Author's notes: Forgive the lack of updates regarding the current chapter. It has been a difficult few months, but I'm back and working through the series with a vengeance. Hopefully I'll have this done in the summer, so keep your eyes peeled.
Enjoy!
It was said that when the light of the Silver Moon bathed File Island in its metallic glow a new power would awaken from the darkness of the night to spread forth and consume the island completely, eventually spreading out across the seas to the surrounding lands. If that was the case, then as the full moon floated above File Island, then the Sisterhood were fast approaching the time in which the prophecy would be fulfilled.
Six stood in a circle around the top of the mountain, they remained still as statues, silent as the night and illuminated by the light of the silver moon. They encircled a seventh, who had her arms held to the sky in a display of joy. It was Venusmon. She had accomplished what she had set out to achieve. The rebirth of the Digital World in a newer, purer form. This was the final piece of the puzzle. The seven sisters of light and hope stood upon the mountain. After years of planning and preparation the Digital World would be reborn under the powers of light and hope as a utopia for all escaping the darkness.
"Sisters! Call upon the power within and bring it forth to me!" Venusmon shouted to them all, and as one the others clapped their hands before holding them out in front of their bodies. Light glowed from their hands as beams started extend from their outstretched fingers and flow into Venusmon, engulfing her body and beginning the ritual.

At the bottom of the mountain, looking up at what could be described as a second sun lighting up the night sky; the remaining Digidestined looked on at the event in a mixture of fear and awe. Each of them had received the email saying that they had to arrive, and none were late for the beginning. It was a moment in which everyone could marvel at, and had it not been for the fact that their friends had been kidnapped for this to take place and that the prophecy was wrong, then they would have sat back with their Digimon and allowed it to happen. Instead all eleven of the Digidestined able to make it stood with their Digimon in their respective ultimate and mega forms. Omnimon stood patiently behind the others, flanked by the other ultimate level Digimon and Ankylomon, Auqilamon and Stingmon.
The only person not present was Jun, deciding to stay back in the real world. The possibility of having to fight her own brother wasn't something she could think about, and with Lopmon the pair waited news from Matt as soon as they had something to tell them.
"How come we're not attacking?" Ankylomon grumbled as he shifted his weight around, trying to clear some space. They were no longer in the forest, but it still didn't help the fact that there wasn't a lot of space for everyone to stand around in. Those who could such as Garudamon, Lilymon and Megakabuterimon were hovering in the air to keep themselves out of the way.
Izzy looked up from his laptop, he had been typing messages between himself and Gennai. Apparently Gennai had something that could help tip the balance. He was on his way with all haste to File Island. "We're waiting for two more people. Keep your shell on Ankylomon." Izzy responded before closing his laptop up and sliding it back into his bag. "He shouldn't be too long."
"Well I hate waiting."
"Patience Ankylomon." Cody said to his partner while walking from the large Digimon towards the others. "Still, I don't think we should have let them start. There's no telling what might happen while up there." Cody added before looking towards the others, a little nervous. His friends were up there, and whether they were okay or not remained to be seen. Everyone's gaze was drawn up to the mountain. A flash of bright light appeared above them all. It looked as if there was a second sun rising in the night. It was quickly followed with a rumble of thunder and the strike of an explosion. Rocks and parts of the mountain flew out in all directions; some crashed into the sea while others struck the island with a thud and a shower of dirt. Reacting quickly, the Digimon moved to intercept the boulders that came close to crushing the Digidestined underneath the rocks. Omnimon and Stingmon slashed through the rocks with ease, while Megakabuterimon, Garudamon, Aquilamon and Lilymon shot them to pieces.
"Something tells me it's started already." Matt breathed as he turned to the others, clenching his fists. "We can't wait for Gennai any longer, we need to get up there." There were nods of agreement from the others, and with that in mind those Digimon that could fly took to the skies, some carrying those who couldn't fly on their own.

The burst of light that flashed into the sky was revealed to be the ritual to bring peace to the Digital World to go horribly wrong. Something had happened, something that both Venusmon and Dianemon had overlooked when planning. The powers that they had channelled were growing out of control in a wild and dangerous manner. Lashes of energy whipped out left and right and cut through the dirt and earth. Already it had cost the lives of two of the Digimon present. Rosemon and Lotusmon had been hit. It was with their deaths that the nature of the energy was revealed. Where they had hoped that the power it contained would help those that had gathered, instead it was destroying them.
