Hi Guys!
I am happy to have finally gotten chapter 10 out, I did have a couple of ideas in this that were brought in sooner than expected but I am happy with it.
I might not be able to update for the next week and a half since I have a 22 page Ancient History booklet assignment that needs to be done, as well as a book to read for English and a practice Exam for that class as well, and start writing up questionaries for my Society Personal Interest Project ( And this is during my school break! the teachers seem to be punishing us !)
Also there was some confusion over the mysterious woman at the end of last chapter, to clear things up no it was not Evanna in Natasha's body ( Shaun's adopted mothers body ) and she was merely viewing the conversation that had taken place in the Diner between Adam and the others.I don't want to give away too much but I will reveal this, yes she is the mysterious sorceress Adam was talking about, and that she is the main Villain for Wicked Fan's 5 ( yeah it is quite a bit away, but it gives you something to look forward to) and she will make a few appearances till than.
Reviews:
Doglover645: Yep, and yeah XD but you're better ( physically ) in this chapter. hahaha yeah Adam is a dragon sorcerer, oh and be prepared for some GoldenCurls fluff at the end of this chapter. ( for anyone who don't know, GoldenCurls is the ship between Adam and Glinda )
Jewlbunny: *Shush* that is a secret XD, yeah she does a bit in this chapter, hope you enjoy.
Animelove100: Sorry but you were incorrect, I explained above who the mysterious woman is, Evanna in Natasha's body isn't that mysterious since the group already met her, plus the hair is a completely different colour XD and yeah Adam has secrets, I will give you a hint, he has another secret which concerns Caine, which will be revealed soon.
Rosepetal33: Ahahaha, yeah I kind of through that at you guys didn't I XD, if you think that Adam and Cassandra was weird ( do you have any ideas for a ship name for them, I was calling it GoldenTooth) he has a few other ex's that may appear later in the story ( *hint* a certain puppy stealing Villainess who drives a Panther Deville)
Fae'sFlower:No no, I explained above the whole mysterious woman thing and that she was merely watching the meeting with the others using her mirror, there is no evil Elphaba or anything of that nature. And good eye, she does know my character and did know me when I was younger, however it will be slowly revealed over the next few stories as she is the villain of story 5. Hoping this chapter pleases you.
Disclaimer: I don't own Wicked, it belongs to Gregory Maguire and all of its other respective owners, I do however own my OC's, and any other OC's belong to their respective creators
(Flashback: Oz)
Evanna stared down at Shaun who was currently in a sitting position on the ground; there were a number of ruins and symbols marked beneath him as well as a red circle made from blood surrounding him, he was shirtless and several symbols had been marked onto his skin.
The room was lit by many candles and Evanna stood in front of him with a large book opened in her hand. The room had a large skylight which was opened to reveal the night sky above, they were currently in one of the towers connected to the Dark Castle.
"The ritual shall now commence" she said as she handed Shaun a small blade, he cut into his left palm followed by his right, and handed the knife back to Evanna before placing his hands over a small entrenched circle carved into the stone which surrounded him inside the circle of blood, squeezing his palms the blood from his hands dripped into the stone circle, slowly filling it up and spreading around.
Evanna began to chant softly in an unknown language as the candles flickered, the room began to grow colder as a breeze began to blow. The ruins in the ground began to glow a dark colour and the ones drawn onto Shaun's chest began to glow and pulse as well.
The wind outside began to pick up as dark clouds began to fill the sky above the tower and the candles flickered more wildly as Evanna continued to chant faster.
Shaun's body began to shake slightly as he opened his eyes to reveal red piercing orbs which were glowing slightly. The blood from his cuts forming a perfect circle which began to rise up slowly from the floor, the ruins began to pulse more violently as he found himself being risen up into the air along with it.
Evanna smiled devilishly at the sight before she waved her hand in the direction of the blood as it began to move and shift, the circle began to spin and turn around his body as he was convulsing and growling due to the process.
The sky was now black with clouds and the winds began to pick up more inside the tower, leaves and loose objects were thrown about wildly as lightning crackled across the sky.
Evanna's chanting became louder and louder as a dark shroud covered Shaun, his body becoming surrounded by the mist and the blood that was surrounding him suddenly was sucked into the shroud.
Instantly the smoke began to shift and contort before Evanna screamed out the final incantation and a bolt of lightning came crashing down directly onto Shaun's body before he came crashing down onto the ground, the dark mist slowly dissipating.
Evanna smiled in satisfaction at the sight, she calmly set the book down and walked over to his unconscious form, his chest was now clear of the ruins and his body had no signs of injuries except for some soot and ash that was clinging to his skin.
