HEY PEEPS IM BACK AGAIN! I'm reeeeeeeeeeeally excited about the rest of this story and you'll love it to. I promise. Actually, scratch that, I swear on the river styx. BAM.
Okay, I really want to get to the story, so…
And so it goes!
DAWN JACKSON
It had been only an hour since we left Half-Blood Hill. Argus had brought us to this place, and now here we were. The Brooklyn House, the 21st Nome of Egypt, in all its splendor. The lights high above us broke through the night like a knife ripping through paper. Kaya knocked on the door, and it opened to a very worried-looking Carter and Sadie. Relief filled their eyes as they saw us, and I knew why they had been worried. We had not left Camp to come here for several weeks.
They hurriedly ushered us inside. Carter and Sadie began flooding us with questions, but I said quickly, "We need to have a meeting on the terrace." Sadie nodded. "I'll get everybody." She turned and walked over to the center of the room and began to yell, "Come on, people! We got a meeting on the terrace ASAP!" Slowly, initiates began to file out of the halls and toward the terrace.
Kaya, Alex, Dandi, and I followed them outside and sat around the table. I waved as Phillip of Macedonia splashed around happily in the pool. I accidentally made some of the water stir around in the pool. I quickly looked around to make sure no one noticed.
Carter spoke to officially begin the meeting- "Dawn called us together, so I guess," he looked at me, "take it away."
I took a deep breath to prepare myself. The other three (Kaya, Alex, and Dandi) looked at me, and I knew that they were counting on me to explain. I had always been the closest to the Egyptians, and, when we were at the Brooklyn House, I kind of became the leader.
"There's something we've been meaning to tell you. At first, it had to be kept a secret, but now…," I paused, taking a second to plan how I was going to say this. "As you know, my mother was a blood of the pharaohs, which makes me a part of the Egyptian world. But there is something you should know about my father, and my past." My voice cracked as I began to speak of Poseidon. "I am also a Greek." Several gasps and looks of confusion came from the initiates. "My father is the Greek god Poseidon, lord of the sea. The Egyptians are not the only gods in this world. The Greeks are still around. They still have affairs and fall in love with mortals. The child of a mortal and a god is called a demigod. And I am one of them."
"I am as well," Kaya spoke up. "I am the daughter of Artemis, the goddess of hunt."
"So are we," Alex spoke for both herself and Dandi. "I am a legacy, a descendant of two gods. I am related to Ares, the god of war, and Athena, goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. Dandi is the daughter of Demeter, goddess of plants and farming."
"But that's not all." I continued the story. "There is a Greek camp nearby, a safe haven for all demigods. It is called Camp Half-Blood. I live there with several other demigods, including my brother, Perseus."
Carter's eyes lit up at that. "You mean Percy? Percy Jackson?"
I was startled and bewildered. How did he know that name? "Yes, how do you know him?"
"Long story. I'll explain later." Carter grimaced.
I was grateful that Kaya picked up where I had left off. Carter really had me wondering how he knew Percy.
"Anyways, Dawn, Alex, Dandi, and I were sent on a quest by Chiron, the activities director at Camp. This is the prophecy that we were given-
With this knife, the blood of three
Combined in perfect unity
The sea child, the war child, the sorceress
Shall be the bringers of peace
The four must reunite
If age-old hate is to cease
"This prophecy is fairly clear," she pulled out the spire and set it on the table. She pulled out the silver compartment, the paper, and the knife. "With this knife," she gestured towards the knife, "the blood of three, combined in perfect unity / The sea child, the war child, the sorceress- that part means that Percy, son of the sea god, Reyna, a Roman daughter of Bellona (a war goddess), and Sadie, follower of Isis, will need to cut themselves and put a small amount of their blood in this tube," she held up the cylinder. "The rest means that we, the Half-Breeds, will reunite the Romans, Greeks, and Egyptians. There is one thing that the prophecy does not mention- how we will come together. Well, the answer to that is simple- we must come together to win a war a particular soul is raging- Setne means to destroy us, and we must fight together if he is to be stopped."
Everyone sat in silence. Even Phillip quit splashing.
Finally, Sadie spoke and said, "Hand me the knife."
Dandi looked up and said, "What?"
"You need some of my blood, don't you? Well, then, hand me the knife."
Alex picked up the knife and handed it to her. Sadie picked up the tube and the knife. She uncapped the cylinder and almost screamed. "Whose blood is this?"
"It's Percy's." Dawn said.
Sadie gulped, and handed Carter the tube. She raised the knife and made a small incision. Everyone watched as the thick, dark liquid spilled into the cylinder. Some people gagged. As soon as she was finished, she closed the tube and got a bandage.
"We will need you to be ready for battle at any time," Alex said. "Setne will attack when you least expect it."
Carter nodded and stood up, shaking hands with us. "Good luck on your quest, then. May the gods be with you and watch over your path."
We said our good-byes and left the meeting. We gathered what we needed from our rooms and all met at the door.
Right before we left, I stood there watching the stars, with all their beauty, the glowing orbs of hope placed carefully in the sky. I watched them, their light still and constant, and I knew that whatever happened, the stars would still be there in the end. And I would always have hope.
PEACE OUT, MORTALS!
