A/N –Are you guys ready to ROCK?! … No? That's okay! Hahaha! I hope you guys enjoy this chapter! And OC-FREE Dinosaur mentioned that Silver curses a lot and in case anyone else is curious, here's my response to her as to why Silver curses a lot!
"Yeah, Silver does curse A LOT but that's how I imagine him. In the game he's only, what 10 years old? In this he's 16 and I imagine him as a guy who gives little to no fucks and won't mind hurting others! I also kinda seem him as a badass of sorts who doesn't have a filter at all, so cursing is just second nature to him lolxD. morbid? Not really. Fun to write? Hell yeah!"
Oh and Kelsey! Demyx will appear soon.

Chapter 9 – Silver's Business Trip
Lyra glanced around the place. She was utterly confused. Silver had told her this morning that they'd be going to the police station to tell them what happened yesterday – but why were they at a train station? Lyra fumbled with the hem of her long sleeves. Silver sent a glare her way and she focused on the dull colored flooring. She traced each scuff mark with her eyes, trying her best to understand the situation. Where they going to ride the train to the police station? But if that was the case why were they waiting for a train going to Goldenrod? They was a police station right down the road – but it wasn't like Lyra was going to just leave. Silver was the only one around right now and she didn't want to take the chance of being on her own, especially after what happened yesterday.
Lyra glanced up at Silver and noticed he was idling by the management office. She wasn't sure what he was up too – he had waken her up at the crack of dawn and dragged her butt down to the train station, telling her to not worry about anything. She really didn't 'get it' but what was there to get? She shook her head. It wasn't like she really had a choice to ask him a thousand questions – Silver didn't have the patience or the time for it.
Lyra grimaced as she glanced at a clock on the wall. They had been here for several hours! Lyra sighed and wandered over to Silver. He shot her a nasty glower but she just leaned against the wall with him. Silver huffed, causing Lyra to raise an eyebrow.
"It's gonna be about another thirty minutes till we can board a train to Goldenrod," Silver spat out, trying his best to keep himself clam. Lyra sighed with him and started to stare off into the distance. She wasn't too keen on having to go to Goldenrod – more like; she didn't like being dragged to Goldenrod. She still didn't know why they were going to Goldenrod and she bit her lip.
"Uhm… S-Silver," Lyra mumbled out, twiddling her fingers. Silver glanced over at Lyra, glowering at her as if she had disturbed him.
"I w-was j-just curious as to w-"
"Because we are. Be quiet and just follow me or I'll hit you, get it? Good," Silver spat out, making sure to put Lyra's voice down. Lyra grimaced and frowned. She just wanted to know why! He didn't have to be a jerk about it. Lyra slid down the wall, leaning her head on her knees and took a deep breath. It wasn't like she didn't trust Silver – she just hadn't been anywhere else other than her hometown and Cherrygrove for high school for the last three years. She wasn't ready to go to a crowded place like Goldenrod. Lyra started to curl her hands until she felt something tap her head. She glanced up, fear flowing from her eyes. Silver's face was only a few inches away and he had a softer look in his eyes.
"…Are you okay?" Silver questioned, raising an eyebrow. Lyra took a deep breath and held her face. She couldn't hold it back anymore – the tears of her fear started pouring down her face. Silver clicked his tongue off the roof of his mouth and sighed loudly.
"What the fuck is wrong now?" He asked irritated, glowering at Lyra, as if she had no right to be upset. Lyra bawled into her hands, not taking into account of all the other people staring at her. Silver sighed loudly. Lyra felt her body jolt as Silver picked her up and started to carry her bridal style. She let her hands drift around Silver's neck and nuzzled against Silver chest. She cried deeply into his chest and she reassured her by giving her a light squeeze. She noted how muscular he was built and how warm he was. His warmth embraced her, calming her down a bit. She took a deep breath and basked in his pleasant scent. It reminded her of the forest nearby – It was a mossy dew smell that reminded her of the forest in the morning. She took another deep breath, inhaling the scent she found precious.
The forest was her special place – her home away from home. She loved going to the forest because it cleared her thoughts and freed her from the hectic voice in her head. She felt Silver's hold on her loosen and she clung onto him. Being held like this really calmed her down – she wasn't ready to let go. She heard Silver sigh loudly.
