Blade in Duke

Sure enough, Lee and Dr. Martinez found Tina with a knife in her hand. Standing in the middle of a library, she just stared at the two with glassy eyes.

"Tina!" Lee started to run towards Tina until Dr. Martinez grabbed him by the arm.

"No!" Shaking his head, the doctor held up a hand. "If you were to reach three feet of her, she would kill you! Remember that Irwin is the master here! He can control them with his mind."

"Then what should I do?" Lee asked. His eyes were on Tina like a man who had just returned from war to find his wife a prisoner.

"Talk to her." Instructed Dr. Martinez. "Remind her who you are and who she is. Your words can bring her back, can break the master magicians control!"

Lee freed himself from Dr. Martinez's grip and slowly started to walk towards his beloved. "Tina… It's me… Lee… Your husband… Remember how long we've been in love for… We were classmates together in school... Tina, please remember who we are… You're a journalist… The best one there is! We have friends waiting for us back in Canada… Tina… I love you and seeing you like this is heartbreaking… Please come back to me…"

And then Tina blinked. "Lee?" She sounded kind of groggy, like she had just woken up from a deep sleep. Looking at the knife in her hands, Tina gasped and threw it aside.

Walking towards his beloved, Lee wrapped his arms around her. "Everything is alright, Tina. I promise."

"Oh, Lee… I felt so lost, like I was trapped in a maze…"

Suddenly a gunshot went off! Lee turned, with Tina still in his arms, and saw Irwin Dexter fall to the floor. Dr. Martinez's eyes widened in complete shock as an injured, more so than usual with the leg and all, Basil Hagen hobble into the library clutching his right side. He looked worse than he should have but it was his right side that people were looking at.

"It's all over?" Basil asked. Lee and Tina both nodded happily. "Then that's it then!" And with that Basil collapsed.

Lee and Tina did leave for Canada. Steve Carb ended up a wiser man after this and became good friends with all of his fellow former zombies. As for Basil, he did prove that zombies were real and went on to marry Cherie Burlyn' Carb's maid.
