Ziva was ready for Tony by 6:45. She was dressed a knee length black dress with black heels. She was wearing a pearl necklace with matching pearl earrings. She was pacing the room watching the clock waiting for Tony.
At 7:00 sharp, there was a knock at the door. Ziva knew Tony had a key so she went to the door to answer it. Upon opening the door she was greeted by a bell hop. He was holding a large bouquet of red roses. "Delivery for Miss David." "Thank you." Ziva took the flowers and brought them inside the room. There was a card. It was in Tony's handwriting. "Here's to you sweet cheeks. I hope tonight will be all you even hoped it would be. Love Tony." Ziva smiled after reading the note.
As if on cue there was another knock at the door. Ziva smiled and opened the door. Standing outside was Tony. He was dressed in a tuxedo with a rosebud in his lapel. "I am calling for Miss Ziva David." Tony grinned. Following Tony's lead Ziva opened the door motioning for him to enter. "Will you not come in Mr. DiNozzo? Can I offer you a cocktail before we go to dinner?" Tony smiled as he walked into the room and behind him was a waiter with a bottle of champagne.
"No need my dear. I brought my own." The waiter opened the champagne and poured them each a glass. He quietly left. "May I propose a toast?" Ziva nodded. "You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. I have loved you since the day we met. Wish I had realized it much, much sooner. To a wonderful night and a great weekend." Both of them took a drink. Tony took her glass and set it on the table.
"We need to go. "
"Really we could just stay here if you like." Ziva offered.
"No, I have plans for us tonight. You wanted a real date and you will have one." Tony took her arm and escorted her toward the door. He smiled and then he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. "I hope you enjoy this evening as much as I enjoyed planning it," he whispered.
"I am sure I will."

Tony escorted his lovely Israeli princess to the elevator of the main building. As they stood waiting for the elevator Tony turned to Ziva. "Have I told you tonight how beautiful you are?"
"Yes, but I could hear you say it forever. Have I told you that you look very handsome in that suit?"
"No I don't, I am just a reflection of your beauty." He pulled her into him and gently kissed her lips.
The elevator opened and they walked into an empty elevator. Tony could not help but chuckle. "What is it Tony?" "Just remembering another elevator," he smiled. "I knew I loved you then but now. I love you more now since you became the mother of my children." He stopped and reached for the stop button on the elevator.
He stopped the elevator and looked into her eyes. Ziva looked puzzled. "What Tony?"
"I wish I had told you in that elevator before the bomb blast how much I loved you. Maybe we would not have been apart for so long."
"No need to look back, Tony. We cannot change the past. I could have told you also but for some reason I kept silent as well." He pulled her close and kissed her firmly with all the passion that had been pent up for years. The couple soon had to give into the need for air and broke apart. Tony leaned against Ziva's forehead and smiled. Ziva could not help but smile back. "Tony, we could order room service."
"Again David, you are so beautiful I want to show you off. Besides I am hungry. And I hear that the food in this place is to die for. " Just then his stomach put a punctuation mark on the conversation. Ziva reached over and started the elevator. She then took Tony's arm and laid her head on his shoulder.
The elevator door opened and they were greeted by the head waiter of the hotel's penthouse restaurant. "Welcome to the Blue Ridge Grill," he replied smiling.
"My name is Anthony DiNozzo. I believe we have a reservation."
"Yes, Mr. DiNozzo, Miss David, we have your table all ready. Follow me if you please." He grabbed two menus and walked toward the large ceiling to floor windows. The windows looked out over the lake. There was a full moon was just rising over the water. The view was breathtaking. Tony graciously held out the chair for Ziva with a huge grin on his face. He then gently pushed the chair and his lovely Ninja up to the table. Tony then went around and took the chair across from Ziva. The waiter placed the menus in front of each of them.
"Can I get you something to drink?"
"We will like to have a bottle of your best champagne." Tony smiled. He reached across and took Ziva's hand.
"Right away sir." The waiter left and the music from the live band started playing softly.
"Ziva, would you like to dance?" Tony whispered he began tracing hearts on the palm of her hand. "I would love to dance with you, Tony but we should order first, should we not," she smiled. Once again his stomach growled as if on cue. Ziva could not help but smile. Tony nodded letting go of her hand and turning to his menu.
"Should I order oysters?" he joked. Ziva could not help but blush slightly. "Oh wait this is our first date. Bad form."