"Come on, let go. Ride is over. The train should be here in about fifteen minutes – so get off and compose yourself, moron," Silver growled out, trying his best to pull Lyra off of his neck. Lyra finally let go and plopped down on the bench. Silver raised an eyebrow as he sat down right next to her. He ran a hand through his
"Well, thank the lord you're done crying. It was pretty fucking annoying, listening to you wail about nothing. Whatever you were crying over, just stop letting it get to you. For God's sake, how the hell does Ethan put up with this all the time…" Silver trailed off at the end. He stood up and started pacing, thinking while Lyra just sat there and stared into space. She wasn't as afraid now. She had Silver with her – and he was tough as hell! Lyra sighed in relief and glanced over at the clock. They still had about ten minutes till the train came. Lyra looked over at Silver and saw him over at a snack machine. She watched him buy two drinks. She turned and noticed her staring at him. He held up two sodas and grinned.
"Thirsty?" He asked, tossing her a drink. Lyra caught the beverage, almost dropping it. Silver plopped down next to her and took a large gulp of his drink. Lyra took a small sip of her drink and couldn't help but jump a bit at how carbonated the drink was. Silver raised an eyebrow while Lyra took another sip and couldn't help but giggle. The carbonated drink tickled the back of her throat and she couldn't hold her laughter in anymore. She started to laugh a bit more and had a large smile on her face. Silver spit out his drink, causing Lyra to stop giggling. He stared at her face in total shock and she curled her hands into fists.
"W-what?" Lyra asked, lowering her drink down from her face. Silver just grinned and shook his head. He patted her on the back and laughed, startling her a bit. Lyra looked over at Silver, unsure of why he was acting like this. Silver took another large gulp of his drink and sighed afterwards. He looked over at the clock and stood up, ignoring to answer Lyra's question.
"Train is gonna be here in like three minutes. Let's head to the platform, Lyra," Silver said, sticking his hand out towards Lyra. Lyra raised an eyebrow – did he want to hold her hand? Lyra bit her lip and shifted nervously where she sat. Silver pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed.
"I'm not trying to be fucking romantic or anything – I don't wanna lose you in the large as fuck crowd. I mean look, there's already a large group near the platform. So take my goddamn hand or I'm leaving you to get lost in the damn crowd," Silver growled out, sticking his hand out again. Lyra grabbed his hand gently, allowing herself to be pulled up. Silver started to drag her a bit, forcing her to speed up. She eventually was in sync with Silver's quick feet and didn't get lost in the crowd. Once they were in the train, Silver rushed her towards the back of the train, forcing her to sit down quickly.
"Now don't fucking move, and hold my seat. Don't let any of these motherfuckers sit. Got it? Good. If I come back and find out someone is in my seat, I'll hit you," Silver roared out, talking over the loud crowd with ease. Lyra just shook her head, agreeing to whatever Silver had to say. She watched him storm off into the crowd, making his way to the front of the train. Lyra bit her lip. She was starting to feel overwhelmed by being left alone – but Silver would be back in a few minutes and knowing that was enough to keep her somewhat calm. She started to play with her hair when she heard someone plop down next to her. She turned and looked, only to see an older man sitting next to her.
She felt her heart skip a beat and bit into her lip harder.
"Uhm… E-excuse me…" Lyra mumbled out until the man hung his arm off her shoulders and pulled her in close. He placed his other hand on her leg. Lyra froze, her pupils shrinking and breathing stopped. The man chortled, and leaned his lips towards Lyra's ear.
"Well aren't you just the cutest girl ever. Why don't we have a little fun? It's so crowded here that no one will notice," The man cooed out, rubbing Lyra's leg. She shirked a bit, only to be silenced by the man's hand.
"Come on, cutie. No one will notice us – heck we could just get off and head back to my pl-"
"N-no! Let me go!" Lyra tried to cry out, only to once again be silence by the older man. She started to move only to be restraint by the man. He pulled out a rag from his bag pocket and smashed it against Lyra's face. Lyra quickly held her breath and squeezed her eyes shut.
"Oh G-God! S-S-Some O-one he-elp me!" Lyra thought, as she started to panic even more. She tried escaping once more only to be held back in place. The man grinned and ran one of his hands down Lyra's back. Lyra shivered in fear, making the older man to smirk.
"Come on cutie, just let it happen – we're gonna have so much fun later," The man breath out into Lyra's ear. Lyra cringed at his warm breath when it touched her ear. She felt so humiliated and just wanted Silver to save her like he always had before. She felt her chest tighten up and started to get light headed – she couldn't do this for much longer. As the seconds continued to tick on, Lyra started getting light headed even more. She felt her body start to go limp, and her vision going black. She needed to breath but if she did…
"Lyra! You sick son of a bitch!" Silver roared out, pouncing the man, punching him square in the jaw. The older man fell backwards, releasing Lyra and dropping the rag. Lyra took a deep breath and started to cry while Silver literally beat the shit out of her attacker. Silver kicked the older man in the gut, turning him around, and punched him in the face continually. Silver grabbed the man by the shirt and stared him down with the most deadly death stare he could muster.
