"So, Miss Choudhary, what are you hoping for?" The doctor asked her with a smile.

Mara replied "A heartbeat."

Trudy chuckled, hiding her laughter under her hair, looking at her son, who was laughing with her. The doctor smiled. "So you don't mind whether the baby's a boy or girl?"

"No, I just want it alive." She smiled.

Trudy gave her a proud smile. Her son gurgled and strained to get to his sister. "Stay here, Casper. Come here, my squirming little boy."

He gurgled "Mawa, Mawa!"

"No Mara, baby. Mara's busy. She's finding out if you're getting a little niece or nephew."

"You're her mother?" The doctor asked, shocked.

"I certainly am." A proud Trudy smiled.

"I thought you ladies were sisters." Mara's doctor grinned.

Casper burbled "Mama, why Mawa thewe?"

Trudy kissed her son's forehead. "Because, baby, Mara's seeing her baby."

Casper giggled. The doctor said "Well, Miss Choudhary, do you want to know?"

Mara smiled. "Yeah, go on."

"It's a boy." Her doctor told her.

"Well?" Jasper asked when his wife and children got home.

Trudy squeaked "You tell!" She pushed Mara to her father.

Mara smiled "Yeah, OK. Dad, you'll never guess it."

"Probably not, so you'll have to tell me." He told her, smiling.

Mara grinned "You're getting a grandson!"

Jasper smiled while his wife squealed happily, hugging their son, who was squealinng and turning blue. "That's wonderful, Mara. Trudy, let him go, he's suffocating." He took his son out of Trudy's crushing grip.

Jerome asked "Whose baby is it, Mara?"

Mara turned and swallowed. "Jerome. Uh, well, it's..."
