Chapter 10
Luna's POV
I sat at the bar in Seventh Heaven, the barmaid providing me a beer. The annoying chatter of the other patrons irked me to no end, but Tifa gave me a good deal on the beer. There was really no reason to go anywhere else. I knew everyone who came into the bar, although this time I saw a man I didn't recognize. He had long raven dark hair, he wore a tattered blood red cloak, a golden claw on his left hand. From what I could see in the dark he had crimson colored eyes. He was sitting there with an untouched drink in front of him. He looked at me and I held his gaze. I was curious about this man to say the least, he seemed…haunted? Yes haunted. As Tifa came back I turned to her.
"Hey Tifa, whose the man in the corner?" I asked.
She looked over and smiled before turning back to me.
"His name is Vincent Valentine. He's a bit of a loner, and not very talkative. In some ways he's a lot like you Luna. I think you'd like him."
I smirked in amusement.
"You know I don't like anyone Tifa."
"Not even me?" she asked.
I gave her the smallest of smiles.
"You're an exception."
She smiled and I nodded. I was alright with Tifa, she was always very good to me. I felt someone grab my ass, so I turned and grabbed their arm. I twisted it backwards and the entire bar went quiet.
"If you ever touch me again I WILL break your arm." I hissed.
I let him go and found everyone looking at me. I felt very uncomfortable being the center of everyone's attention. I looked at Tifa again.
"I'm sorry about that. Here…"
I tipped her graciously and then left. I felt eyes on me and I looked back through the window. The Valentine man was staring at me. I stared back for a few seconds before turning away. I walked down the dark streets, thinking about going to my guy for some new ink, but someone backhanded me. I fell to the ground and then started to get dragged away. I kicked and I felt my heel collide with something. I quickly jumped up and recognized the man who'd grabbed at the bar.
"Walk away." I said in a low voice.
"Little bitch!" He snapped.
I pulled out a knife.
"Walk. Away."
He ran off and I sighed. I could feel eyes on me again, but when I turned around there was no one there.
Vincent's POV
The woman at the bar looked over at me. I locked eyes with her and took that time to study her. She had short dark red hair only a bit past her ears. She had an eyebrow piercing and several on her ears and one on her nose. I couldn't even count the tattoos she had, all of them beautiful and unique. She looked away and said something to Tifa. She looked over at me and smiled before turning back to the woman. I only barely caught her name.
Luna.
It was a beautiful name. She looked to be of Wutai descent. I saw a man get up and saunter over to her. He grabbed her backside and I narrowed my eyes. I stood up to go over but she already had his arm in a breakable position. To say I was impressed was an understatement. I sat back down and she let the man go, after promising she'd break his arm next time. I smirked and took a sip of my drink. She apologized to Tifa and tipped her graciously before leaving. I watched her go and she stopped suddenly. She looked back and stared into my eyes. Her bright grey eyes looked curious, but then she turned away. I smirked and shook my head. Not even five minutes after she left, the man who'd touched her left. I had a bad feeling so I left some gil on the counter and then followed him. My bad feeling had been right. He'd followed Luna and then back handed her. Anger surged through me and I jumped down form the roof. He started to drag her away but she kicked him hard with the heel of her boot and jumped up. I heard her tell him to walk away and he called her a bitch. I glared and started to walk forward again but she took out a knife and repeated herself. He ran off and I concealed myself in the shadows. I guessed she could sense my presence because she looked around. She shrugged and then kept walking. I continued to follow her to make certain she was safe at home. After she was, I myself went home.
Luna's POV
I was at the bar again. Then again, I was there almost every night. I had my usual beer and I saw the 'corner man' again. I had started calling him that after the first week of seeing him. Always in the same spot too.
One rainy night Tifa came over with a sweet red wine. I raised my brows.
"Tifa you know I can't afford that." I said softly.
She smiled and laughed lightly.
"Compliments of 'corner man'." she said.
My eyes went wide and I looked at him. He nodded to me and I looked back at Tifa. She nodded and so I took the drink. No one had ever sent me a drink before, let alone a handsome man like him.