"If you ever, ever touch Lyra again, I'll hunt you down and murder you in the most painfully slow way I could think of – and trust me, you old motherfucker, my imagination is quiet sadistic and I won't hold back anything. Got it? GOT IT?!" Silver shouted out, silencing the whole train. Everyone stared in horror as Silver head butted the older man, stood up and started to beat the man again. The man hollered out in pain while Silver roared out, punching and kicking the old man with everything he had. After a few more minutes, the nearby police arrived and had to break Silver of the old man. Lyra ran to Silver, hugging him tight, while Silver patted her on the head and started to shush her.
"Shh, it's okay, Lyra. I'm here now, it's fine. I'm sorry I left you behind by yourself, Lyra. Shh…" Silver continued to apologize while Lyra kept crying into his chest. Silver sat down and held Lyra, reassuring her that everything was okay. Lyra nuzzled her face into his chest and hung off of him. She knew everything would be okay now but she was still terrified. What would of happened if Silver didn't come when he did? She didn't even want to think about it. She looked Silver in the eyes.
"C-Can w-we just g-g-go home pl-lease?" Lyra asked, trying her best to stop crying. Silver closed his eyes for a moment.
"I'm sorry, but we can't. The train has already taken off and we're close to Goldenrod, to be honest. Just stay by me, Lyra. I won't let anything else happen – I promise," Silver whispered into her ear, trying his best to calm her down. Lyra took a deep breath, inhaling the scent she loved dearly. Being around Silver really did calm her down. He was a total jerk at times, insulting her for things she couldn't help but she also knew how to be a kind and caring friend – she finally had someone else other than Ethan to depend on. It wasn't like she hated Ethan or anything; she was just feeling awful because she had brought him down. He lost a lot of his friends, he was kicked out of the soccer team and even started to basically babysit her – and she felt guilty about it. But now that Silver was here, she didn't have to just depend on Ethan anymore.
Lyra sighed. She knew she was weak and she hated the fact she was dependent on others – but she simply couldn't help it. It wasn't like she was milking the whole situation. She truly was hurt and needed a true friend to be there for her – and she wanted Ethan to have a break from it. Lyra sighed once more. She knew she couldn't be dependent on them forever – she'd have to get stronger one day. She just wasn't too sure on how she could become strong. She looked up at Silver. He looked down at her.
"Silver… C-could you help me be-ecome strong?" Lyra asked, moving and sitting right next to Silver. Silver sighed.
"I don't know. I can help you try – but you gotta do what I say, got it?" Silver spat out, crossing his arms. Lyra hesitated for a second and then shook her head, saying 'okay'. Silver grinned.
"After we're done in Goldenrod, I'll start helping you out. Got it?" Silver said, stretching out his arms and yawning. Lyra gave Silver a small smile.
"I can't wait," Lyra said, beaming with joy. She couldn't help but smile because Silver was going to help her become strong. She clenched her hands together. She would become stronger – she would lose her dependence on other people.
She would become her old self.
After a few minutes, the train came to a halt and the two walked off, following the flow of the crowd to exit the train station. Once they were finally in town, Lyra stared in amazement. The town radiated with a warm golden glow, making everything seem livelier. The tall buildings towered over head but didn't darken the place with a dark shadow. They complimented the area and were painted brilliant colors that enhanced the sun's warm rays. The streets were lined with small garden plots that overflowed with beautiful colors – colors that even put rainbows to shame. Lyra's mouth fell a little when she noticed a small shop dedicated to gardening. She started to walk over; completely ignoring that Silver was with her. Silver hollered at her but she was too enthralled by the shop. She waltzed right in and started to look at everything – from tools to seeds, she simply loved it.
It reminded her of the forest. Lyra sighed – she actually hadn't visited the forest in a while. She didn't really know why either. Maybe it was because she had always been hanging out with Ethan and Silver now. She shook her head and decided she'd have to visit the forest after they get back home.
"Excuse me, are you looking for anything in particular?" asked a gentle voice. Lyra turned and was greeted by a warm smile from a rather thin brunette woman. She smiled and Lyra just stared at her.
"I-I'm just l-looking…" Lyra mumbled out, looking at the floor. The woman gave a light chuckle before replying.
"I see, well if you need anything, just come and ask me," the women said as she walked off back to the counter. Lyra glanced around and noticed she left Silver behind. As she made her way out of the store, Silver spotted her.
"There you are! Why the fuck did you run off?!" Silver seethed, trying his best not to verbally attack Lyra because of today's awful event. Lyra grimaced.