"No! No this was not supposed to happen! Venusmon screamed from the centre of the circle as the energy created started to build up and channel through her body. It slowly started to change her, corrupt her.
T.K, or the girl that they had transformed T.K into heard this all as she tried to duck down. When the ritual started to go awry and the lashes of energy struck, they had to jump away from the circle to avoid being struck. The blonde looked in every direction that she could think of while she ran. Eventually she had slid behind a large set of rocks while trying to concentrate. She wanted to run but found the white gown that they had given her difficult to run in. If T.K was going to be a woman for much longer, then she would need to learn how to move while wearing it. Taking a look over the boulders, T.K saw something that was truly horrifying. Venusmon was collecting the power towards her, and she was changing. Slowly but surely she was changing. There was another bright flash and then Venusmon was gone, there was no sight of her or the energy that had been growing out of control around them all. In that moment of silence, T.K slowly got up and she looked around at the mountain that moments ago was in utter chaos.
"T.K!" the voice broke through the silence and T.K looked to the other side of the mountain and saw Kari being cornered by Witchmon.
"Kari! Hold on!" T.K leapt from the boulder and charged across the floor, diving every way before Witchmon turned her attention from Kari. The Digimon had been close to swinging her broom around like a bat and knocking Kari from the mountain herself.
"Sorry blonde but this is not your fight!" Witchmon snarled before casting her hand up, palm open and launching a spray of cold water. It hit T.K with force and pushed the girl back across the mountain before she fell off the ledge.
"T.K!" Kari screamed the name out before trying to scramble free.
"She's gone." Witchmon stated, turning her attention back to Kari. There was a malicious grin across her face as she looked towards the brunette before reaching down and gripping her, hauling her body up from the ground with a single hand. "Now tell me something, you and the blonde were so important to this... fiasco. Why didn't it work?" Witchmon asked. Before she could get an answer though, a flash of light struck her from behind. With a snarl she turned to face whoever had struck her, though her face twisted into an image of apprehension a she realised what she was seeing.
"Get away from her Witchmon!" T.K shouted, though she was different. Taking on a similar appearance to Angemon; six white wings had grown from her back and her eyes were covered in a silver mask. In one hand she carried Angemon's signature staff while the other was encased in a gauntlet. She wasn't alone though. Behind her the other members of the Digidestined stood ready and waiting. Their Digimon spread out in an all-encompassing ring around the mountain.
"You heard her, get away from my sister!" Tai shouted as he jumped from Omnimon and landed onto the mountain.
Not bothering to answer, Witchmon instead let out a snarl before she raised her hand and let out with another attack. The same water attack that she had used on T.K but only this time it formed a missile made from pure ice. It lunged for her hand, but Tai dived out of the way.
"Thunder Ball!" The attack came from behind Witchmon, a bright ball of energy that shattered the ice missile on contact. Witchmon turned to the attacker, another snarl forming on her face that quickly turned into a grin when she saw who it was.
"Wizardmon."
"I heard you were looking for me." The wizard Digimon stated in a calm voice while aiming his staff at Witchmon. "They told you to leave the girl alone," Wizardmon breathed calmly before looking up at the Digimon. "Now why don't you leave my friend alone?"
"I should thank you Wizardmon, you saved me a world of hassle. Now I don't have to hunt you down and kill you." Witchmon stated before walking away from Kari and over towards the Digimon. She floated into the sky, sitting upon her broomstick and looking towards Wizardmon with a large grin on her face. "It's a shame Venusmon isn't here. She was going to give me the power to defeat you." The Digimon started to cackle after that before flying through the air towards Wizardmon, starting their duel.

While the two Digimon fought above, T.K was rushing over to Kari with Tai and the others following behind them. "Kari, are you all right?" T.K asked as she helped Kari onto her feet. The girl's eyes were still focussed on watching Wizardmon fight, and the fact that she had returned to them after all the years apart. "Kari?"
"Oh… sorry I'm okay." Kari eventually responded as she tore her eyes away from the spectacle above them. Flashes of light started to appear as the two Digimon attacked one another. It was only when Kari felt a cold hand against her shoulder that she noticed T.K's appearance, and the wings that her friend now had. "Care to explain?" she asked T.K, and the other simply blushed at the comment before shrugging her shoulders.