"He didn't put anything in this did he?"
She shook her head.
"No, I would never do that even if he asked. And Vincent isn't like that. Besides, you should be flattered, he never sends a woman a drink. You must have caught his eye. Consider yourself lucky. Vincent's a good man Luna." she said.
If I trusted anyone, it was Tifa. I took a deep breath and walked over to him. He looked up at me with an unreadable expression.
"May I?" I asked.
He nodded and held out his hand.
"Please."
His voice was deep. Deeper than any I had heard before, it was soothing in a way.
"Valentine right?" I asked.
He nodded. I held out my hand.
"Luna Thompson." I said.
He shook my hand.
"Who hit you?"
There was still a small cut on my cheek, even though the bruise had gone away.
"Oh, a stupid waste of life." I muttered.
"I should hope you got him back."
I smirked.
"Indeed I did. So is there any particular reason you sent me this? Valentine?"
"You looked like you needed it."
I nodded and took a sip.
"Well you're right, I did. Thanks, though I hope you don't expect anything in return, I don't have any gil."
He shook his head.
"I never expected anything in return. Let alone for you to come sit with me. You don't seem to be a people person." He said.
I smiled in amusement.
"No, I'm not. People tend not to like me, though I suppose that is my own fault. I suppose I give off the unfriendly vibe. All my tattoos and piercing. My eyes usually do it too."
I was surprised at myself. I never talked this much, least of to a complete stranger.
"You might look different, but unique all the same." he said.
I smiled at him a bit.
"Thanks Valentine. That's actually the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. Which is a little sad seeing as how I am 24 years old."
He chuckled and Tifa stopped dead as she passed by. I looked at her confused.
"What?"
"Nothing at all. Are you two good with everything?"
Vincent nodded.
"Yes thank you." He said.
She smiled at me and then hurried away.
"Did I do something?" I asked him.
He shook his head but otherwise did not respond. Tifa was right, he was a man of few words. I finished the wine and then cleared my throat.
"Well thanks again. I should be getting home now."
I stood up to go but he stopped me.
"I hope to see you again sometime soon."
I smiled small and softly.
"Count on it Valentine."
He smirked and then I left again.
Vincent's POV
I watched as she walked out into the rain. She pulled up her hood and I smiled a bit.
"Whoa! Are you actually smiling?" came Tifa's shocked voice.
I nodded.
"Luna….she's different. She's special Vincent. She's a wonderful woman, and a very talented artist and singer."
I looked at her.
"Artist?"
She nodded. I looked back at the door she'd left through. I liked this woman, she was truly something special.
"You should ask her out sometime. I mean to dinner. I could open late for the two of you if you wanted."
I thought it over for a moment.
"Perhaps. Though I should give it some time. I only just met her after all."
"Great."
She walked away and I finished my wine. I paid her, said goodnight and then left. I looked up as the clouds cleared. There was a crescent moon in the sky and I thought of Luna. I heard shouting coming from an alley down the street. I ran towards it and so two men on none other than Luna. I growled and ran forward. Her forehead was bleeding but otherwise she looked fine. I grabbed one of the men and turned him around. He tried to hit me, but I threw him against the wall first. Luna kicked the other one in the face and then I went to her.
"Are you alright?" I asked.
She nodded and I looked at her forehead.
"Come with me."
"Why?"
I looked at her seriously.
"Because you have a bad cut on your forehead and Tifa's place is close."
She sighed in frustration but nodded and went back with me. I knocked on the door and Tifa came downstairs. She saw Luna and a horrified look came to her face.
"Oh my god what happened!?"
I explained what happened and she sighed.
"Luna this happens every time!"
Every time?!
"Yeah well I fight as best I can. This time I was caught off guard."
"Since when?!" she asked.
"Since….I was thinking hard about something."
"Uh-huh sure. Vincent get the first aid out of the kitchen would you?"
I nodded and went to get it.
Luna's POV
I'd been thinking about Valentine when I got jumped. I sighed as Tifa held the wet washcloth to my head.
