Thank you thanks you thank you for all of your reviews: D have a big grin for the rest of the day Chapter 10 – need to talk

Arthur mind was racing. He had almost been killed, the first time something like that had happen to him. But luckily the chandelier fell on top of the old lady (Arthur find out was called Mary Collins the mothers of Thomas Collins who was exucatied a couple of days ago.) And luck Merlin push him out of the way just in time. Arthur though about the night carefully. The chandelier couldn't of just fallen on top of Mary Collins could it?

Arthur shook his head and thought about his cousin who save him. Arthur wasn't sure why after all they weren't as close as they were when they were younger. Arthur missed that connection and knew he mess that up by ordering to attack the druid camp. Arthur got up he had to talk to Merlin.

Arthur made it to Merlin chamber and knock on the door " Come in" come a some what cheery voice. Arthur pushed the door open. Merlin was reading one of his books. "Hey Arthur"

"Hey" said Arthur "I need to talk to you alone"

"Caleb already gone home" said Merlin putting the book down looking at Arthur wounding what he wanted to talk about.

"Right" said Arthur feeling guilty about sending his to much out the stables "About tonight... I want to say thanks"

"You already said that" said Merlin. Arthur nodded trying to think what to say "Why don't you sit down it looks like your talking to your father" said Merlin

Arthur sat down at the table with Merlin "How your arm"

"Painful" said Merlin "Stiff... feels like it's going to fall off"

"Don't be a such a baby, Merlin" said Arthur he paused "Why did you save me?"

Merlin gave him a strange look "You might be a prat, but I don't want you to be a dead prat"

Arthur almost laughed but he remained serious "What happen between us, Merlin?"

Merlin look thoughtful "We were both angry with each other for a long time" Merlin finally said "We said things we didn't mean" Arthur agreed with Merlin that was true "I guess Morgana right we are both stubborn"

"She can be just as stubborn" said Arthur "But Merlin about the druids...I...I...what I am trying to say is..."

Merlin looked down "You regret it don't you?"

Arthur nodded "Yeah... how do you know?"

"Your face that day...you wanted to please Uther didn't you?" Arthur nodded again "You're not your father Arthur"

Arthur looked at Merlin "If I could go back in time I would"

"I know" said Merlin

Arthur had a sudden idea "Merlin, I like us to be friends again like we use to be. Shall we start again from scratch "

Merlin thought for a slit second maybe this was destiny? "Yeah I like that"

Arthur smiled "great" he said "I would say lets do extra training tomorrow together but you're out of the court"

"I know" said Merlin pretending to be upset "I had to miss taking part in the tournament and everything" Arthur shook his head and laughed "How about game of cards? Best out of five"

"Al right your on" said Arthur

Gaius walked up to Uther "You wanted to see me sire?"

"How did this happen Gaius? I almost lose my only son tonight" asked Uther

Gaius paused "Some people re anger but hatred my lord, you did order the death her son to death"

Uther didn't looked like he cared "Magic is the root to all evil Gaius" said Uther

Gaius didn't say what he was thinking which was that magic won't the root of all evil it was the abuse of power you have other other people. "What did you want sire?" asked Gaius

""It Morgana and Merlin" said Gaius "Morgana is arguing about the possibility magic could be good and Merlin, well you know he has got a curious nature, he'll try to seek out information..."

"I'm sure that Morgana and Merlin will not do anything more than ask questions, my lord" said Gaius

Uther hit the table with his first "That's bad enough, if they ask question to the wrong people they might be tempted to use magic themselves"

"If this is about Merlin's ancestors using magic, Hunith and Gordon kept Merlin away from the evils of magic" said Gaius "And Merlin known's nothing of this...like you said many times before he had a curiosity of knowledge and understand" Gaius paused "And Morgana she too wants to understand... they are going to ask questions..."

"I don't want them finding anything out" order Uther "Merlin, Morgana or Arthur they mustn't know...if they ask you questions about magic do not tell them. Do I make myself clear" Uther glare at Gaius

"Yes my lord" said Gaius

"Then you might go" said Uther. Gaius gave a little bow before turning to leave "Gaius?" Gaius turn to face the king "Thank you"

"Your welcome, my lord" said Gaius walking back to his chambers. He might of promise Uther not to tell tell about magic...but Hunith got they first with Merlin asking him to keep him on the right path. Gaius open his chambers door and step inside "Since when did his life get so confusing?
