Chad stepped out of the spa room, clad in swim shorts with a towel around his neck. A quiet blast of warm air caused Troy to look up from his phone, put it in his back pocket, and come from the wall he had been leaning on to walk over to Chad.

"Thank you," Troy began, "For meeting me here."

"It wasn't any trouble at all." Chad said. "What's going on?"

"Okay." Troy exhaled, running a hand through his hair. "Chad, you're my best friend, practically my brother, so please listen to what I have to say."

"Alright then, shoot." Chad made himself comfortable by leaning on the wall, his arms crossed.

Troy put his hands together and placed them under his chin. "So you know this whole Taylor situation?"

"Yes?" He arched a brow and smirked. "Where are you going with thi-"

"Stay away from her." Troy interrupted, bringing his hands from his chin to point at Chad.

His companion looked at him with surprise not expecting this ridiculous question seemingly out of nowhere. "I'm sorry what?"

"Stay away from Taylor. It's not a good situation and you know it." Troy said.

"Troy-" Chad began

"No tea. No Shade. Just facts." Troy shrugged. Now it seemed as if Chad was irritated. His lip had curled into a menacing smirk.

He chuckled softly. "Well that's going to be hard my friend, considering she's my wedding planner."

Troy's eyes widened at the core of it all being mentioned. "That's exactly my point!" He agreed, extending his hand to motion at Chad to show it. "What part of this seems normal to you? Your ex-girlfriend, planning your wedding."

Chad frowned. He hadn't really thought much of it, really he didn't like to. "It happens in Hallmark movies?" That was the best he could do. It was low, but an attempt at redemption nonetheless. Troy confirmed that it was an absolutely ludicrous explanation by the expression on his face.

"This isn't a Hallmark movie, Chad! This is someone's life!" He said.

"I know, I know!" Chad sighed. "It really sucks, but you know I'm not trying to hurt her. I'm trying to make this as easy as possible."

"Oh she's fine without you." Troy backed up slightly, giving him a sassy lookover. "The issue is the situation itself. It's awkward if anything, and your fiance is being a total bridezilla to her." Chad looked confused and slightly shocked. Troy sighed, "Her phone is broken. If someone makes a call, it stays on whether she answers or not...I don't know it's weird. The point is that I heard everything, and Shaylah was out of line."

"I realize that, Troy." Chad pinched the bridge of his nose slightly. "I already feel bad about it." He mumbled and sighed. "Is she alright? Shay was especially harsh just now."

Troy quickly paced in front of him, trying to gather his incoherent thoughts. If he spoke now, it would probably come out like an infuriated, squawking duck. Ah, there were his words. "What did she tell you after it happened?"

"She was smiling and bubbly. She sent the two of us to the spa, all smiles...but she made this comment about her wanting to get my wedding done as fa-"

"Then that's it! Clearly she's fine!" Troy smiled.

"But-"

Oh boy Shaylah was here! Oooh she looked way more relaxed now. "Hey guys!" She chirped. "Whatcha talking about?"

"Sports." Troy commented bluntly.

"Movies." Chad said at the same time.

Shaylah frowned. "Everything okay?"

"Everything is fine." Troy smiled. "We just made a small mistake. It was both actually. Sports movies. I was inviting him to watch a soccer one. The life story of Pele. Just rented it. I was thinking...Saturday?" He looked to Chad. Chad was about to respond before Shaylah spoke.

"Ooh~ that sounds fun! Let's do it!" Shay smiled up at Chad. "Alright, I'm going back in to get a facial. Keep talking your boy stuff! Bye!"

"Bye!" The guys waved. As soon as the door closed, Troy flipped around to glare at his best friend.

"Great! Now I have to host little Miss She-devil on Saturday!" Troy hissed.

"I'm really sorry, man. Let me schedule that in." Chad mumbled, getting his calendar out and typing in the event. He tried to ignore Troy's comment. He already knew he wasn't a fan of his soon to be wife. "What time?"

"I don't know, six?" Troy groaned, clearly not enjoying his new plans. "There goes date night...damn and I've been buttering Gabi up too. I was so sure we were gonna-"

"ALRIGHT~ back to our conversation!" Chad interrupted quickly. He had absolutely no interest in the couple's sinful activities. He'd already been through enough of that in high school.

