AU start of season three

Hurting

"So where is Eddie?" Joy questioned as she threw herself down on the sofa beside the redhead, who merely shrugged.

"No idea," She leaned her head back against the back of the couch and closed her eyes before Amber spoke up.

"Fabian!" A squeal exited her lips and Patricia found herself up off of the couch and hugging her fellow Sibuna member. "I've been calling Nina all summer! You really need to keep track of that girlfriend of yours."

"NINA!" Patricia swore that if Amber would have ran any faster, Nina would have been on the ground when Amber hugged her.

"Amber, I need to breathe,"

Patricia rolled her eyes. "Hey Nina!" She reached over the dirty blonde and squeezed her tightly.

After they all said their "hellos" Patricia, Joy, and Amber left to go unpack. Patricia flopped back on her bed and wrung her hands. She shut her pale eyes and tried to focus on something else, something other than Eddie.

She wasn't there long before the door opened and Joy paddled in, barefoot. "No shoes?" The redhead raised an eyebrow.

Joy held up her hand, to show her shoes; a pair of red flats. "My feet hurt," She marched over to Patricia's bed and flopped down beside the redhead. "What's up with you?"

"What are you talking about, I'm fine,"

"Don't even try and play that game with me, I know you to well,"

The redhead never got a chance to respond because Trudy called them down for dinner.

Dinner was slow.

Way to slow.

Sibuna planned to meet up in the attic at midnight, but Patricia was to distracted to even think about that. There had to be a problem, Eddie hadn't shown up yet. She thought about asking Sweetie if his son was coming, if he was showing, but decided against it. She tried to take her mind off of Eddie by distracting herself with the Sibuna meeting.

They met in the attic at the time that they discussed and it was almost normal.

Almost.

After last term Eddie had officially become a member, and that was the problem. He didn't show-he wasn't there. Patrician tried to not let it affect her, throwing herself into conversations with Amber and Nina.

"So welcome back!" Amber nodded slowly as a giddy smile formed on her lips and Patricia's lips curved upward as well.

It did feel good to be back.

Days passed and soon, weeks went by. People began to ask questions about Eddie. Patricia was just thankful that she wasn't the one to ask, it would have been the most awkward conversation with Mr. Sweet ever, because she assumed that Eddie had passed in the news about their breakup. Victor ended up providing the information instead after the Anubis residents kept pestering him with questions. Patricia couldn't help, but notice how similar it was to Joy's disappearance.

And it scared her. Good lord it terrified her.

"Mr. Miller will not be returning this year,"

Weeks after Victor broke the news, Patricia found herself with her finger over the "call" button of Eddie's contact. She released the breath that she had been holding as she pressed the little green button on her cell phone.

"This number has been disconnected. If you would like to make another call please hang up and try again,"

She broke out in a cold sweat and her breath hitched. No, no no! This was not happening again. The school really had the nerve to do it again. She shut her eyes and pressed the call button again, there had to be some type of mistake.

"This number has been disconnected-"

She cursed under her breath as she stormed out of her room and down the hall and straight into Victor's office. She didn't care what punishment he was going to produce out of his magic hat, she had to to have answers.

Slamming her phone down on the old man's desk she didn't wait for his screaming to start. "What the heck is going on?" He glanced at Eddie's contact. "Don't you dare lie to me Victor, I'm not stupid, not by a long shot. I've known more then you ever have about this Egyptian crap in the past two years then you've ever known in your whole life! Now tell me what is going on with Eddie or I'm going to march into that little cellar of yours and find out for myself! Rules or no rules, it's happening."

The man was obviously taken aback, but it did not phase him in the slightest. "Mrs. Williamson, do not get involved in situations that do not concern you," His voice raised and his index finger pointed in her direction.

"DONT CONCERN ME? THIS CONCERNS ALL OF US!" She picked up her phone and left despite Victor's screaming that echoed the hall behind her.

"Well," Patricia mumbled to herself as she bit down on her lower lip. "this is getting me no where." She shut the drawer of Mr. Sweet's desk and peered over the top. She was good, coast was clear.

A piece of small white paper caught her eye on the corner of his desk.

Scrawled in Sweetie's messy handwriting. There was a name, Eddie. With a seven digit number written underneath.

A grin appeared on her lips and she quickly took out her cell phone to put in his number.

She quickly looked around the room to make sure everything was back in it's place before she made a run for it.

She got to the woods and when she made sure she wasn't followed she took out her phone and punched in Eddie's number into her keypad. She sucked in a break as she walked over to a worn down gazebo near the middle of the forest.

