Revenge
Chapter 10.
The next morning as she wakes up Tony kisses the top of her head and says "Morning sleepy head." She slips back up from lying on his chest, they kiss and she says "Good morning and thank you." He asks her "For what?" She replies with a smile "For making last night so special." He replies "I promised you that I would make it special and I think it helped because that was the best nights sleep that you've had." "I think that was & I love you very much." They then kiss again and as they break apart he says "& I love you too, but we'd better make a move before your dad comes knocking on the door to come and get you for your investigating the site." She replies "I think I'd better. Are you going to come with us? I know that you can't come down to the area we want to check, but will you come with us if it's not going to be too boring for you?"
He answers "I will do if you want me too & I'll be ok."
She says "I would like you too, because if this goes the way we think it might go. I know that it won't be quite closure yet, but it's going to bring me enough closure to at least say goodbye to my marriage and hello to my new life with you."
He replies "Which will be a really good thing. & I promise you that I will never ever hurt you and all of us will be happy together." They then kiss for a final time before finally getting up.
After having some breakfast they all head off to the site together, leaving Tony in the car she & Gibbs head to the path that will take them to the area they're going too be searching. As they head down the path they realize that it is going too be as difficult as they thought it would be to get there. Especially when they end up rescuing each other a few times as they slip and slide & nearly go over. When they get near the bottom of the slope because of the momentum they've picked up she ends up sliding & is only saved from going over flat out by Gibbs grabbing hold of her, although she does still end up on her ass instead and as she gets up again she says "Thanks dad." As they make their way into the area itself she brushes the dirt off of herself and she then says "So where do you think we should start searching?" He takes off his backpack and starts putting something together as he answers "I think that we should start off by the lake and then go over as far as that single tree. As there's probably a chance that if he buried the body near the tree and it was a young one, he guessed that nothing would get found with the growth of the tree and it's roots. Which is why I've got this machine." She asks "What is it?" He answers "It's like an x-ray, & hopefully should be able to tell us if there's anything there." She replies "Ok I'll start doing something while you're getting that set up." She does so & starts to shift leaves out of the way & starts to dig down and only moves to a new spot when she hits a root. As she keeps going she eventually comes across a single bone so she calls out to him "Dad I think I've got something." He joins her and looks at it before saying to her "That's definitely a bone, photograph it, bag and tag just in case it's a bone that we might need. Go careful in case you come across any more. I'm nearly done here with the setting up of this, so we can check there with it." She then carries on carefully with a trowel and as she gets further down she keeps coming across small bones which she keeps photographing, bagging and tagging. Once he's done with the machine he says"Ok I'm done here, before I come over there let's do a test." When he does so they can see fish bones and things under the surface. They then take it over to where she's been digging & nothing shows up. So she takes things a bit further then when they go over the ground again they finally see a skeleton appear. As she carries on going with the trowel he says "Let's just hope that this is going to be him, I'll go & call Bishop, McGee and Ducky, as I have a feeling that we might get on a bit quicker with some help. You give Tony a call so that he can warn them when they get here about how bad the path down here is when they get here." As he goes a few paces away she goes to stand at the edge of the lake as she does her call to Tony, when he answers she explains about what they've found & that Gibbs is calling the others in. So when they turn up can he warn them about how bad the path down is. He says he will & is she ok. She says she's ok but will probably have a bruised butt because of the way she slid onto it at the bottom of the slope, although it could've been worse if Gibbs hadn't saved her. When she says "If this does turn out to be him, I can't believe that we were right with our hunch."
He replies "I told you that you've inherited your dad's gut feeling, but I also think it was us also going back over things with basic police work."
She then adds with a smile "Plus us also being a great partnership."
He says quietly "I think I can believe that." After a short pause she then says "Me too. Anyway I'd better get back to digging this skeleton up, although I do have a feeling that I might be feeling this by tonight."
He replies "I promise you that if you do then I will do you a special bath and massage tonight when we get back, which should make you feel better."
She says "That sounds great & there might be a special thank you for it afterwards as well."
