I don't own Naruto. I only wrote the fan fiction! If some of the characters seem a little OC-ish then I'm sorry - I haven't been keeping up with the episodes so don't bug me, and I might have changed a couple things - that is another thing NOT to bug me about! There may also be other characters in this story that ARE OC so don't start telling me that I added characters...please! (Italic - thoughts, "..." is speech, and ~~ is flashback)
At the Hospital - Orochimaru's True Appearance
The four arrived at the hospital moments after they left Kakashi's house.
Naruto was the first to walk up the desk. "We're here to see Sasuke Uchiha. Is he up yet?"
"One moment please sir." The woman at the desk said before picking up the desk phone and dialed a number. "Yes Hi Dr. Tsunade? There are some people waiting to see Sasuke. Is he awake?"
There was a pause as the woman waited for an answer. "Oh alright I'll send them in." She said with a smile. The woman hung up the phone. "You guys can head down to Sasuke's room."
Kakashi nodded. "Thank you."
"Any time."
The four walked down the hall to Sasuke's room. Once they got to the gennin's room Tsunade walked out and greeted them. "Hey guys. So you finally decided to come and see him did ya?"
Naruto lifted an eye brow. "What're ya talkin' about Grandma Tsunade?"
"Sasuke's been asking if I've seen either you or your other team mates lately, but when I say no he looks disappointed."
Naruto looked at the floor. "Oh..."
Sakura looked to the floor also, but she was silent; unable to utter a word.
"Well don't wait for my say so...go ahead." Tsunade gestured to the door. "If there's a problem just come get me one of you okay?" The woman said as she walked away.
"You got it." Kakashi said before walking into the young Uchiha's room to see the other three sitting at Sasuke's bedside.
Sasuke's attention turned to the man in the doorway. "So you decided to keep your promise huh?"
The man nodded and walked over to the boy's bed and sat beside it.
"Sorry we couldn't come and see you earlier Sasuke...we had no idea you'd get this hurt..." Naruto said with his head down.
Sasuke chuckled slightly. "Hey c'mon no need for apologizing Naruto...it's cool."
The boy looked up at his friend. "Okay."
"We brought something for you Sasuke." Sakura said rifling through her backpack.
"Hm? You didn't have to get me anything..."
"Well I thought I get you something nice anyway so here..." Sakura said pulling a medium sized box out of her bag.
"What's in it?"
"Open it and fin out for yourself." She said with a smile.
"Is it from just you?"
"No. All three of us pitched in for it." Naruto said.
Sasuke didn't need anymore details on this box so he opened it to see that there was necklace that had a seven pendant, an Uchiha clan symbol, an Uzumaki clan symbol, a Haruno clan symbol, and a Hatake clan symbol on it.
Kakashi took the necklace and put around Sasuke's neck. "There."
Sasuke looked down at the dangling pendants and smiled. "Thanks guys."
"You're welcome." Sakura said with a smile.
"No problem." Naruto said; a goofy smile had found its way to his lips.
"Just try to get well soon." Kakashi said will a warm smile.
"We'll sensei." Sasuke said; returning the warm smile.
"Hey Naruto, Sakura, Seri?"
"Yes Kakashi-sensei?" The three said in unison.
"Could you possibly give us a moment alone please?"
Seri nodded; followed by the three's reply. "Sure." They said. They left the room and shut the door to give their sensei and team mate some privacy.
Kakashi sighed. "You wanna know something?"
"What?"
"Every time I looked at your sister...I saw you...and you've been all can think about...even though you've only spent at least one night here. I just wish you could come home...when I know you can't."
Sasuke placed a hand on the side of the jounin's face and smiled. "I know you want me home, but just look around you..." He stopped himself from what he was about to say; only to just say it anyway. "All of these people just do what they think is right...when you and I both know that the only one who knows me best...is you...you know me better than anyone...you helped me open up...and I thank you for that... but don't punish yourself for something you didn't even do..."
Kakashi looked into the gennin's sapphire orbs. "You need to get back on your feet soon."
"I know."
There was a knock on the door. "Sensei we're gonna go see if there are any missions we can handle okay?" A girl's voice said; it sounded like Seri's voice.
"Alright don't do anything-" Kakashi started before Sakura cut him off.
"Out of our league we know sensei." She said.
A sly smirk crawled onto the jounin's face. "Now that we're completely alone..." He whispered before pressing his lips against Sasuke's.
Sasuke pulled away; hearing foot steps.
"What?"
"Someone's outside the door."
"Who cares?"
"I don't you to get in trouble."
"I won't get in trouble."
"You will if someone catches you kissing me."
Kakashi sighed again. "You're just lucky I like you."
"Heh. Yeah okay."
"Come to think of it...I'm surprised you don't have a shirt on to hide those abs from me..."
"I can't..."
"Why not?"