"Yes. You're right. You're absolutely right." Troy nodded. "Sorry about that. Anyway…" He gazed back at the spa door, making sure Shaylah wasn't spying again. "I think you should leave her alone."

"Again, how?" Chad looked bored at this point. "The only reason we got her is because our previous planner got sick. Your wife just went ahead and gave her time off. Apparently, it was overdue anyway. Taylor was the only person available. Unless-"

"No, Chad. They're still booked." Troy answered his unspoken question.

Chad sighed. "Maybe we'll just switch to another company then. I can just remove both of us from the situation."

Troy leaned closer to him, quieting his voice even further. "You know you can't do that. Dude, Shaylah will kill you."

"Can you please stop seeing the worst in my fiance? Or at least alerting me of it? I already know she'll throw a fit, but she's not awful." Chad glared.

Troy looked back at him. He didn't even have to speak, he just looked at him. He was pretty sure if he did speak, he would have said: "Are you sure about that.?" but alas, his face had to do the talking for him.

"Okay, then let's look at it this way. Gabriella will kill you. In fact, she already wants to kill you for hurting Taylor." Troy said lightly. "She's trying her best not to smack you upside your stupid head as it is, why would you worsen it for yourself by taking money out of her household? Our household?"

"She'll get over it!" Chad hissed. He couldn't exactly yell because of his fiance being nearby.

"But she will let it sit, Chad. That's what you're not getting. The same way you and Taylor said your final goodbyes five years ago, and she's still salty about it, is the same way she'll let your business retraction sit. I think it's clear at this point that Taylor isn't her immediate concern."

"What the hell, Troy, of course she is!" Another challenger approached. Gabriella.

"Babe! Hi!" Troy flinched. "W-"

"Don't even start with me, Troy. You've already canceled date night. Which sucks because you were so close to getting lai-" She began.

"Buuut it was already canceled because now we have to entertain Chad and Shay." He interrupted. Chad had suffered enough. Gabriella was about to ask why, but soon got her answer. "We'll discuss it later."

"Okay, well now let's discuss what I just walked in on." She glared. "I do care about Taylor. I do. She's my best friend. However, she's also my fastest planner and we were booked! I didn't expect Shaylah to be marrying Chad! I thought that was a joke. I removed myself from his dating life mind you, hardly even remembered Shaylah's name until now. I thought she was yet another fleeting fling."

"Then why didn't you stop her when she came crying to you?!" Troy hissed at his wife.

"I didn't stop her, because I didn't have much of a choice!" She hissed back. "I negotiated with her."

"Wait. She cried?" Chad looked at the two of them.

"Panic attack." Troy responded bluntly.

"Of course she-" Gabriella began before looking up at Troy. Troy kept his eyes on Chad.

"Don't switch dude. Gabi (though misjudged I suppose) ultimately won't be happy, and your fiance will have your head. Clearly, she loves it here." He said, motioning to Shaylah, who was clearly having the time of her life. Her smile was so peaceful...

"The only person who won't kill you is Taylor." Gabriella muttered in agreement. Troy nodded.

Chad sighed. They were right. "Fine." He mumbled. "Let's just hope you're right about her speed, Gabi. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get a sea scrub with my bride-to-be." He walked back inside.

"We'll talk when we get home," Gabriella said after a moment. "Thanks for lunch. I have to send these documents to some clients so I'll be on the phone for a while. Check on Taylor on the way out?"

Troy nodded. "I just did, but totally. I think I have a way to help her out."

-TT-TT-TT-TT-

"What is this supposed to do exactly?" Taylor blinked, questioning Troy from her office chair quietly as she ate the sandwich he'd brought her.

"I know you have somewhere to be Monday, you basically have a three day weekend. I just want you to be prepared for what comes the next day." Troy said, pinning something to the back wall. He stepped back and admired his work. "There. Come here and look." He smiled and waved her over. Taylor walked over to give it a look; it was a dry erase laminated sheet of a wedding planning checklist.

"What's this for?" She looked up at Troy.

"I know it seems overwhelming now, and it has every right to feel that way," Troy began, wrapping an arm around her shoulders, "but if you have this in front of you, I feel like you'll feel a little bit more relaxed. This isn't forever, it's just a few months. Okay?" He smiled down at her. She gave him an emotional smile and nod, hugging him tightly.

"Thanks, Troy…."

"Anytime."
