Welcome to a late chapter... Yeah I should of updated earlier but... Laziness. Anyaway, I am typing from my phone so please tell me any mistakes you see!

"Where did ya get that bruise?"

"Who did ya fight?"

"What happened?"

"When did ya get that bruise?"

I wish people at school would stop asking me these question. They didn't ask Johnny any questions when he came to school beat up. I swear if one more person asks me-

"What happened, Ponyboy?" Two-bit asked me, cutting off my train of thought.

"What are you taking about?" I said in a tone much harsher than I originally wanted to. To be honest, I wanted to punch Two-bit, lucky for him I had self control.

"That bruise on your face. Geez! Did ya lose a fight or something? Ya sure are moody!"

"I ran into a wall okay!"

"Sure..." Two-bit muttered, seeming not really to belive me, and left me alone after that. He drove us to my house, breaking at least one law, in his barely running car. An odd sight greeted us when Two-bit and I walked inside my house. Beer bottles littered the floor and the living room had a fowl stench of booze.

"Geez kid! Find another alcoholic friend? Y'all trying to replace me?" Two-bit joked.

"No. You're the only one..." I sighed. Darry wouldn't be drinking this much-at least that's what I tried to tell myself.

"Who would trash your house like this then? I know you and Darry don't drink." Two-bit said, ruffling my hair. I quickly smacked his hand away, fixing my now messed up hair.

"I don't have a clue. Perhaps it was Steve or something..."

"Steve? I guess it's possible. So kid... Promise not to lie when if I ask you a question?"

"Uh... Okay, I won't lie." I gulped.

"What really happened to your face? Don't you dare tell me you ran into a wall. You were lying and I could tell."

"I don't know what you want me to say then..."

"I want the truth. Was it someone I know personally that hit you?"

"Yeah, but-"

"Was it...Steve?"

"No. Two-bit just drop it. Not like you could travel back in time and protect me from getting hit!"

"I could talk to the person, make sure they don't hurt you again. But... If you really won't tell me... I guess I'll ask Darry then."

"Don't." He won't exactly be very honest with you either!

"Then tell me!" We heard a bedroom door open, "Oh hey Darry!" Two-bit laughed.

To be honest, Darry looked like utter-excuse my language-shit. His hair looked as if he never brushed it before in his entire life. The shirt and pants he wore were wrinkled and had unidentifiable stains on them. If I hadn't known any better I'd think he was a drunk hobo, not my older brother who doubled as my only guardian. If I thought this was bad, then I wasn't prepared for what was coming next.

Okay, was this good or bad? It is short, sorry about that guys... I had trouble focusing because my cat won't leave me alone, not that I'm complaining that she has realized me exsitance. So review! It makes me extremely happy and more likely to update much sooner!