The mist finally cleared, pooling around an object on the floor Evanna reached down delicately and picked it up and brought it to her face to observe it.
It was a dagger.
A dagger that was longer than an average dagger but not overly long, it was not straight like a regular blade it was wavy in appearance with a black handle, the blade itself had black markings inside the wavy borders.
However turning it over to see the opposite side, Evanna's smile widened immensely
Shaun's name was imprinted in black lettering on the blade.
The ceremony had been successful.
Ciel entered the room and Evanna turned to him.
"Take the Huntsman back to his room, he will need time to rest." She said while staring at the dagger.
"Yes Your Majesty" Ciel said while approaching Shaun, but before he could he turned to her with a confused expression.
"I still don't understand Milady, what purpose was the ceremony for, why go through all that trouble for a Dagger?" he questioned.
Evanna turned to him with a contemplating look before smirking.
"I don't see any harm in telling you. This isn't just an ordinary Dagger, and that ritual was one of extreme difficulty" she said while looking down at Shaun. "It can only be done on certain rare occasion, and the necessary preparations are even more difficult, even if they are done correctly there is a high chance of failure during the ceremony, however this time I was successful!" she exclaimed gleefully.
"I've done something that only one other has done before" she said holding the Dagger proudly.
"This Dagger is a mystical item now, of great power. The Huntsman is bound to it in life and death." She said as Ciel listened in curiosity.
"If anyone were to now possess the Dagger, they can control the Huntsman completely, as long as the person were holding the dagger in their hands they would have complete and utter control of him, like a puppet on a string" she said with a smile.
"But why create something like that? He is already loyal to you Milady?" Ciel questioned.
Evanna's smile lessened slightly.
"It is an insurance policy, for though he obeys me completely due to the curse I have on him, all curses can be broken, and I needed something to insure that if that ever did by some chance happen, then I would still be able to control him." She said running her left hand over the metal blade.
"The curse on him can be broken?"
"Yes, by the most pathetic and ridiculous means of all, 'true loves kiss' it sickens me, that's why I placed a charm on the girl, Rose, so that they wouldn't have the desire to kiss each other, I couldn't have her ruining my plans" Evanna said.
"You're brilliance knows no end Your Majesty" Ciel said earnestly.
"Yes, that is true. And I almost forgot another condition of the Dagger" she said as she picked up the large book she had used and with a wave of her hand it disappeared.
"If someone were to kill the Huntsman with the dagger" she said before pausing slightly.
"They would gain his power"
Evanna than made her way to her vault, to lock away the Dagger inside, and make sure that it would remain safe in case she ever needed it.
(Flashback End)
(The House)
The Sun was shining and the sky was a bright blue, the occupants of the large pink coloured mansion were up and commencing with their day.
Or at least most of them were.
Adam was preparing a cup of coffee for himself as Elphaba was boiling some eggs on the stove.
Jefferson was not present however as he had left rather early, he had informed Adam that something had come up and that he needed to return to his own world, Adam had bid his former student farewell and had told him that he would come and visit him soon.
Nia was eating some cereal at the table while simultaneously poking Hope in the side, the other girl was still a bit sleepy.
"Niiiaaa, come one stop it" she whined slightly as she slowly took a bit out of her toast.
"Nope, not until you wake up fully, you're about three seconds away from face planting into your plate" Nia replied as he poked her in the ribs once again.
Hope grumbled slightly before taking another bite of toast.
Holly was at the left of Nia and had just finished her breakfast; she got up to take her plate to the sink.
"Hey you guys have any of you checked on Julie yet?" she said with concern, she like everyone else we're worried about the younger girl.
It had been only yesterday when she had discovered her parents had died, and at the hands of some evil fairy that somehow knew Julie.
Adam turned to her and sighed.
"She should be waking up soon, her body should still take some time to recover physically, mentally however." He said before pausing.
"It may take her some time before she comes to terms with her loss, and how she deals with it may vary, but we have to be here for her no matter what" Adam said with a frown.
"I hope she's ok" Elphaba said as she was preparing a plate for herself and one for Fiyero who was still getting dressed.
"Losing a parent or in her case two, can be one of the worst things to happen to someone, age regardless" Elphaba said before turning to Adam.
"Did Shaun ever have that problem when you first adopted him?" she asked.
Adam shook his head.
"No, due to his accident a lot of his memory was in pieces, he believed that Natasha and I were his birth parents and that he had simply been in an accident, however after your ordeals in Oz his memories have been restored, I'm not sure how he has dealt with the truth of his birth parents death, and if he has had troubles he hasn't externally shown it" Adam said before his eyebrow quirked up.
