chapter 9
Later that afternoon, Tammy had finally got in contact with the lawyer that awaited to speak with her about the inheritance, she must claim. Packing her bag for work and the interview with the lawyer whilst she stood in a towel after showering then soft knocking on the door disturbed her.
"Yes?" she called softly. "Will you be going to school today?" Abby wondered curiously. Tammy resumed packing and gathered fresh clothing to dress in as she replied. "No, I have an appointment."
"What apointment? School is important, Tammy." Abby told her, as she tried to be stern whilst on the other of the door. "I know that but this is more important. And besides, I am old enough to take care of myself."
"I am your guardian." Abby reminded her. "Not anymore. I am legally permitted to live on my own now. And you are not able to stop me, but I do thankyou for all you've done. It is no longer safe here for me. I must leave."
"Where will you go?" abby asked, trying to convince tammy to tell her where she will be going to but she knew that will not happen. "Not sure yet, and it is best you dont know." Tammy informed gently.
"What if something were to happen to you?" abby said, presenting her concern but somewhat control like. "I will manage, I had been taking some self defence classes. I will be fine." Tammy replied. Abby sighed then walked away which tammy was finally relieved, slipping the long black dress on and her shoes then grabbing her belongings and finally left the premises as a cab waited outside. Standing by the window and watched the cab drove away, allowing the curtain down and hid the living room from the outside world as she turned around and leaned against the window frame.
"Dearest?" Abby's husband gently called, as he approached her slowly. Rose her glance and gazed toward her husband as he presented his concern. "Yes, hunny."
"Everything alright?" Brian replied, concerned. Abby nodded and draped her arms around him, tenderly. He too, draped his around Abby's waist and gently pulled her close to comfort. "There is nothing you could have done to keep her here, dear. And she is right, she is legally permitted to live on her own. Tammy has to find her own way now and all we can do is pray she will find whatever she is searching for and stays safe."
Abby exhaled lowly, softly as she agreeably nodded.
Looking out the window as she watched the houses, fly pass. Cradling her cheek within the cusp of her palm and thought about her sister, even her beloved mother. Tears welled up until her cheeks were saturated and drippled down from her jawline then unto the rim of her shirt. Not hearing the driver speak to her at first as she was distracted and lost in thought.
"Miss?" the driver gently called whilst looking through the review mirror above his vision and waited for a reply. "Hmm? Oh, I apologise. I didnt hear you." Tammy finally replied, apologetically.
"That is quite alright, miss. Where would you like to go?" he asked. "Airport please." she answered. "Airport it is." the driver obeyed.
One hour later, finally arrived to the airport entrance. Paying the driver and collected her bags, then booked her flight to Texas until the hearing against her step father and buried both her sister and mother in the family plot. During her flight, she sensed a warming embrace. Accepting the gesture, the comforting embrace whilst she closed her eyes and somewhat had leaned back into the arms that draped around her as she exhaled tenderly and felt safe. Suddenly she drifted to sleep, then begun to dream as the white veil revealed the one place she desired to be once more.
Opening her eyes and looked up to the skies, the beautiful bright blue and green skies as the musical orchestra surrounded throughout the forest as she and her beloved dream lover, embraced her close in his embrace.
"Welcome back my love, remember this place?" Silver whispered tenderly in her ear as he lovingly nuzzled and tightened his embrace. Happily snuggled in his embrace and nuzzled tenderly back as she lovingly purred. "Thankyou, beloved."
Gently lifted her right hand and entwined thier hands as their fingers laced so perfectly. Silver purred happily as he had found his love once again and kissed her cheek. Then whispered as he slipped a opal ring on her finger, opening her eyes and looked up to the beautiful dragon. "What is this?"
He smiled nervously and exhaled tenderly then finally answered. "Will you be my wife?" Tammy glanced up, with shock at first then her emotions changed instantly as she gasped surprised then she finally replied, nodding happily. "Yes, of course. I love you with all of my heart. I will be honored to be your wife."
Silver tearfully smiled, his heart raced with sheer joy and happiness. Caressed her cheek tenderly and kissed her passionately, showed his great pleasure that couldnt be expressed in words. "I am so very happy, my dearest." He whispered loving. Tammy smiled and kissed him tenderly, passionately. As thier foreheads met, glancing into his beautiful golden eyes as he spoke. His voice had suddenly changed, she glanced confused as someone had spoken through him.
"We will be landing momentarily." Once again, she glanced confused and tried to question but then suddendly, another woman's voice spoke. "Miss, please awake up."
Gently shaken by the flight attendant when she finally awoken and sighed, placing her fingers upon her forehead and answered. "Sorry, had we arrived?"
The flight attendant nodded and said. "Yes miss. Would you like anything to eat or drink before landing?"
With a nod and reply. "No thankyou." As the flight attendant left her side, Tammy looked out the window as she saw the world below and immediately connected with the land. With a soft whisper and a pair of warm broken tears that stained her cheeks. "We're home, mom and sister. We're home."
