All it took was a single kiss to stir up the drama.

Rose walked into the Great Hall holding hands with Scorpius, and she gave him a single peck on his lips before she said goodbye to him and they parted ways to sit at their tables. Everyone was looking at Rose and Scorpius back and forth, and all the chatter became gossipy whispers.

Rose ignored everyone and sat down next to Roni, taking a muffin and pouring a cup of coffee for herself without saying anything. Roni seemed like she was about to say something, but Lily came bounding over to the two, her straight red hair flowing behind her. She slammed into the area across from Rose and Roni, and she was hyperventilating as she sat down. She took a deep breath and then looked at Rose with excitement gleaming in her eyes.

"What. Was. That."

"Is it out of the ordinary to kiss your boyfriend nowadays, Lily?" Rose asked as she slowly peeled the wrapper off her muffin, careful not to get crumbs everywhere, as she hated crumbs.

"Shut up. I knew it. I knew it! I knew it since the beginning of last year when I first saw you and Scorpius in the same room, and I said that you and Malfoy would end up dating before your 5th year, and Lorcan and Lysander both told me it would never happen, and Maddie said it wouldn't be until your 7th year, and-" Lily paused to take a breath for the first time since she started talking- "and everyone told me that I was obsessed, and maybe I was obsessed, but you know what, Rose? You know what? I was right, because I'm always right. Lily, 1, everyone else, 0. In fact, scratch that first part when I said I knew since last year. I actually knew before that. I remember in the first letter Albus sent home to mum and dad, he said, and I quote, 'Rose says Scorpius is a stupid ferrethead.' From then on, I knew."

"I guess you were right then, Lily," said Rose, and Lily hopped up from her seat to sit next to Lorcan where she was originally sitting.

"Boyfriend?"

"Yeah."

"Nice. Are you going to the Slytherin Halloween party on Wednesday? I know you don't like school night parties, but you don't have to get drunk, and you stay up really late most of the time anyway, so it'll be fine," Roni said persuasively, giving Rose a pleading look.

"Halloween is Scorpius's birthday, so I'm only going if that's what he wants to do."

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. But you can't just leave me alone at a party Lucas is going to be at. Lucas is going to be there and I don't really want to talk to him," Roni said, and her voice went from her normal, loud voice to a quiet whisper as she started to talk about Lucas.

"Aww, why not?" Rose asked sympathetically.

"I thought that it was him that didn't really like me, but I'm starting to think that it's me that doesn't really like him. I mean, he always goes out of his way to talk to me, he flirts with me every time he sees me if he has time for a one-liner or two, he is super cute, he has the nicest abs of any boy in the school, he is a great boyfriend and a good person, and any girl in their right mind would give him a chance. If I were to fall in love with any boy at this school, it would be him," Roni explained, glancing over at Lucas, who was sitting at the Slytherin table.

"But?"

"But there's this girl. Do you know the Hufflepuff Quidditch seeker? Bobbi? Yeah. When I thought I liked Lucas, my thoughts were just, "wow, yeah, he's cute, he's got nice abs, so I probably should like him." But when I first saw Bobbi on the Quidditch pitch for the first Hufflepuff match this year, it was so much different. I could not stop thinking about her for days, and when I did stop thinking about her for a few seconds, I started thinking about her again. When I laid my eyes on her for the first time, my heart went crazy. I thought it would pop right out of my chest, Rose. I tried to ignore it, I really did, and I thought I was just jealous that there was a girl who was prettier and more athletic than me. But honestly, I can't lie to myself or anyone else anymore. I think I am a lesbian, Rose."

"Thanks for trusting me enough to tell me, Roni. Of course this doesn't change anything between us, because love is love. I will still have to ask Scorpius what he wants to do because it's still his birthday, but if I can't go, I'm sure Albus and Ross will try and help you. Eventually, though, you are going to have to tell Lucas that you're not interested. Whether or not you come out to him is up to you, but you can't keep leading him on. You've been talking to him for weeks now, and soon, he might try and kiss you. He probably already would've if he thought you were interested," Rose said, wrapping her arm around her friend supportively.