"It's really not a big deal." I said.
"You're not leaving until I fix it." She said firmly.
I sighed but there was really no point in arguing. Valentine came back and Tifa started going through the box. I looked into crimson eyes and he looked back. I felt as though I knew what he was thinking. He seemed worried, and about me for that matter. He seemed to look past the surface and into the soul. Tifa stitched my forehead and I winced. I reached out to grab and hold onto something. When I did I squeezed hard. When I felt fingers wrap around me my eyes flew open. I'd grabbed Valentine's hand. He didn't look repulsed or uncomfortable. He held onto my hand and I felt comforted. Tifa finished and then made sure to clean it again. She left for a moment and I looked back into his eyes. He took Tifa's empty seat and then gave my hand a comforting squeeze. No words were spoken, I didn't really know what to say. I didn't even notice Tifa had come back into the room. The both of us started to move closer to each other and I could feel the warmth of his lips. I slowly closed my eyes and then the door flew open. We both jumped apart and I looked over to see a young woman whom I remembered immediately. I quickly hid my face.
"Hey Tif! Vinnie were you about to kiss a girl!?"
It was Yuffi Kisaragi, the crowned princess of Wutai. Also known as the White Rose of Wutai.
"Yuffie." he said.
"Hey Yuffie. Let me finish up and I'll be right there." she turned to Valentine. "Can you take her home? Make sure she gets there in one piece?"
He nodded and he helped me off the bar stool. Yuffie looked at me.
"Hey, don't I know you?"
I shook my head and kept walking, I didn't even realize I'd left Valentine behind. He caught up to me and gently grabbed my arm.
"Do you know Yuffie?" he asked.
I didn't answer and I kept walking. He fell silent and it started to rain again. He pulled me to him and held his cloak above me. I led him back to my apartment and he brought me to the door.
"How far do you live from here?" I asked over the pouring rain.
"I don't live in the city." he said.
I could hear him even over the rain.
"Why don't you come up. Its supposed to rain all night and you are soaking wet." I said.
He didn't answer so I pulled him inside.
"I'm on the top floor, and the elevator isn't working. We're in for a bit of walk, sorry."
He shrugged.
"Better than walking in the pouring rain." he said.
I smirked and we walked up. I closed the door behind me and then looked around.
"I should have some cloths you can wear, or at least a robe while your cloths dry. Hold on."
"It's really not…."
I held up my hand.
"You saved my life, I owe you."
I left before he could protest. I found some of my father's old T-shirts and a pair of sweatpants. I brought them out to him and told him where the bathroom was. He left and I changed into dry cloths. When he came back out I took his wet cloths and hung them up near the heater.
"Want some tea? It's really all I have and I don't drink coffee."
"Please."
I went about making it.
"Make yourself comfortable. I don't know how long it will take for your cloths to dry."
When I finished I found him sitting on my couch. I walked over and handed him the tea. I sat down on the other edge of the couch and looked out the window. There was a flash of lightning and the power went out.
"Aw shit! Hold on."
I ran around and managed to find candles. There were enough to light up the living room. I went back and took a seat.
"Sorry about all this."
He smiled a bit, but I could only just make it out.
"Tifa said you don't smile much. Or laugh or chuckle. She said you're pretty quiet and serious."
He just nodded and I looked at one of the candles.
"I'm a lot like that. It surprises me that I'm talking to you as much as I have."
I looked back and found him looking at me. I took a deep breath and drank my tea.
"Yes I know Yuffie. My mother and father are from Wutai. I was born here in Midgar. They died when I was 19 years old. They were buried in Wutai but I didn't belong there. I was never comfortable with people. I was always tormented when I was a little kid by both adults and kids. My mother had to home school me. I never had any friends and I got used to being alone. I only had my parents and then they died, so I was left alone. I guess Tifa became a friend to me without me realizing it."
He was a good listener. Another clap of thunder and I jumped slightly. He chuckled and I scowled.
"My apologies."
I just nodded.
"I'm sorry. About everything that's happened to you. No one should have to go through that."