"You think Tony." She glared at him but she loved when he teased her. She had missed their teasing. The waiter soon returned with the bucket containing iced champagne. He expertly popped the cork and poured some for Tony to taste. Tony sipped the champagne and after smiling at the waiter he motioned for him to pour them both a glass. Ziva picked up the glass and took a sip watching Tony over the top. Tony took another drink and then winked at her. "Ok, so no oysters so let's see what we can get for an appetizer. I know cheese fries." Ziva made a face. "No fries huh. I see they have stuffed mushrooms. What do you think?"
"That sounds wonderful." Ziva smiled. Tony quickly ordered the mushrooms. The waiter left them to decide on their entrees. "So do you see anything you like?" Tony asked. Ziva looked at him and smiled. "Really?" "I was going to say the company but the chicken looks wonderful."
"I think I will have the steak." Tony knew what she meant and he really hoped that dessert would include one on one time with his ninja princess.
The waiter returned and took their order. Just then the band started playing the song "Can't help falling in love with you". Ziva did not recognize the song but Tony did. He stood up from the table. "Miss David, please dance with me." He held out his hand. Ziva took his hand, smiling his usual cheeky grin Tony lead her out on the dance floor. Tony then took her in his arms. Ziva naturally laid her head on his chest. Tony quietly began to waltz her around the floor as he sang the words of the song softly in her ear.
The music came to an end and they kept dancing without the music. Tony finished their dance repeating the final words of the song. "Like a river flows surely to the sea. Darling so it goes. Some things are meant to be.
Take my hand, take my whole life too. For I can't help falling in love with you."
Ziva then looked up into his eyes. He had tears filling them. She reached up and wiped them out of his eyes. "That was wonderful. I cannot help but love you as well." They walked hand in hand back to the table. Neither of them noticed that they had become the center of attention of all the diners in the restaurant.
Just as they sat back down the waiter delivered their food. They spent the evening talking, Tony catching Ziva up on what had happened in Washington while she was away and Ziva filling him in on the twins first three months. Both were smiling and laughing just enjoying each other.
The waiter returned for their dessert order. They decided to spilt a large piece of chocolate cake. "If you will excuse me Tony, I need to go freshen up." Ziva started to stand. Tony immediately jumped up and grabbed her chair pulling it out for her. "I will not be long. Please save me a couple of bites if our dessert is delivered before I come back."
"Hurry back or no promises." Tony smiled his eyes flashing.

Ziva entered the ladies restroom. She looked into the mirror. She did not realize how much she had been smiling until she saw her face in the mirror. "You look lovely my dear." Ziva turned and was greeted by woman in her mid-seventies.
"Thank you." Ziva checked her hair and then washed her hands.
"Are you and your young man on your honeymoon?"
"No, we are on our first date." Ziva told her.
The woman looked shocked. "Your first date? You two seem to be so much in love. I would have sworn you had been together for years." Ziva stammered slightly. "Please excuse an old woman's curiosity. I did not mean to upset you."
"Oh no you did not. We have been together for 8 years just not as a couple but as friends." Ziva managed to say. The older woman smiled. "We worked together and just never admitted our feelings until recently."
"Well, take it from me. You two make a wonderful couple. Now that you are together do what you can to stay together." She advised.
"Oh I will." Ziva smiled and walked out of the restroom. She walked back to the table with a huge smile on her face.
"What's up?" Tony asked.
"Seems we are the center of attention. "
"Really?" Tony held Ziva's chair for her pushing it carefully back to the table as she sat down. "What are they saying?"
"Well this lady in the ladies room thought we were on our honeymoon." Ziva told him as the waiter delivered their dessert.
"Oh Really?" Tony took a bite of the luscious chocolate cake. "Well my dear Ziva, if we were on our honeymoon we would be eating this in the cabin." His blue eyes were just sparkling with mischief. "And I would have ordered the oysters."
Ziva took a small bite of the cake. "You would not need the oysters but maybe a couple of Abby's Caf-Pows more." She was flirting with him and Tony loved it. A fake look shock filled his sparkling green eyes.
"Are you sure, Sweet cheeks?" he grinned.
She nodded taking another bite taking great pains as she licked the thick sweet chocolate off her fork. "Oh I am sure Tony."

The couple slowly finished their dessert and then left the restaurant hand in hand. When they stepped out into the night the full moon was overhead casting a glowing shimmer across the lake. "Let's take a walk around the lake" Ziva nodded. They began to walk arm in arm still talking about the twins and their time apart.
