Chapter 10
"Tony, front and center." Gibbs had been tender with Aimee, but that was after the spanking. It was time to get stern again so he could finish this most unpleasant job.
"Uh, Gibbs?" Aimee pointed to the empty corner and heard a sigh of frustration from Gibbs.
After a thorough search of the inside of the house, Gibbs and Aimee did not find Tony.
Gibbs decided to go outside to look for Tony and admonished Aimee to stay inside.
Of course Aimee argued that she'd be helpful outside too stating that the more people on the job the better.
After a glare from Gibbs and an explanation of his need for her to stay inside in case Tony came back in, she gave in.
"I'll be right back. He is outside around the house. I won't be long. You are lucky I'm not making you wait in the corner."
Aimee gave a worried smile. Gibbs hugged her and said he'd find Tony. "Trust me. Remember, I'm the adult." He then walked outside.
Meanwhile, Tony had decided to hide in the shed. He wasn't sure what made him run. He trusted Gibbs with his life on the field, so why couldn't he take a little spanking?
As he was contemplating how stupid and cowardly he was, he heard that familiar, stern voice. "What were you thinking?"
"Oh, hi Gibbs. I don't know."
"Don't 'oh, hi Gibbs' me." Gibbs observed Tony's demeanor and felt sorry for him. "I'm not Senior, Tony."
"I know. Senior wasn't around to even come after me when I did stuff like this. He sent the staff after me and then when he had enough, he sent me to military school." Tony said with tears beginning, cursing his teen age hormones.
"Come here." Gibbs pulled Tony into a quick hug. At first Tony wanted to push away, unaccustomed to this affection. He then accepted it. Soon the two pushed apart with Gibbs' hands still on Tony's shoulders.
"I'd never leave you at a military school. Semper Fi."
"Thanks Gibbs."
"I'd tear your butt up instead."
"Abby's southern influence is rubbing off on you Gibbs."
Gibbs wanted to chuckle, but it was too soon for that. "Let me ask you if you remember The Shootist?"
"Well of course, Gibbs. That was The Duke's last film."
"When The Duke got angry at Gillom for trying to sell his horse without The Duke's permission, and asked Gillom's mom where Gillom was, what did she say?"
"Well the conversation went like this: He said: Where's Gillom?, Then she said: In the woodshed., then he said: That's appropriate."
"Why do you ask?"
Then it dawned on Tony. "I'm in your woodshed aren't I?"
"Yup. How appropriate."
"No fair Gibbs. You're using The Duke against me."
Gibbs could hear the pout in Tony's voice and did chuckle that time.
"Tony, I won't abandon you. You are a kid. You'll make mistakes and you'll pay for them, but it won't make me give up on you. This will not make me send you away. Nothing you'll ever do will make me think less of you. It is up to you, though, how sore your backside will be in the process."
"I'm such a coward for running. I'm so stupid."
Before Tony realized, he was tucked under Gibbs' arm and his backside was being swatted.
"You are not a coward. You are one of the bravest men I know. You can't be stupid or I would have never hired you." Gibbs explained as he swatted.
"Ouch! Okay Gibbs, okay! I get it." Gibbs released Tony after two more sharp swats.
"Oh, you haven't gotten it yet. Let's go to the house."
"Awww, can't we finish in here?"
"Nope, you heard Aimee's spanking. She needs to hear yours. Partners in doing the crime, partners in doing the time."
When Gibbs and Tony reached the house, Aimee was waiting at the door to hug Tony. She then popped his arm.
"Don't do that to me. You scared me."
"I'm sorry."
"All's forgiven." Aimee was just like Abby. She could get angry for a little while and then forgive very quickly.
"All is not forgiven yet. Aimee, corner. Tony, front and center."
Gibbs had sat back on the couch waiting for Tony when Aimee greeted Tony.
"Giiiibbs!" Aimee and Tony said in unison as they realized Gibbs hadn't dropped the consequences. Aimee didn't want to go to the corner and Tony didn't want a spanking, especially one from Gibbs.
"One!" Gibbs only got to count to one by the time his miscreants were in place.
Gibbs had Tony drop his pants, but like Aimee, kept the underwear. In no time Tony was over Gibbs' knee, which Tony protested at first, and then the spanking had begun anyway. It was always such a waste of time to argue with Gibbs.
In no time, Tony broke. "These extra swats are for doing a runner." Gibbs always secretly wished he could do this to certain criminals when they ran. Instead, he usually stopped them with his car door.
Aimee stood in the corner anguishing for Tony in his pain, but at the same time happy knowing that he'd begin healing from his past because of Gibbs. Senior was an absentee father like Robert was to Aimee and if Gibbs could help Aimee he could help Tony too.
Tony was feeling Gibbs' displeasure because a spanking hurts and one from Gibbs was painfully thorough. Nevertheless, Tony was also feeling a sense of relief wash over him in the midst of Gibbs' assault on Tony's backside because Gibbs was turning out to be the father Tony wished he'd had growing up.
When Gibbs sensed Tony letting go, Gibbs stopped the spanking. Tony got up and Gibbs pulled him into another quick hug. Tony needed to know that Gibbs would take care of Tony at all costs, but didn't need the "mushy stuff" as Tony called it.
After Tony and Gibbs finished Tony's spanking, Gibbs called Aimee to them.
"Aimee, front and center. Both of you sit."
Neither wanted to sit, but neither would argue at this point.
"I've gone through your punishments already and they still stand. You will get cleaned up and meet me in the basement in 10."
Gibbs knew his two charges needed a moment to share their wounds and to check on each other, so he smiled when they hurried up the stairs.
"You okay?" Tony asked first.
"Yes, but I have more experience than you. You?"
"I'm good." Tony smiled with that trademark smile.
"Gibbs will help you with Senior like he is helping me with Robert, you know."
"I know." Tony smiled again. "I just wish healing didn't also mean pain."
"No pain, no gain Tony."
They both laughed at that one and began down the stairs.
Nine minutes later found Tony and Aimee in the basement with Gibbs ready for instructions on the mailbox.