"Where the hell is that boy anyway? It's almost Ten o'clock"
(Shaun's Room)
"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"
Shaun was lying across his large bed diagonally, the sheets were scattered across the bed and the blanket was covering his legs only, one arm was hanging over the side of the bed and his head was turned in the other direction lazily, his hair was once again in its natural wavy curly state but was flattened and suffering from major bed hair.
"Up and at 'em, time to wake up!" came an overly cheery cry as suddenly Shaun's eyes flew open before squeezing shut as his curtains were opened and sunlight filled the room. Shaun opened one eye slightly to see Glinda standing there in a pink robe and smiling brightly. Shaun gave no response before burying his head back down into his pillow. "Oh, come on you're wasting daylight here, you should be out of bed at this time" Glinda said enthusiastically. All she got in return was a groan and the blanket was pulled over his head. However a few seconds later and Shaun found the blanket ripped away from him by the Blonde who had seemingly made it her mission to destroy his sleep. "Everyone else is awake" Glinda said as she folded the blanket up and placed it on the end of the bed. "Hmmm Don't Care" he mumbled. "I woke Rae up" she said gesturing to the door to where Rae stood in her pyjamas, she looked slightly sleepy still. "That's her problem" Shaun mumbled from under the pillow.
Glinda stepped over to the side of the bed and was about to pull the pillow off when she felt something under her slipper.
Peering down her nose crinkled in disgust.
"What is this?" She said slowly, motioning towards the floor, Shaun moved his head to the right slightly and saw a now squashed sandwich on the floor, it was half eaten.
"Oh…That's a peanut butter….and bacon sandwich" Shaun answered tiredly, he was about to close his eyes once again before Glinda's voice interrupted him yet again.
"Whyyyy is it on the floor!" she whined as she tried to wipe of the grease and peanut butter from her slipper using a tissue.
"I got hungry, so I went and made that last night; I guess I fell asleep before I could finish it" he answered tiredly.
"Who falls asleep eating a sandwich!?" Glinda exclaimed loudly.
"Me apparently" Shaun answered before burying his head under the pillow yet again.
Glinda pinched the bridge of her nose slightly before sighing.
"Ok enough of that, I want you to get up and come join the rest of us for breakfast, it's not healthy for you to stay up till all hours of the morning and then expect to sleep all day, now you-"
Rae cleared her throat slightly, interrupting Glinda's speech.
"Um, Glinda"
"Yes Rae?" Glinda said turning to the young girl who was looking in from the door frame.
"He's asleep"
Glinda turned to look back at Shaun who was face down on his bed.
"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"
"Rae, I need you to get me a bucket"
.
.
.
.
"ARGHHHOOOUUGHH BLOODY HELL"
(Downstairs several minutes later)
Shaun was now sitting at the table with a towel around his neck, his hair still slightly damp and a frown upon his face which was directed at Glinda.
"I can't believe you threw a bucket of water at me!" he exclaimed.
"It worked didn't it?" Glinda said as she took a sip from her mug.
Nagisa and Jane who were on the left of Glinda were hiding their laughter behind their hands.
"Hey at least you won't need a shower" Nagisa said before laughing again.
(Julie's Room)
A small groan was heard from under a thick blanket on Julie's bed.
Nia had spent the night staying in Rae's room since hers was bigger and had more room.
Julie slowly crawled out from beneath the covers, her eyes red and puffy and her hair was a mess. Looking around groggily she noticed the water placed on her bedside table and reached for it, the cool liquid bringing much needed relieve to her throat.
She set the cup back down and slowly looked around the room, the curtains where still closed and little light was shining through.
Letting out a breath she slowly got up, making her way out into the hall with a white comforter wrapped around her from her bed. She didn't know why she was going downstairs, when internally all she wanted to do was go back to bed and cacoon herselfaway from everything and wait until the whole crisis was over.
Slowly making her way down the stairs she braced herself for the ensuing awkwardness she knew would come, but continued on until she reached the kitchen.
Instantly all eyes drifted to her, she tried to ignore their stairs and the others then tried not to stare so intently at her.
Holly, who had been rinsing her cup at the sink, made her way over to Julie with a look of concern.
"Julie, are you-"
"I'm fine" Julie interrupted, her voice was cold and unfeeling which caused the older woman to flinch slightly at her tone before Julie walked past her to fridge, the blanket still wrapped around her like a shield.
She looked through the fridge for a few seconds before deciding there wasn't anything they're that she felt like eating at the moment and turned around and headed towards the counter, resting against it she turned to the others at the table.
