X: Sly and Erica Cooper and the Gang in: Clan of the Cave Raccoon and Quest of the Holy Tail- Part Two

~Sly's POV~
Bentley called me on the Binnocucom to give me my next mission.

"Sly, we need to figure out what that bear is up to.' He pointed out a crack on the right wall of the arena like building. 'That crack in the wall looks like the perfect entrance, but you'd better keep a low profile until we know what's going on."

"I hear ya, Pal!" I replied before hanging up and heading that way. Reaching the front door, I turned and saw a rather large stone arrow pointing out the crack in the wall. I had to admit, it was as if someone placed it there just for me to follow. Chuckling, I slipped through. Reaching the other side, I took a quick look around before going forward. "Still no word from Carmelita?"

"Don't worry, Sly. But I'm sure we'll hear from her soon. And besides, at least we know Erica is safe."

I nodded as I used the Ninja Spire jump to avoid what looked like tar. Finding a crawlspace, I crouched down and started crawling. Halfway there, I heard two mammoths gossiping.

"I know! I heard when Joe messed up, the boss turned him into a coat for that Le Paradox guy!"

"Yeah, that Le Paradox is bad news. I heard last time he was here he yanked this one guy's tusks. Just for fun!"

"Ouch!"

"Yeah, good luck talking to the ladies without any tusks."

"Yeah. Hey, whatever happened to that one guy, Ryan?"

"That guy, William Whaleard, plucked all of Ryan's feathers for his pillow just because he stood in front of him in the lunch line."

"That walrus did that?!"

"He's no walrus. From what I hear, he's a creature called 'Human' and he can only turn temporarily into a walrus."

I raised an eyebrow. 'A Human that can turn into a walrus? Sounds like one of Erica's enemies is here as well.' I thought to myself as I continued forward. "Watch yourself, Sly and don't alert the guards!"

"I hear ya Pal!"

I avoided more guards, ran along a vine, swung from a ring, and climbed up some slippery icicles to reach the inner chambers of the arena. There was a large lava pit and it were five large pillars each with a crank on each. The ropes on each pillar reached down to a net near the large stone platform in the center of them. The net held a strange, struggling, dark brown furred creature. On the north side of the pit was a head statue of some bird, perhaps a pterodactyl, with its mouth wide open.

My Binnocucom buzzed and I picked up. "Wow, I'm glad I'm not that poor guy.' But then I paused and zoomed in closer to the figure under the net. 'What's weird is that he looks kinda familiar..."

"Wait...' Bentley lifted his glasses and rubbed his eyes before blinking at what he was seeing with wide eyes. 'Holy Missing Links! Sly, that's a prehistoric raccoon! I wonder if he could be..."

My eyes widened. "...my ancestor?"

Bentley nodded. "It's a distinct possibility! Let's help him out!"

I nodded. Maybe this was who Erica asked if I met yet in her message.

"Sly, I have an idea, but you need to get that Sabretooth Tiger skin! Just don't let the guards see you!"

"I'm on it, Bentley. One tiger skin, comin' up." I looked to see more sabretooth tiger guards on the bridge. Using an old skin as a trampoline, to reach the rings hanging above him. I hooked my cane onto them and swung over them.

"Look who joined the party.' I muttered seeing the bear that I had taken a picture of earlier as well as a weird, mustache-wearing walrus within the mouth of the pterodactyl head in front of an even weirder painting. 'Why am I not surprised he's part of this? And what's with that walrus? His mustache is about as ridiculous as the one you wore in the Wild West Bentley."

"Har, Har. Very funny, Sly. Wait... That Caveman's Club... doesn't it almost look like a... cane?! Sly you need to hurry!"

I used my paraglider to get across the gap, thanks to an updraft. I then climbed up an icicle and hooked my cane to a wire sliding down to a hole in the head of the pterodactyl face. Looking down I saw the Bear and the Walrus. The Bear was holding a paintbrush in his hand and the Walrus was admiring the painting the Bear was working on. The painting was of the Raccoon trapped below, caught in the net.