She shut her eyes as the ringing on the other end of the line stopped. "Hello?"

It was him.

"Hello? Okay whoever this is, I'm hanging up now,"

Three seconds passed before she finally got up the nerve to speak. "No wait!"

"Patricia?"

"Yeah. It's me,"

"How did you get my number?"

"Umm..," She bit her lip. "I kind of ransacked Sweetie's office..but don't worry, I put it all back the way it was." He laughed. He actually laughed.

"No one tells us anything! Where are you?" She bit down on her lip again, hard. "It's like Joy's disappearance all over again and it really had us freaked out-"

"Yacker calm down! I'm okay. I was going to come back this term until my dad sent me a letter in the mail to let explain to be about all of this Osiren business, something about The Chosen one, aka, Nina and I not being able to be in the same place. Some weird Egyptian myth. I didn't get all the details,"

"That's it? Good lord Eddie it scared me to death!"

It took her only a few moments to realize what she said and quickly clamped her hand over her mouth. She waited for him to respond as she weighed the possibilities of how he would take it to heart.

"It did? Did it, well in that case maybe I should disappear more often,"

"Shut up you moron!"

If he was there, she would have slapped him.

Eddie didn't come back that following year either, but Patricia had talked to him on the phone plenty of times and they still managed to keep in touch; despite the distance apart and excessive amounts of money they had to pay on their phone bills each month because of long distance calling.

As the redhead turned to look in the mirror at herself in the long red graduation gown, she smiled. She'd told Eddie the week before, via phone call, that she wasn't really looking forward to graduating. The Anubis students had all planned to keep in touch, but she knew that life would probably get in the way and it wouldn't happen near as often as they hoped.

She turned around once to get a better view of herself and moved a piece if hair or two out of her face. "Patricia are you coming? We have to be at the school in twenty minutes!" Joy's shrieks came from outside the bathroom door.

She groaned. "I'll be right there!"

With one last look in the mirror, she left the bathroom.

The ceremony was shorter then expected, and after tons of hugs from her housemates she made her way to her sister, Piper, and her parents where they all wished her was to be a small after party and then everyone was headed back to the house to pack up their remaining personal items.

"Congrats high school graduate!"

It couldn't be.

She spun around so quickly that she almost lost her balance.

Behind a bouquet of yellow roses stood a brown eyed American boy. He was known to the world as Eddie Miller.

"OH MY GOD, YOUR HERE!" Eddie barely had enough time to pass the flowers over to Joy before Patricia attacked him in a full on hug. "I can't believe you're here." She squeaked again, softer this time as she released her death grip on him.

"What you thought I'd miss you graduate Yacker?" His eyebrows rose. "You should know me better then that by now."

"Hush," She quieted him with a finger to his lips, which only received a laugh from him.

His eyes danced over her red gown and under that a deep purple dress with a pair of black heels that made them eye level to one another. Her red hair was pulled over to the side in updo- downdo sort of number. She was beautiful.

"Never thought the day would come where I would see you in heels,"

She met his eyes. "I can take them off if you want me to, my feet kind of hurt, but that means you have to carry them,"

"Im okay," He assured her as she giggled a bit.

"Come on," She pulled his arm and grabbed the flowers from Joy. "Everyone is going to want to see you."

"You guys never change," Eddie laughed as he shook his head.

"I know," Patricia remarked as she sat beside him on the couch in the living room of Anubis House. "I never thanked you for the flowers, so thanks Slimeball."

"Your welcome," He slung his arm over the back of the couch. He looked over his shoulder at where Amber was still talking to Mara, and a girl that he'd met tonight, KT. Apparently she was the one who took his spot in the house.

"So you fly in to see me graduate, what's next for you hmm?"

"Actually, I'm planning on staying in England for the summer with dad," His lips curved into a smile. "We'll see what happens after that. I've graduated too you know; a week ago."

"Your staying? Sweetie's idea, I bet he missed you too."

"It wasn't dad's idea, it was mine."

Any normal girl would have kissed him right on the spot for that. There was no denying that the feelings were still there, but Patricia wasn't a normal girl.

"I'm glad,"

"Good to know." Eddie replied and cleared his throat. "You know, you look really good in that dress."

She held back a blush and thanked him once more. "I kind of missed you, but don't tell anyone. They might get the wrong idea,"

"Good. 'Cause I kind of missed you too Yacker,"

"Good," She confirmed as he leaned down to press a kiss to her cheek.
