cars arrived and saw Touma walking, and there the superintendent came out and checked on the teen, explaining that he was notified of what happened at the school and figured that the ex-police chief intends to harm him, seeing the severed handcuffs on Touma's wrists.

"Touma Norstein?"

"Yes..."

"Thank goodness! Your classmates showed me the footage of what happened...and I figured that the ex-police chief is behind your abduction..."

"..."

"Are you alright?"

"Yes.."

"What happened to you? Where are the scalawag cops who..."

"Well..."

Touma claimed that he managed to escape when a group of "drug addicts" invaded the warehouse and attacked the corrupt cops, which the superintendent told his men to check out the warehouse while ordering one of his men to take Touma to a hospital after noticing his injuries, and there a policeman escorted the teen away while the superintendent was called and soon saw the massacre, unaware that Touma did this in self-defense, and with Touma's statement the police believed that the ex-police chief and his cohorts' deaths were a result of "serial killers" and began focusing on them.

Hope you like this chapter, as Touma finally gets some items he badly needed in bring down Kouki, and thus an anti-hero is born. Anti-hero? Yup, that means he'll be in conflict with the good guys shown in this fic...
