Thank you for your continued patience while I updated all my stories, this one included. I am in the process of writing some new stories, this time, on some couples I've never written before so I wanted to challenge myself. I got asked awhile back from a few readers if I've ever considered writing for 'Electrick' (Patrick/Elizabeth). I have taken up that request and am now 7 chapters into that story. I am planning on having 10 chapters written (and proofed by my beta) before I start to post them. I noticed a few stories on Michael Corinthos/Starr Manning and got inspired. My third new story is on Johnny Zacchara/Elizabeth. I am not as far into those two (only 4 chapters so far). If any of you are fans of any of those 'couples', I hope you will let me know so I have an idea on how many possible readers I would have. If you have never heard of them or not sure on them, I ask that you give them a chance because who knows? You may find you enjoy them. But, I will leave that up to you. I will give you a heads up when I'm ready to post, but if you are following me or are on my favorites list, you will also know when the story is out. Before I end this 'Author's Note', I wanted to thank those of you who continue to review/follow/favorite 'Confessions from the Heart'. They are appreciated and inspire me. Chapter 10

(Nikolas and Elizabeth are outside Laura's house at her front door. They face each other before Nikolas speaks)

Nikolas: "Are you okay? I mean, after what happened last night?"

Liz: "Am I okay that I finally told AJ the truth? Yes. Do I feel bad that I broke his heart?" (sighs) "It's never easy when that happens."

Nikolas: "Do you regret it?"

Liz: (smiles briefly) "No. He deserved to know the truth on how I feel. I knew if I didn't say anything, I would be leading him on and that wouldn't have been right."

Nikolas: "He put his heart on the line, I'll give him that." (sighs) "Baby, I never had anything against the guy. I have always respected him. But the day he laid his claim on you knowing you weren't sure of your feelings and turned the tables on you, that's where I thought the line needed to be drawn."

Liz: (shakes her head in confusion) "I just...I never thought he was capable of such violence. I always thought he was a kind and considerate man." (sighs)

Nikolas: (assures her) "I will always protect you, my love."

Liz: (tilts her head & smiles) "Thank you for staying the night." (shyly) "Even though it was on the couch."

Nikolas: (shakes his head) "I would never leave you when you're scared, sweetie. Whether it would be sleeping on the floor beside your bed or on the couch where I was, I just want you to feel comfortable and safe."

(Nikolas blushes slightly before smiling a little)

Nikolas: "Would I have liked to have slept beside you in your bed? I'm not going to lie and say the thought never crossed my mind. But I would never pressure you to do anything you didn't want to do or weren't ready for. Would I have liked to have held you in my arms all night? Yes. But I don't want you to think I would ever take advantage."

(Elizabeth smiles as she rests her hand on his cheek)

Liz: "I know you would never take advantage. You're too kind and considerate." (blushes) "Being we're being honest with each other, ever since we confessed our feelings for each other, I have missed your gentle touches and the way you hold me and kiss me. But I know it was never the right time to act on our love for each other being I was still with AJ."

Nikolas: (nods & smiles) "Don't worry, I understand and I agree. As much as I have dreamed of us together, it wouldn't have been fair to AJ because he didn't know how you truly felt." (sighs) "I will always be sorry for hurting the guy. But I will never be sorry for how I feel about you. I may have been with other women in the past, but you were the only one I truly loved."

Liz: (smiles) "My sweet prince, I have always loved you as well."

(They both lean forward and share a kiss. If they weren't standing outside Laura's front door, they would have kept the kiss going. But they knew they needed to break apart and see Laura. They face the front door and Nikolas knocks. They hear a faint 'coming' before the door opens, revealing Laura. She greets them)

Laura: "Hey, sweetie! Hi, Elizabeth! What a pleasant surprise."

(Nikolas rolls his eyes playfully before facing his mother)

Nikolas: "As if you didn't already know we were coming, mom."

Laura: (chuckles) "Well, I hoped you two were coming. But I thought maybe Elizabeth had to work or you were busy with Spencer."

Liz: "Oh, Cameron is in school and Jake is in daycare. I have a shift shortly after this visit, so Audrey will take the boys until my shift is done."

Laura: "I'd be happy to watch them if Audrey is busy. I have no plans and it's been awhile since I've watched them."

Liz: (nods & smiles) "I'm sure she will appreciate it."

Laura: "Oh, I'm sorry! Come in, you two."

(As they all head inside, they continue chatting)

Liz: "Cameron gets done with school at 3 p.m. and I usually pick up Jake around the same time."

(Nikolas and Elizabeth take off their coats and set them on the arm of the couch next to them before they all sit down)

Laura: (nods) "Sounds good." (to Nikolas) "Where's Spencer?"

Nikolas: "He is at his tutoring session back at the house. The nanny will give me a heads up when he is almost finished then I will head back."

Laura: "If you want to, honey, I can take him for the day as well. Depending on when the boys have school again, I would be more than happy to take them overnight."

(The couple looks at her in shock and briefly glance at each other before speaking)

Nikolas: "Mom, are-are you sure?"

Liz: "You don't have to, Laura."

(Laura quickly shakes her head and smiles)

Laura: "Nonsense! It's been awhile since I have watched them and I miss my grandsons."

(The couple glance at each other once more before facing Laura)

Liz: "Are you sure you can handle all three of them?"

Nikolas: "Yeah, mom, three young boys with lots of energy can get a bit wild at times."

Laura: (smiles) "They didn't tell you they wanted me to take them sometime, did they?"

(Nikolas and Elizabeth look at each other in confusion before facing the older woman)

Nikolas: "No, Spencer didn't say anything."

Liz: "Neither did Cameron or Jake."

