The Game
Chapter 10
Clary
After patching Daemon up in the boy's bathroom, I went through my next few classes in a blur.
After school ended, I found myself sitting on my car, waiting on Simon and Colin. Simon was nowhere to be found and Colin's school ended a few minutes after our let out.
My eyes kept wandering to my phone, seeing if Simon would text me or if I had missed any of his texts or calls.
"Clary!" I looked up to see Colin running towards me with his arms wide open. His big bright smile was enough for me to smile back at him, and run towards him with my arms wide open too.
When he reached me, I caught him as he jumped up and I spun him around. When I put him back on the ground, the world was spinning so I closed my eyes and took in a long breath.
Smiling at him, I lead him to the car, and told him to wait while I went to find Simon.
Simon POV
"You will do this. You have no choice,"Sebastian said, as he shoved me against the wall. Don't do it Simon, don't do it. No one can know. Just take it.
I crumpled against the wall, and just took it. I didn't have to go through this, but if I didn't my mother would be in danger and I just couldn't do that to her.
But I didn't have to go to the places Sebastian wanted me to go. I was much more than that.
"I won't do it anymore! People are starting to notice! Clary is starting to notice, and if you keep doing this...she's going to kick your ass and I'm going to smile through it all," I said, venom laced through my words.
Sebastian's eyes widened and he threw a punch to my ribs that would probably leave a bruise next to the one I had gotten last night.
"Nerd boy has grown some balls throughout the night hasn't he?" Sebastians goons laughed, and I narrowed my eyes picturing my first meeting each of their faces, but that couldn't happen. At least not right now, I thought to myself.
Wincing, as I stood up, I glared at Sebastian. He'd only get two more out of me and after that, I was done.
If he couldn't deal with that then all bets were off, I'd have to do it.
"Simon?" Clary's voice carried from around the corner, she was probably going to turn and see me.
"You get two more out of me, and if you aren't happy with that, then you'll have to just find someone else," I said. Sebastian narrowed his eyes and his goons laughed.
"Is that your girlfriend? It'd be a shamed if something were to happen to her. Something will indeed if you don't keep up your end of the bargain. Until next time Lewis" Sebastian turned to walk away with his goons, and he disappeared just as Clary found me lying on the ground against the wall.
She rushed towards me. And I winced as she helped me up.
"Simon what the fuck happened to you! No more brushing me off," she demanded. Goddamn she was so beautiful. It almost hurt me to look at her.
How I could be fated to be friends with someone as caring and as perfect as her, I had no idea.
However, I couldn't tell her. She'd hate me forever, and that was something I couldn't even care to think about right now.
"I was trying to open the door and it wouldn't budge so I shoved my shoulder into it, and my glasses flew off my face. I couldn't see so I crawled on the floor and found them here. Sorry for making you wait, really nothing's wrong. Calm down." She examined my face and stared into my eyes, making me gasp.
Her eyes, you could get lost in them. I've met pretty girls like Clary, that could crush your heart and dance over the pieces, with no regrets.
The worry never left her face, but she smiled and broke eye contact.
"I swear sometimes you're weaker than I am," She said, smiling, and leading the way to her car. Colin sat in the backseat, and we talked about anything and everything until she dropped me off at my house.
Seeing her and Colin smile and hearing them laugh, spread warmth through my body, and I recognized it was pure happiness. I couldn't hurt her, she could never find out. No one could.
Woah! What's going on with Simon. What does Sebastian want with him? What is this not going back to "it" Simon's talking about? Want to know? 14 Reviews and you'll get the next installment by tomorrow, just before Christmas! If not, the next update won't be until after New Year's and my break will be nearly over D: So review, I dare you.
