So yeah, I actually wrote this before the title unification stuff was announced as official. It's not mentioned much anyway.

"How long as she been like this?" Natalya bit her lip as she walked into Ted and Mary's hotel suite after WrestleMania.

Ted sighed as he closed the door and looked over to his fiance. "She was in shock when I came out of the shower, and she was OK most of the way here, but once we walked inside, she just..." He motioned over to the bed helplessly, distraught over the sight of the woman he loved.

"Do you have any idea why?" Natalya frowned as she looked over her best friend, curled up in a ball on the bed.

Ted nodded, handing Natalya Mary's phone, the text Mary had received from a blocked number still on the screen. "Eleven years is a long time, and I have some ideas as to the types of things that she had done. So this isn't that much of a surprise."

Natalya swallowed hard as she looked the text over and handed the phone back over to Ted. "She said that she never really dated anyone else, but this could be something along the lines of a pimp or drug dealer."

Ted cringed visibly. "I had a feeling it could be that bad. But just... why now? It's been public knowledge that she's been back in her old life for a year now."

"Ted..." Natalya took a deep breath, pointing to the title belt on top of his bag.

Ted bit his lip, looking over to where Natalya was pointing. "You don't think that because I won the title that this guy is suddenly going after her?"

"More like what happened after the match. She's pregnant and engaged. Guys like that don't like seeing girls they once 'possessed' ever being happy. They hate it," Natalya glanced over to the other bed where Marcus and Tate were both sound asleep. "Doesn't help that these two guys are already in the happy picture."

Ted tensed visibly as he followed his friend's glance over to the bed containing the two boys who called him 'daddy'. "You... you don't think that this guy would do anything to the boys... do you?"

Hearing her fiance's words, Mary slowly sat up, nodding. "That was the first thing I thought of. I only ever saw this guy merely threaten children, but..."

"That's just what you witnessed," Natalya bit her lip as she slowly and cautiously sat next to her best friend.

"I suddenly feel like a total douche for the way I grew up. I was so privileged," Ted sighed, scrubbing his hand over his face. "All I know about that type of lifestyle is what I saw in the movies."

"And that's just Hollywood," Natalya nodded, feeling the same way, as she brought an arm around Mary. "How accurate could all of that be?"

"There is a hidden element of truth to all fiction. That's where writers get their ideas. Even in fantasy movies and books, there is some element of real life in there somewhere," Mary bit her lip, looking up to Ted, reaching her hand out to him. "Trust me, when it comes to that sort of life, the movies from the past twenty years aren't that far off."

Ted took his fiance's hand, not bothering to try and hide the fact that his was shaking. "What can we do?"

Mary took a deep breath, looking down for a moment before she looked up to her fiance and best friend once again. "No matter what we do, I'd like to keep this in the family. The last thing we want is for this to get out to the public. That could only make things worse."

Natalya hugged her best friend tightly. "I think I'm going to go and leave you two be alone for the night. I think that you both just need to relax. I'll let TJ know what's going on. Then in the morning, we can go to Steph with everything."

Mary nodded, returning the hug. "That's probably the best idea. Have a good night, Nattie."

Natalya got up, giving Ted a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Take care of her, sweetie." She took a deep breath, giving her friends a reassuring smile before letting herself out of the room.

Ted nodded as the door closed, pulling his shirt over his head and setting it aside before climbing into bed next to Mary. "No matter what happens, and no matter what is brought up about your past, I will stand by your side through it all. I love you, Mare Bear." He kissed her softly.

Mary nodded, returning the kiss as she wrapped her arms around him. "I love you too, Teddy Bear. This is going to be a long journey. The road will be rough, but I know that no matter what, I have you and my family."

The next morning Mary and Ted, along with Natalya and Tyson Kidd, sat in a conference room with Stephanie McMahon-Hemsley, and her husband, Paul "Triple H" Levesque. All three couples sat in silence after Mary explained the full situation.

After a few minutes, Triple H finally spoke up. "I know that you want to leave your past behind you, Mary. It's just that I think that the only way to ensure everyone's safety is to turn this scum in. You'll need to go to the authorities down in Tallahassee, and make a full confession."

Mary closed her eyes, exhaling sharply, as she squeezed Ted's hand as she nodded. A few moments went by before she quietly spoke up. "I know. It's the best thing for everyone. The last thing I want is for Ted or one of my friends have harm come to them. Worse yet, he could do something to the boys, and I really can't have that."

"Here's how I see it," Stephanie looked up, "Ted is the new World Heavyweight Champion, and still primarily on the SmackDown roster. He can make his first appearance as champ on that show. We'll let Cody and your brother handle things on RAW tonight. I think that you and Ted should go to Florida today and get it over with."

Mary nodded with a smile. It was great having her three favorite men on top of the company. Three titles changed hands during WrestleMania 30, and if anyone had said that any of them would have a singles title just a year earlier, they would have been laughed at. On top of Ted being WHC, Cody was now the WWE Champion, and Billy Alexander held the Intercontinental Championship. It was like a dream that Mary never wanted to wake up from. Actually, she would have believed it was all a dream had she not received that text after the event had ended. Everything was finally going the way that the fans wanted, and Mary couldn't be happier. Sure, there were still a few people complaining about this and that, but that was just another day as a part of the WWE Universe. Mary was happy, as was everyone who was important to her. She wasn't about to let some jerk take that away from her. She couldn't. Within the next hour, they had everything packed up, leaving the boys with Natalya and Tyson, the plans to be returning before RAW was over. Hopefully, Mary could nip all of this in the bud, before it became something serious.
