Steve, Danny, Jenna and Kono stood on the steps of the Palace, watching as Chin and his new partner walked out, dressed in their HPD uniforms, and headed for the bright, shiny new police cruiser they had been assigned to.
"I can't believe he gave us up for a title," Kono sighed as she watched, heart broken by her cousin's betrayal.
"He did what he had to do to get you out of jail and save your reputation," Danny sighed.
"He's got our backs, if we need him," Steve stated unsure of what he was say. "Right, he does, doesn't he?" he asked as he eyed Danny.
"I hope so," Danny sighed, "come on, we have work to do and the new Governor isn't going to deal with our tardiness." He added and headed back into the Palace.
"Are you going to be ok?" Jenna asked as she stopped and stood beside Kono.
"He's my best friend, my big brother, and I never thought he would ever do something like this," Kono sobbed as she fell into Jenna's arms.
"He has his reasons, Kono, he wont be gone forever," Jenna said and hugged Kono reassuringly.
"I don't want to do this job without him," Kono sighed as she dried her tears, "it's not worth it anymore."
"Things will get better," Jenna sighed, "Don't give up."
Kono sighed, nodded her agreement, and followed Jenna back into the Palace.
