"Why?! Why do we have to kill her?!" Exclaimed Naruto. "She could have killed me or taken me! She didn't! She still cares!"
"Look this hurts us all, but my hands are tied!" Tsunade shot back, eyes filled with tears.
"What do we do then? We can't kill her…" Sai said voice surprisingly filled with sadness.
"That's why the elders already sent the assassination squad. " Tsunade informed.
"You can't let them do this! Tsunade, you just can't. I have a feeling something else is going on with her and she just can't tell us." Kakashi begged.
"If you can find proof that there is something, then tell me, otherwise, even I can't stop the assassination squad once they've locked on target." Tsunade responded.
~~~Elsewhere~~~
"Out of curiosity why do you want to help us destroy Konoha?" Pein asked. "I understand that even though I didn't order the capture of the Kyuubi boy but, if you have a chance you should take it."
"I found something out; something that I didn't know when I was younger. I will admit that I don't want to destroy Konoha, but the elders are as good as dead." Sakura responded honestly. "When I was 5…
"Nee-Chan, Nii-chan, play with me please?" asked a 6 year old girl with bright emerald eyes, and pink hair.
A man with croppy brown hair smiled at the small child, "what would you like to play Sakura-Hime?"
"Hide and seek!" The child responded with a bright dazzling smile.
The women with light brown hair giggled and responded "Sure, but remember… Don't leave the castle young lady. " She then closed her eyes and started to count.
"I was the princess of the land of Atlantis; A place that non-citizens can only travel to every blue moon."
"I thought that place was a myth." Pein stated thoughtfully.
She continued her story.
Sakura continued to look around the castle looking for a place to hide. "55, 56, 57…"
"Nii-chan, you can't fallow me this time. The last time you and nee-Chan cheated and found me!" the child pouted.
"Fine, fine, fine." The man said. Sakura smiled and ran off. The man rolled his eyes and leaned against the wall.
Sakura chose to hide in the window drapes. "Mebuki nee-Chan will never find me."
"Sakura!" Mebuki shouted as she searched. "Oh. Kizashi, which way did she go?"
Kizashi smiled and pointed in the direction in which Sakura went.
"Mebuki and Kizashi were my guardians and my caretakers. They were ordered to take care of me while my mother and father were off on business trips around the land. I wasn't allowed to leave the castle because it was the second day of the blue moon.
"Found ya!" Mebuki exclaimed.
"No fair!" Nii-san told didn't he?!" Sakura accused.
Out of nowhere there were castle guards running around in a panic. "We're under attack!"
Kizashi ran up to Mebuki and Sakura. He had cuts all over his body. "They're in the castle. We need to move her now!"
Mebuki then asked "where do we take her?"
"We take her to the one place no one would expect. Konoha" He said. Sakura looked around and was scared.
"Kizashi bent down and said" Sakura-Hime climb on my back, I will take you to your mother." She did as she was told.
"My mother took Mebuki, Kizashi and my memories to keep us safe. All Mebuki and Kizashi knew was that they were supposed to love and take care of me. So they raised me in Konoha as their child."
"Who attacked the town?" Pein asked.
"Rouge ninjas. The land of Atlantis is not only a rich community, but peaceful people. They were powerful, however their pacifistic nature was the reason they sealed the city from the rest of the world. The rise of the blue moon was the only thing that weakened the barrier over the town." Sakura answered.
"Why do you want Konoha elders dead?" he continued to question.
"They sent my foster parents, Mebuki and Kizashi on a mission knowing they wouldn't survive!" She responded angrily. "After Mebuki and Kizashi died all of my memories returned. When asked Tsunade about their mission, she told me the elders sanctioned that. When I questioned them about it they told me they sent people who didn't matter."
"You wish to avenge them?" He stated while looking at her.
"I have to return to Atlantis and start over with the survivors. I have to help get that town going, but I can't without avenging them." She responded quietly.
He looked her over for a few minutes then asked, "Why didn't you tell your teammates?"
"Every time I tried, Sasuke would say how I had no right to talk about how "happy" my life was and how I was "lucky" to have parents. Naruto wouldn't let me finish my story. So finally I gave up. I couldn't tell Tsunade because that would put her in a compromising position. She would have to tell them of my heritage and I refuse to use my power for them!" She said calmly. "So I want then dead. Then I will return to my true home and make it great again."
"You have Akatsuki help. If you want just the elders dead, it will be done, if we can live with you in the land of Atlantis." He reasoned.
She was genuinely shocked. "Why?"
"All we want is peace." He said. "If that world is cut off from the world and is a peaceful place, we will help you keep it peaceful. None of us want to be ninjas."
"Ok if they all agree to this." She stated.
Pein bowed to her "Hime-Sama, I am your servant."
~~~Back in Konoha~~~
"Sakura, why did you betray us?" Kakashi thought as he was walking around her house.
"Kakashi," Sasuke started. "Did we really cause this?"
"She is strong willed. She wouldn't have left simply because of a few hurtful words. If that were true, she would have left when she was bullied." He responded.
As Kakashi picked up the pillow on Sakura's bed a journal fell out.
Kakashi and Sasuke looked at each other. Kakashi then picks it up and opens it.
I read somewhere that writing in journals releases stress, so… it has been two days since my parents went on that mission… since they've been gone I have been having strange dreams…