"I honestly couldn't say." T.K responded before turning towards the others. They were starting to gather around and none of them could believe that the boy they knew was standing before them. Rolling her eyes, T.K shook her head and chuckled. "Okay, who has a question?"
Any questions that might have been on the minds of the others were swiftly forgotten when a sphere of light and dark energy emerged above their heads, colliding with the force of a thunderclap. The group had been so engrossed with the transformation that they had forgotten about the duel between the two sorcerers above them. Bolts of energy collided with one another. Shot from one side to another the scene was an odd ballet of offensive spells, counter spells, defensive spells and barriers. The sky was lit up, bright colours flashed like fireworks. It would have been a wondrous spectacle to behold, were it not for the fact that a friend of the group was fighting to save them.
"We should be up there." Rai said from the back of the group, which received a few nods of agreement from Cody Yolei and Matt, though footsteps crunched through the dirt. Dianamon was walking towards them, her armour battered and scarred. The dual bladed weapon she carried was strapped across her back, and in her arms she carried the prone form of Hana.
"If you interrupt their fight then it will only cause more harm than good." Dianamon stated as she gently laid the prone form of Hana on the ground before them. She looked unharmed, other than for a few bumps and bruises on her cheek and arms Hana looked fine. Dianamon looked towards the others and held her hands up in a placatory gesture before they had a chance to accuse her of harming their friend.
Joe walked through the group and checked the girl. Hana had a steady pulse which was a good sign.
"I did not hurt her. I merely stunned her."
"Why?" Joe asked, looking up towards the taller Digimon. The shy and timid Joe that had first stepped foot on File Island was long gone. "What did she do to you?"
"Other than attack me? Your friend was still under the mind control of Witchmon's conversion beam. Nine times out of ten a stun should shake a person out of it." Dianamon explained, though got some odd looks from the others before she sighed and shook her head. "I knocked her on the head, though I'm not proud of it."
That seemed to please the others, if only for a moment. The flashes of lights continued above them, and their attention was turned back towards the duel above them. It was a furious display of power and strength combined into the simple question of who will fall first. They looked evenly matched. Both were champion level Digimon and yet neither were relenting in their barrages. It was just a matter of time though.
"Why shouldn't we help them?" Malise asked as she looked to the others.
"Because they've been waiting for this opportunity for a long time." Kari spoke, though there was a slight drawl to her voice. Gatomon was talking through Kari, their shared body and friendship made it easier for the Digimon to speak with Kari's voice. "Wizardmon and Witchmon are essentially two sides of the same coin. They're both rivals and have been rivals since they encountered one another. It's basically just a matter of pride." She explained before letting out a soft moan, putting a gloved hand to her forehead.
"Are you all right Kari?" T.K asked as she supported the other.
"I'm… I'm fine. Just not used to sharing my body with Gatomon." Kari responded with a slight chuckle.

The duel had been raging for minutes, and yet for both Wizardmon and Witchmon it felt like an eternity. In a sense it was. The pair had been waiting for this opportunity for some time. They had been searching for one another and it all boiled down to the simple reason that Witchmon wanted to be the best. Wizardmon had always preferred the solitary life and would have preferred to avoid confrontation, but he was being attacked and there was no chance that he could let such a thing take place without defending himself.
The wizard moved through the skies above File Island, leading Witchmon away from the others as he continued to fire at her. His attacks continued to miss, but he wasn't aiming for her. "This is getting annoying Witchmon. Why do you insist on this petty feud?"
"Because it is my destiny to defeat you!" Witchmon fired a spear of ice towards the other Digimon, but that was destroyed in a display of power that shattered the missile into microscopic pieces. He returned the attack with multiple beams of light that flew towards Witchmon, hitting her in the chest and almost knocking her from the broom she was riding on. "You will not win!"
"Yes I will." Wizardmon turned towards the Digimon. He had stopped running, having lead the other Digimon far enough from the island to not cause any harm as he prepared his final attack. This had to end. "And I have won Witchmon." He said quietly before he pointed his staff towards Witchmon, the orb at the end started to glow with power and energy started to shine. Power crackled off the light, the intensity of the power grew. This was Wizardmon's final attack, and it would finish this.