"This guy's painting is not improving my opinion of him." I said to Bentley as I pulled out my Binnocucom.

"Forget about the art. See that key? I bet it unlocks that door."

"Right! Time for some real art-' I smirked. 'The art of Pickpocketing!"

I put my Binnocucom up and silently jumped onto an icicle. I slid down it to stand behind the Bear. The Walrus was, to my amusement, asleep.

"Ya know what Whaleard, Van Gogh ain't got nothing on me!' He then shouted to the guards holding the nets. 'Come on now! Hold that Big Fool still!" He continued painting as I snuck up behind him and placed the hook of my cane in his pocket. With a flick of my wrist, several coins flung out of his pocket and into my hand. With a final flick, the key flew out and I caught it.

"You got the key! Go grab that tiger skin, Sly!"

I smirked and snuck away, past William Whaleard. He snorted and I froze as his eyes opened. He spoke with a Swedish accent. "Hmm... Mission. Remember the Mission. Kill Cooper, steal cane, kidnap Cooper Thief, get *yawn* revenge, hand her… over to... Big... Boss..."

His eyes shut and his image shimmered and in the place of a walrus was a rather fat man with a ridiculous mustache and beady little eyes dressed in a suit and tie. I sighed as he began to snore and continued to the door. The door was a picture of that bear... ice skating? Shaking my head I unlocked the door and walked in.

I ran over to the large round bed with purple sheets and a rather bouncy mattress. Seeing the tiger skin, I immediately put it on. "Not really my color, but I'll make it work." Its head was over mine and the long front fangs hung in front of my face. The paws still had their sharp claws on it and would be very useful in taking down enemies.

"Way to go, Sly! Now get going!"

I walked out of the room through an icy hallway, suddenly a guard passed by and, in a split second decision; I dropped to the floor and 'Played Dead'. When he passed I stayed down and crawled on til I came to a gap. On the other side of the gap was a stuffed version of a Dodo bird on a stick. I stood up and watched as it swayed in the breeze.

"If I know my biomechanics, and I do, then I believe those claws will give you extra traction allowing you to make some amazing leaps! Try using a leap to cross that gap."

Staring at the Dodo bird, I crouched. Then with a loud roar, much like a tigers, I leapt and landed on the Dodo my 'claws' sinking into it. Smirking I 'Played Dead' again and crept up behind a real Dodo bird. Leaping with a roar, he was dead in a second.

Soon I found that I had circled around and came back to the large room where my ancestor was trapped. I watched as a Sabretooth Tiger forcefully pulled the cane-like club from my ancestors' grip. "Yo, make it quick with that stick! The Grizz don't play! I ain't got all day!" The Bear now known as 'The Grizz' yelled.

"No! Hugh ry hureg hug!" I blinked and my face scrunched in confusion as my translator wasn't translating. Taking the device out, digging the fluff from my ear and putting it back in, I heard a small beep meaning it finally translated. "No! You can't have it!"

The cane/club was taken and tossed up to a biohazard suited rat that stood next to Grizz and the human Whaleard who was now wide awake. "Now that's what I'm talkin' about!" Grizz shouted. "There's the cane.' Whaleard said. 'Now we wish to speak to *yawn* Le Paradox about our goods." The two then disappeared and the rat disappeared with the cane/club. I pulled out my Binnocucom and called Bentley for advice. "The guards on those pedestals are the ones restraining him, Sly. Take them out and he should be free!"

"Looks easy enough."

"Be careful, Sly! If you're caught, you'll never get him out of there! This is the perfect situation for your Cyclone Pounce!"

With a nod, I focused on the first guard and pounced with a roar. I knocked him off the pedestal and released the gear holding the first rope. I continued Pouncing on the guards, releasing the gears holding the ropes that held the net my ancestor was captured in.

