I pounded out another chapter on vacation! Beware this is unedited! I just loved all your reviews/favs/alerts so much I had to write more! Plus I love Anna so I wanted to keep going!
As for your questions...I may include Katherine in this fic, not sure yet. It would be down the road so we'll see. I will be writing more Delena but there is also a plot so if you're looking for pure smut or anything like that check out my other story. haha!
I own nothing except the words written in this fan fic. No copyright infringement intended.
I watched as Damon roughly grabbed Anna's arm and guided her to the other room.
"What was that about?" Asked Jeremy, looking just as confused as I was.
I frowned. "I don't know. I guess they know each other."
"How would they know each other? Anna is just visiting friends, she doesn't even live in the state."
I pressed my lips together. Something was off. I walked past Jeremy around the corner and into the other room which seemed to be the kitchen, although I can't remember seeing one so large in a lakeside cabin...maybe at the Lockwood's but not here. My jaw dropped to see Damon, shoved against a wall with Anna's tiny hand wrapped around his neck.
"Are we done?" She asked and Damon nodded as best he could with her hand around his throat. Anna quickly stepped back, just as Jeremy walked in behind me. I swear my jaw had to be on the floor. Anna flashed me a dark look and walked past me, taking Jeremy's hand. The two of them walked back into his circle of friends and I turned back to Damon who was rubbing his neck.
"What the hell?" I started.
Damon glared at the empty doorway. "Don't ask."
"Uh, I don't think so." I tossed my head toward the back door, "Come on."
Damon followed me outside, around to a quiet side of the yard. "Is she a?" I couldn't say the word.
Damon nodded.
"Oh God, I have to tell Jeremy."
Damon grabbed my arm before I could take a step. "No Elena. The fewer people know about us the better."
"But he's dating her, Damon." I protested.
"Then he'll find out eventually." He shrugged.
I rose an eyebrow at him. "So why did she have you pinned against a wall? And why is she stronger than you?"
"She's older than me. Older vampire equals stronger vampire and she had me pinned to a wall because she's a bitch."
"That's vague." I glared at him.
"Its complicated Elena." Damon sighed, releasing my arm. I gave him a look and he huffed. "She wants to open the tomb."
"The tomb? The same tomb you decided not to open, the one Katherine could be in?" I questioned.
"Same one." he growled. "Seems her mother is in there."
"Her mom is a, a..."
"You know you're going to need to get used to the word if we're going to be together. You aren't pretending I'm human, are you?"
"No," I grumbled. "I just didn't want to be in public rambling about vampires and tombs. So why does she need to talk to you about this?"
"She was trying to find something that I had in my posession."
"Damon," I was growing frustrated with the lack of specifics. "Can you just tell me what she wanted? Do we have to dance around this?" Before I could breathe my next breath Damon had sped us with his vampire speed to edge of the lake, far away from the party scene. He was still holding me around my waist when I blinked, trying to adjust to the new surroundings. "That's going to take some getting used to." I breathed.
"Anna is looking for the Gilbert journal. She needs it to figure out how to get into that tomb." He explained.
"Oh, the journal I had." I remembered giving it back to Damon the day I finished reading it. "So where is it now?"
"It would be better if you didn't know."
I frowned but knew Damon was probably right. Then it hit me. The Gilbert journal, shit was that why she was seeing Jeremy? "Damon, you don't think that Anna is only being nice to Jeremy in hopes that he might have the journal?"
"Yes, actually I do think that. Typically these things are passed down through the family tree but I took the journal years ago knowing it would come in handy." He proudly smirked.
I looked down, disappointed that Anna wasn't 'real' and that Jeremy was being used. "So what will she do when she finds out he doesn't have it?"
"Probably get bored and move on. Maybe torture me a little more." He looked concerned for the briefest moment and then moved the hair away from my face. "Don't worry. I won't let her near you. She's only after one thing and once she gets that she'll leave town."
"Her mother?" I remembered. "So she's going to open the tomb." The nasty feeling in the pit of my stomach that had disappeared minutes earlier when Damon told me he wouldn't open this stupid tomb had just come back. Great.
"Yeah, if she finds out how she will. But without the journal she can't. So if she doesn't find it the tomb stays closed, simple as that."
I felt a slight sense of relief.
"I need you to go back in the party and act like everything is fine while I find Stefan and fill him in." Damon gave me a squeeze and pulled away, walking toward the back yard.
"I thought you hated him?" I clarified as we walked back toward the house.