I nodded again.
"Tifa told me some of what happened to you."
He sucked in a breath and I looked back at him.
"I think you had it worse. Losing the woman you loved to a psycho. Being locked in a damn coffin for thirty years. That must have been hell."
He just nodded. I set the mug down and moved a bit closer to him. He didn't look at me and I put my hand on his arm. He still didn't look at me.
"If you ever need to talk about it, you'll always know where to find me…Vincent." I said softly.
Now he looked at me.
Vincent's POV
I looked into Luna's in surprise.
"What?"
She smiled in amusement.
"That is your name isn't it?"
I smiled a bit and nodded. I covered her hand with mine and then looked back at her face. I remembered back at Tifa's I had almost kissed her. She was slowly leaning forward now and I started to lean with her. She closed her eyes and I raised my hand to her cheek. Slowly, her lips pressed against mine. It was the first time I had ever truly kissed a woman. I slowly pulled back, not wanting to do too much, but she leaned forward again. I pulled her a little closer to me and I wrapped my arms around her. She wound her arms around my neck and wove her fingers into my hair. She pulled slightly and I tilted my head back. I felt her lips on my neck and I bit back a moan.
"Luna…Luna stop." I managed to say.
She immediately pulled away but I kept my arms around her.
"Are you sure you want this?"
She smiled a bit and nodded. I nodded back and then leaned forward to kiss her soft lips. She licked over first my upper lip and then my lower lip. She pushed her tongue into my mouth and I opened it for her. I rang my fingers through her short hair and then rested my hand on the back of her head. She felt so delicate as I held her. She pulled back to look into my eyes. I felt her fingers stroke down my arm and then entwine our fingers. I pulled her to my chest and she gasped. She looked back up at me and I reclaimed her lips. Her free hand went to the side of my face and she fell back. Her hands played with the bottom of the shirt I wore and then slid under. I sighed and her hands went up my chest. Eventually I just took the shirt off and tossed it aside. She smiled at me and reached out to trail her hands down my chest.
Luna's POV
I sat up and trailed my fingers down his chest. Even though the candlelight was a bit dim, I could still feel the puckered flesh of his scars, I could see them.
"How did you get these?" I asked softly.
He looked down and then back into my eyes.
"I'm sorry, I know they're repulsive…."
"What sort of woman do you think I am? You don't have to tell me. I'm sorry I asked. I probably killed the mood didn't I?" I said.
He smiled softly and shook his head.
"No…" he covered my hand with his. "You're the first one who has ever seen them. I didn't know what you would think."
I smiled, a real smile.
"I don't care that you have scars. They don't repulse me."
His smile grew and he kissed me. His strong arms wrapped around me and I sighed. He kissed down my jaw and to my neck. The feeling of him kissing my neck sent jolts of pleasure straight to my core.
"Vincent….." I moaned.
"Hm? Do you like that?" he asked in a low voice.
I just nodded, unable to form the words. He kept kissing my neck and I became very wet. His kisses became more demanding and passionate and as he hovered over me I could feel how hard he was. I moaned with a smile and lightly ground my pelvis against his. A deep growl left his throat and I smiled as he pushed his hips down on mine.
"Oh!"
I arched my body so I could feel more of him against me. From what I could feel he was pretty big. I smiled to myself and he leaned back again. His cool fingers lifted my sweater and I sat up so he could take it off. I grabbed him and kissed him roughly, causing us both to fall to the floor. We looked at each other and started laughing. He had a really great laugh. I straddled him and he looked up at me.
"You've got a great laugh. I thought you should know that."
He smiled a bit and I leaned forward to kiss him. He put his hand between my shoulder blades and then pressed me to his chest. His skin was cool to touch and his body was hard. He sat up but never broke the kiss. His fingers moved to the clasp of my bra and quickly undid it. I pulled back slowly so he could take it off. I was not very big but he didn't seem to mind. He tossed the bra away and ran his hands up my sides. I stared into his eyes and he moved closer to me.
"Have you done this before?" he asked.
