Lord Maxwell was right...it was a pretty childish game wasn't it?
Enya was in the Great Hall as all the clans gathered to eat dinner for that night. She had to choose two suitors to send home. But who? She thought of sending Abernathy and Angus home. Of course, Abernathy seemed like a nice guy, but there wasn't really any chemistry between them, no spark. With Angus, he seemed to take everything seriously and she noticed that he would act differently around her. She hated that. And he kind of creeped her out too.
Enya sighed. Why was this so hard? Well she was choosing her future husband so she had to make sure she made the right decision. She smiled to herself then excused herself from the table and went to the bathroom.

After finishing up, Enya walked back to the Great Hall. She heard a conversation going on in one of the empty rooms. She recognized the voice. It was Ian and he was talking to...a girl? She peered over the corner. She was right.
The girl he was talking to had long curly red hair and a navy blue dress.
She made sure she was hidden and listened to the conversation.
"Fine, right. I will do that."
"I hope she'll be okay with that..."
He smiled. "I'm sure she will be, Merida."
Enya blinked. Okay with what? She noticed they were coming out of the room so she backed up to hide so they wouldn't see her as they passed...but she tripped over her feet and fell backwards.
Ian exited the room and saw the princess on the floor. He immediately ran to her with Merida following him. "Oh my goodness," He helped her up. "Princess, are you alright?"
"Yes I'm alright! Just lost my balance for a second there." She noticed Merida. "Ah, who is this with you? She's so pretty and your hair is just gorgeous!"
Merida blinked and blushed a little. "Oh...well...er..."
"Princess..." Ian interrupted. "You see...the thing is..."
She smiled and shook her head. "Don't worry Ian. I understand."

Every clan gathered after dinner in the Great Hall as Enya announced which suitors she was sending home. She already knew she was sending home Ian and that she was going to send home Abernathy.
Lord Maxwell stood there with his clan with his arms crossed.
But Enya still felt nervous and pressured. She looked around. Every clan stared at her, eager to find out which two suitors she kept and which two suitors she sent home. She cleared her throat then took a deep breath and exhaled. It was now or never.

King Alister stared at his daughter's back as she stood facing the other clans. This was it; she was going to make her decision. He glanced over at Lord Maxwell, who was staring at the princess impatiently wanting to hear her answer. His eyes met his and Lord Maxwell gave him a smirk before turning back to look at Enya.
He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He really hoped Enya would keep Angus. Or else… His thoughts were interrupted when Enya cleared her throat.

Enya looked at Ian and Abernathy. "I'm sorry, Ian, Abernathy. I won't choose either of you."
Abernathy nodded then went over to his clan.
Ian nodded and snuck in a smile to her before going over to his clan.
Lord Maxwell just smirked. Excellent.
She smiled at them. "But I know that you'll make a great husband for a lucky girl…it's just not me."
They smiled back at her and nodded. They both bowed and left the room with their clans.
