"Order! Order in the court!" Minister Fudge banged his gravel on the podium in front of him. "The Wizengamot is here today for the trial of one Light Yagami. The charges against him are mass murder. If anyone has any objections to the charges please speak now."

The Minister was not expecting anyone to speak. Light Yagami had spoken clearly in the battle against Voldemort and admited to killing thousands of people. This would obviously go in the Ministry's favour.

"I have an objection." Those who had been present in such incidences as Umbridge's classes and other various debates groaned internally.

"And what is your name?" Fudge asked pompously.

"Ryuuzaki Rue. My complaint against the charges is quite simple. I'm sure it won't take long." L smirked, he despised this type of bureaucrat.

"What possible complaint could be brought against the charges. The accused stated in front of over a hundred witnesses that he had killed over twenty thousand people. You yourself confirmed this."

"I'm not saying that Light did not kill those people as he quite clearly did. However Light used no magic at any time during his killing spree and therefore you have no grounds to hold him to trial."

Fudge spluttered incoherently "But- he- he..."

L smiled evilly. "Light has also never killed a member of the British Wizarding World nor has broken any of your laws. I really have no idea why you are trying him."

"He's killed thousands of people. He needs to be punished!" Fudge finally managed to shout. "He can't simply walk around like this without being punished."

"Oh rest assured Minister. I have already taken care of his punishment."

"Now that we have finished this utterly pointless trial can we leave" Light spoke from where he was bound to the chair in the courtroom. "I really have no intention of catching something like septicaemia or tetanus from this chair." The wizards looked at him confused.

"Septiceamia?"

*snigger* Poor little wizards not being able to convict Light. Sorry that this chapter took so long I got caught up in a bunch of stuff and didn't get round to it. Hopefully you like it. Thank you to everyone who reviewed, followed or favourited the story.
