Alice's POV:
"Congrats!" exclaimed my mom.
I smiled and nodded. Oz's dad patted his back hardly and smiled.
"I knew you can do it", he said smiling proudly.
Oz smiled and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well, I'm glad we won", said Oz.
The customers were clapping for us. We bowed.
"Dessert on the house!" exclaimed my dad.
The customers cheered. Oz and I went upstairs. It was quiet.
"Well", said Oz, "Congrats."
I smiled.
"You too", I said back.
Oz nodded. It grew awkward quickly. He looked over and saw my necklace.
"You're still wearing that", he said warmly.
I blushed.
"W...well, what do you expect?" I stuttered.
He smiled and ruffled my hair.
"Well, get some rest", he said.
He went to his room and closed the door. I stood there frozen. My heart was beating fast. I grew hot. What were these feelings that I was growing? I sighed and walked to my room. I changed into my pjs and plopped on the bed. B-Rabbit was there and sat in front of me.
"Going to sleep?" it asked.
"Of course", I said smiling.
"Just know that when you arrive there, Jack will be in anger", said B-Rabbit.
"Why?" I asked.
"Well, he got mad at Oz for some reason", it said.
I nodded and laid on my bed. B-Rabbit came under my arm and laid next to me. It was warm and soft. I closed my eyes and smiled. What would the adventures take me on next?
When I opened my eyes, I saw Jack pacing back and forth angrily.
"Hi there", I said.
Jack froze and turned to me. His face was red with anger.
"Hey", I said, "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong?" he asked, 'Its Oz."
"What did he do this time?" I asked.
"He told Sharon to tell me that she had threw my pocket watch away when it was clearly in my room!" he exclaimed, "She threw it in the sea!"
I blinked.
"That pocket watch is very special to me", he said, "I made it."
I blinked again and got up.
"At least it's safe", I said, "You can't stay mad at Oz forever you know."
He sighed.
"You're right", he said.
I smiled and nodded. Jack sat down on the couch and put his hands between his face.
"I didn't want to lose it", he said, "Like how I almost lost you."
I looked at him curiously.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"It's nothing", he said.
He got up and took my hand gently.
"Shall we go meet with Oz and Sharon?" he asked.
I nodded. He led me to the main room and I saw Oz there. He looked so depressed. He looked up and saw Jack. He got up and ran to him, yet Jack held out his arm and stopped Oz.
"I'm so sorry jack", he said in tears, "I didn't mean to pull that trick on you."
"I forgive you", he mumbled,
"What?" asked Oz.
"I forgive you", mumbled Jack a bit louder.
"What are you trying to say?" Oz asked.
"I said I forgive you!" exclaimed Jack, "Just don't do it again or else I wont let you off that easily."
Oz smiled and grabbed his legs.
"Oh thank you!" he exclaimed excitedly.
Jack nodded and left the room. Oz was being dragged, yet he pushed him away. Oz smiled and smiled. I held out a hand to help him up. He took my hand and I looked away. He didn't let go of my hand until Sharon had got in between us. I looked at Oz. The heavy weight on my shoulder was killing me. It was two different versions of the same person. I looked down and sighed. I walked out to find Jack. He looked so much like Oz. He had a kind heart. I saw him outside next to a fountain.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Just because", he said.
"Oh you must have a reason really", I insisted.
He sighed.
"Well, I come here to regain my patience and to lose my stress", he said calmly.
I sat next to him and looked in the water.
"I see", I replied.
He looked at me and smiled.
"I've noticed something", he said.
"What?" I asked.
"You are attracted to Oz in your world and you're attracted to me in this world", he said.
"W...W….what?" I asked nervously, "No what makes you say that?"
He looked at me closer.
"You're blushing", he said.
"No I'm not", I rejected.
"You are", he said smiling.
I looked down with embarrassment.
"Still, what would that mean to you?" I asked.
"It means that you like me and Oz at the same time", he said.
"No, I don't", I rejected again.
Tears started to form in my eyes.
"Don't lie to yourself", he said softly, "Only you knows what's right or wrong."
A drop of my tear dropped and glistened in the sunlight. I was tired of having these feelings for two guys at the same time. I don't know who to go to. I closed my eyes tighly.
"Hey", he said.
He lifted my chin and made me look at him.
"You know who you like", he said, "It's all in your heart."