Sasuke pointed to the bandages around his upper torso.
"Oh...right...that..."
"Yeah."
Kakashi examined the Uchiha's body; noticing the bandages are clean even before being changed out.
"What?"
"You don't seem to be bleeding anymore..."
"Yeah I know."
"So why not take them off?"
"I have stitches for now and I don't want you looking at them..." Sasuke said blushing.
"Why not?"
"They kinda look gross."
"Oh please..."
"I'm serious...they do kinda look gross."
There was a knock on the door.
Sasuke looked at Kakashi.
The jounin nodded.
"Who is it?"
"You have another visitor Mr. Sasuke." The nurse said from behind the closed door.
"Who's the visitor?"
"Shall I send him in?"
Sasuke didn't know how to reply. "She never answered my question. How am I supposed to know who it is?"
"Mr. Sasuke? Shall I send him in?"
The gennin slightly panicked.
Kakashi saw his heart rate increase. "Sasuke calm down...it's alright. Just say yes..."
Sasuke nodded. "Sure...he can come in...I guess."
"Alright. He's coming in now."
Sasuke gulped in attempt to calm down, but he had a bad feeling about who was visiting him now.
A burst of purple smoke and a build up of snakes appeared in the center of the room.
Sasuke's heart rate began to speed up again.
"Sasuke...calm down...please. There's not much you can do right now." Kakashi whispered.
"I'm trying, but I just can't...I'm sorry..." The boy whispered back.
The man chuckled. "What's wrong? You don't look so happy to see me Sasuke."
"O-Orochimaru..."
"Hello Sasuke...Kakashi...long time-no-see..."
"Like-wise..." The jounin replied.
"I'm guessing you know why I'm here then?"
"Yes...I do..."
"Oh good. Hand him over then."
"He's hooked up to all of these machines! Can't you tell he's in a bad condition to do anything?!"
"Yes I can, but that's all change once I get him to my hideout."
"He's not going anywhere!"
"Why don't we let him decide then?"
"Heh...fine..." Kakashi said looking to Sasuke.
Sasuke kind of backed up in his bed (sort of in fear). "I-I'm not going anywhere with you..."
"Oh that's a shame. Ya know not everyone gets what they want, but...I always get what I want."
Sasuke gulped.
"You should calm down Sasuke...we don't want anyone to be alerted now would we?"
Sasuke couldn't utter a word.
Kakashi had been standing beside the gennin's bed in case Orochimaru decided to make a move. "I need to alert someone, but how will I get a clone out of the room with out him noticing?" Kakashi thought as he looked around the room every now and again; his eyes returning to the man in front of him. Finally he decided to send a clone out. It had appeared behind the door and ran down the hall to the main lobby where Tsunade was talking to the woman at the desk. "We've got a problem!"
Tsunade's head snapped in the clone's direction. "What kind of problem?"
"Orochimaru is in his room!"
"And you left him ALONE?!" She said running towards Sasuke's room.
"No I'm a clone! The real Kakashi's in there!" The clone said pointing at the door.
They stopped for a moment, but heard nothing.
Tsunade looked at Kakashi's clone. "You're sure he's in there?"
"Positive..."
The woman opened the door to see that Orochimaru was still standing there; he hadn't moved an inch.
"Well, well, well if it isn't Tsunade; delighted to see you again. I've come for the Uchiha and I'm not leaving without him."
"Oh you'll leave without him...one way...or another..." She said cracking her knuckles.
"Would you really kill off an old friend?"
"Old friend?! You WERE back then, but not anymore after you left the village!"
Kakashi's clone disappeared. "I'm going to be dead for this..." He thought before shutting of the heart monitor. He unplugged everything from his student and made sure he wouldn't hurt him before he picked him up.
Tsunade's eyes widened. "What the hell do you think you're doing?! He can't leave!"
"It's kinda too late for that Tsunade! Send me the bill at a later time...I'll leave him to you..." The jounin said before he disappeared.
"Ugh...damn you Kakashi..." Tsunade thought before the fight between her and Orochimaru began.
Kakashi appeared at his house; inside and safe. He walked over to the couch and put Sasuke down.
Sasuke watched as his sensei walked down the hall to his room. He came back with a scroll. "What's that?"
"It's a scroll that will keep Orochimaru away from here."
"How is that even possible?"
"Just you watch." Kakashi said as he walked over to the door; making a snake-like figure appear on the floor.
"A snake?"
"It may look like it won't to anything, but that snake will actually keep Orochimaru from finding this house until you're fully healed."
"And how long will that take?"
"Only time will tell."
"Well what do I do till then?"
"You can stay at home and recover."
"What about Seri, Naruto, and Sakura?"
"I'll go talk to them as soon as they get back okay?"
Sasuke nodded. He stopped for a moment. "Wait..."
"What?"
"If I can't leave the house...then what CAN I do all day?"