"I know, I know, it's just… I know this is wrong, but as long as I am dating a boy, it helps to keep me from thinking about girls. I'm scared of what people will think. I mean, it made Albus's popular friends stop talking to him. I know I have you, and I know Hazel has two dads so I will have her and Alice, and I know I have Al, and Scorpius, and Ross… but I am scared everyone else will hate me," Roni said, burying her face in her hands. Rose wrapped her arms around Roni.

"Come on, you don't need a bunch of homophobes in your life anyway. You are Veronica Su, badass 5'3" Vietnamese chick who doesn't need anybody's opinion. Are you really worried about what Homophobic Helen and Anti-Gay Alex think?" Roni giggled and lifted her face out of her hands.

"I guess I don't. Thanks, Rose. I love you so much," she said, and she finally returned Rose's hug.

"Now, tell me more about Bobbi, she sounds really cute," Rose suggested excitedly, and Roni's face brightened.

"Oh my gosh, she is. She has the literal softest-looking brown hair that just goes past her shoulders, and she has these soft brown eyes that somehow just scream kindness, and she has this sun-kissed skin with a bunch of little scratches and bruises from Quidditch practice and freckles on her face, and she sits in front of me in transfiguration, and I want to melt right then and there when she walks into the room with her really lean, athletic legs that you can just hardly see through her robes and she walks to the seat with that one way she walks where she has that very feminine strut-type walk without the ego, and she sits down in front of me and tosses her hair over the chair and it flows so nicely over the back of the chair. And oh my gosh, she always smells like cinnamon apple. Always. Now cinnamon apples drive me as crazy as she drives me."

"Do you know if she is gay or not?" Rose asked, and Roni sighed.

"I'm not sure. But you know who would know?"

"Who?"

"Albus. His gaydar is impeccable," said Roni. She then stood up, walked over to the Slytherin table, and grabbed Albus, dragging him over.

"Umm, hi. You could have just asked me to come over," he said as he sat across from Roni and Rose.

"Well then the pretty boy will ask questions. This conversation has to stay between you, Rose, and me, got it?" Roni asked seriously, and Albus nodded. "Great. I guess I will start off by telling you that I am a lesbian."

"I knew it. Ross owes me 5. Anyway, I am assuming that's not all," Albus responded, and Roni nodded.

"See, that impeccable gaydar is exactly what I need. There's this girl in my transfiguration class named Bobbi, and I really, really like her. She is the seeker for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, and she is so gorgeous. But I need to know if she is gay, and I thought you would be able to help," Roni explained, and Albus was staring at the Hufflepuff table in thought.

"Is Bobbi the tall brunette with the really nice legs?"

"Yes, that's the exact girl I am talking about! What do you know?" Roni asked hopefully.

"She's bi," Albus told her, and Roni looked at him in shock.

"Really? Are you sure?"

"Pretty sure. If she is anyone, she will be at the party on Wednesday, and I will be able to do a little digging with the help of you and Ross," said Albus. "If you are comfortable with me telling Ross."

"Go ahead, because I would do anything to taste those pretty pink lips, believe me."

"Do you ladies need anything else, then?" Albus asked, glancing back and forth between the two of them.

"There's… one more thing," Roni added awkwardly, and she blushed. "Do you… ever regret coming out, and do you think I should?"

"Roni, I will be honest with you; there are a lot of homophobes at this school. But that doesn't include any of your friends or any of the people that you have respect for. I will also tell you that no matter how sneaky you think you are, you will get outed once you start dating someone. However, no matter how homophobic certain people are, us fellow LGBTs have your back, and so do your friends who are allies. And at the Halloween party, we will scope out the perfect girl for you, okay?"

"I love you guys so much."

"I know, right? We're amazing," said Albus with a smile, and the three of them all laughed.