He smiled. I looked down. He wiped away my tears and hugged me tightly.
"I know that you have trouble", he whispered, "Yet, I urge you to stay strong."
He kissed my head and got up.
"I'll leave you to yourself", he said smiling.
He took a step away from me. I grabbed his arm and held him there.
"Don't go", I said.
Jack looked at me surprised.
"I hate being alone", I said, "I hate being all by myself."
Tears were running down my face. I sniffed and held tightly to his arm. He looked at me and softened his face. He pulled on my arm and i let go. I thought he would leave me, yet I felt warm strong hands wrap around my waist and kept my close.
"I won't leave you alone", he said, "Never ever."
I smiled and held tight to him. All of a sudden, the ground started shaking.
"What's going on?" I asked surprised.
Jack looked around and held me close.
"Don't move", he said.
I looked around and saw a woman with long white hair. She looked like Abyss's mom. I froze at the sight of her.
"That's-", I started to say.
"The woman that started it all", said Jack.
I looked at him. He's been watching.
"You know her?" I asked.
He nodded.
"No time to explain now", he said, "Run for it while I distract her."
"No", I said.
The evil woman came running at me.
"GO!" exclaimed Jack, "I don't want to lose you."
"NO!" I shouted.
Her arms grew long and attacked us. We jumped and landed on a roof of a house. Jack looked at me seriously.
"Why won't you listen to me?" he asked.
"Do you see me as a weak girl?" I asked, "Always saying the damsel in distress?"
Jack looked at me and as another attack landed on the roof. I turned into B-Rabbit and hit the lady with my scythe and sent her far so I could tell him what I had to say. Jack landed next to me.
"I don't want you hurt", he said.
"I don't want you hurt", I said back.
"You don't understand", he said.
"No you don't understand", I said, "I don't want to be that girl that just lets the guys do all the dirty work!" "I want to help, I want to be a hero."
Jack grabbed my shoulders.
"I dont want to lose you!" he exclaimed, "I don't want to see you hurt. I don't want to see you sad. Every time you're near, you keep my heart racing!"
The women got up and was getting close.
"Do you trust me?" I asked him.
"Yes", he said panting.
"Then trust me that I won't die", I said.
"I'm worried", he said.
I did something that I wouldn't regret doing. I went close to him and kissed his cheek.
"I won't die", I whispered, "Trust me."
I backed away from his grasps and the woman attacked me. She got on top of me and started to claw at my face. I grabbed her arms and sent her flying again.
"YOU THINK YOU CAN BEAT ME?!" screamed the woman.
"Yea", I said with confidence.
"I WILL GET YOU FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" she exclaimed.
"In your dreams grandma", I said sternly.
That got her more angry.
"AHHHHH!" she screamed.
I cut her arm from her body. She was screaming in pain. Blood had rushed out from her. I didn't want to kill her. I'm not a murderer. She took out her ghostly sword and cut my cheek. I winced, yet I didn't back down. I grabbed my scythe and brought it down quickly across her chest. She screamed a very high pitch scream.
"If I ever see you here again", I said sternly, "I'm not going to let you go."
The woman started to disappear and it moaned. I turned back into my regular human body form. All the energy I had was drained. I fell to the floor panting. the blood from my cheek was slowly dropping to the floor. I saw Jack. He was right there. Standing still looking at me. I breathed hard and met my eyes with him. He took a step forward and stopped. I was getting dizzy. I got up slowly and staggered. I walked past him.
"I told you I'm not weak", I said.
I kept walking slowly. I stumbled and I thought I was going to hit the floor, but Jack had caught me.
"Look at you", he said softly.
"At least she's gone", I moaned.
The pain started settling in and I winced. Jack picked me up and we flew back home.
"What happened?" asked Sharon.
"She fought with the witch", said Jack, "Where's Gil?"
"He's upstairs", said Oz.
Jack didn't even replied. He went running upstairs and opened a door. There were two men sitting down in chairs.
"Oh Jack", said one man, "What brings you here?"
"Oscar", said Jack, "I need help healing this girl."
"Let me see", said Oscar.
He got up and Jack gently laid me on the couch. The man with long golden hair looked at me and smiled.
"Ah, Alice", said Oscar, "Long time no see."
