Where does he think you are tonight, does he know your nasty side? I love that song. On a side note, I really miss writing this story. And I have a new follower, so THANK YOU FOLLOWER, this chapter is inspired by you! ;]
Taichi
We had spent an undetermined amount of time trying to figure out how the hell to get out of this room. We had tried everything! From begging to the whispered voice on the other side of the wall (not that Yamato would beg, he was too good for that), to trailing hands along the walls and floor for hidden notches. Yamato had even called upon the elements. And now Yamato is sitting back on the bed we had been sharing, (which made heat rise in my cheeks every time I thought about it) staring at the wall.
"Ugh!" He groans suddenly, startling the rest of us. His brother glares at him.
"Ass," The other boy mutters.
"What exactly is your name?" Kari asks, suddenly. Yamato looks over at her, but she was talking to the other one.
"Takeru. Haven't we had this discussion a few times already?" He asks. Even though we had, I still wasn't sure what his name was, either.
"And you're still Yamato?" I ask the other blonde. Yamato's head snaps towards me so fast, and his eyes are so dark that I am instantly scared for my life. And then I feel the release of energy.
"No!" I cry, at the same time the ground shifts and lashes out at Yamato. Yamato gets pinned against the opposite wall my a tree branch. And he doesn't struggle.
"I'm sorry!" I tell Yamato, trying to relax enough for the magic flow to stop. Yamato doesn't respond, but the tree suddenly vanishes, and Yamato drops to his feet. He shakes his head at me.
"You need to work on that." He informs me. For some reason, this makes me angry. I throw myself against the wall to pout, and suddenly I'm flipped backwards. I stare around the hallway with wide eyes. Apparently, I found the door.
"Taichi!?" I hear Kari call me.
"I'm okay!" I answer back, turning to look at the wall. I put pressure on the wall, and it flips me again, and I'm back with other three. Takeru seems dazed.
"Apparently you're not completely useless." Yamato says, walking towards me. I flinch, wondering if he's going to maybe hit me for attacking him by accident, but he doesn't. He leans against the wall, and we're both in the hallway. Me sitting, and him standing.
"Get up," Yamato says, offering me his hand. I look at it for a second, then take his hand, which sends a tingle up my spine. Yamato helps me to my feet. We move away from the hidden door just as Takeru and Kari flip over. I want to ask Yamato if he's going to attack me later on for accidentally pinning him with a tree, but decide it can wait.
Yamato leads the way, Takeru falls into step behind him right after. Kari and I follow after him.
"Do you know where we're going?" She asks Yamato.
"Angel and Kasolite, obviously." Yamato says. Kari glares at him.
"And how do you plan on getting them?" Takeru asks. Yamato opens his mouth, and I can feel the nasty reply, but Takeru keeps talking. "I mean, I know you can find Angel, but what if they're caged? Surrounded by Faeries? Do you plan on attacking them?"
Yamato stops, and Takeru smashes into him. "I'll deal with that when it comes up." He says. Takeru shakes his head.
"You can't just charge into this stuff, Yamato." Takeru says patiently.
"Sure I can." Yamato says, glancing around the corner. Apparently, the way is clear, because he abandons the corner he'd been using for shelter, and walks away from us. Kari, Takeru and I scramble to follow him. I notice the light from outside before Kari and Takeru. Yamato had apparently been heading that way the entire time. As it grows, I get more and more excited.
"Is that outside?" Kari asks.
"Yeah, I think so." Yamato answers. He doesn't sound nervous. Or even unsure. He just sounds kind of..off. We pass through the low tunnel, and Yamato visibly relaxes. Fresh air hits me, and take a couple of deep breathes. I didn't realize the air had been so...
"I didn't know air could go stale." Takeru says, also taking in big gulps of fresh air.
"We were underground." Yamato points out.
"We were?" I ask, confused. I turn to look behind me, and see a huge tree. I look up, but can't see the tops.
