Song: When the Darkness Comes by Colbie Calliat

The white light fades from Ash's eyes.

"Dawn? Dawn!" Ash stands up and rushes to the figure laying on the floor.

The rest of the group quickly rushes over.

"Oh my gosh! Is she alright?" Iris's voice echoes.

Ash stands up and glances around. The upside down buildings and fog surround him. Darkrai and Cresselia are nowhere to be seen.

"We should hurry back. We have to take her to the Pokemon Center. I hope they know how to treat her," Cynthia says sadly.

Ash takes Dawn in his arms and together, the group makes their way back to the normal world. Once they arrive at the Pokemon Center, Nurse Joy takes Dawn into a room.

Dawn opens her eyes and shies away from the fluorescent lights.

"What's going on?" She thought.

A grunt escapes her throat and Ash comes into the room.

"Dawn! You're awake!" Ash hugs her and a crazy smile spreads across his face.

"Dawn? My name is not Dawn, is it?" She mumbles.

"It is..." Ash answers as he sits on the bed.

"That's a pretty name. Dawn," she says.

"Nurse Joy!" Ash calls, noticing something is wrong.

"Yes?" Nurse Joy says, opening the door slightly.

"Is Dawn okay? I don't think she remembers anything," Ash says.

Dawn looks out the window with blank eyes.

"I will do some check ups on her. Please wait outside," Nurse Joy says.

Ash stands up and slowly goes out of the room. Outside, Piplup looks through the window.

"Pip?" Piplup says.

"She can't seem to remember anything..." Ash says worried as he leans against the windows.

After a while, Nurse Joy comes out.

"It seems like she has amnesia. She must have been injured pretty badly. She should be fine, her memory will come back as time passes," Nurse Joy concludes as Ash darts back into the room.

"Dawn?" Ash says.

Dawn keeps her eyes on the white sheets as she plays with the strings on her dress.

"Do you know my name?" Ash approaches the bed.

Dawn refuses to answer.

"Do you remember my name?!" Ash suddenly takes Dawn by the shoulders.

"No."

"You should remember me."

"I don't."

"Look at me!"

Dawn looks up and he sees the tears in her eyes.

"I don't remember anything! Go away!" She shouts.

Ash backs up and slowly leaves the room. Dawn keeps her eyes fixated on the ceiling. She plays with her hair and looks at it. Her hair is a beautiful shade of sapphire, but the ends are gray. She frowns.

There is a knock at the door. Without waiting for an answer, Ash comes in. He sees Dawn sitting on the bed with her traveling clothes on.

"Would you like a glass of water?" Ash reveals a tray with a glass behind him.

She nods and drinks a few sips of water.

"Thank you. What's your name?" She inquires, standing up.

"My name is Ash," he answers.

"What's mine?" She says.

"Dawn," he answers.

She puts the cup back on the tray.

"Would you like to go on a walk?"

"Sure." Dawn loops her arm through Ash's and they go out into the main area.

"Dawn!" Iris runs towards the two.

Dawn looks at her.

"We're going on a walk," Ash quickly says and walks away from Iris who is giggling.

Ash slowly nudges open the door and takes Dawn outside. The wind slams into them and Dawn teeters to the side.

"I got you," Ash grins, tightening the grip on her hand.

They walk for a while and end up sitting on a park bench.

"The sky is beautiful," Dawn glances up at the purplish and orange sky.

Ash smiles, listening intently.

"The flowers smell very nice."

Piplup comes running out of the Pokemon Center towards the bench.

"Piplup! Piplup!" Piplup hops into Dawn's lap as she shies away from the blue creature.

"What's this?" She looks down panicked and takes Ash's hand.

"That's a Pokemon. Your Pokemon. Piplup." Ash answer.

"He's ...adorable!" Dawn picks up Piplup and hugs him.

" So you don't remember anything?" Ash says, worried.

"No." Dawn answers, frowning.

"Then what's the last thing you remember?" Ash asks.