I looked at him with dead eyes. He looked familiar. He looked like Oz's uncle. He started to clean my wounds and he put ointment on my cheek. The pain disappeared easily. As he was busy healing me, I saw Gil look over at me. He was staring at me for a while. He had dark black hair. He wore a white button up with a black coat around him. His black hat was sitting on the table.
"Is she ok?" asked Gil.
"She is", said Jack.
"Jack, is she the one that beat Abyss and Break?" asked Gil.
Jack smiled and nodded.
"I see", he said.
He looked at me some more until I fell asleep. When I woke up, I got up slowly. I looked around. Jack and Oscar wasn't there. I looked at the table and saw Gil. he looked up from his book and smiled.
"I see you've awakened", he said.
I nodded.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"My apologies", he said, "My name is Gil."
I nodded.
"I'm Alice", I said.
"I know ", he said, "You beat Abyss and Break."
I looked down.
"Where's Jack?" I asked.
"He went to the market", he said.
"Why?" I asked.
"He has some business to discuss", he said.
I got up and wobbled.
"Don't get up", he said, "You're body is still healing."
He got up and gently grabbed my arm and put me on the couch. I sighed.
"What are you reading?" I asked.
"Just a novel", he said smiling.
"Will you tell me?" I asked.
"It's about a girl and a boy", he said, "They were close friends until their parents had broken them up. Later as the years pass, they find each other again. She has to live with him and his brothers that soon fall in love with her and try their best to win her over."
"A love story?" I asked.
He nodded.
"I see", I said.
"Would you like me to read to you?" he asked.
I nodded. I laid back down and closed my eyes. The story that Gil was reading was going through my head and I felt tired. I fell asleep again. When I woke up, I heard some talking. I tried to stay asleep, yet I was hearing what they were talking about.
"So is this the girl that you love?" asked Gil.
Jack nodded.
"She's sweet isn't she?" he asked.
"She is", said Gil.
"Do you like her?" asked Jack.
There was silence.
"You know how I am with girls", he said.
"Yet you act different with her", said Jack.
"She's different", he said, "She has this dark soul in her."
"B-Rabbit of course", said Jack.
"Well of course", he said.
I opened my eyes and slowly got up. My body was aching. Jack saw me and walked to me and kissed my hand.
"Are you awake?" he asked.
I took my hand away and stared at him blushing.
"Sorry I was gone for so long", he said.
"It's ok", I answered back.
He smiled and rubbed my head.
"Well, you need to eat so let's go out to eat", he said.
I looked over at Gil. He looked at me and blushed.
"I-I'll be waiting outside", he said.
He left quickly.
"He's not good with girls", he said.
I nodded.
"Shall we go?" he asked.
I nodded. I took his arm and we went to the market to go eat. Gil walked right next to me. He looked uncomfortable. I looked at him. He looked at me and jumped back.
"W..What are you looking at?" he asked.
"Well, you look uncomfortable", I said.
"Well...I'm not", he said.
He walked a bit ahead of us. There was Oz and Sharon waiting for us.
"Oh Alice, Jack!" cried out Sharon.
She waved her hand wildly. I tensed up. Jack's arm pressed against me gently and I relaxed. We walked up to them. Oz looked excited.
"Alice!" he exclaimed.
"What?" I asked.
"There's a competition down the street and the reward is a free dinner at Le Von", said Oz.
"So?" I asked.
"It's a tango competition", he said.
"Why is everything turning into tango competitions", I mumbled.
"Will you do it?" he asked.
I looked at him.
"Fine", I said, "Who will tango with me?"
"Jack you must dance", said Sharon.
"Why not let Gil have a chance", said Jack.
Gil looked uncomfortable.
"I'm going to mess up", he said.
Jack went to him and hit his shoulder.
"Oh come on", he said happily, "It'll be fun."
Gil sighed and nodded.
"Fine", he said.
He came over to me and offered an arm and looked me straight in the eye. I took his arm and he led me to the center of the circle of people. People had clapped because they knew that I won the contest between Abyss and Break. All the guys looked at Gil with jealousy. The music started and we started tangoing. Gil was amazing. I felt like I was dancing with Oz. Even though he was really taller than me, I fit into his arms. I felt the whole world shift and I closed my eyes. I danced with the music and Gill followed. He spun me in the air. As soon as I knew, it was over. I looked around and the crowd was wild. No one could beat us so the judge gave us the ticket and shook our hands. I looked at Gil. He wasn't breaking a sweat. He looked surprised yet relaxed.