He replies in a sexy voice "Is that a promise?"
She answers "It might be!" After that they then say "Goodbye and I love you." To one another before she goes back to join Gibbs.
By the time the others arrive between herself and Gibbs they've managed to get the skull, neck and some of the shoulders uncovered. They also guess when they've arrived when they start to hear shouting with them struggling down. As they start coming into sight she notices that Bishop is about to do exactly as she did at the bottom of the slope, so she rushes over and manages to save her. Bishop thanks her and they then get joined by Gibbs who helps the others because of them having equipment with them.
With having the others there they soon find that they get on pretty quickly. They soon get to a stage where they can see bullet wounds in the skeleton, Ducky says that it was most probably the cause of death, but they won't know until they've run tests back in the lab. Once they get to a point where they're able to remove the skeleton out of the way they continue with the digging just in case they manage to find any more evidence that may have been left there. As they do so they manage to find bullets, part of a driving licence and also a gun. When Gibbs looks at it he finds that there are four bullets missing & that the serial number is still intact, which should make it easier for them to track who the owner was. He then says that they should call it a day. Because of the position she's been in while digging she struggles to get up so he pulls her up. When they get back to the path again he makes her go in front first, just in case of having to save her again, although it is a lot easier for them going back up than it was going down. Although as they get near the top the tiredness starts to hit her, so he puts his arm round her to help. When they finally get there with having seen the others Tony has got out of the car, so he goes over and gives her a hug before they all get into the car. As they head back to the hotel Gibbs says that they'll head back in the morning to see if they can find anything else. While they're driving back the tiredness overtakes her and she ends up falling asleep. She's also still so out of it when they get back to the hotel, she doesn't even stir when Gibbs gets her out of the car and then take her to she & Tony's room to lay her on the bed.
When she wakes up a couple of hours later, with Tony having joined her on the bed, during her sleep she turned over to sleep in his arms and is still there. When he realizes that she's awake he kisses the top of her head. As she then goes to stretch herself out she says "Ow!" & he then asks "I think that the stiffness from the digging has set in, but it's so good to have woken up in your arms." He replies "& I'm glad you've woken up here too. But I guess from the way that you crashed out that today has been a tiring day."
She replies "I think it has been. In a way I'm glad that we have found something, now of course we've got the wait to find out if it's him or not. But I do have a feeling that it most probably is. I know that you will be a really great father to the kids. If we get Simon for this & it's all over completely, I'm just worrying about how to explain everything to them."
He says to her "Don't worry about it, we'll both find a way of doing it together when the time comes. Because from now on you're all now my responsibility and I'm here to love & take care of you all, as well as any more that we might have together when that time comes & I do love you very much." She then kisses him and says "& I love you too." They then start kissing again. But as his hands start to wander and she moves with hurting herself causing her to say "Ow!" Once again. He breaks them apart and says "Right that's it, I'm getting you this bath that I promised you." She replies "Thank you and can I have a cup of tea as well?" He answers as he gives her a peck on the lips "I think I might be able too do that."
After having the bath and cup of tea, she comes out of the bathroom with a dressing gown on to find Tony lying on the bed, as he sees her he says "Does that feel better?"
She replies "It does thank you as I certainly feel a bit more human now."
He says with a slightly cheeky look on his face and holds out his hand for her to take as he sits up "Well let's see if I can make you feel even more human." As she smiles at him she replies "& how do you propose too do that?" With the hand he's got hold of he then pulls her towards him, he then lets go of her hand and undoes the belt on the dressing gown and slips it off her. After giving her a kiss he then gets her to lie on the bed and then gives her the gorgeous massage that he'd promised her. After then finally having something to eat via room service, they just have a quiet night before having an early night!
A/N: Here we go with another update from me, I know things have happened, but really it's just a filler before we start getting towards the end! Also just want to clarify that the area is close enough for the others to get there and help them, but is too far away for Gibbs, Tony and Charlie to get home aagain so that's why they stayed at the hotel! Also I apologize for any mistakes I've made with procedure stuff, as I was just really trying to find a way of them getting to this point!