"Did I miss anything, you know when I was away?" she asked, though her voice lacked her usually enthusiasm.
"Not much, Oh except when Adam showed up and went all crazy Yoda on their asses" Jane said, though she too felt a lack of her usual enthusiasm.
Julie turned to Adam with a slightly raised eyebrow.
"I'll explain everything later" Adam said before walking over towards the young girl.
"But we need to set something straight" he said as he now stood next to her.
"It's not your fault" he said evenly.
"I'm sorry, what?" Julie asked in confusion.
"You're parents passing, you shouldn't blame yourself for what happened" Adam said softly, he had been studying the girls face since she walked in the room and knew what was going on in her head.
Julie turned away slightly, her expression more guarded.
"I don't, it was Cassandra, and she's crazy and for some reason seems to want to take it out on me" she said shortly.
Adam put a hand on her shoulder and turned her towards him.
"It's not your fault" he said once again, the same soft tone in his voice.
"I know, why do you keep saying that" Julie asked annoyed.
He placed both hands on her shoulders and looked directly into her eyes.
"It's not your fault"
"Stop it!" she exclaimed as she fought to get his arms off her, yet his grip seemed to be unwavering.
Her movements became more and more hysterical as she kept hitting him in the chest as her breathing became faster paced.
"Stop it stop it stop it!" she cried out as everyone looked on in shock as she dissolved into tears, Adam pulling her into a firm embrace as Julie was trembling and shaking in his arms.
Her head was buried into his chest as he felt dampness seep into his shirt as she cried, that didn't matter however as he held her in his arms and tried to comfort the devastated girl.
"It's going to be ok sweetheart" he said softly as he stroked her back comfortingly with one hand.
"It's going to be ok"
(Several Hours Later)
Elora was sitting alone in the kitchen; she was holding a light bulb in her right hand and focusing on it, the light bulb was flickering slightly before its light shone brighter, she smiled at the result.
"That's really good"
Elora gasped in surprise slightly as she dropped the light bulb, it fell onto the table luckily without breaking.
Turning she saw Elphaba standing there smiling at her.
"Sorry to surprise you like that, but I just wanted to see what you were doing" the green skinned woman said as she sat down next to Elora.
The teenager let out a small chuckle before directing her to the light bulb.
"This was Adams idea, he said I should start gaining control over my powers and gain more stamina with them, apparently though he said I have to start small and work my way up, he wanted me to try and see how long I could power a light bulb as well as changing the level of brightness in it" she said as she held the bulb in her hand.
"That's a pretty smart way of thinking, it's beneficial to have control over the finer points of your abilities before trying to do anything to over the top" Elphaba said.
"Yeah but this is like my sixth bulb, the others I accidentally overcharged and they blew up" she said pointing to a waste basket which contained several broken bulbs.
"I'm surprised I was able to fight against those tooth knights, I'd never used my powers like that before and I didn't think I could use them to fight" she said as she made a spark dance across her fingertips.
Elphaba gave her a small smile.
"It may have been a spur of the moment thing, or possibly your survival instincts and your desire to help the others which gave you the edge you needed" she said as Elora smiled back at her.
However Elora's smile turned to a look of confusion.
"There's something that I still don't get though, during the fight there was a moment when I almost got squashed by this falling debris" she said to which Elphaba's eyes widened and she placed a hand on Elora's shoulder.
"What! Were you hurt? Why didn't you say anything sooner?" Elphaba asked as she disliked any of the younger members getting hurt, even Holly who was older was still younger than her and she always felt concerned for them.
"No I wasn't hurt at all, and this is the confusing part that I still can't understand. That guy who was with Evanna, and Cassandra, I think his name was Ciel, he saved me" she said in confusion.
"He used this weird pink crystal to teleport to where I was and then teleported us out of the way"
Elphaba looked on in contemplation; this was news to her, especially since Ciel was considered the enemy, though when she thought back on it, even though he seemed to be willingly serving Evanna and had back in Oz, his main goal upon coming to Earth seemed to be killing Shaun.
"That is strange" Elphaba said. "Though I don't know much about him, you'd have to ask Shaun if you want more information, he is the one who spent the most time around him back when we were in Oz."
Elora looked out the window into the backyard with a confused look on her face.
'Why would he save me?'
(Later that night)
Adam had finished explaining everything to Julie, the girl had been upset all day and had finally gone back to her room, and Holly and Nia had gone with her as they both wanted to comfort her and since Nia wanted to sleep in her room once again. Glinda had also accompanied her but had come back out soon after, saying that she seemed to be holding up ok.