Laura: (chuckles) "It was actually supposed to be a surprise. They wanted to come over and I thought it was a perfect idea so you two could have some time together."

(Nikolas and Elizabeth can't help but smile at Laura's idea. They couldn't help but then shake their heads at the somewhat devious plot Laura thought of)

Nikolas: "I can just imagine what went through your mind when you thought of this."

Laura: (innocently) "Can I help it if I want you two to be happy?"

Nikolas: "Isn't it a little early considering the situation with AJ right now?"

Laura: (alarmed) "Oh! That's right! Elizabeth, I was meaning to ask you how everything is going in that department."

Liz: (scoffs slightly) "Let's just say I finally told AJ last night I didn't feel for him what he does for me and it didn't go very well."

Nikolas: (scoffs a little) "That's putting it mildly."

Laura: (nervously) "I take it it didn't go very well?"

Liz: (raises her eyebrows) "You mean when he accused me to sleeping with Nikolas the entire time I was with him? Or that I blind sighted him with everything?"

Laura: (puzzled) "I know you too well, my dear, you would never be with my son while you're seeing AJ. Has AJ really become that insecure that he would think that?"

Nikolas: (sighs) "He has it in his mind that I've been planning to take her away for awhile now. I tried telling him that even though I loved Elizabeth, I would never do that."

Laura: "But he wouldn't believe you." (sighs) "For as long as I have known AJ, he has always had bad luck in the romance department. I feel bad for him, but I hope he finds the woman he is meant to have soon. Obviously, that's not you, Elizabeth. Even though I have sympathy for him, I can't help but still be happy for you two. Even when you two didn't realize it, you were fighting your feelings for each other when Lucky was around. Elizabeth, I know you loved Lucky at one time, but it was clear that you two drifted apart when you didn't even notice it. During that time your feelings for Nikolas became clear and in the end, too strong to deny. While I will always love Lucky, I know you two aren't meant to be." (smiles a little) "I think you have always known who truly held your heart, even when you didn't realize it and even when you were with AJ."

Liz: (nods) "You're right. Through everything, my heart has always been with Nikolas. I know some people don't understand, but obviously I can't please everybody."

Laura: (agreeing) "You can only please yourself."

Liz: (sighs deeply) "I just hope Monica will respect this in the end."

Laura: (nods) "I know she wants her son to be happy, but I don't think she would expect you to be with him if you two weren't completely happy."

Liz: (raises her eyebrows) "AJ would have been happy, at least in his own little world." (sighs sympathetically) "I think deep down he knew it wouldn't have worked out because the feelings would've only been one sided. And you can't have a relationship based on that."

Nikolas: (shakes his head) "No, you can't."

Liz: "I have never seen him react that way...the way he did last night." (to Laura) "Nikolas had to sleep over last night. But I asked him to as I was scared of what AJ would do."

Laura: (puzzled) "Where was Spencer?"

Nikolas: "The nanny was kind enough to stay with him when I told her about the situation. She understood I needed to be with Elizabeth."

Laura: (smiles) "You have a very sweet nanny."

Nikolas: (smiles) "Yes, I know. I paid her double for agreeing to stay."

Laura: (sighs) "Have either of you seen AJ since last night?"

Nikolas: (shakes his head) "No."

Liz: "No and truthfully, I hope I don't for a few days as I'm afraid of what he may do."

Nikolas: (to Liz) "That's what I was actually hoping to discuss with you."

Liz: (confused) "Okay? I-I don't understand."

(Nikolas looks at his mother and then Elizabeth before sighing deeply. He knew he should have discussed this with his girl before now. He was hoping he wouldn't piss her off by springing his idea on her, but he honestly believed in his heart that this was the right solution for the moment. If she didn't like it, he had a backup plan)

Laura: "What are you talking about, Nikolas?"

Nikolas: (to Liz) "I'm sorry I didn't bring this up until now, but I had an idea and I wasn't sure what you'd think."

Liz: "Of the situation with AJ?"

Nikolas: (nods) "Yes."

(She couldn't help but wonder curiously what he had in mind. She nods before telling him to continue. Nikolas admitted to himself he was a little nervous of her reaction and answer, but he knew he had to at least put it out there)

Nikolas: "My idea is...come stay with me at Wyndemere. If you prefer me to bring Spencer to your place, I will. What do you think?"

(Meanwhile on the pier by the docks, AJ and the mystery person are still talking. The person looks at AJ in fascination before speaking)

Person: "So, you have a proposition for me, huh?"

AJ: (nods) "That's right."

Person: (raises their eyebrows) "Does it involve Nikolas Cassadine?"

(AJ looks at the person, wondering how the hell they could read his thoughts)

AJ: (surprised) "How did you know?"

Person: (chuckles) "I may not always be in Port Charles, but I always have my guys tell me when things happen...or when things get interesting."

(AJ folds his arms as he thinks for a moment. He did not expect the person to know everything that happens in Port Charles)

AJ: (shrugs) "I take it you knew about Cassadine and Elizabeth Webber?"

Person: (nods) "Yep." (smiles wickedly) "I make it my mission to know everything."

AJ: (angrily) "Then you know that the asshole took my girlfriend away from me."

Person: (amused) "Are you sure she was yours?"

AJ: (angrily) "She would have been in the end if it wasn't for him."

Person: (laughs) "You sound like a man scorned."

(AJ looks at the person in front of him full of rage and shapes his hands in the shape of a fist)

AJ: "Are you going to help me or not?"

Person: (shrugs) "Depends on what the job entails."

(AJ looks into the person's eyes with a deadly glare)

AJ: "I want Nikolas Cassadine dead."