"I'm sorry Witchmon, but this has to end." He whispered, as much to himself as to the other Digimon. "Magical Game, final blast!" the orb of energy launched itself from the staff, flying towards Witchmon who had tried to prepare a spell to counter the attack, but in the end she could do nothing but watch as the attack flew through the air.
For a moment, Witchmon saw the futility of what she had been doing. She had been chasing a joke, an idiotic ideal that she was somehow better than Wizardmon and yet she had been wrong. As the other Digimon had said, this was nothing more than a petty feud. Witchmon couldn't even remember how it had begun.
If she had been able to, Witchmon would have laughed at it all. She would have laughed up until the point in which the attack hit her. She hadn't been able to laugh though, as soon as she was engulfed by the attack, Witchmon was deleted. Her data scattered to the four winds of the Digital World to be reborn again.
Taking deep breaths; Wizardmon let out a sigh. He had tried to talk Witchmon out of it during the fight, but it had been of little use. The Digimon was set on her ways, nothing was going to change that. Still, he had one last task to do that night, and they were waiting.

"It's good to see you again Kari." Witchmon said to the girl as they embraced in a hug. "Gennai informs me you have a slight problem?"
"She's not the only one." Hana stated from the group, standing next to T.K who was still showing her wings. While she had been able to access the power of Angemon from within herself, she had no way of knowing how to release the energy and loose the wings.
Hearing the comment, Wizardmon turned to the other two girls and gave a nod. "The Conversion beam spell was strong, but I should be able to break it and return you to your normal selves." Wizardmon explained, though he would have to rest first, they could all see it. The Digimon was exhausted from his duel with Witchmon. While it had been a spectacular sight to see, all those present could see that it had taken up most of his strength.
"Well don't rush on my behalf… though if you have any information on how to loose these, then I'd love to hear it." T.K commented, pointing her thumb at the angelic wings she was sporting with her current attire.
"You could also explain why it is that T.K wasn't hypnotised into carrying out the orders while Hana was." Said Matt as he looked towards Wizardmon, though Dianamon stepped up to answer the question.
"We didn't know how well the conversion beam worked on Hana, so it was decided that when completing the transformation we would brainwash her." The larger Digimon explained, the regret clear in her voice. "Whereas with T.K, it was the choice of do as we say or we'll delete Hana's data."
"I wasn't about to let anyone harm a good friend." T.K stated as Kari stepped closer to the blonde, taking her hand and holding it tightly.
"Such touching words!" A feminine voice could be heard through the air. Familiar, and yet unwelcomed at the same time. "Such a pity that I will have to destroy you all!" The words ended with the sound of cackling laughter that set everyone on edge. Dianamon gripped her weapon again, and the other Digimon prepared themselves for whatever was coming.
A sphere of dark energy manifested itself above them. Forks of power and energy danced around its surface before dissipating. The energy swirled. Its colours changing between black and purple and crashed together like ripples in a pond. Lightning started to crackle against the sphere again. This time it was more intense, more explosive and more powerful. The energy danced across the surface before the sphere itself exploded in shards of glass that scattered and fell to the ground. They were harmless to the touch, their edges smooth as some of the shards came into contact with skin, but left no mark.
When the group got over the shock of what they had just saw, they looked above them and where the sphere had once been, stood a Digimon with raven black hair. She wore an onyx one piece suit that covered her chest and legs. Purple robes covered her arms and one hand was covered by a golden gauntlet with a single nail extended and sharpened at its point. Wings stretched out from her back and her hair was adorned with a gilded headdress. The Digimon looked upon the group below. Her face had a calm but devious smile, and her eyes narrowed on T.K, Kari and Dianamon before she turned her gaze left and right, observing the others.
"Such a display of compassion, love and friendship between such a pitiful species." She spoke again, the last words were underlined with the feeling of disgust and contempt. "I had expected more from you Dianamon. Your sisters died and yet you side with these humans."
"Who is that?" Yolei asked, slightly scared of what they were seeing. They tried to be strong and ready for anything, but without knowledge of the being above them, they couldn't be certain of what to do. In the end, it was Dianamon that answered, her gauntleted fists clenching her weapon tightly.
"Lilithmon."