"I really missed you, Tony." Ziva told him as they found a small bench under a tree with a view of the lake.
"I was lost without you Zi. I am not ashamed to admit this. I was drinking too much. I was sure that Gibbs was going to fire me or worse. He was close to shooting me." He had tears in his eyes as he took her hands. "I know that we have not talked about this but I don't think I would survive if you left again."
Tears filled Ziva's eyes as she took Tony's hands in hers. "Gibbs would not have killed you Tony. He would have only wounded you. "She smiled between the tears. " But I do not want to leave you again Tony. Our children deserve both parents. Neither of us had a great childhood and I want our babies to have what we did not have." All Tony could do was nod because he was too choked up to speak. Ziva wrapped her arms around him cradling his head against her chest. "We both deserve happiness," she whispered.
After taking a few minutes to collect himself Tony looked up into Ziva's slightly wet chocolate brown eyes, he said, "Ziva I am not sure if this is the time but Gibbs always says go with your gut." Tony reached into his suit pocket and retrieved a jewelry box. "This maybe kind of corny but here goes." He got off the bench and got down on one knee in front of her. He took her hands in his. Ziva stared at him with a mixture of shock and nervousness. Tony could not help but smile as he saw her bite her lower lip. Her black hair almost glowed in the moonlight. Her eyes have a sort of a wet sparkle as she looked at him. "If I have learned anything over this year Ziva is that when you have the brass ring right in front of you, you need to grab it. It may not come around again." He pulled her hands to his lips kissing both of them.
More tears started to fill Ziva's eyes. She was apprehensive that he was going to purpose to her now. She was so afraid it was because of the twins. She definitely did not want to force him into this. "Tony?"
He took his hand a gently placed it over her mouth. "Ziva, I brought the receipt for this ring. I bought it the day after I got off the plane from Israel. I always knew I would see you again. I knew you would come back it was just a matter of time." Ziva looked at him and smiled a very small smile. She had always known that to. She knew that she had to come back to him.
"But Tony." She started to say but the look in Tony's eyes stopped her.
"Let me finish Ziva before I chicken out. " Then Tony opened the box. Inside was a beautiful silver ring with a black pearl in the middle surrounded by a diamond circle. "I walked into the jewelry store and I saw this first. It just screamed give this to Ziva." He handed Ziva the box. The diamonds captured the moonlight and the ring almost just glowed. "Now I want you here in Washington or I will go back to Israel with you. I want you to be my wife. I can't live another minute without you, Zi. Please believe me. Twins or no twins I would have asked you this as soon as I saw you if I felt it were appropriate." He took her cheek in his hand. "Ziva David will you marry me?"
Ziva gulped down her nerves and looked into his eyes. She knew almost in an instant that he was asking her not because of the twins but because he was deeply and truly in love with her. "Tony," she gasped. "I never thought I would have the happy ending." He looked at her with a look of love and hopeful anticipation of her answer. "Yes, Tony I will marry you."
Tony smiled grew astronomically as he heard the word yes. "Are you sure Zi?"
"Tony, I have lived alone. I stayed in Israel to start a new life. I got the twins but would not have had them if not for you. I came to America nine years ago a dangerous woman. Now I am a mother and soon to be a wife. I call that a new life. So yes I am totally sure."
Tony rose off the ground and joined Ziva on the bench. He took her in his arms and then kissed her passionately. Ziva just melted into his embrace. They continued to kiss in the moonlight for what seemed like hours. "Zi," Tony whispered. "Let me put this on your finger. I want the whole world to know you are mine." Ziva nodded smiling so big her cheeks hurt. Tony removed the ring from its box and slipped it on her finger. Ziva lifted her hand up into the moonlight. It looked magnificent on her small slender hand.
Tony held her closer. "Why don't we continue this in the cabin? I want to make love to you." Ziva said nothing she just nodded and got up from the bench. She took Tony's hand and led him off down the path toward the cabin.
Little did the couple know was they had an audience to their proposal. Over in the bushes by the boat dock stood a tall dark figure dressed in a black trench coat and a hand down over its eyes. "Well Tiva, we will just see if you get your happy ending," the figure growled, "If I have anything to say about it you will never see a wedding chapel."
AN: I hope you like what I wrote. Please let me know what you think about Tony's proposal. Thank you for all your reviews.