"I-I'm sorry…" Lyra said, looking down at the ground and biting her lip. Silver pinched the bridge of his nose. He sighed and started walking off, demanding for her to follow him. Lyra trailed after Silver, trying her best to stay close to him – she didn't want to hold him back and make him even angrier. After a few minutes, they walked down into an underground area. Lyra's nose cringed to the scent of trash. Where ever they were it obviously wasn't the cleanest place around. Silver turned quickly, making sure that Lyra was still behind him.
"Stay close, Lyra," Silver said, beckoning for her to catch up with him. She raced up to him and stayed still. After a few seconds, Silver sighed.
"Alright, you stay here. I need to do something real quick. Then we'll go home," Silver whispered out. Lyra watched him walk down a shady hallway and enter a room that had a huge metal door. Curious, she crept down the hallway and leaned an ear against the door, trying her best to listen for anything. After a few seconds, she started to hear Silver talk – though she was only able to make out some parts.
"…I'm being serious. They've started to… No, I don't think that'd be wise… Well if you think so… dead wrong, honestly." Lyra plugged her other ear and strained to listen as another deeper voice started talking.
"…We don't get the opportunity to attack them directly like this. If they're nearby, dispose of the quickly, Silver. I'm growing tired of your excuses. Do the job correctly – you already know what's up for grabs. So stop beating around the bush, Silver. Get the shit done." The voice roared out. The owner of the voice banged his fist off a table, or something, causing Lyra to jump a bit. She froze, hoping she didn't make any noise. To her surprise, they apparently didn't hear her. She leaned against the door once more and listened in. This time another voice jumped into the mix – and it sounded familiar to her for some reason. Lyra tried to picture a face to match the voice but she, for the life of her, couldn't.
" Silver, can you please update me on the situation later? I feel like we have a guest at the door," The voice said. Lyra jumped and held her breath. She quickly bolted back down the hallway and waited where Silver told her too. Within seconds, the door opened up and out came Silver, charging at her with a furious look.
"You weren't eavesdropping were you?!" Silver asked, furrowing his brow together. Lyra shook her head frantically, denying the truth. Silver stared her down and after a few seconds, he sighed.
"Tsk. Whatever. Just fucking wait here for a few more minutes. And don't move. I'll hit you, got it?" Silver spat out quickly and made his way back into the room. A few more seconds later, Lyra snuck back down the hallway and started to eavesdrop again. She just wanted to know why she was dragged all the way here for. She was able to focus on Silver's voice.
"…That's why I'm here. I'm just asking for that in return – that's all. I understand I'm supposed to do it all by myself but I need some support. Can't we just have a few others on watch? I mean, why can't he just do this himself. He'd actually do way better than I could ever do I mean he's –"
"Silver, you're naïve. You don't get the position he's in at the moment. He's currently looking for -."
"I don't give a single fuck about what he's looking for! He needs to start doing what I've been telling him to do since the beginning of this whole damn mission. I don't get why it's so fucking hard for him to just back –"
"Because, you're not here to understand. You're here to do what the fuck we tell you to and you need to fucking do it when we say so. I'll get you some support since apparently we can't fucking depend on you—"
"I didn't say I fucking failed the mission, did I? I just need some god damn help. I can't be sitting there twenty-four seven, dedicating all my time and effort to this mission. My God, I can barely stand five fucking minutes –"
"You're obviously fucking lying about that last part, and if it requires you to spend all your time on it, so be it. I am not in the goddamn mood to listen to you bitch about something that requires you to put effort in. You were hired because - "
"I know why! I just can't handle all of it all on my own! I just came to ask for some goddamn support!"
"And I said we'd get you that 'goddamn support'. Now shut the fuck up, check in with the leader and update him. He wants to know all about the progress of 'P.L.' – because we all know how dear this mission is to him."
"Tsk. Alright, sir." Silver seethed out. Lyra heard footsteps echo in the background. She shook her head. What in the hell did she just hear? Lyra started walking back down the hallway and leaned against the wall where Silver told her to wait. She tapped her foot off the ground and bit her lip. She had no absolute clue as to what Silver and those guys were talking about. She sighed as Silver appeared from the hallway.
"Well, I'm all done here, Lyra. We can go back home now. Thanks for accompanying me," Silver said, walking ahead of her. Lyra followed behind him, trying her best to keep up. Lyra was chasing after him until a flash stopped her. She stopped and looked around, not able to find the source of where the flash came from. Confused, Lyra started after Silver again, blaming the flash on her poor mental state. A man walked out from a hidden door, holding a camera. He looked down at the picture of Lyra and smiled.
"…She just keeps getting bigger, doesn't she?"