With the last one done, I heard Bentley's voice. "Sly, this is... amazing! I've run comparison tests: facial features, fur length, tail volume, and according to them all, that cave raccoon is DEFINITELY your ancestor! I believe you've found the very first Cooper!"

I jumped down to the platform. "I'm not sure I see the resemblance, but I'll take your word for it, Bentley.' I then called out to my ancestor speaking each word slowly to see if he would understand me. 'Hey Big Guy, what do you say we get out of here?"

He looked up at me and blinked before smirking. He jumped up, tossing off the net and spinning around fast in place; he defeated all the guards around him. We slowly approached each other. "Unghru! Ie eht os ndhsh oshe yed snfls, ked... eidn wer ruu?" "Thanks! I was hoping someone would show up, but... do I know you?"

I shook my head. "Well, no, we've never met. But a reliable source tells me we're distantly related.' I bit my lip and looked away a bit in awe at the fact that this was the first Cooper Raccoon. 'I'm not sure what to say,' I looked back up at him and placed a hand over my heart. 'Um, i-it's truly amazing to meet you! Uh, what's your name?' Smiling a bit, I placed my cane over my shoulder and said with a smile. 'My name's Sly. Sly Cooper. What's yours?"

"Raben hurne... JagurfulsiniefnhoseudlBob." "I am called... JagurfulsiniefnhoseudlBob."

I blinked. When he said the last part of his name, Erica's voice popped into my head. 'Have you met Bo... wait, never mind, you probably haven't met him yet...' 'So was she going to say Bob? He must also be in one of the 'Sly Cooper' Games from her world.'

"Right.' I said knowing the gang and I wouldn't be able to pronounce his name if we tried. 'How about I just call you... Bob?"

He shrugged. "Ufhe, woiehfo. Noe irh ce idn out eo shof boehid meon suedse oend yeher?" "Sure, whatever. Now can we get out of here before more guards show up?"

"He's right, Sly.' Bentley said. 'You two should get out of there before more guards show up!"

I nodded before saying to Bob. "C'mon, follow me!"

I started off in one direction when suddenly he grabbed me and pulled me back. "Um, nuhun. Huigh who!" "Um, no. This way!"

The next thing I know, his mouth grabbed the scruff of my neck. I was being carried like a mother feline would carry her newborn baby. "Okaaay, I guess we'll do it your way." And off we went.

We got Bob safely back to the hideout, where everyone took an immediate liking to him... and he took an immediate interest in our gadgets. While he was busy, Bentley provided the background on his former captors.

The Bears name was Grizz and he made his fame in the art world. Once a common street thug, he'd been thrust into the limelight when he was plucked from the gutter and made famous by a prominent Pop Artist. Gizz's Primitive artwork was hailed as a brilliant new style called 'Paleo Graffiti' and for a while he enjoyed the celebrity status.

His fame was short lived, however, when people realized his art was really just... bad.

Resentful, he returned to his criminal roots quickly becoming the top art thief on Interpol's Most Wanted list. One of Carmelita's main targets, it's now clear how he manage to evade her capture for so long.

William Whaleard on the other hand was a different story. He was the son of rich Doctors and he himself had studied to be one as well... the only problem was that he had a sleeping disorder. A Big One. With such a big sleeping problem he couldn't finish his study's so he failed his exams. He went to thousands of hospitals to see if anyone could cure him. When no one could find a cure he went with illegal means and drugs, building a hospital and funding it.

Erica had landed in his hospital after an accident in her Human Form, landing her with a bit of a spell of amnesia for a week or two. She stayed in that corrupted hospital and used her, at the time, unremembered Cooper Skills to figure out Whaleard's plans and stop him before his special formula for anesthesia, which was laced with illegal drugs, got placed in every hospital around the world.