"I'm not planning on buying bunk beds with him, I just need to fill him in. Anna probably isn't traveling alone and we'll need to be on alert for a while."
I nodded but didn't answer. Damon was taking all this very seriously so I probably should too...and I didn't like the sound of multiple, thirsty vampires flooding the town. I cringed at the memory of Stefan drinking my blood and didn't want to relive that feeling anytime soon.
"I'll just find Jeremy and hang out until you come back."
Damon gave me a brief smile and disappeared. I walked back into the house and found Anna and Jeremy looking cozy in the kitchen. Anna looked at me suspciously and I met her glare with a wide smile.
"Hey." I greeted them.
"Hey, where'd you disappear to?" Jeremy asked.
"Oh Damon and I, well we're still at that beginning part of the relationship, you know." I lied and faked a blush at the group. There were a few 'ahhh's and I saw Jeremy made a disgusted face. Anna raised an eyebrow. I listened to the group chat about the best parties last summer, the coolest movies that were coming out and other people who hadn't made it to town yet. I was growing seriously bored and more and more worried about Damon when he snuck up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist. I instantly felt safer in his arms, how ironic is that?
"Hey Damon, Anna was telling me you guys used to all live in the same area in Seattle. What a coincidence you'd meet again here." Jeremy said.
"Yep, Anna and I go way back." Damon returned, pulling me closer to him. I could feel every inch of my body pressed against his. So much for slow, I worried in my head as the heat radiated through my body. I put my arms on top of Damon's and mindlessly began running my fingers back and forth over his hands. I heard the slightest growl come from his throat.
"Yeah, how amazing is it that we meet again, here?" Anna grinned but I could tell there wasn't sincerity behind it.
"It was nice meeting all of you but I better head home." I said. I'd had enough partying for one night. I just wanted to return to my cozy bed and process all this tomb stuff. I turned around slightly, still in Damon's firm grip. "Would you mind walking me home?"
"Not at all." He pulled away, keeping one arm around my waist. "Enjoy the party, kids. Use a coaster."
I laughed and waved as he pulled me out the front door. We made it a few feet down the path when Damon turned and pulled me fully into an embrace, placing his lips against mine. I sighed and then whined as the kiss became needy and intense. I pulled away for air and Damon growled.
"You have no idea what you do to me." He spoke, our foreheads pressed together.
I grinned. "I can only imagine its close to what you do to me. And as much as I'd love to make out in the woods with you, its probably not safe."
"Is that an invitation for me to take you somewhere safe and have my way with you?"
I groaned, my body was betraying me. My mind said I should run away or at least hold onto my standards for as long as I could but my body wanted Damon. I imagined all the naughty things we could do together and felt a wave of desire course through my body. I whined again.
"Damon, please don't think for a moment that I don't want you. Trust me, I do but I meant what I said, I don't want to rush into this."
Damon politely smiled and took my hand, walking me all the way back to my cabin while keeping a distance between our wanting bodies. Damon asked me questions about myself, my life in Mystic Falls and I spilled everything. It was nice to have somone to talk to who didn't just want to ask about my parents or worry about how I was taking things. I felt like I might actually be gaining ground on this fresh start I was working toward. We arrived at our lakehouse and John peeked out the window. I rolled my eyes.
"Gilberts have never been good at being subtle." Damon laughed.
"Or keeping boundaries." I scoffed. "I'm so sick of him acting like he can tell me what to do."
"He just doesn't want you around vampires. It really has nothing to do with you."
"You think he knows about vampires?" I whispered.
"Yeah, I'd bet on it. The guy reeks of vervain, he isn't just playing the protective guardian." Damon eyed the house.
"Well that explains a lot." I sighed. "I'm not about to confront him though, just in case."
Damon shrugged. "Not like it would make a difference. Would it?"
I laughed. "Nope, you can't get rid of me. Vampire." I smirked and Damon pulled me in for a brief, PG kinda kiss. "Goodnight. I'll give you a call tomorrow. We'll hang out or something."
"I like the sound of that or something." He grinned.
"Clean thoughts Salvatore." I wagged my finger at him as I walked toward the house.
"Not possible." He shook his head.
I narrowed my eyes at him and laughed. "We'll work on it." I turned and headed into the house after winking at my gorgeous vampire and waving goodnight.
Ok, I was nice. No cliffhangers but also nothing naughty. Sorry. Not time yet. ;)
The next update will be on Sunday at the earliest...thanks for reading!