"How else do you think you got a branch to attack me?" He asks, raising an eyebrow. I shrug.
"I thought you were going to kill me," I mutter. Yamato doesn't bother answering.
"You can only use magic when you're scared?" Takeru asks, tilting his head like a confused puppy.
"Yeah.." I admit. "I was working on it before..well.."
"Before you killed your parents?" Yamato supplies. I can actually feel the blood drop out of my face.
Yamato
"Stop it." I freeze, causing Hikari, and in turn Takeru, to crash into me. I wait for the voice to come again. It doesn't.
"Yamato?" Takeru asks me. It had been in my head. The same way Angel's voice came to me. Only this had been Nikki's. So, I do what anyone who thought they were going crazy would do. Ignore it. I continue on my march to my Angel. I can feel her growing closer, and I want to hide in her fur.
I don't really see anything. I know we are safe, I know where Taichi, Hikari and Takeru are. And Angel is getting closer with every step.
At some point, Taichi moves up beside me, having finally locked into the fact that Kasolite and Angel should be right around the corner. Unless they're also underground. I doubt it. I hope. Taichi apparently thinks the same thing.
"Hey, if we were underground, why wouldn't they be?" He asks, lowly.
"I just know." I answer. Or should I say lie? We round the last little bend, and sure enough, Angel and Kasolite are both there. Caged. Pacing. They both looked pissed.
"Hey! You guys should-!" Someone starts shouting at us. Then they're falling, unconscious. I glance over at Takeru, who gives me a shy grin.
"Well, that could have been helpful, you know, forever ago. Like..before Ni-" My lips clamp shut on her name, and I leave the sentence unfinished. Instead, I sprint the last few feet to Angel. I can hear Taichi and Takeru talking behind me about what Takeru had just done. I inspect the lock, which has no keyhole. Getting frustrated, I simply paw at it, and it turns white, and then vanishes.
"Stupid locks." I mutter has I force the bars open. Angel crashes into me, sending me to the ground, and by Taichi's shout of happiness, Kasolite has done the same. In her excitement, Angel actually licks me, and I can't be bothered to get angry enough to care. After a few minutes, she lets me up. Takeru and Hikaru are watching Taichi get mauled by his lion. Angel sits beside me, and I hide my face into her side.
"You have to go, get up! Go now!" Angel and I both leap to our feet, startling the other members of our party.
"What's wrong?" Taichi asks. Angel is pacing.
"We must go, now." Angel tells them. She had heard Nikki too. I feel a pull off to my left, and without thinking about it, I follow it. I break into a run. The feeling of go, go, go. Faster, faster, faster doesn't stop until I do. I blindly follow the pull, which I can't explain. I can see the outside world when Juliet suddenly appears in front of me. I pull up short, and nearly fall. Taichi smashes into me, but he catches me and steadies me again.
"What happened?" I hear Hikari ask Takeru. Takeru doesn't answer.
"You can't leave, Yamato. You asked for help, we gave it." Juliet says. Taichi's hand tightens on my arm, which he hasn't let go of yet.
"What do you want?" I demand. Her eyes land on my hands. I look at them, too. The only thing that can be seen against my pale skin is the scar fro-
"Oh. Takeru, I need the Light dagger."
"What?" Takeru says.
"Give it to me." I say. There's a pop, and something taps my shoulder gently. I take it from my brother. Juliet holds her hand out to me. She wants me to get close to her.
"Throw it, Yamato.." I don't think about it, I just do it. I throw it towards her. Juliet jumps back, although I had no intention of hitting her. The ground explodes and I start running again, pulling Taichi with me. Angel and Kasolite make sure Takeru and Hikari follow. Suddenly, we're no longer in the woods, but out on an open plain.
"Oh..Oh no." I hear Hikari gasp. I turn to see what she sees, and nearly collapse. The entire Light Kingdom army stands before. If it wasn't for Taichi holding me up, I would've fallen.
"It's okay, Yamato." Taichi mumbles. I don't know if I can believe him.
