A/N: You guys asked me earlier if David's situation was for real and he went to live with his father and sisters well here is your answer. Up to this point we have seen things purely from Darlene's perspective and thought that, it would be interesting to see of what David's thoughts might be over the situation. Forbidden Love

Chapter 10: Memories
It was seven o'clock that evening and David Healy lay stretched on his bed, drawing in his sketchpad. It had been a long day and his mind had been going back to the brief conversation he had with Becky earlier that morning. He have no doubt that Becky had told Darlene about his call the only question was now if Darlene would call back. He would not blame her if she did not want to. He had said some nasty things to her, things he could never take back.
David sighs
He closes his eyes briefly, before opening them once more. David set down his sketchpad and pulled out a box. Inside was a collection of different pictures of Darlene and David together. One in particularly was the image of the two of them from their Prom. Darlene looked so beautiful that night. It had been the first time he had seen her in a dress and make up. The memory brought a smile to his face for a moment.
He wondered how Darlene was doing. Becky had mentioned that her mother had enrolled Darlene back in High School again. David knew that Darlene must be miserable there, he remembered how much she hated it before which was why she was so determined to go to art college. When it finally happened, of what should have been a joyous occasion for her was taken away because he did not get in and kept the news hidden from him. When he found that out of course he was angry, who wouldn't be in that situation? His girlfriend was leaving him.
It all went down hill from there with their relationship. She had left for college, leaving him behind with her parents. She came by for the occasional visit, but the tension between them was undeniable. Eventually it got to be too much, they finally worked out a resolve, and he ended up moving in with her in Chicago, unknown to her parents. Things were good for a while, but soon they started to fall apart again. They began fighting on a daily bases, leading up to the fateful night when he called her the meanest person alive and told her he did not love her anymore.
God, he would do anything to take it all back now.
That was the night too when Roseanne had discovered their secret that the two were living together. Afterwards, she took him back home with her and his brother Mark. After that, David was in the older woman's debt, in exchange of her not telling Dan the truth he had to do house work. She worked him like a dog until he could not take it anymore and confessed to Dan about what happened with him and Darlene in Chicago.
He felt good about it at first, but when Dan and his massive frame stood in front him, he quickly realized the mistake he had made and began trembling inside. David did not recall ever feeling that terrified in his life. Not even with his mother. It was no secret to anyone that she used to hit him. However, none of that compared to this. Dan barely kept his anger under control as he told him that he had a half an hour to gather his belongings and get out of his house, that Roseanne would take him to the train station.
He did as he was told and Roseanne took him to the train station. When they got there, she told him she absolutely refused to send him to his mother, until she could convince Mr. Conner to let him move back in she suggested David could move in with Jackie but the teenager did not want to impose on this family more than he already have. David said that he could move in with his father and sisters. She was uncertain at first until the young boy assured her while he was not the most attentive, compared to his mother he was the most stable and she let him go.
He have been living with his father and sisters Nicky and Alex for the past week now and while it has been adjustment getting use to the new surroundings. It was all right so far. For the next few weeks, his father would be working the night shift at the auto repair shop, which left David to take care of Nicky and Alex, making sure they ate their supper, had their bathes, brushed their teeth and went to bed on time. After they are asleep, he did his own homework before going to bed himself.
Some people would consider the situation unfair, but David really did not mind. It gave him a chance to spend time with my sisters who he have missed dearly and also have some time for himself which was good considering all that he was going through at the moment. At the end of the day, he hoped that Darlene was doing all right, and that she was happy. He also hoped that she would find love again, it was obvious they were not meant for each other but that did not mean there was not someone out there for her and he was sure she would find them someday.
David then put away his pictures back in the box and put it away. Afterwards, he got under the covers, turned out the light and slowly drifted off into a deep and peaceful slumber.
