This is the second in a short three part series I didn't know I was going to do, but you people have spoken. Here's the fluffy happy one after the FOB one. The other part (the kinky smutty one) might take a little while. Finals and such. Thank you for the reviews and support.
Molly couldn't believe that Jim had kidnapped a whole band just because he knew they were her favorite. He was always so sweet after hurting her feelings so badly.
True he was a major pain in the ass and she hated that he would be gone so long without talking to her, but then he did crazy things like this that reminded her why she loved him.
They were sitting in a cute little porch swing he'd set up just a ways away from the band so they could hear them, but also talk if they wanted to. The table where they had eaten was all taken care of, almost so fast Molly might have missed it had she not been paying attention.
She was leaning her head on Jim's shoulder, their hands were intertwined and settled on top of his leg. She could tell his brain was going in ten different directions right now. He wasn't paying attention to the band at all, the music didn't interest him much. Sure he had songs he would tolerate, but he was more of a classical music kind of man.
Which was another reason this was so sweet of him. To kidnap her favorite band to be subjected to the music as long as she wanted to be there. The kidnapping wasn't out of character, the selfless act of wasting his time listening to music he didn't even really like just to spend time with her? That was. So she thought she'd better enjoy it while it lasted.
Molly listened to the lyrics of the song being played. It was one of her favorites.
She closed her eyes and listened to the words.
'And I love the way you hurt me
It's irresistible, yeah…
I love the way you hurt me, baby..
You're second hand smoke, second hand smoke
I breathe you in, but, honey, I don't know what you're doing to me
Mon chéri, but the truth catches up with us eventually'
She sighed a bit as she realized it was her favorite because it reminded her of her relationship with Jim. She never knew what he was going to do to her or in his own life that would affect her. She couldn't help but be with him. Every time she looked into his eyes she could see how much he needed her and how much he wanted her to stay with him. It wasn't the healthiest of relationships.
Maybe that last bit in the song was right and she should listen to the truth and get out while she could. But he was irresistible. He would leave her aching for him to come home to her. Every moment he wasn't with her she wanted him to be. Another reason she should probably get out now.
"Molly Hooper you are not seriously listening to the lyrics of this song and thinking it applies to us are you?" Jim's voice brought her out of her thoughts.
Lifting her head up to look at him, she blinked a few time.
"But I didn't even…"
"I know how to read you well enough by now," he brought their joint hands up to his lips and pressed a kiss to the back of her hand as he continued speaking, "to not need you to say anything, love. Now answer question." His thumb gently ran over her hand in a way that made her shiver.
"Well it made sense…you leave for weeks on end and it hurts a lot when you're not here. And then you get back and I can't help but give in to you because you're irresistible. And while I know you'll make a sexual joke about that and how amazingly good looking you are, it's not just that." She blushed slightly and looked down, not meeting his eyes.
He chuckled a bit, tilted her head up with his free hand and kissed her softly.
"Haven't you heard the saying absence makes the heart grow fonder? I'm merely trying to get you to love me even more than you already do."
She couldn't help her small smile at his ridiculous statement.
"No you're not. You leave and you know it drives me crazy." She put her hand on his chest and smoothed out his suit.
"You know that the minute you get back I'll be mad, but get over it the second you do something nice like kidnap a band or kiss me just the right number of times. It's not about me loving you more." She looked into his eyes and sighed
"There is no possible way for that to happen. If I loved you anymore I'd be killing people for you. Just because you asked me to do it. I already give you far too many ideas on that subject." Molly had to look down as she continued, "I already love you so much it hurts."
He blinked a few times and searched her face for some sign she was lying to him. She was so open with her feelings for him. And in the past he'd have used her feelings to his advantage and tried to break her into pieces. He would have made fun of her and made her feel like an idiot for being so normal.
But he couldn't do that now. Not when she was the only person to love him unconditionally. Love him unconditionally and make him feel it. Feel it and want to reciprocate it. Not when she was his.
How much time had she spent, waiting for him to realize that she didn't make him feel numb like the rest of the world? That he wasn't indifferent to her?
This woman.
"You'd never kill for me." He said quietly. "Figure out how to kill someone painlessly, yes. But never the dirty work."
Their eyes stayed locked and Molly felt the intensity that was Jim, change the mood almost instantly.
"You're right." She managed to say even though she felt like he was pinning her in place. She'd become accustomed to feeling like this around him. He didn't know how to tell her that he loved her, and instead he showed her through moments like this.
Fall Out Boy was still playing in the background, but they hadn't really been listening.
"Why that song?" Jim asked her, gently pushing a strand of hair behind her ear and loving the way her eyes fluttered closed slightly from the feel of his fingers on her.
"It just works…I mean it's one of my favorites and it makes sense with our relationship." She said, a confused look taking over her face.
"Well my favorite is Immortals." He said and she gave him a skeptical look, followed by a smile.
"Why that song? Is it because it's the one that happens to be playing right now?"
He gave her an offended look and she giggled.
"I listen to the lyrics too, you know." He said moving slightly closer to her so that their eyes were still locked, but his lips were closer to hers.
She listened to the song and felt her heart start to beat rapidly.
"I try to picture me without you but I can't." Jim whispered in time with the song.
She swallowed and opened her mouth to respond, only to find she couldn't.
Jim have her a smirk and leaned in to kiss her. Her hands came up to cradle his face and he used his now free hands and arms to pull her close to him.
He didn't show her how much he cared about her easily. And he didn't do sentiment. He just knew her and how she was feeling. He knew she needed something ridiculous and lovey dovey in that moment and he gave it to her, because he cared about her.
She knew she felt the same way as him when it came to their relationship. She didn't want to end it, in fact she couldn't see her life without Jim in it now. He was in her life completely and she wasn't going to let him go.
Jim knew she was right about her little analysis of her song. He was going to hurt her. It was just part of who he was. He'd always make it up to her and she'd always come back for more. It was irresistible.
Jim pulled away from her, just to grab her hand and pull her with him as he made his way to where Sebastian was standing.
Molly followed behind him and listened as he told Sebastian they were leaving. His eyes met hers and he said
"We have something to discuss. Remember when you were angry with me earlier?" his eyes had a wicked look about them and she blushed a bit. He was thinking about tying her up and she wasn't averse to this idea.
He took that as conformation and Sebastian let out a snort of laughter. They walked towards the car, listening to the band play their final song of the set: Sugar, we're going down.
