De-ageing Hermione and Her Prankster Friend!
Chapter 10: Into the dungeons, we go
Professor Dumbledore, Flitwick and Snape continued down the stairs towards the Hogwart's dungeons with the three Weasley's and Hermione's Parents. The sounds of screams echoed through the narrow dimly lighted corridors as they descended deeper into the bowels of the centuries-old castle.
After what seemed to be hours but was actually only a few minutes they came across more horribly disfigured students similar to the students that they had found in the corridors above, Unlike the students with bunny ears on the fourth floor, the students in the dungeons were partially transfigured to have the appearance of sea creatures. One student appeared to have the tentacles of an octopus sticking out of their face while another had flippers instead of arms. There was also a student that had the upper body and face of an otter while their human legs remained.
Dumbledore had no idea how two five-year-olds could cause so much trouble. The four wizards and two witches healed any students they came across as they continued further into the bowels of the castle. The students they treated were sent once more to the higher levels of the castle.
The dungeons were split into three levels; the first level consisted of the potions classroom, Snape's quarters and many disused classrooms. The middle level consisted of the Slytherin common room, and more disused classrooms. The lowest level was a proper medieval dungeon that had once been used to punish students that misbehaved, this part of the castle hadn't been used in over 500 years.
They found many students throughout the first level of the dungeons, but nothing could prepare them for the sight that met their eyes upon entering the second level of the dungeons. It became shatteringly apparent that the sound of water they could hear from above was in actual fact the water of the Hogwarts lake. The corridor was filled with waist-deep water; the water had filled the corridor below and the water was seeping out through the wall to the Slytherin Common Room slowly rising higher.
The Slytherin Common Rooms only window happened to be located about a meter under the Black Lake. That meant there was an awful lot of water potentially on the other side of the door. There were many students and staff still unaccounted for plus they had yet to find Hermione and Fred.
After taking account of the situation that faced them Dumbledore came up with a plan to tackle the situation. He placed barrier onto the wall that would prevent any more water from escaping into the school. He then used the password "Pureblood", and the wall to the Slytherin Common Room slid apart.
The common room was almost completely flooded, the exception being a small air pocket above the window. The window had completely vanished. There was no student, teacher, or inhabitant of the Dark Lake to be seen but muffled screams could be heard coming from the direction of the Slytherin Dormitories that were accessed by going up a stairwell on the left-hand side of the common room. Dumbledore waved his wand, and the water began to get sucked back out into the lake.
It took about 10 minutes to get rid of all of the water but once it was cleared Dumbledore replaced the glass and removed the barrier to the common room. Cautiously they made their way into the common room and up the stairs to the dormitories.
They expected to find chaos upon reaching the dormitory's, but instead, they found four Slytherin fourth years with their wands pointed towards the door to the seventh years boy's dormitory.
The Slytherin's in question were, Blaise Zabini, Theodore Nott, Pansy Parkinson and finally Draco Malfoy. Each of them was soaking wet and had some form of injury or transfiguration.
Pansy's usually pale complexion had been dyed a violently bright shade of pink, and she had a bloody gash on her upper left arm, she had used her Slytherin tie as a Tourniquet to stem the blood.
Theodore like Pansy was injured, he was slid halfway down the wall with his weight resting on his left side as his right leg stuck out at an unnatural angle his leg clearly broke.
Blaise had a shark fin protruding from his back and was covered in yellow polka dots.
Draco's forehead had a deep cut and blood was running down the left-hand side of his face-obscuring half of his vision and ruining his white school shirt.
Not once did any of their wands waver as they pointed them at the solid wooden door.
From the other side of the door you could hear clearly the sound of screaming, now they were so close to the sound it was easy to work out that it was the scream of a child not getting their own way. Hermione's voice could be heard through the door screaming "Let me out!"
