The expecting couple just found out that they're having a baby girl.
Juliet can't stop smiling as they browse the shelves at their local supermarket for celebratory junk food.
Of course, Juliet insists on throwing a few healthier choices into their buggy as well, all R picks up is a box of Twinkies.
"What? A mans gotta have his yellowy goodness." He says smirking.
"Just keep your Twinkies away from me, the smell makes me sick." Juliet says stroking her stomach with one hand.
"Babe, meet me in the frozen foods nature calls and I don't have call waiting.." R says walking quickly to the restroom.
Juliet laughs watching him almost run to the bathroom.
"That's what you get for stealing my Slurpie jerk." She mutters smiling.
She continues browsing down the isles, she's stopped in her tracks when she sees her father looking at the freezer meals.
She smiles to herself knowing he can't cook, she was always the one making dinner since her mother died.
"Daddy?" She says walking up to him quietly.
"Go away." He mutters not looking up from his banquet meal.
"Dad, come on, I'm still your daughter."
"Not as long as that thing is inside of you." He says looking up at her fire in his eyes.
Juliet recoils back and instinctively puts her hands on her stomach, she grits out, "this thing is your grand-daughter."
"No, it's not." He says then he almost looks sad, "Juliet I'll pay for the abortion it might be a little late, but I could pull some-"
It's Juliet's turn to feel disgusted, she pulls further away shaking with anger, "Never you stay away from me and my baby, I'm happy and I'm taken care of."
Before her supposed father can get anymore words in, Juliet turns and walks away tears streaming down her face.
She bumps into R outside of the aisle a sob escapes from her.
"Hey, what's wrong, love your shaking." R says concern lacing his voice.
"I -lets just leave please." Julie says looking young, tears streaking her face.
R can tell something is bothering her, he just hopes it's hormones.
"Sure." He says wrapping his arm over her shoulder and leading her to the car limping slightly.
He stops at the car, "Why don't I drive?"
Juliet looks up at him through tears and hands him the keys, "What about your leg?"
"I have two of them." he opens the door and makes sure she is okay then goes around to the driver's side.
"Okay, so what happened?" he asks gently.
"I ran into my dad." she says not looking up from her lap fresh tears streaming down her face.
"And?" He inquires trying to swallow his anger.
"I told him I was having a girl, he rejected me and then suggested an abortion."
The car is dead silent, next thing Juliet knows the car door is slamming.
She jumps out of the car and follows on his heels, unsuccessfully trying to grab his wrist.
R doesn't slow down until he finds who he's looking for, Juliet manages to grabs his wrist and restrain him.
"You bastard!" R yells fire in his voice, "Your daughter tells you she's having a little girl and you tell her to kill it!"
By this time two employees have caught wind of the situation, they restrain R.
Her dad is completely quite watching with content as the two employees lead R whose resisting as much as he can out of the store.
When out in the parking lot, they let him go.
"Do not return to our store." One of them says.
R kicks the car with all the anger welling up inside of him, Juliet jumps and starts crying harder.
He walks over and hugs her feeling guilty, "I'm sorry. Shh I'm sorry."
"It's… Okay… I understand." Juliet chokes out into his chest between sobs.
"Let's go home." R says his voice void of emotion then he starts helping his girlfriend into the car.
