Chapter 10
"What is that?" he asked himself. He put his hands on either end of the lid and pulled the top of it off. He saw inside, all of the dirty water, the pipes, and the valve and then, beautiful, small, red box was seen. Eddie slowly touched it. "Ahh" he yelped as the red hot chest, burned him. As soon as he touched it, the glow disappeared, and now it was just an old wooden chest, with….with. "The eye of Horus?" asked Eddie as he stroked his hand of the eye on the chest. "Eddie, where are you?" Eddie heard Patricia shouting for him. He hid the chest as best he could, under his cardigan and walked back to his seat. When nobody was looking, he hopped up and slid the chest into his bag, above the seats. The, "Hello, this is your pilot speaking, we have just over three hours left of flight, and are beginning to experience minor turbulence, but there is nothing to worry about!" said the pilot through his microphone. "Oh gosh, there's turbulence!" shouted Fabian. The whole plane then began vigorously shaking. "Can everybody please buckle up your seatbelts" said the pilot, again. "Wow, this is fun!" shouted Willow who was sitting in her seat with her hands up, like it was a ride. "Ok, so Eddie, truth or dare?" asked Patricia. "Truth" He replied. "Ok, is it true that you are scared of pigs?" asked Patricia. "No, what kind of stupid …" Patricia then held up a picture of a pig on her phone in his face. "Ahh" he screamed as he knocked the phone out of her hand. "Ha-ha" everybody laughed.
2 hours later, there was 1 and a half hours left of the flight. "Wow, what's that?" asked willow, who was staring out of the window. "Looks like, the grand canyon" said Mara. "Who wants to know some facts?" she asked. "No!" shouted Fabian, "That's enough facts for one day" He said. Joy and Jerome were asleep again. Patricia decided to wake them up. She walked over to their seats, and shouted in their ear "GET UP!", before she wandered back to her seat. "What are you doing?" shouted Jerome as he jumped up and screamed at Patricia. However she just smiled. After another hour on the plane, there was half an hour left. "We are now beginning our descent, may all passengers buckle up their seatbelts" Said the pilot, as he lowered the plane. "Omg!" Fabian said as he hugged Mara. "What if we land wrong and we crash?" asked Fabian. "Yeah, imagine if they forget to take the wheels out and we land with no wheels" Willow laughed. "So, you all ready for California?" asked Alfie. "Yeah, so much!" shouted Willow and Fabian, as they both lent their heads on their partners. "Can't we just get a cruise back to England?" he asked. "No, a cruise will take days" said Mara. "OH, look, were really low now, only a few minutes until landing" said Eddie. Fabian just sighed. "We are now lined up with the runway and will be landing shortly" the pilot announced. "Were really low now, look, I can see the Hollywood sign" said Amber as she pointed out of the window. "Oh yeah, wow, it's so big" said Willow. "I can't wait to visit it properly" said Jerome. "Who wants to know some facts?" asked Mara. "Ok, one fact" said Fabian as he held one finger up. "Ok, the Hollywood sign was built in 1923, Los Angeles Times publisher, Harry Chandler, created the original Hollywoodland sign, however the 'land' was taken down in 1949" Mara droned on… "Ooh, look I see daddy's Hollywood chalet" said Amber.
"Why is everyone so excited? This stuff is so boring" said Patricia, as she layed back on her chair. "Ooh, look the beach" said Joy. "And the pier" said KT as she stared out of the window, amazed. "BOORING!" Shouted Patricia. They were extremely low now. "Ooh, look, a police chase" said Willow. Suddenly Patricia jumped up, "Where, where?" she urgently asked. "Patricia, put your seat belt back on" said Eddie as he pulled her back down. "We are now coming in to land" the pilot announced as he pressed the button and the wheels emerged from underneath the plane. "Ooh, look, the airport" Said Willow. Fabian was clinging on to Mara. They were now flying over the runway, when there was a small shudder of them hitting the floor. "AHHHHH" Fabian screamed, as the pilot hit the reverse thrusters and the plane, went from 200mph, to 10mph within 20 seconds. Once they had stopped. "Is it over?" asked Fabian as lifted his head up. "Oh, it's over" said Patricia, grinning at Fabian. The plane then began taxiing to the gate (Parking Spot). "Wow, that was so much fun!" shouted Willow. Jerome and Joy then both looked out their window and could faintly see downtown LA. "We have now landed at LA international airport, we will be parked and you may exit the plane very soon" announced the pilot, making his last couple of announcements. "Wow, look! I can see all of the buildings" said Joy, as she nudged Mara. Mara looked out the window and what she immediately said was "So, who wants to know some facts?", "Urgh" Everybody sighed. "Oh, go on then" said Joy, looking at Mara. "Well, the roof of the U.S bank tower is approximately 1,018 ft. above sea level, however, the top floor is 967.6 ft. above sea level" Said Mara, in a happy voice, very enthusiastic about her facts. "Plus, it is the 64th tallest building in the world" She added. "Wow, how do you know this stuff Mara?" asked Jerome, staring at her like she's a mad woman.
The plane then parked and everybody took their seatbelts off. The pilot decided to make a final announcement, "Thank you for flying British airways, please do come back and enjoy your day". After 10 minutes, everybody hopped off and walked through the airport. They collected their bags on the conveyor belt. Willow snatched her bag and shouted, "I want a go!" as she leapt onto the hugged conveyor, and it took her away. Alfie ran beside her, and tried to pull her off, but she was having too much fun. "Ooh, what does this button do?" asked Willow as she pressed a big red button on the side of the slow conveyor. It then began speeding up, she was whizzing around like a maniac. Joy sighed, before she held her arm out and grabbed her cousin. "Why are you being dumb?" asked Joy. "Sorry for trying to have a little fun, bossy boots. They all then exited the Airport and began making their way to the subway station (Underground Station). "Wow, where were from, we have the London underground, but here they have to Los Angeles Metro Rail" said Willow, reading the wall. They waited on the platform for a train to finally arrive. After a few minutes, a train came dashing out of the tunnel, before squeaking to a full stop. It stopped and the doors slid open. Everybody climbed aboard, besides Willow. Willow was too busy talking to strangers. "Hello, I'm English" Willow said to an elderly man, sitting on a bench. The trains' doors then slid shut with a quiet shudder. "Wait, where's Willow?" asked Eddie. Kt then noticed Willow. "Willow, press the button, get on the train" Shouted Kt as she banged on the Window. Willow then turned around and saw the train shunting out of the station. "Guys, Guys? Wait up!" she shouted as she banged back on KT's window. Willow chased the train to the end of the station, but it was gone. Willow was left on the platform all alone.
