Hi! I'm too lazy to wait for 20 reviews so I'm just going to write. Cause writing is fun.
Jayfeather ran really fast for one who was blind. He dashed through the clearing and into the forest like his tale was on fire. He jumped over logs and puddles with an agility I never thought he possessed. It seemed he knew Starclan by heart, he probably did.
I trailed behind the grey cat I-don't-know how long, but once my paws really started to ache, Jayfeather came to a halt. I regained my breath before turning to Jayfeather.
"Are we there?" I croaked. Jayfeather nodded then pointed to a huge bush with his tail.
"I'd rather not go in with you; he can be kind of temperamental. And he doesn't really like me that much." Jayfeather said.
I stared at the bush, a horrible feeling settling in my stomach. I took a deep breath and walked into the leaves.
The meeting with the cat actually went better than I thought it would. I don't know why Jayfeather said Gray Wing was temperamental, because he was quite kind to me
He listened to my story, and stayed silent for a moment. Finally he looked up at me.
"Look, I've heard of hosts before, but I never heard of one taking another's body. I would really like to help you, but, I just don't have enough knowledge in that area." He said kindly, "Maybe another cat can help you."
I walked out of the bush, dragging my paws and tail on the floor.
"I'm guessing it didn't go well…" Jayfeather said. I glared at him and he simply sighed. "Well, don't worry, Starclan is huge, I'm sure there's one cat out here that can help you!" and he leapt to his feet and started running in a different direction. Oh joy.
We talked to at least 5 different cats, but none of them had an answer or advice. Even Jayfeather was starting to have trouble finding who to ask next.
"This is getting annoying," I mumbled, "Can't we just give it a night?"
Jayfeather ignored me. He was muttering something under his breath, until a light lit in his eyes, "I think I know who can help us!"
I looked at him expectantly, "Who?"
He stared at the distance for a moment, "Not a clan cat, but a -uh- close friend of mine."
"Very well then, how do we get there?"
Jayfeather thought for a moment. He looked up at me, "I think that I can transport us both to their 'Starclan'"
I shrugged, "Okay then, give it a go." I had a feeling this was going to be another lost cause though.
After Jayfeather finally figured out how to change the place of his dreams (I would've thought he figured that out when he could go in other people's dreams) he easily moved us to a cave.
The cave itself was beautiful, the entrance was covered by flowing water, which only let the light come out in sparkles. There were spikes coming down from the top of the cave few long enough that I could touch.
While I admired the cave, Jayfeather looked around, as if to search for someone. Now that I realized it, the place wasn't completely infested by cats, like our Starclan. Jayfeather took a few uneasy steps.
"Half Moon?" He called out. The name echoed around the cave, sending a shiver down my spine. I looked around for any sign of a cat in my surroundings, but the cave was empty. Well, at least that's what I thought.
"Jay's Wing!" Someone called out. I looked at Jayfeather. Eagerness appeared in his eyes and he rushes foreward to meet the cat half-way. They happily greet each other. I stared blankly at them. Close friend? Yeah right.
"Ahem." I said, politely of course. Half-Moon looked over at me, her gaze hardened.
"Who is this?" She whispers in a menacing tone to Jayfeather.
"Half-Moon, this is Rubyflame. A friend of mine." He stated. I inwardly laugh at the look on his face.
"Oh."
I gave her my best smile, "Jayfeather here thinks you can help me with, uh, a problem of mine." Half Moon looked over at Jayfeather, and then quickly returned her gaze on me.
"Of course, tell me what is going on."
I told the story for the hundredth time by now (probably) and she stayed silent for a while. Then she whispered something in Jayfeathers ear. He hesitates before nodding.
Half Moon turned back towards me, smiling, "I think I can help you."
Hey! Sorry, this chapter is a bit of a filler, not too much going on…
So, to get you guys to participate a little more, why don't you review ideas about what Half Moon is going to tell Rubyflame? Also, do you want Rubyflame to be with Robinpaw (oh, give me names for him, :) and also Windpaw) or Eagleflight? I originally wanted her to be with Eagleflight, but now I'm kind of tempted to put her with Robinpaw… Well, tell me what you think!
-Heart of Rubies, OUT!