After we pried Bob away from Bentley's tools, he explained how Grizz and Whaleard just appeared and started harvesting all the Pterodactyl Eggs in the area, eliminating his role as 'food provider' for the tribe and greatest Egg Thief ever. Depressed he'd gone into a slump and gotten out of shape. Which allowed Grizz and Whaleard to capture him and take the new 'tool' he'd invented to help him steal eggs.

So it looked like the very first Cooper Cane had been stolen and it wasn't a fake like the others Le Paradox has been getting.

Great...

We may have rescued Bob from the arena, but we still needed to find out what sort of operation Grizz and Whaleard were running for Le Paradox and why it involved stealing all the eggs. We also needed Bob's help to find the rest of the Van parts, and that meant we had to get him back into climbing shape... fast!

While Bentley was working though that, I decided to try out the Binnocucoms new App myself and see if I can get a message to Erica.

~Erica's POV~

BEEP!

"Hey Erica! It's Sly. I'm not sure if you'll get this message or not but I thought you might like an update. As you probably already know, we're trapped somewhere Prehistoric. There are a lot of Pterodactyls and other Dino's around, even this cute Prehistoric Family of Penguins. Wish I could send you a picture of two parents watching their eggs hatch.

Anyway, Carmelita has gone off somewhere. We don't have any word from her but for Tennessee's sake I hope she's alright. We also met Bob. Well, his real name is JagurfulsiniefnhoseudlBob, man that's a mouthful, but we call him Bob for short. He's... enthusiastic.

On another note, we have another one of Le Paradox's lackeys here: a guy named 'The Grizz'. He is an 'artist' and I use the term loosely. He's been stealing Pterodactyl eggs, we don't know why though. Bob is in a bit of a slump. We'll get him back into shape in no time.

Another thing, William Whaleard is here. Bentley found out what he did in the other world. I hope you didn't have to suffer too much in that insane hospital, especially with amnesia. I want full details of that little 'adventure' when we see each other again.

I hope my ancestor is treating you well. Is everything alright? Is there anything happening there?

... Erica... I wish you were here... I will wait a thousand years for you, you know that right? If the Time Machine wasn't broken I would have come and gotten you as soon as we landed here. Please, call back soon. I wanna know you're alright, and at least tell me who you're with.

I'll call you back soon." End of Message. Do you wish to save this Message?

I saved the message from Sly and put my Binnocucom away with a sigh. King Rogers and Sir Galleth were scouting out the defenses for the entry to the dungeons. I was busy making lunch, just a simple stew of leftover carrots, cabbage and beef, when the two came in. I filled three bowls full and placed them on the table. They came over and sat down to eat and I asked, "What are we up against here?"

"Well, personally I'm not sure since I've never been down in the dungeons in my life. But outside, there are some guards." Rogers said.

"There will most likely be traps and such." Galleth agreed.

I nodded before sighing, leaning back making me face the ceiling, and placing the back of my hand over my eyes. "It's times like this when I wish I had built a backup cane for me to use. I'm useless as a Cooper without mine!"

I felt Sir Galleth place a hand on my shoulder. "I have a surprise for you, my dear.' He then pulled something out from behind his back. 'I went to the blacksmith and had him make this til you get yours back. It's simple, but should work."

I gasped and took the iron and wooden Cooper Cane from the Knight. "Thank you." I finished my stew and headed out. I stood on the roof of the Clock tower and pulled out my Binnocucom.

King Rogers appeared in the screen. "Hello? This working? Ah! Erica, the entrance is guarded tightly. You'll need to use those 'Cooper Clan Skills' to good use. You cannot let them see you. Another thing we found was that they all have keys, but only one has the Master Key which will open the door to the dungeon and all the doors to the cells."

"Right. I'll call back when their all free." Putting it in my tail, I jumped down to the bridge over the moat that led to the dungeon door. About five guards holding lanterns stood in a semicircle in front of the door. I climbed down to the underside of the bridge and crawled along a cable to a wall nearby. Finding some hooks in the wall used to hang banners, I used them to propel me up to a ledge where I snuck across until I reached just above the door. Quietly dropping down I looked at each guard and what they had in their pockets.