"Oh I knew you could do it!" cried out Sharon.
"I'll go reserve spots", said Oz.
He took the ticket and went inside. Jack smiled and whispered in my ear.
"You were dazzling", he said, "What a show that was."
I smiled. Gil looked at me and blushed.
"Nice job", he said.
"You did amazing", I replied smiling.
He froze and cleared his throat.
"Well, I'll go join Oz", he said, "You never know he might make a mistake."
He left quickly.
"Alice", said Jack.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Do you think you can make Gil comfortable with girls?" he asked.
"Why?" I asked.
"He wants to change", he said.
I looked at him and looked down.
"I don't know", I said.
He took my hand and looked at me.
"Please?" he insisted.
"I'll try", I said.
Jack smiled.
"Alright then", he said.
"Let's go eat', I said.
We went inside for a yummy feast. It was getting dark. I wondered what Oz might be up to. Where he was and how he was taking things in his world. I sighed and closed my eyes. The cool wind ran across my face gently and it was the best night ever.
Oz's POV:
"Alice", I whispered.
Alice opened her eyes and yawned.
"What?" she asked tiredly.
"Wake up', I said.
She got up and leaned against my shoulder.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"I just wanted to see if you were alright and all', I said.
She frowned.
"I am alright", she said, "Don't worry about me."
I smiled.
"Then, I'm glad", I said softly.
She went to sleep on my shoulder. I gently laid her down and looked at her creamy white face.
"ALICE!" I screamed.
Alice had blocked the attack that Abyss's mom was throwing at me. She fell to the floor and I looked at her bloody body. The witch laughed.
"Finally", she said, "Finally, she's gone!"
I looked at her with fierce eyes. The scene changed and this time her father had blocked the knife that was going to hit her. I blinked. Her father fell to the floor in pain. Alice ran to him and sobbed. She tried to make the bleeding disappear. The witch gotten taken away by the police and her father was taken away. Her mother was already dead right next to his father. I shook with fear. I ran to the witch and grabbed her shirt.
"WHAT DID YOU DO?!" I screamed.
The witch smirked.
"You're too late", she said, "She's next."
"Not unless I stop you", I said madly.
She smirked and got taken away. Abyss had tried to calm her down as Break called my parents. Alice ran to me and she was going to chase the car, but I stopped her. I grabbed her arm and brought her close to me. She tried so hard to get out of my grip, but was too strong. She weakened and she cried in my arms. I had tears coming out of my eyes. Her parents was dead.
The scene changed to a few years later. I was in the hospital. I looked around and Alice was there with tears. My parents were right next to her. I smiled and grabbed her hand. The scene changed again. There was Alice in a white dress. She was beautiful. Was I marrying her?
The last scene came and I held my breath. Abyss was in my arms all bloody. Alice was right next to her in Break's arms breathing slowly. I looked at Abyss and she was dead.
I snapped back to reality. I looked down at Alice. She was sleeping peacefully. I sighed. It was telling me the future. In the future so many people would die because of Abyss's mom. I needed to stop her. I needed to prevent that from happening. Would I do it correctly? I couldn't sleep all night. I was mainly looking at Alice's face and stroking her hair. When the sun came up, she opened her eyes and smiled. She saw me look at her and she pushed me off the bed with embarrassment.
"Oz!" she exclaimed.
I sat back on the bed and sadly smiled at her.
"Good morning", I said softly.
She frowned at my expression.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
I looked down. She put her hand under my chin and made me look at her.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
I shook my head.
"Did you have a bad dream?" she asked.
I looked down and didn't say anything. I brought her close to me and hugged her.
"O..Oz", she said softly.
She patted my back.
"It's ok", she said, "It's just a dream."
I didn't say anything. I didn't want her to be sad. I didn't want her to be so sad. I wanted her to be happy and smiling. I didn't want her to go through the pain. I sighed and pulled back and ruffled her hair.
"You should get ready", I said smiling.
She nodded and bluished. I got up and I left her room. Lacie was at the door waiting for me with B-Rabbit.
"Did you see the future?" it asked.
I nodded.
"Is there anyway I can change it?" I asked.
It shook it's head.
"You have to go with the flow", it said.
I tightened my fist.
"I see", I said.
There was no point in saving her father. There was no point. I leaned against the wall and sighed. I closed my eyes and grimaced. Is there anything that I could do?
