Ty;; so I know it's been forever, and I apologize. I've been pretty overwhelmed with a lot of things and haven't had any inspiration to write until recently thanks to my twin who proofs basically all of my stuff. Oh, and side-note from a review I had (I'm not mad about it, but due to the comment I wanted to make sure there was no confusion about this). I personally know basically all of the names of the dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park series, but I made the decision of Rachel not knowing each and every dinosaur which is why in my last chapter I didn't call the ceratosaurus by name. I'd rather my character nor I come off as a know-it-all, like I am now…-shifts eyes- (seriously hoping I don't sound bitchy because that was not my intention) Anyway here it is. Hope you enjoy.

DISCLAIMER: I don't pretend to own the Jurassic park series aside from my own copy of the movies. I give all the credit to Stephen King for this amazing series. But I will take credit for Rachel and adding her in where I found appropriate

"Remember when we went fishing a couple of summers ago?" I overheard Paul reminiscing with my sister and nephew. I let a small smile come across my face, happy for my family, but still not happy enough to join them.

"You okay?" Allen came up to where I placed myself against a tree.

"I'll be fine," I managed and picked at my finger nails avoiding his gaze.

"You know, Billy doesn't really have any family," Allen started and hesitated when I looked up at him. "There's some stuff back at the dig site – if we ever make it back. I was wondering if you were interested in helping me go through his possessions."

I let out a sigh still feeling it was too soon for me to accept Billy's fate, but I knew that this discussion had to happen. "Might as well."

"I was also wondering if maybe you'd be interested in working for me seeing how interested you are in this species and me being one member short –"

"Dr. Grant, I don't have the right degree," I turned him down immediately.

"It's mostly volunteer right now. It doesn't pay much, but it's a learning experience. Never cared too much for degrees anyhow."

Mentally, I groaned at Allen's offer. It would be hard for me to concentrate knowing that I was taking Billy's spot because of his untimely and completely unfortunate death. I looked back at my picked at nails before looking back up at the man before me. Before I could turn down his offer again, I could see in his eyes that he really wanted me a part of his team. "Of course I will," I gave in.

"Thank you." He gave me a small smile and walked off a bit before calling out to my brother-in-law and waving for us to follow after him.

"That lady you called. Who is she?" Eric asked Allen as we continued our journey to find the coast. "How do you know that she can help us?" I held back my laughter at Eric's curiosity.

"She's the one person I could always count on. I owe her a lot. I don't think I ever told her that."

"You should," I told Allen. "You never know when you'll be dragged and stranded onto an island taken over by dinosaurs. Can't take the chance of someone never knowing how you feel." I forced out a laugh hoping to ease some of the negative emotions, but before Allen could react he stopped us from moving any further with a concentrated look on his face.

"You hear that?" he finally broke the silence. I took a moment to listen hoping to hear what he was hearing, but Eric interrupted before I had the chance.

"The ocean," he nearly shouted out as Paul and Amanda caught up to us. Once it was said, we all began to run in the direction of the sound of crashing waves. However, once we got into a small clearing, we were encircled by a group of Velociraptors.

My heart raced as we put our backs against each other so to keep eyes in every direction to avoid too much of a surprise if we were to be attacked by the creatures.

"They want the eggs. Otherwise, we'd be dead already," Allen muttered to us, breathlessly. I held back my tears as the dinosaurs squawked at one another. "Everybody, get down. She's challenging us." Once we squatted to the ground, Allen slowly reached for his bag to grab the eggs. As Allen attempted to retrieve the eggs, what I assumed was the mother of the unhatched babies, made her way forward and towards me and my sister. She looked between the both of us as if she was making a decision. "She thinks one of you stole the eggs."

"Get behind me," Paul said protectively once he was aware of what was going on, but before we could move the mama Velociraptor hissed at Paul. Once Paul crouched back behind us, she sniffed Amanda once and then looked to me and nuzzled her snout against my hair as she sniffed me.

"Give me the eggs," Amanda cried out.

"No, she smells Billy on me. It's his smell that probably lingered at the nest. I have to give them to her." I told her with more strong of a voice than I expected. Allen opened Billy's bag, revealing the eggs which caused one of the other raptors to begin squawking. I didn't lose eye contact with the mama raptor as Allen handed me the eggs. I outstretched my arms as far as I could before setting her eggs on the ground and pushing them further from me. As I did this, I heard a shrill, airy screeching sound come from Allen and for a second the mama raptor cocked her head to the side in confusion before the other raptors began to make a fuss.

"No, call for help," Paul stated quickly before the dinosaurs could attack. Allen then blew into the prototype once more and mimicked the squawking sound of the raptors. This caught their attention. At the sound of blades, all but two of the raptors dispersed, leaving us in a state of slight confusion. Once the two remaining raptors grabbed the eggs and left, relief washed over me and we all looked around in disbelief before Paul jumped up stating that the noise was coming from a helicopter.

The rest of us followed suit and found the coast where a lone man stood calling for Dr. Grant through a megaphone. As we ran towards him, shouting to him to not use the megaphone, three tanks and three helicopters appeared to our rescue.

"Wow," Eric muttered in amazement. "You have to thank her now. She sent the Navy and the Marines."

"God bless you, Ellie," Allen muttered as a huge smile spread across his face.

JJ-Jefferu;; Aw poor heart broken Rachel. She better get some lovin' in the next chapter

Ty;; I know, so sad Anyway, there it is! I think there's going to be two more chapters? I know it's kind of a short story, but I'll leave it as incomplete for a while just in case I decide to write a few random one-shots afterwards (which I know the last chapter I have in mind will be basically a one-shot) that I may possibly have in mind. So, review and tell me what you think, it'll help me get this finished before the year is over!

JJ-Jefferu;; reviews are the motivation to the next chapter coming out!