"Hmm. Can't tell which one has the Master Key.' I shrugged, swinging my new cane around a bit before placing it over my shoulder. 'Oh well. Time to test this thing out." Slowly, sower then I would usually go, I picked the pocket of the guard on the far right, getting only coins. Sighing, I tried the one opposite of him and no dice. I continued til I reached the middle one who also didn't have the Key.

"Now what?" I wondered pocketing the coins. Suddenly, a noise came from behind me. I jumped to the ceiling and hung from a lantern there. Out of the door to the dungeon came a rather large guard, and in his pocket I saw the Key!

Slowly, hung upside-down from the lantern and used my cane to grab the Key. As the larger guard left, giving the others instructions not to leave their post, I dropped down to the ground, opened the door and made my way down the steps to the dungeon.

The place was dark and bleak. Rats scurried on the ground at my feet and crying coming from deeper within. "Well, if this doesn't say 'Dark and Depressing' I don't know what does."

"Joke later, Child.' Came the voice of Sir Galleth. 'You need to get those prisoners out." I nodded before walking forward only to see the floor where I was about to step on dropped into a pit of fire. "Well, that was close." I looked up to see an old chain ring right in the middle of the ceiling above the pit.

"A long jump, but it will have to do." I took a couple of steps back before running at full speed and jumping at the edge of the pit. Grabbing the ring with my cane I swung across to safety only to have to duck as a large wrecking ball flew over my head. "Seems like if you don't throw the switch you get continuous traps." I said looking back at a barely visible switch that was on the ceiling next to the hook.

I continued on, sometimes forgetting about the switches, until I finally reached the holding cells. I ran to each door and unlocked them helping the prisoners out and leading any children to their families if they had been in separate cells. All the while, I listened to what Sir Galleth had to say about where we go from here.

"I know of a shortcut, a small gap in the wall that leads to an underground tunnel. That tunnel will lead you directly out of town to the nearby forest. Open it, and tell them to continue on til they find a clearing. King Rogers will be waiting for them there with supplies. They will need to survive out in the forest for a while but they will manage."

I nodded before looking around for the gap in the wall. "There aren't any traps along the tunnel are there?" I asked finally finding the gap and pulling it open.

"None whatsoever."

"Thanks Galleth." I turned to the former prisoners. "Alright! I found a tunnel! It leads directly outside the town to the nearby forest. Go in and continue til you find a clearing where a friend of mine will give you instructions." They all started going in two or three at a time most of them thanking me. As the last one entered the tunnel, I placed a camera up in a corner behind a spider web in case someone came down. Satisfied, I went through the passage and silently closed it behind me.

But not after leaving a little message behind...

~Camera's POV~
There was a bang as the large guard fell on his behind in shock before shouting to get the Prince and his Fiancé. When Leona and Edward came down the stairs, they stood in shock at the empty cells.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE PRISONERS?!" Leona yelled to the guard. Her voice was so loud the guard jumped and dropped the torch he held.

Once the torch hit the floor it sparked some gasoline that flowed towards the opposite wall. The camera recorded words painted in black tar on the wall.

YOUR REIN OF TERROR ENDS SOON EDWARD! THAT CROWN WILL NEVER FIT AND YOU AND LEONA WILL NEVER SIT ON THE THRONE! LONG LIVE THE TRUE KING! LONG LIVE KING RODGERS!

And underneath it, tar caught on fire and reviled the tar beneath the message to be in the shape of the Cooper Clan Symbol.

"Cooper?! Cooper's exsist in this Dimension too?! WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME?! A COOPER RUINED MY LIFE I WILL NOT ALLOW ANOTHER TO RUIN MY NEW ONE!"

Edward was in a corner cowering at his Bride-to-Be's anger. He got so scared, he finally cried out "Mommy!" before grabbing his left ear and sucking on his right thumb.
