Bankotsu tore through the trees and slapped the cat demon that was waiting for him. "You shot Jakotsu!"

Chay shrugged and walked away from him, her cheek still stinging. "In case your wondering I gave you a hint to back off, you almost killed my sister. To get you both to retreat I had to shoot her as well!"

Bankotsu looked away to avoid feeling the shame if looking at the small female. She had helped save them from a trap that some humans had pulled. They had become friends of sorts and he knew how she felt for her sister. "I'm sorry Chay, I forgot that she was your sister in the heat of battle."

Chay saw him and rolled her eyes, "What would Naraku say if he saw you?" She joked seeing him glare at her, "I'm pretty sure he sent me to you so I would be beaten down more instead of growing stronger."

Bankotsu smirked then and stood up proudly, "It's the least I can do to piss that bastard off." He heard a scream then and cursed, "Mukotsu…"

Chay paled and bolted towards their camp quickly knocking Mukotsu away from the small child they had taken in the prior week. "I told you no harm was to come to the child!" She hissed as she pulled the small dagger from her side out.

Bankotsu quickly came forward between them and then punched Mukotsu with all of his strength. "I told you not to touch her. Next time I will let her do what she wants with you."

Chay glared at not being able to kill the creep but replaced her small dagger to her side before crouching down to the small girl, "Rin are you okay?"

Rin nodded but didn't look at the cat demon, "Lord Shessomaru will save me."

Chay gave a small smile and gently patted the girl's head, "I'm sure he will." She walked over to the food she had gathered the past few days and prepared some food for the child. "Eat this, you need your strength up if you want your Shessomaru to save you." She watched as the child took the food and slowly began eating. She gave a small smile and then turned towards the fire to keep an eye on the rest of the band of seven.

"You bitch! You stuck me with an arrow!"

"You'll survive Jakotsu, if you all had retreated when I dropped the tree I wouldn't have had to shoot you and my sister."

Jakotsu stuck his tongue out and then turned away childishly, "What are you going to do if Naraku forces you to kill her?" He asked softly, like his brother and Suikotsu, he had developed a soft spot for the small girl and the worry they had was if Naraku forced her to fight her precious sister.

Chay looked at him and saw his concern. She looked away from them not wanting to se their reactions when she told them, "I couldn't kill her and I couldn't give her the burden of killing me. Even if he tried to use this cursed collar it won't work. The collars lose their hold on the other if one dies, according to Kagura. So if he forced me to kill Aya I would set her free. I'm sure this Shessomaru I keep hearing about would happily do the honors."

Bankotsu felt his heart squeeze, he hoped Naraku would never order something as cruel as that, but he knew better. He sighed and looked at the slim girl and came up with his own plan. He would kill Aya for her and set her free. After all, Chay had told him about her life in her other world. Aya wouldn't be able to survive without Chay, but Chay could. All of Chay's hardships in life came from her sister. She would be sad from the loss of her sister, but she wouldn't be hurt anymore. They could be together. He would keep her safe and hidden from the cruel world they both knew it was. He watched, as she stood up uncomfortable about the silence she created and retreated back into the trees. "Alright let's get some shut eye. Tomorrow we need to start heading towards Naraku's castle, he wants to see how are bait is doing."

Chay swung down from her branch and picked up the small girl, "Come you sleep with me."

Rin shook from surprise but noticed how gently the female demon carried her into the trees. She watched as the demon landed on a thick branch and sat against the trunk then positioned her between her legs to form a barrier at the end of the branch to keep her from falling. Rin gave a small smile realizing the demon girl was taking care of her much like her silent lord. She sat up and saw the demon open her eyes to check on her. "Thank you for taking care of me Ms. Demon." She leaned forward and kissed the demon on the cheek before lying down using the demon's thigh as a pillow.

Chay touched her cheek and smiled then before gently brushing the young girl's hair out with her long claws. "Goodnight Rin."

Meanwhile….

Shessomaru walked silently looking for any hint of Naraku. He knew he was behind Rin's disappearance. "Jaken which one of Naraku's followers took her?"

"It was the feminine one, My Lord." Jaken answered quickly remembering the night they attacked. Shessomaru had left the child in his care but he was dragged into a quick fight while someone else snatched her.

Shessomaru nodded and then walked forward when he saw the campfire up ahead. He walked towards it smelling the scent of his brother. He walked into the open and saw Inuyasha fall back in shock, "Where is Naraku?"

Inuyasha glared at his brother and stood up grabbing his sword, "How the hell should I know?"

"Where is Rin?" Kagome asked when she saw Jaken but not the small girl, "Did something happen?"

Shessomaru looked down on her and turned away, "That is none of your concern." He got the scent of two more demons around the young human girl and the camp and smirked at Inuyasha, "Finally getting tired of human companions?"

Inuyasha smirked back at him, "Well I felt I needed to change some things up since you have a human following your every step."

"Watch what you say, your not in position to protect all of your humans." He caught the scent of death then and noticed Inuyasha did too. "Stay here, I have some unfinished business." He took off towards the scent of death he only hoped he would get to them before anything happened to Rin.