"Once. But he wasn't anywhere near as handsome or as big as you." I whispered.
A dark chuckle was my response and he started to suck at my neck.
"Ah! Vincent!"
I felt his tongue on my skin and I sighed his name. He moved down and bit my collar bone and I cried out in pleasure. Then I felt his breath on my nipple. My eyes flew upon and then his lips closed around it. I fisted my hand in his hair and my jaw dropped, though no sound came out. He swirled his tongue around my nipple making it harden and I tugged on his hair. He kissed down the valley between my breasts, his tongue sometimes licking my skin. He laid me on my back and kissed down to my navel. He looked at me with a questioning look and I nodded. He pulled my pants and panties down so I was completely exposed to him. He smiled and kissed my inner thigh. I sighed and tilted my head back. He kissed down my leg then back up my body to my lips. I reached down to the sweat pants he wore and slipped my hand inside. He sucked in a breath and I smirked.
"Well someone's excited."
"How can I not be? I'm looking at a gorgeous woman."
I chuckled and I sat up to push his pants down. The second I saw him I licked my lips. I reached down and started to stroke him. His eyes slowly closed and he pushed me to the ground again. He swatted my hand away and then returned the favor by stroking my opening with his finger. I moaned loudly and he continued to stroke me lightly. I bit my lower lip and he slowly pushed his finger inside me. I gasped at the feeling and he slowly began to pump his finger into me.
"V-Vincent!" I gasped.
He dropped his mouth to mine and I immediately wrapped my arms around his neck. He moaned into my mouth and he added another finger. He was stretching me, clearly trying to get me ready for what was to come. When he added the third finger I was extremely close to orgasm, so he pumped them a little harder.
"Cum for me Luna! Let go!" he growled.
I cried out his name and came hard. My legs were trembling but he wasn't done. He licked his fingers clean, all the while stroking himself and staring into my eyes. I was ready for him again in seconds. I watched him line himself up with my opening. He looked at me, as though waiting for me to stop him, but I just nodded my head. He gave me a curt nod and then began to push himself in.
Vincent's POV
Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and her mouth fell open. I went slowly, enjoying the feeling of her heat around me. I placed my hand on either side of her head and pushed until I could go no further. I kissed her lips several times, pulling back to breathe a few times. I rested my forehead against her and she brought her hands under my arms and to my shoulders.
"Move! Move Vincent!" she begged.
I smiled and slowly began to rock my pelvis with hers. She sighed and arched her body, allowing me to go deeper inside her. I groaned as she wrapped her legs around my waist. I grabbed her thigh and started to thrust harder. Her nails were digging into my skin but at that point I didn't give a damn. All I could feel was her. Her tight, moist heat and how it felts as I thrusted into her. She was moaning loudly and it was giving me great pleasure. She leaned up to kiss my shoulder before falling back down. I dropped my mouth to hers, eager for her taste. She moaned into my mouth and I curled my tongue around hers. I could feel her getting close and so was I. My throbbing member was ready to release inside her luscious body. I went faster and faster. The sound of my pelvis smacking against hers and her moans were what sent me over the edge.
"LUNA!"
I buried my face in her neck as I came. I could feel her coming around me and I collapsed on top of her. She immediately wrapped her arms around me and refused to let me move. I felt her lips on the top of my head and then her fingers running through my hair.
"That was amazing. I don't think I'll ever have sex again unless its with you." She said breathlessly.
I chuckled and managed to lift myself up a bit.
"So that means you want to see me again?"
She smiled and twirled my hair with her finger.
"I'd be severely disappointed if I didn't."
I smirked.
"Hmm…..then have dinner with me tomorrow night. Tifa said she would give us the whole bar."
Luna smiled and kissed my lips again. I took that as a yes and rolled so she was on top of me. I held her tightly to my chest and closed my eyes.
"It's still raining." She said.
"Hm."
"Well I can't very well let you go home in the rain. You'll have to stay here. At least for tonight."
I smiled and kissed her hair.
"Indeed I will."
She laughed softly before falling asleep.