Glinda now made her way to the roof once again, she found herself going up there more and more at nights. It was just so peaceful, to look up at the stars and feel the breeze flowing through her hair, for a moment it would seem like all the problems they were facing would just disappear.
"Lovely night isn't it, dearie?"
Glinda turned to see Adam who was already on the roof.
"Oh, I didn't know anyone was up here" she said.
"It's no problem" Adam said as he sat down, Glinda sat down near him as they both gazed up at the stars.
"So, you're a sorcerer" Glinda stated as she turned to him.
"Yes I am, I do feel bad for keeping it from everyone for so long, but some things need to be kept secret, until the correct time as to when it is necessary" he said as he looked out at the sky.
"It's ok, you were only doing what you thought was right" she said before she smiled at him.
"So tell me, what's it like being part dragon? Is it really Ozarific?" she asked excitedly, Adam chuckled slightly at her questions.
"Well it has its perks" he said before standing up slowly and smirking slightly.
"Watch this" he said before he walked towards the edge.
Glinda let out a gasp as he walked over and dropped out of view.
"Adam!" she cried as she rushed over towards the edge only for Adam to come flying up from below and hover in mid-air, his body seemingly floating on nothing as he smiled down at her.
"I hope I didn't scare you there, dearie" he said with a smirk.
Glinda sent him a glare in return.
"That wasn't funny mister, getting me all worryafied and scared like that!" she exclaimed before folding her arms and turning her head away.
Adam released a small chuckle.
"I couldn't resist, I haven't flown in years" he said, but Glinda stubbornly kept facing away from him, Adam smiled as an idea came to him.
"How about I make it up to you?" he said with a smile.
Glinda's head turned slightly.
"I'm listening"
"Come flying with me"
Glinda turned to him with a raised eyebrow.
"Flying with you?"
Adam nodded.
"I want to go and see some sights and the best way to get there, is to fly" he said before lowering himself down to the roof.
"And it would be my utmost pleasure to have you accompany me, Ms Arduenna Upland" he said as he smiled kindly at her.
Glinda felt her cheeks redden slightly.
"Of…Of the Upper Uplands" she stumbled slightly before clearing her throat and putting on a more regal façade.
"Why I would be delighted Mr. Gold, or should I call you Prince Adam" she said smiling in her regal demeanour.
"Gold is fine Milady" he said with a slight smirk.
"Well I'll just go and get my wand and then I'll be right back" she said in her normal tone.
"Why do you need that?" he asked with a confused look.
"Oh, for my Bubble of course" she answered as if it was the simplest thing in the world.
"That won't be necessary" he said casually.
"I can carry you with me"
Glinda looked at him with widened eyes.
"Say what?"
"I can carry you with me while I fly, it isn't difficult" he said offering her a hand, Glinda stared at it before looking back over the edge slightly.
"Are you sure?" she asked, her tone tinged with nervousness, she was fine by Bubble travel, at least then she had something around her, even if it was a Bubble, but this was more open and she did feel nervous.
"Trust me" he said with a smile.
Glinda found she was nodding subconsciously; his smile seemed to grow as she took his hand.
However she wasn't prepared for him to suddenly scoop her up and hold her bridal style before slowly rising up into the air off the roof.
"Eep!"
Glinda found herself wrapping her arms tightly around his neck as Adam chuckled softly, the house below them slowly disappearing as they flew further away, the night sky becoming more prominent as Adam flew higher.
Glinda let out another small shriek as Adam suddenly let her legs go and extended her arms off his neck so that he was holding onto her right hand; however she looked to see that her body was still floating along with his, an orange glow seemingly emanating from her body that was coming from Adam's hand, allowing her to fly with him.
"Didn't think I'd let you fall, did you dearie?"
"Well you had me worried for a second there"
"Even If I did I would make sure to catch you before you hit the ground"
"Adam!"
"Ahahahahaha"
(Back at the House; Shaun's Lair)
Shaun stood still as he looked down at the box he had taken out from behind the book case, he had placed it in their along with the books of Dark Magic that he kept hidden, however this box was something far more precious, it was black with simple designs.
With a wave of his hand a small golden key appeared, he tentatively placed it in the lock and slowly turned it, hearing the click of the lock opening, he slowly opened it.
Inside was an object wrapped in black satin cloth.
He gently unwrapped the cloth slowly, and stared down at the object with narrowed eyes.
Placing his hand down into the box he ran his hand along the object before picking it up and raising it up into the light.
It was the Dagger.
Turning it slowly he gazed at his name imprinted on the Dagger before closing his eyes.
